00:00I think the Mets are better. I'm picking Philly because of what you just said. Like I think if
00:06it's close and they're in it, they, look, you could argue the window's closed. I think they
00:12have one more year, maybe two with this core. You know they'll be aggressive. I'm with you with
00:18Philly. I think they can do one more year, but still questions. Tywin Walker still in that
00:23rotation. He hasn't been very good since he got there, right? I do think their bullpen's a little
00:28better with Duran than it has been, but there's some questions with Philly. We know Dombrowski
00:32Middleton, the guy who runs the baseball operations, the owner. They're throw the brick on the gas
00:36pedal. We're trying to win in part because all their best players are in their mid thirties
00:41or older and they've got to kind of go for it right now. To me, what David Stearns did
00:46to get Peralta, that has to be the beginning of a willingness to do what he doesn't like
00:51to do. And to me, that's one of those places where the owner has tried very hard to say
00:55I'm letting David do it. I was in the dugout when Steve Cohen over and over kept saying 1986
01:01is too long ago. He goes, I'm frustrated. I want to win. And I think there's got to be a
01:06little
01:06pedal to the metal. Last July, the Mets had the piece that the twins wanted most for Yon Duran,
01:12which was Tong. Now we'll see over the long term, maybe Tong will turn into a really good starting
01:17pitcher and we'll say, wow, that's a trade there. The bless they didn't make, but I would feel a whole
01:22lot better about the Mets today if they have Duran. And I think they make the playoffs last year
01:28if they have Duran. And I understand that David Stearns was brought in to make the Mets a serial
01:32contender in the way the Dodgers are, but it's okay to go for a championship. And to me, the Peralta
01:38thing has to be a sign that we're willing to do some stuff that I think intuitively he does not
01:43want
01:44to do.
