00:00And that's, that's okay. There's a Buddhist story about a young monk who asked his teacher,
00:05he said, how is it possible to stop craving? How is it possible to stop wanting more? And the old
00:12monk replied, well, look at a child, he said. A child sees a butterfly and wants to play with it.
00:18But when he reaches out to touch it, the butterfly flies away. Then the child sees a bird and wants
00:24to catch it and play with it. But when he reaches out to touch it, the bird flies away. Then
00:30the child
00:31sees a bigger boy and wants to play with him. But when he goes up to the bigger boy, the
00:36bigger boy
00:37walks away. Then the child looks down at himself and realizes that he's the butterfly. He's the bird.
00:44He's the bigger boy. He's everything that was flying away from him. And the lesson is that we are always
00:52reaching for things that are out of our grasp. And we never realize that what we want is already
00:57inside of us. And sometimes that can apply to our ambitions. Sometimes what we want is already inside
01:04of us. We don't need to go out and accomplish more. We don't need to go out and become more
01:10impressive.
01:10We don't need to go out and become more successful. What we need to do is turn around and appreciate
01:16what we already have. Appreciate the things that are already inside of us and the things that are
01:23already inside of our grasp. And yeah, that might mean that we're not as impressive as some other
01:29people. Yeah, that might mean that we're not as successful as some other people. Yeah, that might
01:34mean that we're not as wealthy as some other people. But that's okay.
