00:00Samantha Irvin was handed a two-year no-compete by WWE.
00:05A new contract has been given to an on-screen WWE human being.
00:10Find out who that is in a little bit.
00:11And what's the latest on Austin Theory?
00:13Find out that too, a little bit after the previous bit.
00:16So we'll get to the bad contract situation involving Samantha Irvin towards the end of the video.
00:21But first and foremost, good new contract news for Lillian Garcia.
00:24She was on Instagram going,
00:25Oh my goodness me, it's been a year since I returned home to the WWE.
00:29I've been on all these shows.
00:31I've talked into all these microphones.
00:33It's very fantastic.
00:34Yeah.
00:34As she should be.
00:35As she should.
00:36You should be thankful, Lillian.
00:39I didn't mean that at all.
00:41Anyway, she then goes on to reveal at the end of this message where she's waxing lyrical about the year that she's had.
00:48She says,
00:48I'm so excited to announce that just yesterday I signed for another two years with Doree with a little emoji.
00:55None of that is possible without you.
00:57Love you all.
00:58Can't wait to continue riding this journey with you.
01:00See you next Saturday for Saturday night's main event, November the 1st in Salt Lake City, Utah.
01:04Let's go.
01:05I like Lillian Garcia, so I'm happy with this.
01:08I've got no issues with Lillian Garcia.
01:09No issues at all.
01:10It might sound like I did just a second ago when you should be thankful, Lillian Garcia.
01:14Yeah, Lillian.
01:14But that came out my mouth wrong.
01:16She is just, that's obviously nostalgia for us.
01:19Yeah, but she can do it all as well.
01:20She's a fantastic ring announcer.
01:22So I think that it just makes sense.
01:23It's like handing love in it.
01:24She can, if they want to, right, here's an idea.
01:27If they want to have the American national anthem not booed.
01:29Yeah.
01:29In Australia, for example, like happened very recently.
01:32Have Lillian play a bit out.
01:33Get Lillian to do it.
01:33Yeah.
01:34Because we know she can.
01:35That 9-11 episode.
01:36Oh, goodness me.
01:37Heartstrings.
01:38I'm not even American and I was tearing up anyway.
01:40Samantha Irvin news.
01:41Here we go.
01:42Jeremy Michaels, everyone's favourite ex-user.
01:44I don't know who that is.
01:45It's just the guy who said it.
01:46He was just like, my goodness me.
01:47It's Sean's brother?
01:48Yes.
01:48Let's put it out there.
01:49Sean Michaels' brother Jeremy was on Twitter going, goodness me.
01:52It's been one whole year since Samantha Irvin left Doree.
01:55And then she replied with a shocking bit of news, Sam.
01:57Yeah.
01:58She said, one year down, one year left on my non-compete.
02:02Can't wait.
02:03I hope you enjoy my songs in the meantime and look back on all the memories fondly,
02:07sorry, as fondly as I do.
02:08Love and miss you all.
02:09And remember, I never left for music.
02:12I am music.
02:13Hope to see you soon.
02:15Two years for a ring announcer.
02:17Two years.
02:17As fantastic as Samantha Irvin is, let's not forget.
02:20I'm not going to say, I sound like I've got it in for the ring announcers today.
02:23It's not as if she's Roman Reigns or Becky Lynch or whatever.
02:26No, but she was kind of central to a lot of the bigger moments over the last few years.
02:30So it's like, two years.
02:33There's no competition.
02:34The Andrade one was mental.
02:35I was going to say, two.
02:37Two.
02:37Two for Samantha Irvin.
02:39For a non-in-ring competitor.
02:41Yeah.
02:41That's got to be just because she is, of course, married to Ricochet.
02:44And they're putting two together and thinking, oh,
02:46she might be taking the dapper yapper Justin Roberts' job in AEW.
02:48That's got to be what it's down to, surely.
02:51You'd think so.
02:52You know, they've been petty before in the past over things like this.
02:56It's certainly within their wheelhouse to be that petty.
02:59But it just blows my mind that, well, one, the nine-month no-compete anyway,
03:04which historically has been thrown out.
03:06I think Lesnar had it thrown out.
03:07Nine months, you mean 90-day?
03:08Sorry, 90-day.
03:09Yeah, not nine months.
03:09The 90-day no-compete, the three-month one,
03:12has been historically thrown out by people like Lesnar before who've taken it to court.
03:16But it's the battle of getting them to court and having to go through all of that arbitration
03:20for them to then throw it out.
03:22And then now it's like, well, if you've signed it and you've agreed to it,
03:25then so there's a lot up in the air.
03:27But two years for somebody is an astonishing amount of time.
03:31Yeah.
03:31And it's getting out of hand.
03:32You think about the Andrade situation.
03:33He's got a year to go and he was fired.
03:35How can they?
03:36It doesn't seem fair that they would fire you for legitimate reasons that we read,
03:39of course, with the welder's policy violations.
03:40That's fair enough.
03:41But then to slap a whole year no-compete on top of that.
03:43Well, you're not getting paid.
03:44Yeah.
03:44So it's like what David Otunga looked at it and he's like,
03:47yeah, I think if you talk about the court, they would definitely side with Andrade.
03:51So Samantha, pick up the blower and ring David Otunga.
03:53He passed the bar.
03:53He was at Harvard, wasn't he?
03:54So he's a very knowledgeable man.
03:56But I think that it could, in theory, be thrown out.
03:59But I just imagine it's the monumental cost of having to get WWE into court.
04:03And I think with a legal team their size, it's like scary.
04:07Is Jerry McDermott still there?
04:09McDermott's like...
04:10Was it McDermott?
04:11Sorry.
04:11McDermott, I think he's retired as WWE's lawyer.
04:14But I'm assuming they've still got 50 other ones sitting in a cupboard.
04:17The door's slightly ajar.
04:18Because Jerry, if you read the stuff from the 90s, he was unbeatable.
04:20What if he turns face and starts siding with all the released wrestlers?
04:24Who knows what might happen anyway?
04:26I hope Samantha...
04:27I don't know.
04:28Obviously, the music is doing...
04:29Yeah, she's cracking on with her music career.
04:32And I'm sure she'll have a lot more she wants to get done in this time.
04:36But again, just the thought of her not ring announcing for another year.
04:40If she even wants to go back to ring announcing, of course.
04:43But the thought of that for another year is mental.
04:46Mental.
04:47Let us know what you think down below in the comments section, of course.
04:49Going over to the AEW side of the tracks.
04:52Cope has been missing for a little while.
04:53He said to Christian, I need to go home and save my family.
04:56It's because he's got a five-year non-compete.
04:58Every story is just an increasingly larger non-compete today.
05:04Of course, Cage says then back to Cope, I've got no family, so I'll stay here.
05:08Cope says to Cage, you do have family, it's me, sir.
05:12But obviously, this then led to speculation.
05:14The sort of Cope taking himself off TV.
05:16He was going to slot in, have one little match with Cena, and then go back to AEW.
05:20It's what I was seeing people sort of pitching out there.
05:22It would be lovely, but I just don't see it happening.
05:24It was never going to happen.
05:24They're at loggerheads.
05:25They would never do anyone any favours anymore, would they?
05:28No.
05:28Yeah, but Tony Khan's been speaking on Z100 New York.
05:31He did an interview, and he's just basically confirmed what we already knew about Cope
05:35and his situation with AEW.
05:36And I want you to all strap yourselves in, because this is really a quote and a half.
05:39You'd think Meltzer wrote it.
05:41Adam Copeland's a huge part of AEW.
05:43Adam's out filming right now.
05:45He's a huge star in AEW.
05:47We love having Adam Copeland, the rated R superstar, in AEW.
05:50And I'm excited for him to be back in AEW, hopefully soon after this project's done.
05:55And he's taking care of business, and then Adam will come back,
05:57and we'll get Adam Copeland taking care of the business in the ring in AEW.
06:02Yeah.
06:04I love Tony Khan, me.
06:05My brain is like...
06:06He speaks like AI.
06:08It's fantastic.
06:09I'm just like, whoa.
06:11But yeah, I mean, it makes sense.
06:14I don't think there's any way they'd let a star the size of Cope slip through their fingers.
06:17He seems to be having a great time with AEW right now.
06:20Is there money to be made with Cope in the final Cena run?
06:23Of course there is, but there was always going to be that money on the table in a situation like this.
06:28I just don't think that AEW would let him go quite yet.
06:33Why would they?
06:34They've proven that they've used Sting sparingly post-retirement as well.
06:37So it gets to the point where Cope retires, retires.
06:41He's still probably going to pop up every now and then.
06:43You're still going to see him.
06:44So it feels like, I don't know, it's just a better fit for him right now.
06:49Yeah.
06:49I guess the temptation won't be there because a lot of fans would want to see one more Cope or Edge versus John Cena.
06:53I imagine the payday would be something splendid.
06:56Yeah.
06:56But you would think if the shoe was on the other foot and maybe like, I don't know,
06:59who was in AEW at the top of the card, going on a retirement tour,
07:01and there's someone in Dury who maybe wants to have a showcase match.
07:04I don't think Dury would do the deal the other way, if that makes sense.
07:06I don't think so.
07:07So nor should AEW.
07:08Stand up for yourselves.
07:09Yeah, stand up for you.
07:10Fight each other.
07:10For your rights.
07:11So Austin Theory news now.
07:12He's been missing for a long time from television.
07:15There's been talk about trying to get him involved in the war game storyline with The Vision.
07:18Yeah, everybody seems to be gravitating toward Grayson, Waller, Austin Theory.
07:22There's like a few names that everybody's like, ah, yeah, we could see them in The Vision.
07:26And it's starting to bubble more and more away that it feels like it's become more of a reality.
07:30But then Seth Rollins did that move in Australia and it looks like it's all gone kaput.
07:34Yes, Seth Rollins' injury is having a knock-on effect, it would have seemed,
07:37to Austin Theory and his future prospects in The Vision.
07:41What have WrestleVotes been saying there?
07:43So WrestleVotes have reported that several names within WWE are pushing for Theory to remain involved in the creative plans following Rollins' injury.
07:51There's still support for Theory to resurface on WWE TV and in a big way too.
07:56So it feels like they want some form of big statement here.
08:01But they said sources indicate there are still voices within the company pushing to keep Austin Theory involved in the creative plans,
08:06as I said, even after the recent shuffling caused by the injury.
08:10So in my head, is it like, could he come back in a line with Seth?
08:13Is this all one big swerve?
08:15I don't know, because Seth's meant to be out until WrestleMania season, isn't it?
08:17Yeah, there was thoughts it might have been a bit quicker, wasn't there, though, recently?
08:21Maybe he could be the new Seth for Bron and Bron.
08:23Just put, like, fake Diesel.
08:26Stick a beard on his face.
08:27Oh, yeah, he has a beard now, anyway.
08:28But they said the idea of the Theory joining the Vision was at least discussed,
08:31and he still has internal support moving forward to reappear on TV in a significant manner.
08:35Yeah.
08:35So, yeah, it feels like something's bubbling away for Theory in particular, what that is.
08:43I think that it makes sense for him to join, but at the same time,
08:46I kind of want the Vision just to be Bron Breaker and Bronson Reed,
08:50and then eventually Reed's gone, and it's just Bron Breaker, Paul Heyman guy.
08:54Yeah, I think they've built themselves up enough, enough equity,
08:57Bron Breaker and Bronson Reed, just to stand on their own,
08:58because if you have Theory taking over Rollins,
09:01then you're just back to where you were again,
09:02but with someone who, in my opinion, is a fair bit inferior to Rollins on the mic.
09:07Yeah.
09:07Based off what we've seen on the main roster,
09:08personally, I would bring Battleston Theory away from all of that
09:11and just have him be the sort of chicken poo silly heel that we saw in NXT
09:14when he was in the way, because people like that.
09:17Yeah, he was really good at it as well.
09:18I think that, as well, it's like, are we going to get a dueling Vision stable,
09:23you know, where you've got, like, new Vision and original Vision,
09:27but then it's kind of too reminiscent of the Bloodline stuff.
09:30I think it's more strong for maybe Bron to turn on Bronson,
09:33and then you get Seth versus Bron eventually, the massive blow-off.
09:36Yeah.
09:37But, you know, there was all the talk of Lesnar potentially being involved.
09:39I don't think that would work.
09:41There's a lot of names getting sort of thrown out there,
09:44but right now, for me, I'd just like it as the two-man unit,
09:47and then I want Bron Breaker to go on the run of his life.
09:49Yeah, which he will do.
09:51Because you can't bring him in and, you could bring him in and do the,
09:53you know, the Lesnar debut, which is what I thought they were going to do.
09:56I thought he was going to turn up and have the title within a year
09:58and just be, like, massive.
10:00But it feels more slow burn,
10:02and I think that everybody already sees him as a massively credible threat.
10:06So let it slow burn.
10:07Let it build until it gets to a point where we've got this really tantalizing match,
10:11and then put a nice big stip on it and have it be absolutely brutal.
10:15Yeah.
10:15What about Austin Theory chat?
10:17Let us know in the comments down below.
10:19So I would have him come back on his own.
10:21That's where I'm settling.
10:21You're having him back on his own?
10:22Yeah, I reckon on his own.
10:24I think there's definitely potential there.
10:25He's young enough.
10:25It's just the neat to get him in the right role.
10:27Yeah.
10:28Because what we've seen over the past couple of years has not been the right role.
10:30He's been salmon inside of a wrap.
10:34I was trying to go for a bread analogy, and I've not worked it.
10:37We'll end the video there.
10:37I've been Ross joined by Sam.
10:39Things are coming up.
