00:00Buon compleanno mio piccolo uomo
00:08Oh mamma, è gustoso
00:10The movie was born from a very personal experience
00:15It can be theoretical to talk about personal stuff in movies
00:21Yeah, I mean, I think it's good to tell personal stories
00:27I think they connect probably with people
00:30Or they're more likely to connect
00:32Because if you've
00:32Chances are if you have a question or concern in your own life
00:36Other people probably have it too
00:37In this case, my father passed away when I was young
00:40My brother and I don't remember him
00:43And we always wondered who he was and how we were like him
00:45And that idea of what if we could talk to him
00:48What if we could spend a day
00:49I think that hopefully connects with people
00:53Because we've all lost somebody
00:54And we would all maybe want to know
00:56We'll say one more thing or hear one more thing
00:58And that was really the jumping off point
01:01And the movie is full of magical creatures
01:05And it seems to have forgotten that they are magical
01:09Where did the inspiration come from?
01:14Our main character isn't really living up to his potential
01:18Because he's scared and he's comfortable with the way his life is
01:23And we put him in a world where other people were growing a little comfortable with where they were
01:31And not living up to their potential
01:33And that idea is the beginnings of where this magical world came from
01:37That and we needed a world where the boys could bring their father back for the day
01:42And magic felt like the most romanticized way to make that possible
01:46And then we love that it just led to comedy
01:48That seeing these beloved fantasy creatures that are very serious and noble
01:53Just living the lives we're living
01:55And as a director, are there any differences in our work now in Pixar
02:04With anyone who created the direction?
02:06And we've been since pretty much the very beginning
02:10Our films are shared with a group of what we call the brain trust
02:15It's just the other directors
02:18And they've always, as a group, given notes and helped us make the films funnier
02:25Make the films better
02:26And that's continued on all this time
02:30And so we're still learning so much from them and helping each other
02:34And I'm excited too just to see that we're at the beginnings of a new generation of people too
02:42Coming into Pixar
02:43New voices coming up
02:45And I think we're going to see a lot of new original films in the next few years
02:49It's exciting, yeah
02:50As a movie girl, which kind of story would you like to see on the screen?
02:58I like something that gives me everything
03:01Meaning I like to laugh
03:03I like to feel terrified and get caught up in an adventure
03:07And then I love to cry
03:09I love to, I'm a sucker for wanting to walk away from a movie
03:13Feeling some emotion but also feeling a little changed
03:17And feeling a little like I'm looking at the world in a different way
03:22That I've been moved
03:23I think that's just something personally that I love out of a movie experience
03:28And there is a movie from your walk away from the theater
03:33Oh, what's one that I can think of?
03:35Oh boy, you know I don't know why this pops into my head
03:38Other than there was a movie called The Big Sick a while back
03:42And I cried my eyes out
03:45I couldn't stop crying
03:46And I couldn't, it's a beautiful movie
03:48And I couldn't fully figure out why
03:50But I think it was just seeing that the couple come to the
03:54Finally get together in the end
03:56And because it was based on a true story
03:58They cut to a shot at the end of the movie
04:01Of the actual couple married
04:03And finished the story of the parents
04:06Finally, sorry, I'm spoiling this whole movie
04:08Sorry, I'll just say check it out
04:11I could not stop crying
04:13And after the credits I had to sit in a park for five minutes
04:17To get myself together
04:19I know, I saw the movie
04:22In fact, same reaction
04:25Yes
04:25And where is the magic now in our world?
04:29I think, I like in the movie
04:33The magic means potential
04:36You know, Ian's potential
04:38Is his magic
04:39And I think it's with us too
04:41You know, challenging ourselves
04:42To be better people
04:44And be a little more confident
04:48And also supportive of others
04:51I think it's in human behavior
04:52And just being kind to each other
04:55I think that's magical
04:56Thank you
05:08To be continued...
05:11Thank you
05:12For more could you..
05:13Thank you
05:13For more than few years
05:14I'm ready for you
05:14You need to be emerged
