00:00And the guy who I think was the number one player on Earth that week at Bethpage Black and maybe continues to be the hottest player on the planet, Tommy Fleetwood.
00:08And we're sitting here at time recording, looking back at his DP World India Championship win and just looking back the past couple of months because nobody's been on a heater like Tommy Ladd has these past few.
00:19So first PGA Tour win at Eastlake to win the 2025 FedEx Cup. He is the leading points earner at the Ryder Cup, won four points to lead Team Europe to that win on foreign soil.
00:31And Smiley, this DP World India Championship win also represented a first, maybe not the one that you think of immediately.
00:39So here's what I want to do. I want to take a listen to Tommy Ladd's thoughts after this win.
00:44He just said randomly, he said, hey, do you know what you've never done? So you've never won a tournament and then I've been able to run on to the 18th green.
00:50And I was like, I'm writing that down. So I had that written down all week.
00:55Like I say, it's just another opportunity, really. There's going to be many more times where I hopefully get the chance to do that.
00:59But that was like all day today. Had in my mind, you know, could I put myself in a position where I can actually make that moment happen?
01:06So it's just one of those little things. It means a lot to me. Like it means so much to me. And that was that was really cool. That's what I wanted to do all day.
01:13The the he, of course, that Tommy is talking about is his son, Frankie.
01:18And there's one more image that I want to put up here just to share with you, because I just love this image so much.
01:23You know, we're here talking open this episode with talking about dad stuff.
01:27And here they are hugging on the 18th green. The hug that Frankie was looking forward to and wanted.
01:33And and smiley, we're going to get into some Tommy stats. We're going to get into just, you know, this week, these these past few months and just the year he had in 2025.
01:40But, you know, newly minted boy dad over here watching Tommy share this moment with, frankly, I mean, like, does it get any better than that, man?
01:49Tommy's easily probably the most easy to cheer for player right now in the game just comes across so, so well to so many different people.
02:00And his game is so fun to watch. He's just relatable, I think, is the easiest way to describe him.
02:06You know, his golf game is effortless, but the way in which he speaks, it just comes from a place of true authentic authenticity, where it feels like he's just doesn't have a bad bone in his body.
02:17Would never speak bad about anybody he's ever met.
02:19And I could definitely speak to that, too. Just being around him personally, he's he's works his tail off.
02:28He cares about his job. But when it comes to, you know, off the course, when you even the Ryder Cup socials, just getting a glimpse into Ryder Cup Europe in the team room and watching these players interact.
02:39And just seeing how much everybody got along with Tommy and unshockingly seeing him win this week is is no surprise to me whatsoever, because this golf course, if you had an opportunity to see any of this, this place this week, an absolute nightmare for a player like myself.
02:57This place was jungle wall to wall. I went onto this leaderboard to see, like, what these guys were shooting, because I don't know if I would ever gotten off this first tee.
03:06Oh, it's amazing. There was it was a pretty wide range.
03:11It looked like if you hit the fairways, which it looked like a short golf course, if you found all the fairways, it would take it to be a pretty easy course.
03:18But if you didn't, there was there was some pretty big disparity between the bottom and the top.
03:24There were some guys that were also had the high odds out there to shout out.
03:27There was one hole that kind of bent right to left and like you had to hit like a little bit of a draw.
03:32And I was just thinking, like, what what club would I hit right here?
03:37Like, would I try to, like, clip some leaves with a driver with a fade and just like hopefully that would take enough off of it?
03:44Because there's nothing I can't stand up there and hit a three wouldn't expect to try to turn one over and have a tight little draw.
03:52That's that's not in the card. I either have the toe slammer or the the spinny right.
03:57Like, that's the that's the three would if I have to, like, make myself hit a draw.
