00:00I didn't expect it to be something where I was like, whoa, I can't, I cannot handle this.
00:08This is not something I need to be at or be in because it's not healthy for a mental state.
00:15Virtual reality.
00:19Brittany Cartwright, Danny and I, you know, we love you.
00:21You know that we are obsessed with you.
00:23So we were so excited when we saw that you were cast on Special Forces.
00:27However, we were so devastated that it was only for one episode.
00:33How are you feeling about your experience, Barb?
00:36I mean, obviously I'm embarrassed that it was one episode, but like I couldn't do it no more.
00:41It was so hard and it was just, God, in the time of my life that I was in at that moment
00:50and leaving my son for as long as I had and, you know, just different things like that that
00:55were happening to me, it just, it was not aligning.
00:58I was not physically ready.
01:00I thought I was going to be mentally ready, but I wasn't.
01:03Like going into there, I was thinking, okay, I just left a very toxic relationship.
01:09I'm reliving this on national TV.
01:11I can handle anything.
01:13And the DS are doing their job.
01:15They're screaming at me.
01:16They're yelling at me.
01:17They're calling me names.
01:18They're doing all this.
01:19Instead of that motivating me, it triggered me.
01:22And I, I didn't expect that to happen.
01:26You know, they're just doing their jobs, but I, I didn't expect it to be something where
01:29I was like, whoa, I can't, I cannot handle this.
01:36This is not something I need to be at or be in because it's not healthy from a mental
01:40state.
01:40And I did not expect that to happen to me at all.
01:43I honestly, I feel like just from what you just said, cause I know a lot of people like
01:47you probably did too.
01:48A lot of people went on the show to learn something about themselves and to prove something about
01:52yourself.
01:53And I hope, you know, it's kind of a beautiful moment actually that you felt that felt the
01:57triggering felt your past and you were like, oh, now I, I know how to say goodbye to that.
02:02You know what I mean?
02:03Oh yeah.
02:03I think so too.
02:04You know, I, I talked about it afterwards and everything, you know, and it was just like,
02:09it just wasn't the right thing for you.
02:12It wasn't the right thing.
02:13And I, you know, I had committed to something months before and I really wanted to go.
02:17It just wasn't the time of my life where I was able to get past it right now.
02:22I'm in such a better head space and I'm feeling amazing and I'm so happy.
02:27And I feel like I'm in such a better place.
02:30And I think maybe I could do better now, but honestly, it was, it was hard.
02:35You made it farther than we would.
02:36It was a freaking hard.
02:37And I faced my biggest fear jumping out of a helicopter.
02:43Helicopters are terrifying.
02:44Heights are the worst for me.
02:47So even though the physical stuff wasn't great, I conquered one of my biggest fears and I'm proud
02:52of that.
02:53So no matter what the haters say, I'm like, okay, let me see you do it.
02:56Let me see you rappel down.
02:58Even though I dangled for a minute, it wasn't the prettiest thing in the world.
03:01I still freaking did it.
03:04Honestly, screw the haters, Brittany.
03:07Danny and I were talking earlier that you lasted a lot longer than we would have.
03:10We would have lasted maybe seven minutes at most.
03:13But to Danny's point, it actually really is a beautiful thing that you were able to establish
03:17a boundary and say, no, I'm, I can't take people yelling at me like this.
03:21I, I, in a way you were honestly like too, too used to it.
03:25Now, if those situations arise where you're, you know, put in a situation where you're having
03:30a really intense argument, say with the person you are currently co-parenting with, do you
03:35feel like you are better equipped to handle those sorts of conversations?
03:39And that, well, not, not a conversation, but that kind of behavior.
03:42Oh, a hundred percent.
03:44I have like, I've learned so much about myself.
03:47I've grown so much within all of this, these things that I've gone through.
03:51And I think that like, now I, I see things for what they are.
03:57Like if I'm fighting with someone, um, I'm not taking everything he says to me to heart.
04:06Like before everything like crushed me and went into my heart and my soul.
04:12And I was like, believed that stuff about me.
04:14And I don't do that anymore.
04:16And I think that's awesome.
04:17And it's how you should, that's what you deserve.
04:20You know what I mean?
04:21That you're like, that's what they're working on.
04:22You don't need that because you know, you're beautiful and you have a beautiful life and
04:25a beautiful soul and also a beautiful baby, which you said you were so sad to have left.
04:30I know where you kind of like, cause Teresa and Gia, I'm like, oh, they got to do it.
04:33Of course Gia's in her twenties, so she could go do it.
04:36But do you feel like that was kind of one of the main things to, or one of the other things
04:40too, that you're like, I really need to be with Cruz right now.
04:43Like, cause it must be hard for you to even be separated from him for a little bit.
04:47And it's so hard because I am 100% the main parent, you know, I do everything I'm with
04:53him every single day, 24 seven.
04:56And a lot of people don't realize, like before we even get to the course, we're in Morocco
05:00for like at least seven days.
05:01And I had never been away from my son more than two or three nights tops.
05:06And if I travel without him, it's for work or something, you know what I mean?
05:11So at that point I had never been away from him for that long.
05:14So that was very difficult as well.
05:17Luckily I have an amazing support system here and that was able to, I knew that he was safe.
05:21I was FaceTiming him 20,000 times a day.
05:24I only made it on the course for one day, half a day, whatever the freak you want to call
05:28it.
05:28So I didn't, I didn't like actually go a day with where I wasn't able to call him, but
05:33on the course, you can't call your loved ones.
05:35And I think that was, you know, that's hard.
05:38Have you shown like, it is great that they got to have a support system because maybe
05:43if I would have had Kristen Doty or a Zach Sikkim or one of my friends on the course with
05:49me, they would have been like, bitch, you're not leaving.
05:52You are staying here.
05:53And maybe I would have stayed, you know, who knows?
05:57Now that you say that I am.
05:59Wow.
06:00Imagining Kristen Doty and special forces would truly be.
06:03That would be a wild time.
06:06She would never, she told me she wouldn't even sign up for it.
06:09She's like, I'm so proud of you and signed up and you went to it.
06:13She's like, bring it.
06:14Cause I sent like clips and I was like, you guys are going to laugh at me.
06:17It's so awful.
06:18Blah, blah, blah.
06:19And they were like, Brittany, we wouldn't even go on that show because it's so hard.
06:25I was like, there are a few, um, like I feel Bravo lebs who would do the show.
06:29Like even Paige DeSorber was like, I could never in my entire life.
06:32Like I feel even on your, uh, your friends at the Valley too.
06:35I feel so many of them would probably be like, oh, no, thank you.
06:36Like I want, what would my spray tan do?
06:39You know what I mean?
06:41Who's like, let me try this and push yourself to something new.
06:43Yeah.
06:44I wanted to go out of my comfort zone.
06:45I was at a time in my life where I was like, let me just say yes to trying everything,
06:50you know?
06:51And I'm so proud of myself that I did it.
06:53I didn't make it far.
06:54Yes.
06:54It's embarrassing.
06:55Yes.
06:55Whatever.
06:55I didn't look beautiful.
06:56It wasn't a show to look sexy and to look pretty and show my daily life.
07:01It was to push me out of my comfort zone.
07:03And I'm proud of that.
07:05Have you shown Cruz the footage of mommy jumping out of a helicopter or do you think he's too
07:11young?
07:11Because there's also a part of me that would be like, look what mommy did.
07:14Like, look what I was doing.
07:16I haven't showed him yet, but I feel like maybe I should do that today to see how he reacts.
07:20I think he would think it's cool because every time I help, I live in LA, helicopters are
07:24around 24 seven.
07:27So anytime a helicopter is around, he's like looking up like, oh my gosh, oh my gosh.
07:30Like he loves it.
07:31So yeah, I definitely need to show him.
07:33I haven't had time because, you know, we, we work on so much other stuff and it hasn't
07:39really been like, let me show him this because I was kind of embarrassed and the haters were
07:43hating, but I feel like I should show him.
07:46Yeah.
07:46Yeah.
07:47I feel like, yeah, you don't have to listen to the haters.
07:49Cause like, like, I mean, what you even did was so even like the premise of it, like
07:53Chris and Dodie told you, it is so terrifying, but I do like the idea that you maybe with
07:58a pal and with like a better headspace and some time you're down to go back.
08:02Yeah.
08:02Like if they ever did like a worst, uh, special forces character ever, and then like had us
08:09all on the set, all the show together, maybe I would try again.
08:12And we know you didn't have that much time with them after being in the Morocco, like
08:17getting your bearings and everything like that.
08:18But were you bonding with, inviting with a lot of the cast that you were with?
08:22Yeah.
08:22So I was only there for a day, but everybody was, cause, uh, even whenever we were in the
08:28hotel and stuff before we didn't get to, we didn't get to see each other.
08:31So we didn't know who was on the course until we got to the course.
08:34Wow.
08:35And I actually knew a lot of the people, which was cool.
08:40You know, Randall Cobb played football for UK, Kentucky, where I'm from.
08:43So I knew him, he, the same time I lived in Lexington, like we hung out in the same, like
08:48we hung out with each other.
08:49He was like, you know, around my friends and everything like that.
08:51My mom sold him his first furniture set in Lexington for his first apartment.
08:55Like, so there was like different things.
08:56Sean and Andrew East, we had a job together for S.A.
08:59Lauder.
08:59Uh, so we worked a stage coach event together.
09:02I met Jesse James and Eric Decker, you know, Teresa and Gio that, you know, it was kind
09:06of cool to, to go there and be like, Oh my God, you're here.
09:09You're here.
09:10You're here.
09:10It was neat.
09:11But everybody was so nice.
09:13So nice.
09:14Oh, I love it.
09:15Your castmate, Eva Marceal from Atlanta housewives.
09:18When we interviewed her, she described you as a walking ray of sunshine, which is so accurate.
09:23You always bring such a good energy to, to every situation.
09:26But speaking of Eva, one thing she told, one thing she told Danny and I is that while she
09:31was there for the entirety of the duration that she was in Morocco, she did not use the
09:36bathroom once that she didn't do number two, because apparently the bathroom situation
09:40there is really horrific.
09:42What did you make of the bathroom situation, Brittany?
09:45Well, I was in a hotel until I went to the course and I was out for one day, so I never
09:50made it to base.
09:51Would you, would you, would you pull an Eva or would you be like, no, I gotta, I gotta use
09:55the hole.
09:55I don't think I could pull an Eva because my stomach doesn't work like that.
09:59I think that she's been a model for years.
10:02So she's like, I know how to handle this and it's fine.
10:05I, I am a country girl who likes to eat and that's just not how my body would work.
10:13I'm so glad you never had to experience that because that is the one I think I would survive
10:17because of the stage fright alone.
10:19I just, I don't think I could handle it because apparently you can like make eye contact with
10:23people while they're getting down to business.
10:25And that just, that is, that is not for me.
10:27That's something that Tom Schwartz asked me every day.
10:29He's like, what's the pooping situation?
10:31Like, you know, I'm like, of course that is the question Tom Schwartz asked.
10:39Speaking of eye contact, we interviewed DS Foxy, Brittany.
10:43I was like, I feel like I'm, I told him, I was like, if you were yelling at me, I think
10:47you're flirting with me.
10:48He's so attractive.
10:49He's so cute.
10:51He is.
10:52And that was, it's crazy to like, cause you know, I saw how they were on camera.
10:58And then as soon as I got cut, I got to see like his personality.
11:01And I was like, Oh, I did.
11:06I'm not, I was like, I thought you were so terrifying, but you're actually no saying
11:10because he's literally like Teresa Jude, I stupid to her face.
11:13And then he came onto our radio show and like Danny and I were honestly like scared and nervous.
11:17And then he ended up being the nicest guy on the planet.
11:20I was like, how do you do this?
11:21This is so insane.
11:22Yeah.
11:23Afterwards, I remember I was walking up and I was like, is this my walk of shame?
11:26Cause I was going to have to go have a conversation with him.
11:28And he'd like, was just like being funny and like chit chat with me.
11:32And I was like, Oh, you are a normal person.
11:37So we were actually, Brittany, we were chatting about you recently with your good pal, Sheena
11:42Shea at our VRT awards event.
11:44And one thing she told us there is that she loves your new man.
11:48She's a big fan of him.
11:49How has he been reacting to your experience on the show?
11:53Just very supportive.
11:55You know, I had already told him that I didn't make it long.
11:58Like, you know, so he was like aware of all that stuff, but just very supportive and
12:02just like, don't listen to the haters.
12:04You did amazing.
12:05You tried, you know, you do the best you can do.
12:08And he's like, you're a great person.
12:09So don't listen to people who ever would think otherwise.
12:13And when we, Oh, it's so cute.
12:15And when we talked to Brianna, she said that now it's kind of reframed how she goes on dates
12:19and has date.
12:21Cause now she's like going hiking and everything like that.
12:23Does it make y'all's date night, like get a little more, you're like, Oh, let's get it
12:26a little more active or you're like, no, I, I wasn't a helicopter.
12:29I need to be wind and dine at five-star establishments from now on.
12:32Oh, no.
12:33It's like, I was in a helicopter.
12:34I jumped out of a helicopter.
12:36I can, if I like am scared of anything, I'm like, but I jumped out of a helicopter.
12:40I can do this.
12:42Wait, okay.
12:43Do you have something on the bucket list then?
12:44Like you want to like the next fear you want to face or something?
12:47I don't know.
12:48I haven't gotten that far yet, but yeah.
12:50I mean, I wouldn't say that I'm thinking, let's take a helicopter to the islands.
12:55I'm like, let's be safe and take a boat or whatever.
12:59You know, I'm not changing my, my mindset on that kind of stuff.
13:03But you know, I am more down to, to try adventurous things.
13:07I think, cause it's like, I put myself out there.
13:10I was terrified.
13:10I did it.
13:11I survived, you know, type thing.
13:13Do you also feel like you are in a braver state of being with a partner who is so supportive
13:20and celebratory of you?
13:22Yeah, it definitely feels good to have someone who is lifting me up instead of putting me
13:27down.
13:27It's amazing.
13:28Oh, well, Brittany, you're amazing.
13:30I can't believe our 10 minutes with you has already passed.
13:32I know.
13:33Sorry.
13:33It's so short.
13:34It was great.
13:34You know, we love you and could talk to you all the time.
13:36Yes.
13:37And we're, we got to call it King of the Hill because you could be a boat actress.
13:41Oh my God.
13:43And I freaking, okay.
13:44I love that.
13:45Whenever you guys said that about me, because put me on any of those King of the Hill, American
13:49Dad, Family Guy, like give me a voice actor, John.
13:52You really would be so good.
13:53You have the cadence and everything.
13:56Honestly, we need it to happen.
13:58I'm putting it out there.
13:59Let's do it.
14:00Please.
14:01One day you're jumping out of helicopters.
14:03Next day you're a voice actress.
14:04You can do it all day.
14:05Put it in Emmys, girl.
14:05Yes.
14:06Yes.
14:06I am all around.
