00:00I'm councillor Lulu Bauman, I'm the Executive Member for Highways and Passenger Transport

00:05and we're here today at Junction 10 on the M27 looking at the very exciting project which

00:12is nearing completion with this box slide just behind me here.

00:17I think we're very proud of it, we're very pleased with the way that the work has progressed

00:22but we'd also like to inform the public about when the road closure is going to take place

00:27because we are going to close the motorway for about 10 days from the 24th of December

00:33to the 4th of January. Obviously we appreciate that people have made plans for Christmas

00:38and we want to thank you all very much, all the public very much for perhaps changing their

00:44plans or being very wary or considerate about the times that they might want to travel and

00:51perhaps also the routes that they might want to take to get to their destination during

00:55this 10 days and also maybe using a different form of transport if it's working but we do

01:01appreciate that it may have some impact on people's travel plans for Christmas but it

01:07will mean that we don't have months of motorway disruption and delays for people using the

01:15network.

01:16Junction 10 will become a fully functional junction so I think many of us have used this junction for

01:28years and we're aware that you can't get access to the west or come off from the west, it's very

01:35much sort of from an east, if you're eastbound or trying to get back onto the M27 to go east, this will

01:41enable use from the west and also to go westward from junction 10. There'll be a dual carriageway

01:51under this amazingly and from there it'll be like a gyratory system that will go up to

01:58the various access roads back onto the M27 so you'll no longer have to go to junction 11 in

02:04order to go back westbound.

02:05So when will the works be finally complete?

02:11Next year in the winter, winter 26.
