00:00Texas Governor Greg Abbott is turning up the pressure on Democratic lawmakers who fled the

00:08state to block his redistricting plan, threatening to keep them out for years.

00:14Abbott says if they step foot back in Texas, they'll be arrested and hauled to the Capitol,

00:19and he'll keep calling special sessions until Republicans get their way.

00:24Here he is on Fox News Sunday.

00:26This could literally last years because in Texas, I'm authorized to call a special session

00:31every 30 days. It lasts 30 days. And as soon as this one is over, I'm going to call another one,

00:37then another one, then another one, then another one. If they show back up in the state of Texas,

00:42they will be arrested and taken to the Capitol. If they want to evade that arrest,

00:46they're going to have to stay outside of the state of Texas for literally years.

00:50The Democrats have been holed up in blue states like Illinois and Massachusetts,

00:54trying to run out the clock on Abbott's plan to redraw congressional maps in Republicans' favor.
