00:00The man tasked with planning America's 250th birthday celebration has been fired.
00:08The America 250 Commission fired 25-year-old Ariel Abergel.
00:14Abergel was appointed to organize the country's birthday celebration
00:17and the military parade that took place earlier this year in Washington, D.C.
00:23Abergel claims he was fired following an unapproved post
00:27on the official America 250 Instagram page.
00:31The post honored Charlie Kirk but was not approved by the commission.
00:35A commission spokesperson told Newsweek Abergel was fired, quote,
00:39after he initiated a security breach of a commission's social media account,
00:45attempted to procure the resignations of multiple commissioners
00:49by misrepresenting himself as acting on behalf of congressional leadership
00:54and engaged in multiple other serious and repeated breaches of authority and trust.
01:01Abergel responded to The Wall Street Journal,
01:03claiming that statement was full of what he called malicious lies.
01:07The America 250 Commission plans to quickly hire a new executive director.
