00:00Newcastle United claim their biggest ever win in the Champions League in Brussels as they defeated USG by four goals to nil.
00:10Two goals came from the penalty spot thanks to Anthony Gordon and they were in amongst strikes from Nick Valdemar and Harvey Barnes.
00:18Yeah, absolutely. I think that's what we, travelling out here, that's what we would have wanted, especially after the Arsenal ending.
00:24That was a big response from the players because that was a painful way to lose that game and the players had to dig deep and look within themselves and come out fighting again.
00:36That's what we do best and I thought it was a really good display today. It was always going to be a tough game.
00:40But I think as soon as we got that first goal, it settled us down and we played really well.
00:44You always said that it takes new signings longer to adapt to your methods than perhaps it does at other clubs.
00:51But you must be starting to see the flickers of a flame really with that front three, the way they played today.
00:59That's a good way of putting it. I think there were certainly some good bits from them today.
01:03I think, yeah, I thought we attacked well today. I thought we defended well today.
01:07I think any time you get a clean sheet in the Champions League away from home, that's a good statement to make.
01:13And Sunderland head coach Regis Libris has spoken about the development of his squad, going from the players who played a big part in helping Sunderland gain promotion to who he now has at his disposal.
01:25Yes, it's exactly the same process, because I think it's part of the identity of our club.
01:31We want to develop our players, our squad, to help them to get a better version of the squad and to help the players become better players.
01:46So it's a learning process. We challenge them, we support them, and we try to keep our best.
01:56Are they ahead of where you expected them to be?
02:02I like being surprised. I think the dynamic is positive. I can't say anything else. It's really clear.
02:11And that's always a new journey.
02:14Lovely.
