00:00Thousands made the trek to Bath, England to celebrate the birthday of author Jane Austen.
00:10So the Jane Austen festival obviously has been taking place for many years and has grown over
00:18time and it really gives us a moment in the calendar to celebrate Jane Austen and even
00:24more so this year with the 250th anniversary. It's a huge moment to put Bath on the map globally
00:33to celebrate the life of an incredible author.
00:36Austen fans came from all over the world to dress in period costumes and pay tribute to
00:40the author. Around 2,000 people dressed the part to participate in the parade.
00:44And it's really a spectacle to behold because to promenade would have been something that
00:49Jane Austen would have done and was very contemporary in a time so it's an opportunity for people
00:55to reenact and quite the spectacle for not just for those people taking part but for people
01:00watching as well along the way.
01:02Austen moved to Bath in 1801. The festival runs through the end of next week. For Straight
