00:00tell me why you think that was the right position for unwell and a little bit about your partnership
00:05well every single business decision that i make i want it to feel genuine and organic to myself
00:11and my audience and i played division one soccer and so it was kind of like a merging of my old
00:17life and my current life which was beautiful and when i created unwell hydration it was something
00:23that i could have used when i was in school playing soccer but also now as a washed up former athlete
00:30you know if i have a martini and i want to wake up at night and feel better i'm hitting the unwell
00:35hydration so i think when i thought about my past experience being an athlete it was a natural moment
00:42to get involved in women's sports i wanted to get involved in women's sports but i just didn't know
00:46when the right time would be and so it felt like a natural integration and it's been such an incredible
00:51experience meeting these women who play in this league they are incredible they're so determined
00:58they work their asses off and they all have such unique stories and i'm hoping that
01:03me getting involved can help in any way amplify the sport thinking about or sharing with these other
01:08brands what you can do to collaborate or share about how you approach women's sports i mean how i've
01:14been approaching it i think a lot of it comes down to in sports you can't fake it if you didn't do the
01:20work if you didn't put in the time then you're going to get exposed i think that's how i think
01:24about every partnership i do with brands you have to be genuine you have to invest your time like if
01:31anything i'm doing i'm putting my name on i'm in every single meeting i'm understanding what i'm
01:36putting my name on and if i'm going to be the face of something well then all of the back end has to
01:40make sense and so i think we're working with the nwsl getting in rooms with these women the commissioner to
01:47the athletes really getting face time with them before launching it's a great community these women
01:52are amazing yeah well since they started their season um and we're gonna keep going people really
01:59have a hard time understanding that women can be multi-dimensional you know we're able to watch
02:05lebron be a father and one of the greatest basketball players of all time and i think as a woman
02:11you can't fathom that if she's a female athlete she also has a personal life and she has a personality and
02:16she has a sense of fashion and style and all those things and i think a lot of the women i've spoken
02:21to are afraid to amplify themselves on social media and we see it you see the rise of women at the end
02:27of their careers right before they retire they start to post more they start to come out of their shell a
02:32little bit because they feel like okay now i can lean into a different side of myself and i think what
02:36i'm trying to help the nwsl work on is from the jump the rookies should come in create a tick tock
02:42create your instagram accounts show your personality because how people are going to become more
02:47invested in this sport is if they're invested in the actual human being wearing the jersey and i think
02:52we're only seeing the people on the field and not as much off the field so i think allowing women to be
02:59free and who they are and supporting them rather than judging them i think is the first step on social
03:05media to allow these women to come out of their shell more yeah i think
