00:05suggest he confessed to the crime to friends online.
00:11Sources who spoke with the Washington Post and provided message screenshots
00:15confirmed Robinson wrote directly to his friends on the social media app Discord
00:20just hours before being taken into custody.
00:24According to the screenshots, Robinson wrote,
00:27Hey guys, I have bad news for you all.
00:30It was me at Utah Valley University yesterday.
00:34I'm sorry for all of this.
00:35Robinson continued, I'm surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments.
00:40Thanks for all the good times and laughs.
00:43You've all been so amazing.
00:44Thank you all for everything.
00:47That message was sent about two hours before he was taken into custody Thursday.
00:51Discord confirmed to media they are cooperating with authorities and provided a copy of that
00:57message to the FBI and local law enforcement.
01:00The company says its own internal review found no evidence that the suspect planned this incident
01:07or promoted violence on Discord.
01:10Utah Governor Spencer Cox says early information suggests the suspect held a leftist ideology
01:17and had criticized Kirk in the past.
01:19The FBI says its investigation is just in the beginning stages.
01:24According to a report from the Washington Free Beacon, at least seven social media accounts are also being looked into
01:31that appeared to hint at foreknowledge of the shooting.
01:35The FBI has received copies of these posts.
01:39There is no evidence at this time that any of those social media users knew or conspired with the suspect.
