00:00What I liked about Candace is that her journey in the film doesn't follow a predictable path.
00:06So I'd like to ask you if that's what drew you to the role or are there other aspects?
00:13I actually love that. That's really true. Her journey is uniquely her own.
00:19I felt like the whole film was unique in that you start to expect something to happen between these two
00:29people and what happens.
00:31I don't want to spoil it, but what happens is unique in films and everything, our age difference, the characters
00:43themselves.
00:43It was all very original and I loved that.
00:48I also love that I got a chance to play a sport in a movie, which is it's challenging because
00:57you play a sport or you act, but this is putting them together.
01:00And I really enjoyed that.
01:04And the interaction between Candace and Dusty are very, very funny, but they're also very touching.
01:11So how did you and your core star build that chemistry?
01:16Is there any behind the scenes story you can share with us?
01:21Honestly, the chemistry between Jake and I just existed from day one.
01:27We just took one look at each other and started laughing and it continued the whole way through.
01:34We made each other laugh and we were both learning to play together.
01:41He had to play two sports.
01:43He had to learn to play tennis, which he didn't play, and then also pickleball.
01:47And he did a great job of both of those.
01:51And I think it just was a natural thing.
01:57We just really enjoyed each other.
02:01And throughout your career, you acted in film across every genre.
02:06So what currently interests you most about acting and how did the Dink spoke to that interest?
02:17I love to play unique characters that maybe see life a little differently.
02:27I love it if there's something that's hard for me to learn in the movie.
02:33I like puzzles, so for me, the puzzle was learn to play pickleball, bring this character to life, and put
02:43all this together.
02:45I love comedy because I think it's harder than drama.
02:50It's more precise.
02:52It's more delicate.
02:56And I love a great director, and Josh Greenbaum is, I think, increasingly going to be a legend in the
03:06business.
03:07He's just an extraordinary, wonderful director to work with.
