00:22column today about this when this first came out and he said the uncertainty over rogier's status
00:28reached the point that rogier appeared confused when told during an interview sunday that he had
00:32been cleared to return from his pre-season hamstring injury with rogier initially believing the word
00:37cleared was being used in regard to the federal investigation so this is super interesting
00:44because i have this potted like a potted up in here for me to hear and the lady that's speaking
00:48is you know that infamous game in 2023 that he played with charlotte that he left the game early
00:52this jessica tish the new york city commissioner what is she saying she's saying that that was
00:57one of the main things that happened was that he told people close to him that he was going to
01:01leave the game early and they placed like hundreds of thousands of dollars of bets on his unders
01:06and they got it all and then the pros like all of their winnings went to his like residence

01:13he told them that he was going to like get out of the game early
01:19well that's that's that's and here's the other thing that's crazy about it so he didn't play the rest
01:24of the year so like if he was going to pull this off and it's like well you know this the season
01:29was over for the hornets like in 2023 it might do this the investigation they we listened to the
01:34cash patel and the district attorney's whole thing this didn't involve anything with the heat as far
01:41as like games with the heat although you could look at some of his play and be like i raise an eyebrow
01:45now that's that's seeing that's the whole problem with the sports betting thing and athletes involved
01:53in it is that now we can't look at any bad game or any circumstance and not think that there was
02:04something's up something's up and that's the one thing they're trying to get away from or boy in the
02:09game that he was investigated for by the league when this happened and espn did a report on this
02:16this summer that there were all these bets that went into this casino like dozens of them and they
02:23didn't want to pay officially because it was like it seems very it seemed very fishy but they also said
02:29in the indictment that there were also online bets went on this as well so yeah not great i will say
02:36to give the other side of this terry rogier's lawyer has given a statement uh this is what he
02:41says quote uh we have represented terry rogier for over a year a long time ago we reached out to
02:47these prosecutors to tell them that we should have an open line of communication they characterized
02:51terry rogier as a subject not a target but at 6 a.m this morning they called to tell me fbi agents
02:57were trying to arrest him in a hotel it is unfortunate that instead of allowing him to self-surrender they
03:02opted for a photo op they wanted to they wanted the misplaced glory of embarrassing a professional
03:07athlete with the perp walk that tells you a lot about the motivations in this case they appear to
03:11be taking the word of spectacularly incredible sources rather than relying on actual evidence of
03:18wrongdoing terry was cleared by the nba and these prosecutors revived that non-case terry is not a
03:24gambler but he is not afraid of a fight and he looks forward to winning this fight and that is
03:29jim trustee terry rogier's attorney it's unfortunate here's the here's the shady part of what goes on
03:39is that they'll question you and they tell you one thing and you know you're giving answers or
03:48whatever have you and again there's a difference in being questioned and then being a suspect
04:00and they gave no indication at any point in time that he was a suspect then turn around and get
04:07arrested i don't know if they found out additional information found out he wasn't being you know
04:13truth truthful in his statements don't know what the issue was but they kind of maybe gave him that
04:22false sense of security on purpose right i don't know i don't know i just know that from what we were
04:30hearing from his laurie and him they had a conversation they said hey if you need any more
04:35questions if you have any more questions you can come to us we'll answer them next thing you know
04:39he's arrested so it must have been something they found out or some information they got as they kept
04:47you know investigating that oh no we were interviewing him as you know uh a person with information or a
05:00person of interest to now a suspect right right yeah and if and if this whole thing is to you know
05:07manipulate lines and betting it's a big no-no no-no in sports so i don't know man it's obviously an
05:15awful situation and then for the heat standpoint you know you got to think for the here's the other
05:20thing too i feel you know i it's it's sad for terry terry's you know got to deal with all this now
05:26but then you also think about the team like that's that's a messed up situation dude you're with terry
05:30a lot of these guys are close to terry on the team and you just saw one of your teammates get
05:36taken away in handcuffs and it's plastered all over like like i said this is like i i gotta feel
05:41like eric spulcher had to be screaming into his pillow when this happened because it's like he
05:45just was what were they hoping for more than anything this year just a normal year right and
05:50i know this didn't happen with the heat but now it is currently affecting the heat and the people in
05:55that organization um and and that's it's just that's a crazy thing that you got to deal with here's
06:00what's unfortunate that the miami heat or upstanding organization that usually don't even associate
06:11with people that they think or not you know heat yeah and yeah but they've had a pretty bad run of
06:22stuff and i'm not saying i'm not blaming anybody but let's let's go over what the heat have had this
06:26over the last three years three four years we've had terry rogier arrested on a federal investigation
06:33for gambling we've had a building named after one of the biggest crypto scandals ever they had a heist
06:42of memorabilia of all of their of stuff that was for a museum a heist i think they also had like a uh
06:53they hired like a king's executive who was also stealing from people had nothing to do with them
06:57but they hired him when he was getting caught uh i think i had that right i don't yeah that was
07:02yeah i remember uh and then also uh their star player quit on the team right well that's the the
07:09that's an insane run i would say an organization that likes to say as buttoned up as anybody doesn't
07:17like anything getting out has the same people who have worked there for decades is you there is
07:23people always joke that they're the mafia like it's a you have the godfather run it like we you don't go
07:30against the family and all of these these crazy things have gone around them in the last two plus
07:39years and these headlines that are just like robbery gambling scandal quitting but i would say
07:46just saying it out loud you're probably just thinking to yourself
07:49you know that there's only two of them that really bother them this and jimmy the other stuff
08:00has nothing to do with what's going on on the court and they'll they can always separate that stuff
08:08but when it hits closer to home on the basketball court like the drama with jimmy last year
08:15that was after the start of the drama with terry rogier oh yeah i was also reminded don't forget
08:23about the mcgregor incident yeah that's another thing how can we forget that one just like it just
08:28think about all of that stuff that is that is that has been around that building and you just you
08:34know that they're just like this is this is just not how we typically operate and it's been it has
08:39been like all of the other stuff you're right like only one only two of them have really affected
08:44basketball because that's that's what they but there's a lot of other great people who don't
08:48just do basketball there that i just imagine are just like you have it has to be like yeah you're
08:53driving you you probably are like getting into your car in the in the garage under the building and
08:58screaming just because of all the craziness that has gone on around there it's like why us like

15:35like i just don't understand like with spo right he's a legend okay everybody knows his credentials
15:41i just want to say you know what you can have a complaint without without having to here's my
15:47complaint here's my complaint for for spo and bam okay you guys have now gone winless to start the
15:55regular season a winless preseason you got swept in the playoffs so we haven't tasted victory since
16:02the play-in you were the worst fourth quarter team in the world last year and last and yesterday went
16:10just as on par with everything else tremendous game great back and forth offense was humming
