Understanding Crowd Psychology: The Basics!
Transcript
00:00crowd psychology is the study of how people behave in groups particularly how group behavior differs
00:05from individual behavior so what ash showed in his experiment is that people don't always act
00:11according to what they believe to be true instead they act according to what they think everyone
00:17else believes to be true and this is at the heart of crowd psychology so let's take a look at that
00:23now so before we can talk about crowd psychology we have to first define what a crowd is a crowd is
00:30defined as a collection of people brought together by a common interest or purpose this can include
00:36anything from a small group of friends hanging out at a party to a massive horde of strangers
00:41who are protesting against their government so while the size of a crowd does not necessarily
00:46determine whether or not crowd psychology is at play it does make crowd psychology more likely to
00:52happen because here's the thing the larger the group is the less personal responsibility people feel for
00:58their actions
