00:00The questions around the Philadelphia Eagles are nonstop.
00:06Well, what about now?
00:07Because Jalen Hurts, for those who might have missed it, 19 of 23, 326 passing yards,
00:15three passing touchdowns, no interceptions, 14.2 yards per attempt, and a perfect,
00:23literally perfect passer rating, Jalen Hurts with an MVP performance,
00:28the best quarterback performance of the season in the big time when the Eagles needed.
00:33Yeah, and he needed it, right?
00:34I mean, that defense was coming after him in terms of Minnesota.
00:37They stepped up, A.J. Brown ate, Devontae Smith ate, 173, I believe, receiving yards,
00:43the most in Eagles history to one point.
00:46I mean, just dynamic chunk plays is what you saw.
00:49And when the game was on the line, would we have another third down?
00:52They blitz him, and he throws a dime to A.J. Brown to seal the deal for the victory.
00:56Big picture, what does this mean for the Philadelphia Eagles?
01:00They got an MVP quarterback, and I think we've been saying that from time and time again,
01:04that he doesn't get enough credit like Josh Allen, like Lamar Jackson, or like Pat Mahomes.
01:11I've been in with you in saying that Jalen Hurts is a winner.
01:15There's been no denying that throughout his career.
01:18I mean, I agree.
01:19Like, when he came out of Oklahoma, he was a little bit raw,
01:21but he has developed now to be one of the most premier quarterbacks in the league.
01:26And when the game is on the line, he's going to find a way to get it done.
01:29I think the biggest thing for me is locker room.
01:33I didn't hear a peep after that game yesterday.
01:35I mean, you know, A.J. Brown obviously was happy because, you know, he got his,
01:41but they're still doing it without Saquon Barkley ripping off 180 yards in the game.
01:46Right?
01:47And I think that's important as well.
01:48When we look at the development of this team, they now, if they do start to develop
01:53and get back to the rushing attack, they are still going to be the team to beat.
01:57I believe the defense will bounce back into form,
02:00and I still believe from an offensive line perspective, they will find and get it right.
02:05I just wish I saw Jalen Hurts rush a little bit more and take that game over you yesterday.
02:11Yeah, so this is a really, look, this is a really fun one for me as someone who is an Eagle fan,
02:18but as someone who has been screaming amidst some of the muck around the conversation around the Eagles
02:24that people who are starting their analysis and blame with Jalen Hurts
02:29are doing it because they have priors that tell them they don't like Hurts.
02:33This has not been a situation around Jalen Hurts.
02:35It's not.
02:36And I think for the Eagles, it is very encouraging to win a game like this
02:41because it, beyond a shadow of a doubt now, shows you can.
02:48Now, they've already answered that, Bell, because they quite literally did it in the Super Bowl,
02:51but it's a new year, so do it again and again and again and again, and they did it, right?
02:57A perfect passer rating, a buck 83 for Devonta, like you said, 121 for A.J. Brown,
03:02three passing touchdowns.
03:04They should all be happy.
03:06Here's the thing for Philadelphia.
03:08I think they still have to clean up the defensive side of the football a little bit
03:11because it was elite last year, and it's not that right now.
03:16And here is the question, because this is a very odd situation that we have here.
03:23And I, you know, again, right, this is where, like, I don't want to have to come down on Saquon,
03:29but everyone is so quick to blame Hurts.
03:32We've not had real conversations around Barkley.
03:35Why do I say all of this?
03:37Finally, the Philadelphia Eagles this year had a game where they passed at a high level,
03:42scored at a high level, won the football game, and Barkley was still terrible.
03:48Right.
03:48So, what are, what is, what are we doing with Saquon?
03:53Is the Eagles rush blocking this bad?
03:56Is Saquon this, is he rattled?
04:00Is he not seeing the field?
04:02Because, Joe, you know this, one of my favorite bets was over his attempts.
04:06If you would have told me I got there and he went under 50, I'd have been stunned.
04:09That's what happened.
04:11It's just, it's, he's still, he didn't have a run of 10 in the game, much less 20.
04:15I think teams are making a concerted effort this year to take him out of the game plan,
04:20which is why you're seeing a little bit more them be more pass happy in recent games
04:26than what they've maybe liked to have been with Kellen Moore.
04:29I think that's another part of it as well, is that we have an offensive game and play caller
04:33that's evolving from week to week.
04:36Yeah.
04:36And maybe there is more of a precedence on developing the passing attack
04:41because they know they can run it when they have to.
04:44Meaning if they get to the playoffs, right?
04:48Or when they get to the playoffs in that type of situation.
04:51I did feel that just from the numbers perspective,
04:54Saquon would take a step back regression wise.
04:57Everyone did.
04:57Right, right.
04:58Yes.
04:58So, so, and you want to put it.
05:00Right, this is jarring because we're not even seeing Jalen Hurts run
05:04outside the tush push.
05:06There's no designed RPOs in the game whatsoever.
05:09Justin.
05:09Jeff.
05:10DeRue you.
05:19Jeff.
05:19DeRue you.
