00:24Это было удачно на сборку,
00:26и он это за свои аэши.
00:27That was against their best on the outside AJ Terrell but Jennings I'm a huge fan of the guy I thought a couple of years ago when they were in the Super Bowl. Yep. He was going to be MVP of the game. I scored a touchdown through a touchdown pass was blocking like a madman everywhere on the field. I became an immediate fan of his watching that one Super Bowl.
00:45Toss. McCaffrey.
00:51Third penetration that time. It's going to be a loss of four. It started with Leonard Floyd, the former 49er who's seen that in practice during his year with San Francisco. And then the rest of the posse came together including Xavier Watts.
01:05Anytime you're working outside you want your guys to get the penetration. You could tell just because McCaffrey had to bend back a little bit gave everybody a chance to catch up. And Leonard Floyd that guy has had eight and a half sacks or more in each of the last five years. He's not going anywhere. He's still a major factor.
01:25Here's the Rams. The Rams, the Bills, Niners. Of course, drafted by the Bears. Second and 14.
01:33Complete to the 14-yard line. It's Juszczek and the fans let you know that.
01:38As Kyle Juszczek catches his 12th pass of the year and gets us to the two-minute warning in this absolutely express mode first half in Santa Clara.

07:16This wide nine coming out here.
07:19Watch him just rip right past the tackle of the Atlanta Falcons.
07:23Elijah Wilkinson.
07:25And then still stay on that path.
07:27He took the hit.
07:28Stayed on the path.
07:29And really is beginning to break this game now.
07:33The San Francisco 49ers at least so far.
07:35They have come to play.
07:38Fourth sack of the year for Huff.
07:41The veteran who was with Robert Sala.
07:43With the Jets.
07:44And comes over here after his year with Philadelphia.
07:48Part of that Super Bowl team.
07:49But inactive.
07:51So.
07:53The Niners will take over at the 40 yard line.
07:55Remember they just scored.
07:56Get the turnover.
07:57They get the ball.
07:58To start the second half.
07:59So this might be the key stretch of this game.
08:05From the 40.
08:07Mac Jones.
08:10Hendrick Boyd.
08:11Former New England teammate.
08:12In a four to the 36 yard line.
08:15Melissa.
08:16Yeah Mike.
08:17This 49ers offense playing without their starting center.
08:19Jake Brendel.
08:20He has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
08:23Taking his spot in the lineup.
08:24Matt Hennessey.
08:25The former Falcon.
08:27Brendel down here on the sideline.
08:28In a baseball hat.
08:29Hennessey played for the Falcons from 2020 to 2024.
08:33Special teams only this year has not played.
08:35So we have a few guys seeing their first scrimmage snaps because of injury in this first half.
08:41Now the 50 seconds left McCaffrey.
08:43Oh.
08:44Good hand out there.
08:45To knock that away.
08:47Maybe preventing a big gain.
08:49David on Yamada's left arm saves the day.
08:52Yeah and what we saw on the prior snap to this one Mike was that J.D. Bertrand who was the backup linebacker in there playing for Divine Diablo was in man coverage against Christian McCaffrey.
09:07That's a major mismatch.
09:08We have J.D. Bertrand who's only had one defensive snap coming into this game all year.
09:13Somebody up in the booth has definitely seen that.
09:16Let's see if they try to get that matchup.
09:18And he cut.
09:20So it's third and sixth.
09:22Falcons brings four.
09:23And they get to Joe's and the ball comes out and bounces into the hands of the Niners' Connor Colby.
09:29It'll be fourth down.
09:31It's a two-minute inside of two-minute fumble.
09:34So it'll come back to the spot of the fumble because it cannot be advanced.
09:37Leonard Floyd again with the pressure.
09:40Rolling on the field as if the ball was fumbled by the quarterback.
09:43Recovered by his teammate.
09:46The ball will be brought back to the spot of the fumble.
09:49It'll be fourth down.
09:50The fumbler the one who can do it there.
09:52And the fumble brings up fourth down.
09:54The old wide nine here.
09:56Jim Washburn's defense.
09:58He used to run in Detroit.
09:59But they basically take their speed rushers and line them up three or four yards outside.
10:04And basically just crash as hard as they can down inside.
10:09Made the play there.
10:11So we have a review here.
10:13And now Ron Torbert's going to come over to take a look as well on the tablet as game day central in New York.
10:29We'll look at it as well.
10:31And the replay booth here.
10:32Was this a pass?
10:34Did they have control of it going forward?
10:36That's what they'll try to determine here.
10:44After review, the quarterback's hand was coming forward with control of the ball.
10:49It is a forward pass.
10:50It was touched by the defense and then caught by San Francisco number 75.
10:54The ball will be dead where that player was tackled.
10:59It will be San Francisco's ball fourth down.
11:01So it ends up legally in the hands of Connor Colby, the lineman.
11:04And it really saves them enough yardage that it becomes a 55, 56-yard field goal attempt here for San Francisco.
11:12Because the spot of the fumble, Chris, was back outside the 40-yard line.
11:19It would have been a longer field goal.
11:21For sure.
11:22Probably a punt.
11:23Yeah, you're right.
11:24So Eddie Pinero now is going to get a chance at a field goal of about 55 yards.
11:29Remember his extra point shaved the upright a moment ago.
11:34But also remember a miss here.
11:37And Atlanta gets the ball right there on the 45.
11:39And a timeout.
11:41Pinero who plays Jake Moody.
11:43He's cut at the start of the season.
11:45Tries this in 55.
11:48And Pinero knocks it through.
11:52So the review and the saved yardage significantly benefits San Francisco here.
12:00As Pinero has hit his fifth 50-plus-yard field goal.
12:05And the turnover turns it to three points.
12:07Niners lead 10-3.
12:08We're back at 30 seconds after this from AWS.
12:15Jake Moody is now kicking for Chicago.
12:17He's actually done well the last few weeks.
12:19But they brought in Eddie Pinero and Chris.
12:20He's now 16 of 16 on field goals this year.
12:24This one extra point, his first kick of the year.
12:26And that's been it.
12:27He has been absolutely perfect.
12:30And he's one of the few kickers we've ever interviewed with NBC.
12:34And it was entertaining as it could possibly be.
12:38He is fired up and he is bound to home.
12:40He likes the weather right here in San Francisco.
12:43And you saw the margin that cleared the crossbar.
12:46That review saved him a few yards and gave him a chance.
12:49Now this is muffed by Agnew.
12:51Who's trying to speed to it.
12:53Got back on it.
12:54And gets crunched at the 20-yard line.
12:56That's the team's coverage by Malik Turner.
13:00Active for the game here today.
13:03Did a good job with special teams as other stops around the league.
13:06But the Pinero kickoff was hard for Agnew to get to.
13:09Where there's no worse feeling than now and right there.
13:14When you know there's 11 guys coming down and you put the ball on the ground.
13:19Interesting to see what they're going to do.
13:20This has been a very disjointed half for this Atlanta Falcons offense.
13:25But still plenty of time to work it down the field here if you're confident.
13:3032 seconds and a timeout.
13:32Luzman up front it seemed but no flag.
13:35And the throw is complete to the 40-yard line to Drake London.
13:39So 19 to London gets the Falcons going on this drop.
13:42And the other part of this is I think that you have to constantly remind yourself
13:48that there is a major gap in the middle of the field with no Fred Warner.
13:52That guy has covered more mistakes for the San Francisco 49ers defense
13:56over the last 10 years than anybody.
13:59There will be some in-cut opportunities to make plays.
14:0337 seconds left.
14:04Penix drifting.
14:05Now using that big power score.
14:07And traffic Mooney.
14:08Not tackled.
14:10Stays on his feet to the 22-yard line.
14:13Will the Falcons use that timeout?
14:14Yes.
14:15They'll bang their last timeout.
14:16Make it a second back on the clock.
14:1838 to Darnell Mooney.
14:22There were a lot of wiggles in that route right there.
14:25Darnell Mooney going to go out, up, out, up.
14:27And then finally just give him a chance on the outside.
14:30They have missed him out with a hamstring injury a week ago.
14:34But everybody talks about Michael Penix and his ability to work the ball outside the numbers.
14:41He has one of the strongest arms.
14:43There is no throw that you scratch off your list and go, I don't want my young quarterback making that throw.
14:50You want him making those deep throws down the field like that.
14:54That is his specialty.
14:55That was on the backup corner, Bruder, who is in for Bernardo Green, who is out with a toe injury.
15:04No timeouts left for the Falcons.
15:0617 seconds until halftime.
15:08He worked pits on outs a lot when he's in the slot position.
15:14Penix.
15:15Now Flush can't take a sack and throws it away.
15:20Way away.
15:22There's no receivers over there.
15:24And there's going to be a question about where he was in terms of the pocket.
15:29If it is grounding, there's a 10-second runoff, and there's 10 seconds left, so the half would be over.
15:34And the flag was dropped here.
15:37So this might end the half.
15:41Because Atlanta doesn't have a timeout to buy themselves out of the 10-second runoff.
15:47It was really close.
15:48The question is, that tackle box, was he out of there?
15:54Flag dropped.
15:55Conversation with the officials on what everybody saw.
15:58And if this is grounding, it's halftime.
16:02Intentional grounding.
16:04Offer, number nine.
16:06The quarterback was in the pocket through the ball when there was no receiver.
16:10That's a spot now, and lots of down.
16:13Also, it was a 10-second runoff.
16:15That is the end of the first half.
16:17Well, for the second straight week, Atlanta, on the verge of trying to score points at the end of the half,
16:23and they come up with very odd finishes.
16:26London didn't get to the end zone last week.
16:30And here, Penix, you watch the virtual tackle box, we've got the line in,
16:34and the clock stops when the ball hits the ground.
16:35It hits the ground at 10, thus the 10-second runoff, and halftime.
16:38Here's Melissa.
16:39Kyle, unusual situation just there, but you're without your two stars on defense.
16:44What have you liked from your rookie defense tonight?
16:46I just love how hard they're playing.
16:48They've given up a couple plays, but they've kept their resilience and kept them out of the end zone.
16:51Getting that turnover was huge.
16:53The two sacks are huge.
16:54Love how they're playing right now.
16:55Offensively, no points before the two-minute warning, 10 points after.
16:59What changed?
17:01Nothing.
17:01I think we had the ball three times.
17:03I think we had it once.
17:04We moved it well.
17:05We're running the ball well.
17:06We just got to score in the red zone when we get down there.
17:07Kyle, thanks.
17:08Thank you.
17:08Trying to keep pace with the Rams atop the division who won earlier this morning in London.
17:13San Francisco, we send you cross-country to Maria Taylor and the Toyota Halftime.
17:19Maria.
17:20Appreciate it, Mike.
17:21Coming up on the Toyota Halftime, the Broncos came back from down 19 points to beat the Giants
17:26after not scoring in the first three quarters at all.
17:29And Dak Prescott got his number one receiver back as the Cowboys picked up a big divisional win.
17:34That's all next.
17:34Have a game-day snack in the oven?
17:39Just tell Siri.
17:41Set a timer for 15 minutes.
17:49Tonight's first-half coverage is presented by Progressive.
17:53What a Sunday night.
17:58We've got a running back extravaganza out here tonight.
18:01The Falcons, the 49ers.
18:04Oh, what a cut by Robinson.
18:06And it gets better here.
18:08Off the hands of Jennings and Ellis comes up with the interception.
18:11It's going to be fun to watch.
18:12McCaffrey inside.
18:14Into the end zone.
18:20Progressive.
18:21Insurance for coverage you can count on.
18:25Set for quarter number three.
18:27As San Francisco has the lead.
18:2910-3 over Atlanta tonight's SNF.
18:32Storylines are powered by AWS.
18:33We compare the quarterbacks.
18:35Michael Penix.
18:37Better yardage numbers.
18:38Mack Jones has that one interception.
18:40But did do a nice job on that long drive that led to the touchdown.
18:44The head-to-head running back comparison.
18:45Advantage.
18:46Christian McCaffrey.
18:47Especially on the ground.
18:49And we'll dive into those 76 rushing yards.
18:51And how they've come about in this next-gen stat powered by AWS.
18:5560 yards between the tackles.
18:57That's the most in the game for McCaffrey since 2022.
19:01And before contact, 24 yards.
19:03The most in any game this season.
19:06As McCaffrey's had his best rushing game so far in 2025.
19:10Already in the first half with those 76 yards.
19:14And I think the Falcons are going to have to play a little bit of that same game.
19:18They want to throw it outside and run outside.
19:21They got to do what the 49ers are doing.
19:22Work the middle of the field in the passing game and the running game.
19:26Third quarter begins.
19:27Bradley Pinion with the kickoff.
19:28And it's Scott Moore from the two.
19:31And Moore.
19:32He was getting ahead of steam.
19:35He's down at the 32.
19:36And here's Melissa.
19:37Raheem, you lost the opportunity for points at the end of the first half.
19:41What did you say to your young quarterback?
19:43You know, right there, you know, the ball landed with one second left.
19:46We had the 10-second runoff.
19:47We felt like it should have been one second.
19:48Had a time to kick the field goal.
19:50It was a great job by the young quarterback just putting him in that position.
19:52We'll grow.
19:53We'll learn from those moments.
19:54But we've got to get the points right there.
19:55You told us you're so happy with how the team takes information, applies it to the game.
19:59So what was the message to the defense?
20:01This is your moment right here.
20:02Let's go out here and take this moment.
20:04It's a great reality that we play in this sport.
20:05We know we're playing a high, upscale team.
20:08Everybody's going to go win this game.
20:09Thanks for him.
20:10Thank you.
20:10And a hit there by J.D. Bertrand, who's in for Divine Diablo, gets Christian McCaffrey
20:15and limits the game on first.
20:17Now we've had injuries on both sides, missing some key players here.
20:20We'll document that.
20:21For the Atlanta Falcons, though, Chris, off the win, they beat Buffalo last week.
20:25At home, this is a momentum opportunity that may be slipping by.
20:28It really is, and it's a sign of a youthful, inexperienced team.
20:34When you get teams down and you're getting on a roll and you go on the road and you look
20:38at the 49ers and they've got injuries here and injuries there, you've got to take advantage
20:43of it.
20:43And right now, the Atlanta Falcons are blowing a big opportunity.
20:47Take on that toss.
20:48Mac Jones in some trouble escaping out of the pocket.
20:51They'll just get rid of it incomplete.
20:53That's what Michael Penich was trying to do before, and it turned out to be a disastrous
20:57play.
20:58Let's go back to last Monday night against Buffalo.
21:00This was this opportunity for Drake London.
21:03Knew the clock was running down, tried to get to the end zone, got bumped out of bounds.
21:06They got no points out of that.
21:08And then tonight, watch when the ball hits the ground.
21:10That's when the clock stops exactly at 10 seconds, grounding 10-second runoff at halftime.
21:16If that was less of a looping pass and saved a second or two, they may have had chances
21:20to get points, learning opportunities, but blown opportunities for Atlanta.
21:27Now their defense has a chance.
21:29Get the Niners off the field.
21:31It's third and nine.
21:32Jones in the middle.
21:33Complete Kendrick Bourne.
21:35Going to get the yardage for the first down.
21:37Forward progress at the 43.
21:40That's what Kendrick Bourne likes to do.
21:43No matter the score, he likes to dance after a play.
21:46Terrific by Mac Jones.
21:47He sees this coming, and he's just going to throw it right where the blitzer came from.
21:51That's exactly what you want to do.
21:54Defensively, you have to try to cover when you blitz, and there will be opportunities.
21:58So good start here already for Mac Jones.
22:01Got unlucky on the one interception early, the tip ball, but he hasn't let it bother him yet.
22:06Big to McCaffrey, deep drop, first look covered, over to Scott Moore, who escapes, and Moore to the 41-yard line.
22:20Nice job by Scott Moore after the catch, just his second of the season, and his best play from scrimmage with the Niners.
22:28I remember watching Scott Moore in college and thinking, a little Julian Edelman, right?
22:33He was that sort of guy doing all the dirty work inside, but tremendous with the ball in his hand, ability to make people miss, two force-miss tackles on that one.
22:43No Brendan Ayuk, no Ricky Pearsall as well.
22:46The first-round pick from last year, missing his third straight game with a knee injury.
22:50Between the tackles, McCaffrey for about four yards.
22:54That's Caden Ellis there on the stop.
22:57Marquez Valdez-Scantling was part of the receiver corps last week for the Niners.
23:01He's been put on injured reserve with a calf injury, and that's been the story for Kyle Shanahan all year.
23:06All these different puzzle pieces, putting them back together.
23:09Yeah, and he was really getting frustrated with his receivers as well.
23:14And it wasn't that they didn't show effort.
23:17It was that they didn't really understand the offense and how much time they spend in the offense
23:21developing all the different protection and blocking schemes of this offense, and they just couldn't get it.
23:29So now we're seeing a much better version of that.
23:33McCaffrey inside 4-2.
23:35We mentioned that Divine Diablo, the inside linebacker for Atlanta, is out for the rest of the game.
23:39Same true.
23:40Jake Brendel, the center for the 49ers with his hamstring injury.
23:44So it is Matt Hennessey, as Melissa mentioned, familiar to Falcon fans, 61, who's playing center for San Francisco.
23:52Not nearly as much play action as there used to be in this offense,
23:57and we really haven't seen Kittle as a part of the passing game yet.
24:01I wonder now if he comes into play.
24:04McCaffrey inside, first down, dragged down by Watts as he gets to the 14-yard line.
24:12Watch this.
24:18Poonick is going to be way out in front of this thing.
24:21The play was supposed to go left, but McCaffrey with such great vision actually went opposite the design of the play
24:28and taking full advantage of it.
24:31And right now the Falcons are really struggling without Diablo in the middle.
24:35This is a different-looking defense.
24:3795 yards.
24:38McCaffrey's a little bit.
24:39Brian Robinson in.
24:41Play action.
24:42Kittle.
24:43He's going to bring it in.
24:46Fans are waiting to give a big cheer.
24:48George gets his hands on one.
24:49Caden Ellis brought some of the pressure.
24:53Yeah, and that's really what the game's going to have to turn into, I think.
24:56They're going to have to make Ellis a bigger part of it, but that's going to put tremendous pressure on the back end of this defense to play some man coverage.
25:1049ers run for 118 yards here tonight.
25:13Second and 10, Robinson trying to cut back inside the waiting arms of David Onyemata, 10th-year veteran in Canada.
25:23It's college ball Manitoba up there, and it brings up third down, and McCaffrey back in the lineup.
25:29Yeah, and now is when you really would like to try and work the middle of the field.
25:33We talked about the linebackers missing on the part of the 49ers,
25:37but right now you want to see if J.D. Bertrand can cover up that middle of the field, number 40,
25:45see if somebody comes sneaking in there.
25:50Three to the top, pressure comes, firing sideline, Jennings, that second foot not down.
25:56That's incomplete.
25:58Could not get the feet down, it'll be fourth down, and a 43-yard field goal attempt coming.
26:07Now you've got no feet down, I beg your pardon.
26:15Just look at the middle of the field here.
26:17There are opportunities in there for catch-and-run.
26:20This is one of the best catch-and-run teams in the National Football League.
26:24I just think they're going to have to take some of those short, quick, easy ones right inside.
26:28The 43, Pinheiro, two for two on the night, 17 of 17, to start his time with the Niners.
26:41The sixth-year man from Florida knocks it through.
26:44The Niners lead by 10 here at Santa Clara.
26:4716 weeks from tonight, we'll be here for Super Bowl XVI.
26:51Sunday Night Football is brought to you by Hyundai.
27:00Welcome to more of the all-new Hyundai-Palisade Hybrid.
27:03By Progressive Insurance for coverage you can count on.
27:07And by Chewy for Life with Pets, there's Chewy with everything.
27:11Well, these guys do everything.
27:13Their days in college, in Texas, not too far from here, on the farm at Stanford.
27:17And now in the NFL, P. John Robinson, Christian McCaffrey getting that neck looked at.
27:22McCaffrey, 95 rushing yards, 114 yards from scrimmage.
27:281-2 in yards from scrimmage coming in to tonight, those two backs.
27:33On the return, Agnew hit it fast, and there goes Jamal Agnew across midfield.
27:38Into San Francisco territory at the 46 for the former All-Pro.
27:44Maybe that'll wake them up out there.
27:46And so far in this game tonight, we have seen Robert Sala basically take a page out of Jeff Ulbricht's playbook.
27:54Here he is with everybody up at the line of scrimmage going to drop out of it,
27:58but still manage to get pressure in the sack.
28:01This time we're going to go complete overload blitz to Fennick's left side.
28:05They get a free runner, force him to throw that football away,
28:08then just play in basic defense and let their best pass rusher, Bryce Hubb,
28:13go get the quarterback, and I tell you, you have to be impressed
28:18with what Robert Sala's defense has done to this point in the game.
28:22Great field position to start for the Falcons.
28:26At the Niners, 48, counter, Robinson left, Bijon.
28:30Hit it hard, gets a half dozen.
28:31Tackle started by Luter, 28, who is in for Renardo Green,
28:38who is now out for the remainder of the game of the toeing.
28:40It's not a bad play, really, because this 49ers defense is pumped now, right?
28:45They're young, they're aggressive, they've had a good first half.
28:48They've done a good job shutting down this high-flying Atlanta offense.
28:52Number one in the league coming in here,
28:56and at least a little misdirection slowing down just a bit.
29:00This is the leading rushing team in the NFL, second in yards.
29:05As Chris said earlier, trouble converting it to points.
29:08A couple of yards for Robinson on that run.
29:11We'll bring up third down, and that's the man replacing Fred Warner.
29:14Tatum Bethune is settling to that inside linebacker spot.
29:18He really has.
29:20This is a nice look.
29:21Watch him just weave his way.
29:22This is Fred Warner-esque right here.
29:25How many times have we seen Fred Warner?
29:27It just looks like he's sort of sneaking around on Halloween or something,
29:31sneaking up and making that tackle right there.
29:33Yeah, right like that one.
29:34Got him to sit up.
29:35Keeping that leg elevated after the awful injury in Tampa a week ago,
29:42just located broken ankle and surgery.
29:45Third and a long yard for the Falcons.
29:48The back is Tyler Algier.
29:51There he uses power and speed combination to get the first down around the 35-yard line.
29:58We talked about Bethune wearing 48, replacing Warner.
30:01When Warner broke into the league, he wore number 48.
30:05This is Bethune arriving for the game tonight,
30:07and he arrived in Fred Warner's rookie jersey, number 48.
30:12As a matter of fact, Kyle Shanahan showed the team some video of Fred Warner before the dreads,
30:18before he was in number 54, when he was in number 48,
30:21just to show them Fred Warner got here, but he didn't start here.
30:25You guys can go out and make plays at this point in your career,
30:28and I trust you and believe in you.
30:30This play has just been tearing up defenses all over the league,
30:45where you fake the wide receiver screen,
30:47and then just have the wheel route go up the boundary here.
30:51You have one person short,
30:52and any time you have somebody with the kind of arm strength that Penix has,
30:56just put it in there perfectly.
31:03Talked about the struggles for the Falcons in the red zone.
31:06Here they are at the 18.
31:07Robinson to the 10.
31:17A gain of eight on first down.
31:19Mustafa, the tackle, that was technically a run.
31:22Backwards pass.
31:24And so far we've seen a lot of Robinson.
31:27We have seen very little of Drake London, though.
31:30Drake London's such a huge factor in that game a week ago.
31:33You would think this offense would be better in the red zone
31:37with the way they can run it,
31:38and they've got the guys, they've got Tom Pitts,
31:41and they've got Drake London, big jump ball guys that can make plays.
31:44But this has really been their struggle.
31:50Charlie Werner, 89, essentially plays so much fullback role for this Falcons team.
31:56Next to Penix and protecting Robinson.
31:59It's first down, Bijan Robinson.
32:02Touchdown Atlanta.
32:03Oh, the speed and power of Robinson for six.
32:14We have seen this formation, and Christian McCaffrey use it so often.
32:19Right out here, they just flank the running back like he's out wide.
32:23Sometimes they motion him around, throw him the ball the other way.
32:26But basically, Mike, I think it's pretty simple.
32:29Just give the ball number seven.
32:31Yes.
32:31Get out of his way.
32:33You got LeBron James.
32:34Let him play.
32:36He's got a relationship with LeBron.
32:38He's talked to him during the early part of his career.
32:43The point counted through by Parker Romo.
32:46Falcons needed something positive to happen.
32:49It started with the Agnew kickoff return, and then let Bijan carry most of the way down the field.
32:54And into the end zone to make this a three-point game in the third.
32:57And Peacock, happy folks, maybe serving up some apple cider, going to a pumpkin festival.
33:07That was in Half Moon Bay.
33:09We are a couple weeks away from Halloween.
33:11So, oh, that guy revealed his costume, immediately took it off because he didn't like it.
33:18Planning has begun.
33:20Sky Moore from the wall.
33:2125-yard line.
33:29Tagged on that.
33:30Longfield coming for the night.
33:31All right, let's take a look at our next-gen stats, powered by AWS, and it has been the Kittle effect.
33:38Hasn't caught a pass yet in this game, and yet he is the one that has awakened the running game of the San Francisco 49ers.
33:47Is it their traditional outside zone?
33:49No, it is not.
33:50It is Kittle coming out, making big blocks on either side of the line of scrimmage,
33:56and when you put him over there with Trent Williams, it can be a bit intimidating.
34:01It's massive numbers when you get Kittle out there in the run game,
34:04and that's been part of the story historically during the Kittle time here with the Niners.
34:09McCaffrey runs to the left for three yards.
34:13Melissa Moore on George.
34:14Yes, so he was injured week one, went on IR, and missed weeks two to six.
34:17He tore his right hamstring, didn't need surgery.
34:20He told me before the game the biggest thing tonight would be trusting his body,
34:24but he does feel confident in that hamstring.
34:26And I'm sure you can probably hear George saying this.
34:28He told me he will be violently out of shape tonight,
34:31adding there's nothing like getting in shape while playing,
34:34but he said now I can bring the juice.
34:36What's the juice?
34:37You flip a switch, you play violent and crazy, and you have fun.
34:41That's a conversation with George Kittle for those of you who've never had the pleasure.
34:45In a nutshell.
34:46McCaffrey, great move.
34:48And he gets close to, and now has the first down.
34:52Took the contact.
34:53Let's see, marked him out.
34:54He's going to be out with his foot at the 34.
34:57Thought he stayed in there for a second.
35:00But a terrific second effort by McCaffrey to get very close to the first down.
35:04Well, and that's what makes these two running backs what they are.
35:08That you flip them out, a pass to the outside foot out of bounds short of the first down,
35:14and they make the first guy miss.
35:15We've seen both of these guys do it all season long.
35:19That's the reason they just keep attacking until somebody can make a tackle and stop it.
35:24So it's third and a yard to go inside.
35:25Juszczyk gets stopped the first time, and the rest of the Falcons come to clean it up.
35:30Xavier Watts, the rookie out of Notre Dame, leading the charge after the push inside did give Juszczyk the opportunity to get the first down.
35:41Big stop for the Falcons.
35:42As good as that play was up front for the Atlanta Falcons, it was Xavier Watts who really saved the day, Mike.
35:50You called it perfectly, and that tackle was squared up.
35:53They feel like they have an absolute gem in Xavier Watts.
35:56He's turned into more of the deeper free safety, letting Jesse Bates come down and freeing a little havoc in there.
36:04Yeah, shout out Zach Harrison for that pushing side, too, to give him a chance.
36:09Morstead the kick, Agnew, from the 20.
36:11Space here.
36:12Agnew trying to pop it to the outside and tackled.
36:16At the 33-yard line, Luke Gifford was there on the stop for San Francisco.
36:23So the Falcons score, get a stop.
36:25B. John Robinson and company take Levi's down three.
36:28Back on the field after this.
36:29He wears number seven.
36:36Lucky to have him for Atlanta.
36:38B. John Robinson, 23 games since 2023 when he came in with 100-plus yards from scrimmage.
36:44That's the most in the NFL.
36:46And coming into this week, leading the league, going back and forth with Christian McCaffrey tonight for that scrimmage yard lead.
36:52And Chris mentioned this at the beginning.
36:53Jackpot, baby!
36:55Musburger, it is a jackpot with lucky number seven.
36:57Currently 164 yards per game from scrimmage.
37:00That would break Priest-Holmes' record.
37:02Obviously, we've got a ways to go in the season.
37:05But it gives you an idea of how good a start it's been for the third-year man out of Texas.
37:10Robinson's in motion.
37:11The Falcons start from the 33.
37:13Fake it to him.
37:14Panic strikes.
37:15Second level to Mooney incomplete.
37:18He had London.
37:19He had Mooney.
37:19Couldn't get either one.
37:21It's second down.
37:22So, what is it?
37:24Well, let's see.
37:24A flag on the other side for ineligible receiver downfield on Atlanta.
37:31And they're asking Kyle Shanahan if he wants this penalty.
37:34And he does.
37:35So, they'll back him up here.
37:36Five.
37:37We'll let you hear and see Ron Torbert.
37:39Ineligible player illegally downfield.
37:41Offense number 65.
37:44Five-yard penalty.
37:44Repeat first down.
37:46Now, I'll let you hear and see Chris Collinsworth.
37:48There you go.
37:48What are the Robinson qualities that jump out when you watch him?
37:52Well, I think that he's starting to understand the game.
37:55We know he's a great athlete.
37:56We know he can catch the ball.
37:57We know he can run the football.
37:59But what he's done is advance his game this offseason with some of those choice routes,
38:04those option routes, where you have to read the defense on the fly.
38:08And once he has that, he's literally going to be unstoppable.
38:12I don't know what you do with him at that point.
38:13Here he is, traditional running back.
38:19He moves and swerves for a couple of yards.
38:22And we saw him in the first half, Chris, and going back to watch film.
38:25And then we had him in the game in Minneapolis against the Vikings.
38:28His feet.
38:28He's got great feet as well as he scoots around back there.
38:31Yeah, and he has the ability to create explosive plays in the running game.
38:38Yeah, he's going to create them in the passing game as well.
38:40But when you have to add that extra person and pay attention to those inside and outside zone runs,
38:46which really have not been very effective here tonight so far,
38:50but a lot of times you stay with those things, and in the second half they start to pop.
38:54He had a great one last week for 81 yards against Buffalo.
38:58He's took off at speed.
39:00Wentz picked up past incomplete.
39:02Luter on the corner here,
39:04bodying Bijan as he broke inside.
39:08And it'll force third down.
39:15Terrific coverage on the outside that time.
39:17And he just went up and got right in the face of Bijan Robinson
39:21and completely knocked him off his feet and knocked him off the round.
39:24That just could not be done any better.
39:27Perfectly legal.
39:28You get that five-yard window, and you get that one good shot, and you win.
39:33Luter did.
39:34Third and 13.
39:35Got to stop Bryce Huff down at the bottom of the screen.
39:41He comes to the pass rush.
39:42Got chipped by Robinson.
39:43Giving Pettix the time to fire and complete it to Casey Washington at the 47-yard line.
39:51It's a first down for Atlanta.
39:54And that's got it.
39:55Take a look.
39:59I'm a believer.
40:00Yes, the laces don't move.
40:02It does make contact with the ground,
40:03but laces not moving show the maintenance and control.
40:08And that's a catch.
40:08And Chris, they were telling me pregame,
40:09I was talking about him on the field with Zach Robinson.
40:12He's got great hands.
40:12They really like what this guy can do with second-year receiver.
40:16He's got a good shoulder, too.
40:17He kind of caught that one.
40:21Inside the three here in the third.
40:24They run out of the pistol a whole bunch.
40:26Look it out.
40:27From the tight end.
40:28Pits.
40:29Luter.
40:30There again.
40:31That pile was dropped.
40:32That'll be an incomplete pass.
40:33There is the confirmation of such.
40:43And I think one of the things that Zach Robinson has been trying to do now down on the field,
40:48in the beginning of the year, he was up in the booth,
40:50but after the Carolina game, they said, forget that.
40:52I'm coming down so I can look at my guys and talk to them on the field.
40:56But we have been seeing some misdirection.
40:59But we know what's going on.
41:01They're focusing in on Bijan.
41:03Let's take advantage of everybody looking at him and try and make something else work.
41:08Second and ten.
41:10And it's showing that arm strength.
41:12Big nits of London and extending the ball out.
41:16The mark is going to be right around that first down.
41:20Let's see where it is.
41:22Yeah, he's got it.
41:22First down.
41:23Drake London extending on the way out of bounds.
41:27I tell you, it's like watching somebody.
41:30It's not even a human arm.
41:31It's like a jugs gun.
41:33It feels like it just shoots out of there.
41:35This is absolutely on the money to one hand.
41:39Never even considered.
41:41Used his right hand to pin the defensive back so he can make the catch with one hand.
41:46Of course they did.
41:49Great talent.
41:49Gloves are good, too.
41:52Robinson to the left for a couple.
41:5641.
41:57Let's take a look at Michael Penix and his mechanics.
42:00The one thing this guy does really well, watch his hips.
42:03Total rotation.
42:05Very seldom does he take much of a step at all with that front foot.
42:09He can just rotate and get that kind of power, much like golfers do.
42:13But when he wants to unload on one of those balls on the boundary, he just rips it.
42:20Fourth of the quarterbacks taken in that class of 24 or 6.
42:31The first 12 picks for QBs.
42:33A bunch of good ones.
42:34Here comes the pressure.
42:35Panics in trouble.
42:36Got rid of it.
42:38Incomplete.
42:38He does have a receiver in the area as London was there.
42:42But Chase Lucas, who's playing in the slot because the rookie Upton Stout is out tonight.
42:48Lucas is the one who got there.
42:49Chase Lucas, and I love what Robert Zollin is doing here.
42:56He is just going to bring pressure from the most unexpected places, and they are having an impact.
43:03So far, the coverage has been good enough.
43:05And I think that Michael Penix has to begin to understand when he does get that, it's got to come out of his hand.
43:12And a lot of times, that's the middle of the field.
43:14You can't always wait for those deep sidelines.
43:17And a lot of times, showing pressure again.
43:19Play clock at zero.
43:21Out.
43:21Not out in time.
43:23Delay a game.
43:24Back Judge threw the flags for the delay.
43:31Mechanics are it hits zero on the play clock.
43:33Back Judge looks to the ball.
43:35If the ball was still there, he throws the flag for delay a game.
43:43Before the ball was snapped, delay of game.
43:45By the offense.
43:47Five-year penalty.
43:49It's third down.
43:51It's too bad they had that one, too.
43:53They were starting to work back inside.
43:54Remember what was happening early in the game with those little slants to the outside and Kyle Pitts?
44:03Oh, they're backed up.
44:0430-14.
44:1430-14.
44:1430-14.
44:1430-14.
