00:00The Eagles getting a 16-9 victory over the Detroit Lions,
00:03and Joe, understandably,
00:06singing the praises of this Eagles performance,
00:09and defensively, every single ounce of it is warranted.
00:14And Jake Elliott, too.
00:17Outside of that, we've got some questions.
00:20Lane Johnson has basically been the most important Eagle for a decade,
00:24and whenever he is out there,
00:26the offense always ends up on uneven footing,
00:28and he may be out now for over a month moving forward for Philadelphia.
00:33They're going to have to figure something out.
00:35But when we evaluate this Eagles team,
00:37we try and figure out what are the biggest issues.
00:40The run game still cannot get fully going.
00:44Saquon Barkley with another game under 3.5 yards per carry.
00:51Jalen Hurts does not seem to be the most willing runner.
00:55I think you can give that a pass
00:57because it's the regular season,
00:59and we see the great quarterback save some of that for the postseason.
01:02It feels noteworthy.
01:05Nick Sirianni took his very questionable decision against Green Bay
01:10and quadrupled down on it with decisions against the Lions yesterday.
01:15They weren't questionable.
01:16They were flatly incorrect and insane.
01:19And I am, I have to be the premier Sirianni guy.
01:23Lee C's the Eagles guy.
01:24I'm the Sirianni guy.
01:25That was a mess.
01:27But for me, when I look at this game,
01:30what was most unsettling is for not the first time this year,
01:35they were on the, here, fine, will this get you happy?
01:38Offense to A.J. Brown.
01:40And unsurprisingly, the results were bad.
01:44He's quitting on deep balls down the field,
01:46and people will say, oh, the passing game to A.J. Brown
01:49is the only one that worked.
01:50Jalen Hurts actually averaged more yards per attempt
01:55when targeting the rest of the team,
01:59despite a significantly lower completion percentage in those games.
02:04A.J. Brown, will he be satisfied off this one?
02:08I assume not.
02:09But this Philadelphia Eagles team has got to get this under control
02:15because they're not even out there playing real games.
02:18They are, they are almost practicing, Joe,
02:23in an attempt to appease A.J. Brown.
02:27And they're not, these are not real plays.
02:30It's not real offense.
02:31It's muddy.
02:32It's messy.
02:33And it leaves Philly vulnerable back-to-back weeks in games
02:37with that defensive effort they should not be vulnerable in.
02:41No, they shouldn't, Kevin.
02:44You're right.
02:44I mean, I'm watching that game in first drive.
02:47A.J. Brown is targeted, what, basically almost two or three times,
02:52you know, in multiple back-to-back drives.
02:55They did try to force feed him.
02:57And maybe at the end of the day, Sirianni is tired of hearing it.
03:02He wants to feed his playmaker.
03:04But I will say this.
03:05I think the rushing attack eventually will get going.
03:09And I understand Lane Johnson goes out in the first quarter of that matchup.
03:13They have implemented Tank Bigsby in certain sets.
03:17He's a dominant runner that could help out Saquon Barkley
03:21if they start running more out of passing sets, right?
03:24And again, what does this offense look like in a playoff type of environment
03:29if A.J. Brown is not getting, let's say, what, 10 or 11 targets per game?
03:37You know, if they beat, I don't know, let's say they beat the Rams,
03:41you know, in their first game and they win by 15 points,
03:44but A.J. has three catches for 40 yards.
03:47Is he going to quit on the NFC Championship run?
03:51That's what you have to worry about now.
03:54Again, I still think they're okay.
03:56I think they've rallied around this situation.
03:59Yes, to a degree, they force-fed him,
04:02but I also think that they sort of went to the Detroit weaknesses in the back end,
04:07and that's why they dialed it up.
04:09But it doesn't change my assessment on Nick Sirianni, Kevin,
04:15and the Philadelphia Eagles.
04:16I think entering week number 12,
04:19I think they still are the most complete team in the NFL
04:22with all of the sidelines
04:25and with all of the storylines surrounding A.J.
04:28and everything you can maybe assume injury-wise,
04:31this team is still built for a Super Bowl run.
