00:00There's a lot of ways to boil down this series.
00:02For me, at some point, Aaron Judge has to cash in a regular season in the postseason.
00:09I think there's a pretty good chance he's going to win a third AL MVP.
00:14If it needed to be galvanized, he's going to the Hall of Fame.
00:18He's one of the greatest impact regular season hitters ever.
00:22The numbers are just bad in the postseason overall.
00:25They're terrible with runners in scoring position.
00:27They're helpless with two strikes.
00:30The Yankees do not beat good teams in the playoffs outside of the AL Central because they don't get enough from Judge in general.
00:40To me, this is a mandate on the Aarons.
00:43Does Boone manage a team tough enough to do this, and does Judge carry them across a finish line?
00:49Yeah, I think they do.
00:50I think this is their time, and we've been back and forth on the Yankees.
00:55That's reasonable considering they had that usual slump in the summer.
00:58But they have been outstanding lately.
01:01I feel like they're in great position.
01:04They've won their last eight games.
01:07You know, Boston's got more injuries or newer injuries.
01:10Certainly Roman Anthony being out.
01:12Now they've lost Giolito.
01:13So what are they going to do for game three?
01:15So it feels like the Yankees should win this series.
01:18Being at home, a little bit of a plus as well.
01:20I do have faith in Judge.
01:22I don't want to say it's a small sample size.
01:24They're in the playoffs basically every year.
01:26It is stunning.
01:27I do think the other teams do prepare, do try to avoid, do a better job of that in the postseason.
01:34We've seen this before with other stars.
01:36Obviously, Ted Williams, not as many games, very few games actually in the postseason.
01:40The postseason didn't have great stats for the one postseason he was in.
01:45We saw it with Barry Bonds.
01:46We saw it with A-Rod for a long time up until the end in 2009 when he was fantastic.
01:52I do think Judge will have a big postseason eventually.
01:56This might be it.
01:56But they have a great cast around them at this point in terms of the home runs.
02:01They hit 30-plus more home runs than anybody else.
02:04Rice is now a star.
02:05Grisham a throw-in in the Soto deal, was a star this year.
02:10Bellinger was an outstanding signing, not just for the defense and the versatility.
02:15He also hit home runs.
02:17Basically, everybody can hit home runs.
02:18I mean, and they don't have big issues at this moment.
02:22We've stopped talking about their fundamentals and their defense and Anthony Volpe for a few weeks now.
02:28Everything feels like it's falling right for the Yankees after it started off bad with Cole
02:33and then Schmidt being out in the slumps.
02:35Right now, they're on a high.
02:37To me, they're the American League favorite.
02:40I'm not going to be surprised if Seattle or somebody else wins it, but we've got to feel good about the Yankees right now.
02:46Yeah, I think the Yankees did a Yankee thing, which is they know, as opposed to the Mets,
02:51they kind of know how to get in, right?
02:53They know how to get to—they won as many games this year as they won last year,
02:56as opposed to losing series to the Marlins and Nationals when bad teams were put in front of them at the end.
03:02The Yankees won them all.
03:03They go into the postseason with an eight-game winning streak,
03:06which gives them home field in this series against the Red Sox.
03:11I think they're still a little loose on the bases.
03:14They could get a little over-adventurous.
03:16And against Alex Cora and Carlos Norvayas, I think that could be dangerous.
03:21And I think Garrett Crochet is the counterpunch here.
03:24You know, they've faced Crochet four times this year.
03:27The Red Sox are 4-0 in those games, and Crochet is generally pitched well.
