00:00A school bus carrying 42 elementary students rolled on its side on Wednesday in northwest Austin, entering 16, according to Texas officials.
00:10The Leander Independent School District bus was leaving an area elementary school when it veered into an embankment.
00:17Austin-Travis County EMS rushed nine children and the driver to hospitals,
00:22and the Texas Department of Public Safety later confirmed more students needed medical care.
00:27Two children suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the others had minor injuries.
00:33Investigators say the bus left the road on a slight curve and rolled.
00:37It was raining, but weather has not been confirmed as a factor.
00:41The bus had state-regulated seatbelts, but officials don't know if all students were buckled.
00:46Students who escaped injury were taken to a nearby church to reunite with families.
00:51Leander ISD says extra counselors and social workers will be on-site Thursday to support students and families.
00:59A similar crash happened this week in Cleveland, Texas, about 45 miles northeast of Houston.
01:04Another bus flipped Wednesday morning, carrying 58 students.
01:08All were taken to hospitals.
01:10Earlier in the week, a high school bus on the same road also overturned, sending 36 students to hospitals.
