00:0010 for 10 at the free throw line, the Lakers as a team 9 for 16 and Golden State capitalizes with a one point lead at the half.
00:10A lot of action. A time for somebody in here to take a breath. That was up and down the floor.
00:14The continuation from game one, both teams competing, great offense, great defense.
00:21I'll tell you what, I think we'll have a great second half here with both these clubs.
00:25Donchins leads the way 22. Butler has 17 to lead Golden State.
00:31It's a one point warrior lead at the end of two as we'll go to Maria Taylor back in Oklahoma City. Maria.
00:38Appreciate it, Noah. Coming up on American Express at the half.
00:41The game actually did end here, okay, after the double overtimes and the guys want to talk Luka, so that's what we go and do.
00:47Make sure you don't go anywhere. The Hall of Famer's got something to say.
00:50We're not going to drop our mics, though. No mics.
00:552.7 rebounds and 4 assists right now.
01:03They're down by 1 in L.A., and that is the second half nightcap that we have.
01:08The game you can trust, presented by American Express, are the two stars that we expected to show up.
01:13Jimmy Butler already 17 points. He's 10 for 10 from the free throw line.
01:17And like I said, Luka's shooting at 7 from 13 right now from the field.
01:21What's up? Welcome back to Oklahoma City.
01:22We're still at VACOM Center, and look who's joining us.
01:25You never know.
01:26Chet Holgren.
01:26You never know.
01:27Show the ring.
01:28Show the ring.
01:28Show the ring.
01:29Zoom in.
01:30Close up on this.
01:31Yeah.
01:31Zoom in on this.
01:32We had a whole plan for the half, and then Chet showed up and was like, let me show you my ring, and we said, get him a mic.
01:37He wasn't ready to go home yet.
01:39How does it feel watching the banner go up, getting the ring, and having it on your finger now?
01:42Amazing.
01:43I wasn't sure if it was going to feel real until we got the ring and the banner went up, but it kind of clicked this summer, and this was surreal.
01:50I'm really happy we were able to get the win.
01:52It was a crazy game, but couldn't ask for a better game than that on the late night.
01:57Crazy first half for you, though.
01:5818 points.
01:59Yeah, you held it down.
02:00How do you feel coming into the season?
02:02I know you got the ring.
02:03I know the banner's up to the night.
02:04You got a great win on your home court tonight, but how do you feel personally coming into the season?
02:09Yeah, I mean, I feel like I got a long way to go, a lot of work to put in.
02:13You know, obviously, last year was a crazy year for me.
02:15You know, we ended it right, but it wasn't an easy one, so this offseason, I was really able to get my legs under me, get my body right.
02:21So, you know, I feel great right now.
02:23I'm ready to hoop, and, you know, we just got to keep it going.
02:26You have a locker room full of young guys.
02:27You see the trophy again.
02:30You get the ring.
02:31You see the banner, like you said.
02:32How were you guys able to settle in?
02:35Kiss the ring.
02:36Kiss the ring.
02:37How were you guys able to settle in and come out and play a basketball game?
02:41And, you know, the mentality.
02:42You guys talked about you want to set the tone for the season to do it again.
02:46How were you guys able to do that and settle in?
02:48I mean, if you guys watched that first half, it took us a little while.
02:52You know, we didn't, you know, come out running and gunning.
02:55You know, I felt pretty good shooting the ball.
02:57But he was like, it took them a little while.
02:58I came out.
02:59Us as a whole, you know, we had to, you know, we really had to, you know, lock in and click in.
03:07And we were able to do that and come away with the win.
03:10But, you know, we know we got to be a lot better than we were tonight.
03:14But that's why we like a long season.
03:17We got a lot of time to improve and get better at what we need to get better at.
03:20Man, I just appreciate you stopping by the match, you know what I mean?
03:23I mean, this is the closest that we ever come to winning a championship.
03:27So we appreciate that.
03:28We never got to it.
03:28No, that's a fact.
03:30We're sure that, though.
03:32Nah, man, you know, sometimes, you know, you're going to watch our show and we'll find somebody wandering around.
03:37They might not have that ring.
03:38We want to have a little fun with this.
03:39We get to bring somebody like this in, man.
03:41Good luck to you, man.
03:42Keep going.
03:42You have your first one.
03:43So what's the mindset?
03:45Yes.
03:45Two, three, four, five.
03:48A little bit of brawn on here.
03:49Yeah.
03:49I mean, there's a lot of things as a basketball player that, you know, I want to do.
03:53You know, outside of just winning a championship, obviously every basketball player, that's the pinnacle of basketball and NBA championship.
03:59And I feel like if you focus on that, you focus too much on June, that's how you end up not playing in June.
04:04So we just got to focus on getting better personally as a team and, you know, trust where that leaves us.
04:11Love this.
04:11Think I got better tonight?
04:14We got some film to get better.
04:16So you will get better.
04:17You will get better.
04:18You got some film.
04:20You got to win.
04:21You got the ring.
04:21There's actually two rings.
04:22That opens up.
04:23You got another one in there.
04:24Like, there's a lot.
04:25You're right.
04:25Let me hold it.
04:25They married to the game.
04:27They married to the game.
04:27Just open it up for them.
04:28Okay.
04:29Check that out.
04:30Yeah, there you go.
04:31You get married to the game over here.
04:32I love that.
04:34They do.
04:34The youngins are trying to build a dynasty.
04:36Chet, thank you so much for joining us.
04:37We appreciate you.
04:37Thank you all.
04:38I appreciate y'all.
04:39Letting me bomb y'all show.
04:41All right.
04:41Yeah, we did just get our show bombed, but that's okay.
04:44We saw the wild game that was here, the double overtime.
04:46Check out the DraftKings Sportsbook, King of the Court leaderboard.
04:49Who's got the most points, rebounds, assists so far tonight?
04:52Oh, and how about this?
04:53I don't think we had Shingun on the actual bingo card, but he's running away with it.
04:58Had a great night, but the Rockets get the loss, unfortunately.
05:02All right.

05:17in game one of 82.
05:19Yeah, the OG still got the stroke, though.
05:22On October 31st and November 1st on NBC, USA, and Peacock, featuring one of the best fields
05:30ever in America's richest horse race, the Reader's Cup Classic.
05:36And guess what?
05:37We are going to have a tip-off coming your way Monday and Tuesday, doubleheaders.
05:42The NBA has returned to NBC, and you've got second half of your nightcap coming up from
05:47L.A., a one-point game between the Warriors and the Lakers.
05:50It's been live, but we've got to go home.
05:52It's been a long day.
05:54It's been a long time, good people.
05:55It's been a good day.
05:55It's been a long time, good people.
05:55It's been a good day.
05:55It's been a long time, good people.
05:56It's been a long time, good people.
05:57Enjoy your nightcap.
05:58It's been a good day.
05:58We are back.
05:59Peace.
06:00Peace.
06:00You can express NBA tip-off coverage presented by Kia.
06:09Two quarters in the books here in downtown Los Angeles, and we've got a tight Paul game,
06:1355-54.
06:14Time now to see which players were tracking to be king of the court.
06:18Tonight's points, rebounds, assist leaders on DraftKings Sportsbook.
06:22It's Luka Doncic, Steph Curry.
06:23You see so far 33 for Luka, 15 for Steph, just the one assist to go with 14 points.
06:30DraftKings is your home for king of the court.
06:33Get in on the action, download the app, and use promo code DUNK when you sign up.
06:38So a one-point game as we begin this third quarter here.
06:41Steph Curry came alive in the second.
06:43Jimmy Butler leads the way for Golden State, 17 points and 22 for Luka Doncic to lead all
06:47scores.
06:48Well, the theme has been one, turnovers both teams, 14 for LA, 13 for Golden State, but
06:54the guard play.
06:55As you said, Reeves and Doncic have been fantastic, and so has Butler and Curry.
07:00Who else can step up on both sides may make a difference.
07:04Draymond Green leaves it for Kaminga, and he knocks it down.
07:09Jonathan Kaminga with his second main threes, up to seven points, five rebounds, five assists,
07:13and a starting roll.
07:17Steve Curry, we asked, you know, what would be the ideal role for Jonathan Kaminga with this
07:22team?
07:23As Doncic goes up and puts it through, count it, and the foul.
07:28He got hit in the face, and one eye was all he needed to put that one down.
07:33When you're great, that's all you need is one eye.
07:36Doncic right there is like almost at the last minute.
07:38He got poked and just threw the ball up there.
07:41Wow, what a great touch.
07:45He could play this game with his eyes completely closed, it feels like, half the time.
07:49But the Lakers struggles with the free throw line, now 9 of 17 overall here tonight.
07:54So here is Kaminga, and when we asked Steve Curry what that role would look like, the first
07:57player, he said he didn't even pause.
07:59He said Sean Marion.
08:00If he could play like Sean Marion, that's a Sean Marion play, right on cue as he squeezes
08:05it in.
08:06Looked like the Matrix right there.
08:09Sean Marion, a 2010 guy.
08:13And another turnover for L.A.
08:16Curry in the open court.
08:17Doncic, bounce it.
08:19Butler takes flight and finishes.
08:22Right now, Golden State starting this third quarter like they did the first quarter, getting
08:26points in transition off of forcing turnovers.
08:29And this is not a Warriors team that necessarily was super awesome pace-wise last year.
08:34Doncic, that is creative on the ankle.
08:38And another chance of the three-point play.
08:43Once again, Doncic just taking his time, meanders down to the baseline.
08:48And you see Kaminga, he's trying to body him up.
08:51But he had his hands up there, and Luka just so smart, so savvy.
08:57What I like is he's not settling for threes.
09:00He's hit a couple of them as he's missed back-to-back free throws here in this third quarter.
09:06He's getting downhill, getting to the line, being aggressive.
09:10Green leave it for Kaminga.
09:12He's not been shy.
09:14Looking for Curry.
09:15Shadowed by Vincent.
09:17Curry, hook it.
09:19Green attack.
09:20Keeps the head up.
09:21It's Kaminga with four on the clock.
09:23He has to fire.
09:24And he hits.
09:25Another triple.
09:27Right now, Hayden's been guarding.
09:28Kaminga trying to keep him out of the paint with the start this third quarter.
09:31Knock it down.
09:32Two big threes.
09:34I think for Kaminga, you don't want to settle.
09:36You still want to try to be aggressive getting downhill, forcing fouls.
09:39Back-to-back years, averaging 15 points per game.
09:42He's playing really well before he got hurt last year.
09:44As Vincent can't respond.
09:46We've decided to rebound to Poczemski.
09:47Now he'll run the show.
09:51Frank Butler, mismatched with Vincent.
09:53Former teammates in Miami.
09:55Butler goes right at him.
09:56And he gets it to go.
09:57And I like that, Noah.
09:59A couple times in the first half, he had Vincent Butler, and he looked to pass.
10:04There, he was aggressive.
10:05He must make him pay with that lineup.
10:08The smaller lineup for Golden State.
10:10They had a lot of success with their small ball lineup last year towards the end of the season.
10:14As Hachimura can't hit the three.
10:16Good seal by Butler to take Aden completely out of that rebound.
10:19They can go back to let him back down.
10:21Vincent pulls him up.
10:23This time he goes right downhill.
10:24He'll get two free throws.
10:25And this has sort of been the typical Golden State Warriors over the last decade.
10:32Coming out in the third quarter and taking it to the team right there with the Smitty hesitation.
10:38Butler, so good drawing fouls.
10:41But year after year, that third quarter, this core with Draymond Green and Stephen Curry leading the way,
10:49so effective at coming out and really sticking it to the opponent.
10:54Let's take it with Ashley.
10:55Guys, Jimmy Butler played host before training camp this year.
10:58He hosted the entire team at his house.
11:00I asked Steph about it.
11:01He said they spent a couple days there.
11:03Steph said Jimmy is a wonderful host.
11:05They put in some work but had fun as well.
11:07Draymond Green said that Jimmy's wine cellar is one fit for an emperor.
11:11And guys, Steph confirmed it.
11:12But maybe the most hilarious quote from the weekend, Coach Kerr asked the rookie, Alex Chewy,
11:16what he learned from that retreat, and he said, I learned what you can do with NBA finals.
11:19Yeah, Jimmy Butler's got a pretty good setup in San Diego, a beautiful home.
11:25And he was asked about whether coaches were allowed.
11:28He said, no, players only meeting.
11:30And his whole reasoning, his rationale behind creating this was he wanted to show the rest of the team,
11:36if you're invited to my home, that means I really rock with you.
11:39And he feels he rocks with this group and has talked about this being the happiest time of his career
11:44after he lost his joy, directly quoted from last year in Miami.
11:4912th to shoot for Curry.
11:51Working against Reeves, draws the contact and nearly put that in.
11:54Two more free throws now for Golden State, currently at their largest lead,
11:58and the fourth foul on Austin Reeves.
12:00So, no, I'm just curious, when is our broadcast team getting an invite to your home?
12:05No, I thought it was the Hill residence.
12:07Wait, we got to get behind this.
12:08Well, you're the point guard.
12:09You're the leader.
12:10You're the Jimmy Butler of this group.
12:12You're cool with coming to an apartment, is what you're saying.
12:15Well, you know what?
12:15Maybe we'll come to Miami.
12:16Yeah.
12:19There's no wine cellar.
12:20I can promise you that much.
12:22But the impact of Jimmy Butler, again, the stats in terms of his individual numbers,
12:26not what we were accustomed to seeing in Miami.
12:28But you look at the ranks in the league.
12:30They were tied for third in record, only behind Oklahoma City and Boston.
12:33They were great defensively, and as expected.
12:36You've got Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green, who have both admitted they're cut from the same clock,
12:40and how they view the game, how they view competition.
12:43As J.J. Reddison called a timeout.
12:46The Warriors have opened up a 13-point push-in on a 16-4 start to this third quarter on NBC.
12:52The NBA on NBC and Peacock is brought to you by Progressive Insurance.
13:00Get slam-dunk savings today.
13:02Visit Progressive.com.
13:04And by Kia, the official automotive partner of the NBA.
13:09Well, you're looking at images from every NBA on NBC debut.
13:12You go back to 1954 Celtics and Rochester Royals.
13:16Celtics win 98-95, then November of 1990.
13:19Lakers and Spurs with the Admiral leading a 110-99 victory.
13:24And tonight, earlier, Rockets and Thunder, the double overtime thriller.
13:27As Domchich leaves it for eight.
13:29There's that chemistry that both have talked about publicly trying to build in a very short time.
13:33But Domchich cannot convert on the corner three.
13:37Largest lead for Golden State.
13:38They're 5-5 in this third quarter.
13:40The Lakers now 2-6 since the half.
13:43Butler against Hachimura.
13:48Screen from Pujemski as Butler backs down.
13:52Vincent floats in.
13:53Can't fake it home.
13:54Rebound fought for.
13:55Butler claims.
13:58Green handed.
13:59Curry.
14:00Swing.
14:00Pujemski.
14:01Three ball.
14:03And the weak sideboard goes to Dodgers.
14:05The Lakers need to find a way to settle back in here.
14:08Still shooting the ball 52% on the game.
14:11Somehow Hachimura claims it inside.
14:12Aiden goes right to work.
14:14He just bellows through Green.
14:15And that's an offensive foul.
14:19And give it up to Draymond Green to just put his body in there.
14:24Anticipate the spin by Aiden.
14:26And caught an elbow right to the chest.
14:29But that's what this third quarter has been for the Lakers on the offensive end.
14:35Just out of sorts.
14:37Certainly give credit to the Warriors.
14:39And offensively the ball is hopping around for Golden State.
14:43As they've been on a 16-4 run here in this third quarter.
14:46Butler.
14:47Not that time.
14:49Dodgers claims his eighth rebound.
14:51With 26 points and four assists.
14:53Aiden post up.
14:55Fade.
14:56No.
14:56And they keep trying to force feed Aiden inside.
14:59I think Reeves has got to get involved.
15:01It's not been aggressive.
15:02Neither has Dodgers here in this third.
15:05Back towards Curry.
15:07Those two have a sixth sense.
15:10Draymond Green to Curry.
15:11How many times have we heard that?
15:14Draymond just has an exact idea where Steph is going to be and currently is on the court at all times.
15:20That's what J.J. Reddick said the team has to be so aware of.
15:23You have to know where Steph Curry is 100% of the time.
15:26Which is easier said than definitely.
15:28As Dodgers continues to make magic.
15:31Fading away with another chance for three.
15:34LeBron is pleased.
15:37I mean right there.
15:37Dodgers just once again so strong.
15:43Understands the situation.
15:44And of course the previous play, Curry always moving and Green always delivering.
15:53The other thing, Grant, with guarding Steph Curry, you see that movement off the ball.
15:58That's constant for the games.
16:00I'd imagine it is exhausting to try to follow that guy around 94 feet.
16:04I mean it's exhausting just like watching him.
16:06But it's amazing, Stephen Curry at his age 37, still the energy, the professionalism, the work rate that he puts into his game.
16:18He looks stellar out here with this movement.
16:21So what you're saying is watching him doesn't make you want to come back as Peyton explodes.
16:26GP Till with a slam.
16:28And right there, Draymond Green at the top just delivering on all the cuts.
16:32And to your question, yes, I would come back.
16:34But I don't want to be in the car, wave the towel, just want treatment and prudence.
16:38I have seen your towel-waving skills.
16:40They are high-quality, yes.
16:43A little jab there.
16:44I like that.
16:45Reeves.
16:46Rebound falls.
16:48Nearly midway through this third quarter.
16:50It's been all Golden State since the half.
16:53Now is it Curry's turn.
16:55Mismatch with Aiden.
16:56Curry, right past him.
17:00Kick out.
17:00Kaminga again.
17:02Pure!
17:03He's become an assassin from three-point range.
17:11Foul away from the ball.
17:12It's going to go against Kaminga, battling with Doncic.
17:16I'll tell you, the ball finds energy.
17:19Kaminga has tremendous energy, great confidence.
17:22And right there, you see Stephen Curry, the awareness, knowing that he's hit 2-3.
17:27And Draymond Green at the top, just delivering, finding guys on bad cuts.
17:32Gary Payton's second.
17:336-2.
17:34Plays like a power forward with the finish.
17:36Donovan can make it now with 11 points in this third quarter.
17:39And yet, he can't stay in front of Doncic this time.
17:41The easiest deuce of the night.
17:43Lucas got 31 points, and yet the Lakers are down 15.
17:49Payton's turn.
17:50And Doncic corrals his 10th rebound.
17:54Squeeze.
17:54Already got a double-double to go with four assists.
17:58This time, he's looking for three.
18:00This misfire.
18:01And the rebound.
18:02Foul on the loose ball.
18:04And a tangle up with Smart.
18:06And Curry, as we check in with Ashley.
18:10Code with assistant coach Nate McMillan for the Lakers.
18:12Before this half started, I said, what were you guys doing offensively going on that run
18:16to end the second quarter?
18:17He said it was all about better spacing.
18:19So, that is something we are not seeing to start this third.
18:22It's something that they need to execute.
18:23He also mentioned, don't let the officiating be a distraction.
18:26And then, of course, those 15 turnovers in the first half, we have got to take care of the ball.
18:31But he just attributed that run to better spacing.
18:33So, maybe that's something they need to look out for these last five minutes, 29 seconds in the second.
18:38J.J. Reddick's talked a lot, Ashley, about the process for this team.
18:42Getting 1% better every day and really making sure that you're focused on a day-in, day-out basis
18:48on finding some improvement.
18:50You're going to have to focus on it quickly here, down by 14 in the third.
18:53And welcome back here to Los Angeles.
18:55This third quarter has been spearheaded offensively by Jonathan Kaminga, knocking down threes.
19:02And, of course, moving without the basketball.
19:05His teammates aware that he's hot, feeding the hot hand, 11 points in the quarter.
19:11And the Lakers, as a team, only 10 points.
19:14So, Kaminga has been sensational here.
19:18And just this Warriors team feeding off of his energy and shooting.
19:22Has equaled his career high and threes already with four.
19:25Seventh time in his career that he's done that.
19:27So much talk around Kaminga and the Warriors.
19:30It was such a long process this offseason as a restricted free agent.
19:35Before he eventually signed on a two-year, $46.8 million deal to return.
19:40And a lot of it will come down, as Steve Kerr talked about, to him finding the role on his team.
19:44Steve said, the role is absolutely there for him to flourish and help us win games at the highest level.
19:50If he does that, a lot of the other stuff is going to come for him individually.
19:53As Reeves can't hit in the mid-range.
19:56Now, here is Kaminga.
19:59Leave it for Heels back in the game along with Horford, Curry, and Payton.
20:07Horford, Payton, outside Kaminga, not to shoot.
20:10Right back to him on the relocate.
20:11And that's a double-double dribble for Gary Payton second.
20:16Maybe Gary Payton two.
20:18The two stands for how many dribbles there were.
20:21Why no Gary Payton senior?
20:22He would have shot it.
20:23That he would.
20:2515th turnover for the Warriors.
20:3217 for the Lakers in this game.
20:35See if LA capitalized now.
20:37It's 8 for 2.
20:39And finally, they've been trying to get 8 going.
20:42Very capable there in the low block.
20:45But someone else has got to get involved other than Luka here.
20:50Reeves has been very quiet offensively for the Lakers this fourth.
20:53Heels on the attack.
20:56Horford outside.
20:58Hit 3.
20:59And the rebound.
21:00Fought 4.
21:01Smart.
21:02Someone lost a shoe.
21:03It's Curry.
21:05Back the other way.
21:07Reeves puts the head down.
21:08Gets inside.
21:09Flips it up.
21:09Well short, but a foul.
21:14So Reeves will get 2 and a chance to get this back to a single-digit deficit for the Lakers.
21:19Curry finally had time to get the shoe back.
21:22See this thing just pop right off.
21:23Yeah, just a lot going on there.
21:28Curry still making a play for the ball with one shoe.
21:32And Steve Kerr is going to challenge this.
21:34Let's see if they're going to say, I don't think he got it off in time, the challenge.
21:37They've just told him that it will not be a challenge play.
21:42So a delay of game is going to be called instead.
21:46And Steve getting up there in age.
21:48A couple years ago, he would have been able to get that.
21:49Hey, we already said his team is wise.
21:55Steve is wise.
21:56A little slow to the challenge.
21:57Tip off the season with the NBA ID Season Start Challenge.
22:03Members in the U.S. and Canada who complete the challenge will be entered for a chance to win a trip to the Emirates NBA Cup Championship.
22:09Join now in the NBA app.
22:12So Reeves with a chance to get this back to single digits.
22:16He's at 13 points.
22:17Doncic has 31 and 10.
22:19And the free throw struggles have been legitimate now for the Lakers.
22:24They're down by 10.
22:25They've missed 10.
22:26Heal, deep ball, goes down, body buckets from way outside.
22:41Doncic off the screen.
22:43Fends off on Horford.
22:45And he somehow just finds the perfect angle as always.
22:49Luka's got 33.
22:50Yeah, he just froze the defense there.
22:52Nice little fadeaway.
22:53Sort of giving some life here in this third to this Laker team.
22:58But they've got to get stops on this end.
23:00Everything too easy for the Warriors.
23:03Domingo.
23:05Started this run for Golden State in the third.
23:08Working on Doncic.
23:10Attack ball for two more.
23:12There is no stopping Jonathan Kaminga in the third.
23:16Domingo, payback going back at Luka.
23:19Isolating there.
23:20And he is feeling it here in this third quarter.
23:2117 points on the night.
23:2323 for Butler.
23:2418 for Curry.
23:26And a 13-point cushion.
23:28It's Doncic.
23:30Back outside for Smart.
23:31He's been in foul trouble most of this game.
23:33Luka against Horford.
23:35Loved the mismatch with Biggs.
23:36Goes to the rim.
23:37Got rid of it last second.
23:38But Reeves couldn't get to it.
23:40Another turnover.
23:40As Luka slowly makes his way to his feet.
23:43A late contest there by Kaminga causing that turnover.
23:47And Kaminga trying to initiate the contact.
23:50Much how Luka has done on him.
23:52And then he'll swing, swing.
23:54You've got to close out.
23:56They're kind of picking on Aiden knowing that he doesn't close out to shooters.
24:00And offense flowing for the Warriors.
24:04As Steve Kerr about Buddy Heald, he said he's one of his favorite players he's coached.
24:08Because every day is a good day with Buddy.
24:10He's always smiling.
24:11Brings a light to the locker room as Butler goes in.
24:14And will get two more free throws for Golden State.
24:16But we're just so smart.
24:19You know, he's composed.
24:20He plays off two feet.
24:22Two feet, excuse me.
24:24He just takes his top center to Luka on the drives there.
24:28Initiates the contact.
24:30Comes to a jump stop.
24:32And kind of swings into the arms of Austin Reeves.
24:35Throwing a foul.
24:36And the bigger thing there, that's the fifth foul on Austin Reeves.
24:39With 2.23 to play in the third quarter.
24:43Austin Reeves has not been able to be effective here in this third.
24:46He'll sit for a while.
24:47Look at the upcoming national TV schedule tomorrow night on ESPN.
24:51Cavs and Knicks followed by Spurs and Mavs.
24:54Then Thursday on ESPN.
24:55Oklahoma City coming off the thriller tonight at Indiana.
24:59A rematch of the NBA Finals.
25:01Denver and Golden State.
25:02And on Prime Video Friday, Boston and New York, Minnesota and the Lakers.
25:05More on these games.
25:06Go to NBA.com or visit the NBA app.
25:08And Noah, the Lakers in the first half got going with Vanderbilt.
25:12With Marcus Smart and Jackson Hayes on the floor.
25:15Can they bring that energy and that toughness needed?
25:19Big time three there on the swing, swing from Luka Doncic.
25:25Two minutes to play in this third.
25:29Lakers could really use a run to end this quarter.
25:32It's Heald again.
25:33Two, three.
25:37It's again set up by the dribble penetration.
25:40Paint touches by Pujinski.
25:4137% last year for Heald.
25:43And Horford turning back the clock.
25:46He swaps one out of bounds.
25:48And that looked like Atlanta Hawks Horford right there.
25:50Getting up there.
25:52Showing he's got some juice in the legs.
25:55Horford, we talk about his shooting, his passing.
25:58But so capable and talented on the defensive end.
26:01And, of course, Pujinski drawing the contact, collapsing the defense.
26:05Buddy Hill from the same spot.
26:07Same result.
26:09Doncic, fend off on Butler.
26:11Gets the rim for two more.
26:14Great footwork.
26:15And it's just been a different philosophy against Doncic for this Warriors defense in the second half.
26:21They were blitzing in the second he touched the ball as he got half-court and beyond.
26:26In this second half, it's been a lot more one-on-one.
26:28They're allowing him seemingly to be a scorer, but they're not letting everybody else get involved.
26:32As Horford can't get it to go.
26:34Nice defense by Doncic.
26:35He's late to recover offensively.
26:37Arabia.
26:38Back to Smart.
26:40Now it's Luka against Horford.
26:41Here's the mismatch.
26:42Now the blitz.
26:43A round of the Arabia.
26:45More of that zone look we saw in the first half from Golden State.
26:48That leaves Doncic open on the outside.
26:50Attacks.
26:51Blobs.
26:51Hayes with a finish.
26:55Right now, Luka putting this team on his back.
26:59But he's pretty much done throughout his career.
27:02And Hayes is going to the rim.
27:04You know he's going to throw it up there for the easy two.
27:07Final minute on the third.
27:08Rebound.
27:10Rebound.
27:10Rebound.
27:12Wojcicki.
27:13Dancing on the Arabia.
27:15Six to shoot.
27:17It's healed from the logo.
27:19Well short.
27:20Pritchard's there for the putback.
27:23The rookie in the right place at the right time.
27:25Just makes winning plays.
27:28Not a great offensive possession.
27:29But the rookie bailed him out.
27:32Doncic step back.
27:33Short.
27:34Rebound.
27:35Lorabia.
27:35Three second difference.
27:42Shot caught.
27:43End game clock.
27:44To wind down this third quarter.
27:47Rebound.
27:48Rebound.
27:48Rebound.
27:49Rebound.
27:49Rebound.
27:50Rebound.
27:51Rebound.
27:51Rebound.
27:52Rebound.
27:53Rebound.
27:53Rebound.
27:54Rebound.
27:54Rebound.
27:55Rebound.
27:55Rebound.
27:56Butler.
27:56With 25 points on the night.
27:59Screen from Richard.
28:00Switch with Doncic.
28:02Butler.
28:03Goes to work.
28:03Leaves it.
28:05Pajemski got it off in time.
28:07And he missed it short.
28:09Vanderbilt.
28:09Smart.
28:10The heave.
28:11No good.
28:13And we go to the fourth after a dominant third quarter for the Warriors.
28:16They outscore the Lakers by ten.
28:19And take an 11 point cushion into the fourth on the road.
28:23This is the American Express NBA tip off.
28:26Coverage presented by Kia.
28:29Work that brought you The Office.
28:31In Parks and Rec comes a brand new season of TV.
28:33Reaves feel better comedy.
28:35St. Dennis Medical premieres November 3rd on NBC.
28:38And Peacock.
28:39David Allen Greer, star of the show in the crowd tonight.
28:41Hey, Gerard.
28:42Gerard.
28:43You know your dad has a matching belt?
28:45He's got the matching suit.
28:47Gerard.
28:47You've got to coordinate.
28:49You've got to coordinate.
28:50One of the all-timers.
28:53On the swing.
28:54LaRavia can't make him pay.
28:56Hayes with the offensive board.
28:57Luka's going to stay in the game.
28:58Remember, Reaves has five fouls.
29:00Luka has not sat in the second half so far.
29:03He's got 35 points.
29:04It's smart.
29:05Finds some offense.
29:06And a smart drive there for Tricky.
29:08Tough spot right now for J.J. Reddick with Reaves with five fouls.
29:12You can't take Luka out.
29:13And right now, Buddy Heald is killing the Lakers defensively.
29:22Buddy Love providing a lot of that for the Golden State side as he's come off the bench
29:27and poured in 14 points in 17 minutes.
29:31Dantrich splits the double team.
29:34Hook it outside.
29:35Smart.
29:35In rhythm.
29:37Can't respond.
29:38And the rebound tracked down by Post.
29:40Heald has the hot hand.
29:44Get it in for Butler.
29:46Smart in foul trouble himself.
29:47He's got four.
29:49Heald again.
29:51Finally human.
29:52And Poczemski poked it away.
29:54And a second chance.
29:55Same spot for Heald.
29:56Same result.
30:00And now, Austin Reaves with his five fouls is going to hop off the bench and check in for the Lakers.
30:04And they have to.
30:05Donchich is fatigued.
30:07He can't play this whole second half.
30:08You've got to get him two minutes at least.
30:11Vanderbilt.
30:12Not known as a three-point shooter.
30:14Donchich doubled.
30:16Back to Jared Vanderbilt.
30:18He'll attack.
30:19Sky.
30:19And knocked away by Green.
30:22Heald finds the trailer post.
30:25And Butler will slow it down.
30:33Directing traffic against Butler.
30:35Floats it up.
30:36Doesn't get the roll.
30:38This feels like a time.
30:40We talked to J.J. Redick about his visit with Rams head coach Sean McVay this summer.
30:44So the biggest thing that he learned was instilling a football culture as Vanderbilt misfires.
30:50And also the gadget plays.
30:51That's something that he loved that the Rams were instilling as he was getting there.
30:56And speaking of getting there, Draymond Green goes all the way.
30:59The hoop, the harm, and a chance for three.
31:03Stephen Curry approves.
31:05Once again, Lakers not back in transition.
31:07Draymond Green so smart attacking the body.
31:11And previous play, the throw ahead, the awareness of the hot hand, and the flow and rhythm of this Warriors attack.
31:22When they get it going, boy, a sight to see.
31:25But you have to play paranoid defensively.
31:28And the Lakers haven't done that.
31:30Nothing really on the offensive end.
31:31Austin Reeves in at the right time.
31:33What J.J. talked about with McVay was the gadget plays that they put in.
31:38He said what it allowed them to do is know that when it was second down and ten, they could get five yards basically guaranteed.
31:43So they tried to find gadget plays in basketball.
31:45And Reeves just took a shot as he was diving for that loose ball.
31:49Do they have a gadget play for when LeBron and Luka are out of the game?
31:53That's where they are right now.
31:54But how about Draymond Green?
31:56The little things, the assist, the defense, the leadership.
32:01His presence is being felt out here.
32:03Draymond Green, what he does does not show up in the stat sheet, but he impacts winning to the highest degree.
32:10He's got four fouls now as Reeves has a chance for three.
32:14He just toyed with a second-year man post and finds his way to the bucket.
32:21And that's what they need.
32:23Reeves downhill.
32:23We saw a lot of that in the first half.
32:26Attack mode.
32:27Nice little shot fake.
32:30Gather, draw the contact.
32:32Expect to see more of that here in this fourth quarter from Austin Reeves.
32:36Reminded me that the Lakers have missed ten free throws in this game.
32:40That they trail by just 11.
32:42See if they can make this little run here.
32:44You don't need to get it all back, but the next couple minutes get it to a couple possessions.
32:48Feel like you're in position to use this home crowd.
32:52Butler working on smart.
32:53So many battles in Miami and Boston between these two.
32:57Cut off.
32:58Four to shoot.
32:59Green swing it.
33:01Heal.
33:01Another three.
33:03It's pure.
33:05Buddy Heal.
33:06Stuck on automatic in L.A.
33:08Reeves nearly lost it.
33:14Back for smart.
33:17Where will the offense come from without Luka Doncic and with Reeves holding on to five fouls?
33:23He draws the contact this time.
33:25They're going to call it on the floor.
33:27Well, I'll tell you what.
33:28The awareness of the team, knowing that Buddy Heal is hot from downtown here in this half.
33:35Five of nine from the three-point line.
33:37And Stephanie Curry waving approval.
33:41You know, last year, Buddy Heal, the first four games of the season, was 20 of 36 from the three-point line.
33:47Fifty-five percent.
33:50And here in this second half, he is getting it going.
33:53He's allowed Steph Curry to stay on the bench for an extended seat here.
33:58Meanwhile, the Lakers have had to play Luka Doncic a supreme number of minutes.
34:04And Reeves back on there, trying to play through five fouls.
34:07Arabia, one of the acquisitions this summer.
34:09Spins, no.
34:10Rebound Hayes outside.
34:12Reeves, talk, drive.
34:14Leave it.
34:14It's Hayes on the attack.
34:16Knocked away by Green.
34:18Scooped up by Butler with no numbers.
34:19Working on Vincent again.
34:23He's loved the matchup all night.
34:27Spin and score.
34:29Jimmy Butler wheeling his way to the bucket.
34:32And I like that the whole team got on the weak side.
34:34Let him go ISO against Vincent.
34:37Butler makes him pay.
34:3827 points for Butler.
34:41Reeves kick.
34:42Hachimura three.
34:44And the Lakers could just use some going down from the outside now.
34:47Six of 28 from three-point territory.
34:50And Steve Kerr is going to call a timeout.
34:527.50 to play in this fourth quarter.
34:56And the Warriors start to extend 100 to 84.
35:00This is the American Express NBA tip-off coverage presented by Kia.
35:03Some caught critters before the game.
35:09On fire here in the second half.
35:12Knocking down threes.
35:13The awareness of his teammates to feed the hot hand.
35:17And he is feasting from three.
35:20Buddy Hill getting it done.
35:22And Stephen Curry all smiles and waves for his teammate.
35:26Buddy Hill 12 in the second half.
35:29He hit all of them from three.
35:31Four threes after just one in the first.
35:33And Steve Kerr said as much as he loves him, he has to play better.
35:36He just didn't have a great training camp.
35:38Just felt like he wasn't shooting it particularly well.
35:40And the turnovers were a problem.
35:41That's going to be a foul going the other way on Richard.
35:43That was dangerous for Reeves as he got tangled up with a rookie.
35:46But it will be Lakers basketball.
35:48And you're right, Buddy Hill.
35:49He's been struggling.
35:50Had not been shooting the ball well.
35:52As Steve said, turning the ball over.
35:54But certainly the bright lights of the regular season.
35:59He is showing what he did in that closeout game against Houston last year in the playoffs.
36:05Stepping up, playing big.
36:06As Steve Kerr mentioned that, just how much energy he can provide.
36:10And you're seeing with the bench response as well.
36:12Reeves fend off, draws two over the top.
36:15Hachimura on the take.
36:17Six to shoot.
36:18Dompters back on the floor.
36:19Attack mode, gets to the rim, fades, and puts it home.
36:22He's got 37.
36:25He has been sensational.
36:2737 and very efficient there on those drives.
36:33Only area he's struggled has been from three, where he's just two for nine.
36:37It's Harper.
36:38In and out.
36:40Can Doncic will his team back?
36:43He has been spectacular near triple-double.
36:46Yes, he can.
36:47You're saying he can.
36:48He's kicking.
36:48I know he's capable.
36:49I'm not sure he will.
36:50Will he will his team back?
36:53Now, the question is, at 53, can I will this team back?
36:56No.
36:56That's a definite, that's a hard no.
36:58All right.
36:59At least you know your limitations.
37:00I'm just still curious how you've recovered after Steve Kerr just completely trashed your beard.
37:05Yeah, you know, he did kind of, it was a little jab there, you know.
37:10Just enough.
37:10You noticed it too.
37:11Just enough.
37:12Horford inside for the easy one.
37:14And in Camingo, once again, we saw his shooting, his driving, and there, the playmaking, driving, and finding the open Horford.
37:22Feels like Camingo's going to be the X Factor for this team this year.
37:26Ayton stops, pops, and hits.
37:28And that's part of his game.
37:30Those nice little floaters and push shot there.
37:33And you'll see as Ayton gets more and more comfortable with Luka and Austin Reeves and LeBron when he comes back,
37:41he has a chance to really be a weapon for them on the offensive end, but not enough here tonight thus far.
37:47Heels.
37:49No hesitation now.
37:51Doncic leaks out.
37:52Heel gets back defensively.
37:53Doncic goes right to work.
37:54Floats it up and in.
37:5639 points for Luka Doncic.
37:58Just under 6 to play.
38:00And Steve Kerr will take a timeout.
38:0212-point game.
38:03Lakers hanging around and up.
38:05This is the American Express tip-off coverage presented by Kia.
38:12Here's the blast season in the NBA.
38:15Luka Magic getting traded from Dallas to L.A.
38:18Missed 27 out of a possible 49 games due to multiple injuries, so then he was shipped out to the Lakers.
38:24Not necessarily because of that, but Nico Harrison had a vision.
38:27So did L.A.
38:28And when he was with the Lakers, highly effective.
38:30It's offseason, signed a three-year, $165 million extension he has talked about.
38:37There's something about being a Laker, walking into this building, seeing the retired jerseys and the banners.
38:42It makes you want to be here for as long as you possibly can.
38:45And so he was excited to get a deal done and be here for the foreseeable future.
38:49As Richard gets in the scoring column, drills the triple on the outside, and the Warriors continue to light it up from downtown.
38:58Richard is going to be a valuable asset to this team.
39:03You see the trust right away of this young player.
39:05Hachimaru's response is there.
39:09We talked about Luka sending a statement here.
39:13Obviously, this team not playing.
39:16Still in it, only down 12, but kind of performance you want when you're a star.
39:23He said it's not.
39:24That's going to be another offensive foul this time on Al Horford.
39:27Just moved enough as Vincent was fighting over the top.
39:31And the Golden State's lost a little bit of their momentum.
39:33A little bit of that pop they had earlier.
39:37They're known for taking the foot off the gas at times.
39:42You've got to be careful as long as that man with the ball is in the game.
39:4639, 12, and 8 for Doncic.
39:48He gets inside, gets to his spot.
39:51He's up to 41.
39:52It's his career high in a season opener.
39:57Two assists shy of another triple-double.
40:00Back to a 10-point game.
40:01Now can they get stops?
40:03Horford on the roll.
40:05Hachimaru steps up.
40:06Horford backs down.
40:08And intercepted.
40:09Reeves takes it the other way.
40:11Numbers for the Lakers.
40:12It's Aiden trailing the play.
40:14Catch and finish.
40:18Curry loses a shoe again.
40:27Well, it's been the turnovers.
40:28I mean, really, right now, just out of rhythm.
40:31Give credit to the Lakers' defense.
40:36Lakers making their push.
40:37Approaching four minutes to play.
40:39It's a 7-0 run.
40:41Reeves attack.
40:42Ball for two.
40:45Timeout Golden State.
40:489-0 Laker run.
40:58We've got a game.
41:01For the Lake Show.
41:03And Golden State won't waste any more time.
41:06After Austin Reeves gets the bucket to make it a two-possession game,
41:09Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, Jonathan Kaminga, Steph Curry,
41:13Brandon Pajemski, the starting five, back on the floor for Steve Kerr.
41:16Again, the Lakers getting it done with their defense.
41:20Turnovers just mucking the game up.
41:22And now we got a game, as you said.
41:24Defense!
41:26Defense!
41:26Trying to find the Curry in opening.
41:28Defense!
41:29Defense!
41:30Defense!
41:30Defense!
41:31Butler working out Domkic.
41:35Draymond Green will try and hit!
41:37And I'll tell you what, Draymond, not known for a three-point shooting,
41:42but he had been sitting, just checked into the game,
41:45and hit a big-time three for his Warriors.
41:49He always says, I make them when they count.
41:52Now can the Lakers do the same?
41:55Reeves slicing through the lane.
41:57And he fouled.
41:58Draymond was in front of him.
42:01And if it is green, it's number five.
42:03Yeah.
42:04And Draymond fouled him there.
42:06A little bit of contact to the body there on Reeves' drive.
42:11Right here, late clock.
42:12Draymond catches the ball, looks down, has time to get the seams right.
42:16And hits a big three.
42:20Just a little too much contact to the body on Reeves' on that defensive play.
42:26And the free throw struggles.
42:28One of the biggest storylines of the night for a Laker team that last year shot at 79% at the charity strike.
42:35They are 14 of 25.
42:39Jimmy Butler by himself is 14 of 14.
42:44Reeves gets it to 8.
42:46This is going to have to be on the defensive side for the Lakers.
42:50Last year, 17th in the NBA.
42:52Defensive rating, 10th in points allowed per game.
42:56J.J. Redick thinks Luka Doncic, a much-improved defender with a body transformation.
43:01Now is the time to prove it.
43:02Curry on the outside.
43:03Doncic trying to stay with him.
43:058 to shoot.
43:06Steph.
43:07Steph back.
43:083.
43:09Short.
43:10Rebound.
43:10Poked around.
43:11Hachimura claims.
43:12Good defense on that possession by Luka on Steph.
43:17Now it's Doncic offensively against Poczemski.
43:21Double comes.
43:22Vincent.
43:243 was blocked.
43:25Aiden got it.
43:27And he was out of bounds.
43:28Steph Curry on the closeout.
43:30Gets it done defensively.
43:32I mean, what a closeout right there.
43:35They're scrambling on defense.
43:36A great swing, swing.
43:37And Curry contesting on the side there.
43:42Got a little bit.
43:43And I thought Doncic did a great job right here.
43:45Sliding his feet.
43:46Staying in front of Steph.
43:47A late contest.
43:50Good effort on D by Doncic.
43:52Steph Curry.
43:53Three steals and a block.
43:562.35 to play.
43:57Warriors looking to close the door.
43:59It's Butler.
44:00Patient for the bucket.
44:04Luxury of having a Jimmy Butler.
44:07He can anytime go get a bucket.
44:0929 points in the season opener for Butler.
44:14Reeves draws more contact.
44:16And Butler puzzles looking towards Fentany Ransom.
44:19Number four on Butler.
44:29Butler just takes his time.
44:32Attacks Luka.
44:35Great footwork.
44:38Understands time and score.
44:39And I'll tell you, it's an incredible play on both ends with these guards.
44:44Austin Reeves as we see LeBron James.
44:47And you have to wonder, how does he fit in here?
44:50You know he breaks so much.
44:52Certainly could be used here tonight for his Laker team.
44:56But.
45:00LeBron watches on.
45:02His team trails by eight.
45:03You said earlier he was iced out.
45:04I thought you meant he was icing his.
45:06No, no.
45:07He's iced.
45:07I see that.
45:08I didn't see the monitor when you said that earlier.
45:10He's sparkling.
45:11He is sparkling.
45:12He's a shining star.
45:14Butler down the middle.
45:15And foul.
45:15And the Lakers cannot challenge this.
45:18That they lost their challenge in the first quarter.
45:21And Jimmy Butler will get his 15th and 16th free throws tonight.
45:25And I like this right.
45:26Unorthodox screen and roll.
45:27You have Steph setting the screen.
45:29And because of Curry, two guys go to Curry.
45:32Butler then sees that.
45:34Seizes the opportunity.
45:36Attacks.
45:36And once again gets to the line.
45:39Not a whole lot of contact.
45:40Butler making him pay.
45:44And Grant, that was something Draymond Green talked about leading into this game was last
45:49year because Jimmy Butler came so late in the season.
45:51It was a mad dash for them to win games.
45:53They had to just go with whatever they figured out worked.
45:56And they couldn't expand their playbook the way they had in years past when they were dominant.
46:00They were so multiple.
46:00And now with this offseason, this training camp, they feel like they can go to so many different
46:05looks and things that people haven't seen on tape before in critical situations.
46:10And we've seen that here on display tonight.
46:12Back to a ten-point game.
46:15Reeves, three.
46:16Good.
46:17Rattles one home.
46:19And a big hit to keep it in an arm's distance.
46:22You're going to see a steady diet here of this Curry jerk.
46:26Excuse me.
46:26Jimmy Butler's speed and roll action.
46:31Hand it.
46:32Curry.
46:33Hook it.
46:34Butler.
46:35Bounce.
46:35Payton for two.
46:37Beautiful basketball for the Dubs.
46:39Reeves.
46:48Hachimura.
46:49Around for Doncic with 41 points.
46:52On the attack for two more.
46:57Golden State content to take their time.
47:00Minute 18 and ticking.
47:02And a foul is going to be called on Luka Doncic.
47:04The Lakers did have one to give.
47:06This play right here.
47:07Maybe the best play of the day for Golden State.
47:12The screen and roll action.
47:13Jimmy Butler along with Stephen Curry.
47:16And I'll throw Draymond Green in there.
47:18Three of the smartest players in today's game.
47:20Gary Payton II.
47:23Cutting to the rim.
47:24Just unselfish basketball.
47:27Trusting the pass.
47:29Big time possession.
47:30Butler.
47:30Butler.
47:32Three.
47:35Kaminga up high for the board.
47:39Butler inside.
47:41Hayden.
47:42Seven to shoot.
47:43Curry.
47:44Deep one.
47:45Bullseye.
47:48Steph Curry.
47:49Alien-like tendencies showcase in downtown Los Angeles.
48:00Reeves with a bucket.
48:05Curry caught up and fouled.
48:07And he'll get free throws here with 39 seconds remaining.
48:11He loves putting on a show.
48:12I think he loves shooting from deep when you're in the building.
48:18Wow.
48:21It wasn't quite night-night time, but maybe time to start getting tucked in.
48:26Yeah, I mean, he, I mean, it's something when Steph, Steph Curry impresses himself.
48:32He did on that play right there.
48:34But, oh my.
48:35Knocks the wind out of you.
48:39And this is, by his own standards, not even a top-tier performance.
48:44He's got 22 points, but hasn't shot it super effectively.
48:48And yet, as always, when the big shot is needed, 30 has got you covered.
48:54That he does.
48:56Wow.
48:57Timeout call.
48:58J.J. Redick.
48:59Ten-point game.
49:0039 seconds left.
49:02Warriors on their way to a win.
49:05Now, Golden State, they're finished to last season.
49:1123-8 down the stretch in the regular season.
49:14You face off against a really good Houston team.
49:16Battle them.
49:17Seven-game series.
49:19You get the win.
49:20Steph has to play massive minutes in that game seven.
49:24And then game one, convincing against Minnesota, but Steph gets hurt with a hamstring.
49:28You lose the next four, and you have to just sit back and wonder what could it have been if he was healthy.
49:34Well, this is a good look of what it could have been if he was healthy.
49:37This team very similar with the addition of Al Horford being the main difference.
49:41Kevon Looney going out.
49:43And, man, they have looked good in this second half.
49:46Yeah, they've looked so good.
49:47And you see that with this team, Stephen Curry doesn't have to have 35 for them to win,
49:52like last year before the Butler trade, with Jimmy Butler playing well.
49:56Kaminga, guys stepping up.
49:59Curry has less of a load with this balanced team here for the Warriors.
50:05Donchich, three, no, Peyton rebound, and now just a 12-second difference.
50:10Shot clock and game clock looks like the Lakers will drop back defensively.
50:18Impressive performance for Golden State after a 35-25 third quarter that saw them lead by 11 heading into the fourth.
50:27They made the plays necessary down the stretch.
50:30And they did, and this is huge, a divisional opponent.
50:33You never know the tiebreaker situation in a very tough Western Conference.
50:38So to come in here on the road, get this win, it's a big time for Steve Kerr and his Warriors.
50:45Phenomenal performance for Luka Doncic, but it will come up short.
50:48He'll dribble out the clock.
50:49And your final score, a strong performance to start the season for the Golden State Warriors.
50:55They claim it in downtown Los Angeles, 119-109, behind Curry and Butler's Heroics.
51:02I'll tell you, no, this Golden State Warriors team, as we talked at the beginning, they have championship aspirations.
51:17They believe that they still have a lot left in the tank, and that man, Jimmy Butler, you see his brilliance.
51:24You see how they've incorporated him, Al Horford in the mix, the defense.
51:29This team has a chance to be special.
51:32Steph Curry comes up with a huge shot late, standing by with Ashley Shalmody.
51:36All right, Steph, your 17th season opener.
51:39Now this team is 1-0.
51:40Just to start, what was the difference for you guys to start this second half, come out the way that you did?
51:46I mean, we got stops, but I think in the second quarter, we kind of got a little stagnant on offense.
51:50And our organized chaos took over that first four minutes.
51:55Easy layups, easy catch-and-shoot threes just off of ball movement.
51:58So Warrior basketball took over.
52:00And Steph, your 17th year, and you continue to do what you've done your whole career.
52:04Just be super efficient.
52:05Make the big shots when they count the most.
52:07What is the secret to your continued success just year after year and playing the way that you do?
52:12It starts with God.
52:14I mean, there's no reason other than the blessing to be able to, you know, be healthy and keep playing.
52:19Outside of that, I just love the hoop, love the teammates I have, and just the opportunity to keep chasing, you know,
52:25open to the title, but, you know, just great basketball and the process, so it brings the best out of you
52:31when you get out here and the lights are burning.
52:33Steph, thanks so much.
52:34We appreciate your time.
52:35I appreciate it.
52:37Curry with 23, Butler with 31.
52:39They combine to go 24 of 24 at the free throw line.
52:42A 119-109 Golden State victory here in Los Angeles.
52:47More to come on the other side from Crypto.com Arena.
