The Turkish unmanned fighter Bayraktar KIZILELMA has successfully completed its first flight equipped with the national MURAD 100-A AESA radar, developed by ASELSAN.
The announcement was made by Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of Baykar, who highlighted the technological breakthrough and the significance of the test for Turkish defence aviation. The system had already been integrated into modernised F-16s and the AKINCI TİHA, and now confirms its compatibility with the KIZILELMA — the country’s first jet-powered unmanned combat aircraft.
ASELSAN emphasised the achievement in an official statement: “Bayraktar KIZILELMA, MURAD 100-A ile çok daha güçlü,” meaning “KIZILELMA is much stronger with the MURAD 100-A.”
The multifunction radar provides simultaneous air-to-air and air-to-ground modes, featuring long-range search, multiple-target tracking, SAR mapping, ISAR maritime detection and resistance to electronic interference.
The MURAD 100-A marks a milestone in Türkiye’s technological self-reliance in advanced combat sensors, positioning the country among the few nations capable of fully developing and integrating state-of-the-art AESA radars on both manned and unmanned aircraft.
