00:00Welcome, and thank you for joining me today. During the offseason the Fever aimed to enhance
00:05their roster by acquiring several seasoned players who possess championship experience,
00:10intending to support their younger athletes. Among these new signings was Sidney Coulson,
00:14a point guard who boasts two championship titles and over 10 years of experience in the WNBA.
00:21Coulson was specifically brought in to serve as a backup for all-star Kaitlin Clark.
00:26Amber Cox, the Fever's COO and general manager, expressed her enthusiasm about Coulson's signing,
00:32stating, Sidney is a proven veteran in our league and throughout her career,
00:36delivered for her teams in many big moments. She brings a championship pedigree to the Fever,
00:42adding depth to our point guard position. We have the utmost confidence in her ability to step into
00:47any situation and deliver on both ends of the floor. In her inaugural season with the Fever,
00:53Coulson established herself as a reliable player. After Clark suffered a groin injury just four
00:59games into the season, Coulson stepped up into the starting role and played a crucial part in
01:04leading the Fever to two victories at the start of the Commissioner's Cup competition.
01:08Upon Clark's return, Coulson continued to contribute effectively. Coulson continued to make significant
01:14contributions off the bench, achieving a season high of 10 points and 6 assists during a victory
01:19against New York on June 14. Throughout the season, Coulson participated in 30 games before
01:24a season-ending injury occurred on August 7 in Phoenix. In 21 of those games, she played for over
01:3010 minutes. She demonstrated her reputation as a fierce defender and a player who prioritizes the team.
01:36Despite it being her first season with Indiana, Coulson quickly became one of the most respected and
01:41cherished figures in the locker room. Head coach Stephanie White remarked that she viewed Coulson
01:46as a coach on the floor due to her extensive experience, knowledge, and ability to earn the
01:51respect of her teammates. Coulson's lively personality also resonated well with her teammates
01:57and coaches, as she kept everyone entertained and even showcased her comedic talent during a stand-up
02:02performance at Feverfest during the WNBA All-Star event in Indianapolis. Clark praised Coulson,
02:08stating,
02:08She serves as a steady presence, skillfully balancing moments of fun and humor with the
02:19seriousness required to maintain focus. Additionally, she has previous experience with victory,
02:24understanding the necessary elements to achieve success. Coulson's season took a tragic turn when
02:30she tore her left ACL just moments after entering the game in Phoenix. Despite being sidelined for the
02:35remainder of the season, Coulson made a comeback after her surgery and continued to be a significant
02:40source of support for the Fever during their journey to the WNBA semifinals. What are your
02:45thoughts on this inspiring journey?
