00:00Looking at your filmography, you always play strong and independent woman. How is Janet?
00:10She is incredibly capable and competent and bright. She would have made a great astronaut.
00:19And she's a wonderful mother. She is really one of those people who can pretty much carry on despite what life throws at her.
00:31Yeah, she's a bit cold, you know.
00:34Do you think? Oh dear, that wasn't my aim.
00:37I don't know, not cold in a bad way, but in a good way.
00:41Because she's so strong and, I don't know, she doesn't like to show the, I don't know, the feelings.
00:51I think she grew up in a different time and I think a certain generation, you know,
00:57especially people who had experienced the war in any way, kind of knew the worst that life could throw at you really.
01:05I think in life anyway, we underestimate the fact that most people are going around, kind of, functioning in their lives
01:12without breaking down every five seconds or, you know, it's rare that you see someone kind of crying in the street.
01:17And when you do, it's like...
01:19And so most people are doing the best they can and kind of waking up every day and going to work.
01:24And, you know, I think that's humanity, really.
01:27Yes. Also, the job of the husband is just a job.
01:35She says, I chose him because I want a quiet life and it's not, but it's just a job at the end.
01:47Yeah, it is. That's the thing. It's like everything, you know.
01:51Really, ultimately, what you do for a living is not, it can't define who you are and can't, you know,
01:58and I think that's what Janet really realizes, is that life is happening and it's her children and it's her home
02:03and it's her family as opposed to, you know, landing on the moon.
02:08How is working with a director like Damien? Because he's so talented but he's also so young, so...
02:16Yeah, well, I mean, I think Damien's an old soul and, you know, if anything, you know, his age has got anything to do with it,
02:26it certainly doesn't, you know, his filmmaking is exquisite and he's incredibly talented
02:31and he has an understanding of film and of story and was one of the most generous directors I've ever worked with.
02:40He really gives his actors so much time and space and respects them so much and so...
02:46And he just really is a filmmaker, he just, in his bones, he's just amazing and he's such a lovely person as well.
02:53So I could've Joan the bow had something bad and he's extraordinary.
02:56So that's very beautiful and beautiful.
03:00I'm with Joan the arch academy.
03:10I think that I can be kind of very beautiful and powerful.
03:11I don't know about this.
03:14So I can also say, but here's a beautiful single,
03:17because I'm going to go with guys so little bit of it.
03:19This afternoon never looks long and forward.
