00:00Following a positive performance from young midfielder Lewis Miley for Newcastle United against Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday evening,
00:08head coach Eddie Howe has expressed his hopes that Miley continues to have a positive season and, crucially, stays injury-free.
00:17Miley has had some niggling injuries in the past, but Howe hopes he can stay fit.
00:22Well, I think injury-free. I'd probably say that for every player, but Louis has had certain injuries, as you say, from last season.
00:31And I think he needs game time. He needs to play, to develop. I think that's clear for any young player.
00:37But the big thing for me is he has to deserve that. I'm not just going to give it to him. He's got to actually deserve it.
00:43And I think nights like tonight will help him immensely to get more game time, to show that he's on a level playing field with the other player.
00:52You know, we're dealing with Sandro, Joe, Bruno. To knock one of them out of the team is very, very difficult.
01:00But you saw JJ come in, Jacob Ramsey come into the team, did very well today.
01:04Louis shows the strength we have in midfield. Joe Willett did well in a very brief cameo.
01:08But good players in those positions, and they're all going to push each other, hopefully, for better performances.
01:12And Sunderland head coach Regis Labris has confirmed that defender Omar Alderette will miss the Black Cats trip to the capital to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge,
01:23because he is currently under concussion protocol guidance.
01:26The only one is Omar is under concussion protocol with daily assessments.
01:38So we'll keep monitoring his progress through the end of this week and into the next one to see if it will be available for Everton.
01:50But for now, it's too early to tell us.
01:54It's important to build consistency, especially in this league.
02:00If you are solid and to protect your goal, you don't concede many goals.
02:07I think it's better to build confidence and to be able to be competitive.
02:12You know.
02:12You know.
02:21Yeah.
02:22Yeah.
02:23Yeah.
02:24I think.
02:31I think.
02:34I think.
