00:00:00What has the label got to do with Islam or the Muslims?
00:00:04People are rather curious that what will be the content of this talk.
00:00:09It's rather an unusual topic.
00:00:11I started my talk by quoting a verse from the glorious Quran from Surah An-Am,
00:00:16chapter number 6, verse number 54.
00:00:18It says,
00:00:19وَإِذَا جَاءَ أَقَلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِعَيَاتِينَ فَقُلْ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ
00:00:25And when those come to thee who believe in our signs, tell,
00:00:30Peace be on you.
00:00:31It means that whenever a Mormon, whenever a Muslim comes to you,
00:00:36you should say,
00:00:37As-Salaamu Alaikum, may peace be on you.
00:00:40It's compulsory that whenever a Muslim meets another Muslim,
00:00:44whenever a Mormon meets another Mormon,
00:00:46he should say,
00:00:47As-Salaamu Alaikum, may peace be on you.
00:00:50It's compulsory.
00:00:52The other verse, I quoted,
00:00:54was from Surah An-Nisa,
00:00:57chapter number 4,
00:00:58verse number 86, which says,
00:01:08Which means that when a courteous greeting is offered to you,
00:01:13meet it with a greeting still more courteous,
00:01:17or at least the same.
00:01:18And Allah is careful in keeping accounts of all things.
00:01:23That means whenever any person greets you,
00:01:27you should greet him with a greeting which is more courteous,
00:01:32or at least of equal courtesy.
00:01:35It's compulsory.
00:01:35For example, if suppose someone wishes you,
00:01:41As-Salaamu Alaikum,
00:01:43you should wish back,
00:01:45Wa-Alaikum As-Salaam wa-Rahmatullah.
00:01:47If someone says,
00:01:49As-Salaamu Alaikum wa-Rahmatullah,
00:01:51you should wish back,
00:01:52Wa-Alaikum As-Salaam wa-Rahmatullah wa-Barqatuhu.
00:01:55May peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala,
00:01:58be on all of you.
00:01:59Or if someone says,
00:02:02As-Salaamu Alaikum,
00:02:03you can even reply,
00:02:04Wa-Alaikum As-Salaam.
00:02:06The words are the same,
00:02:08but it is coming from within the heart,
00:02:10from the depth of the heart,
00:02:12from the bottom of the heart.
00:02:13The words are the same,
00:02:14but it is still a more courteous greeting.
00:02:17Wa-Alaikum As-Salaam.
00:02:19Or if someone says,
00:02:20As-Salaamu Alaikum wa-Rahmatullah wa-Barqatuhu.
00:02:23And if you cannot improve on that,
00:02:25at least say,
00:02:26Wa-Alaikum As-Salaam wa-Rahmatullah wa-Barqatuhu.
00:02:29Minimum of equal courtesy.
00:02:31But there are many Muslims,
00:02:32who own companies,
00:02:33who have got various employees under them.
00:02:35And when the employees,
00:02:36when they wish them,
00:02:37As-Salaamu Alaikum,
00:02:38they either nod,
00:02:40or they murmur,
00:02:41Wa-Alaikum As-Salaam.
00:02:42Some even don't care to reply.
00:02:45These Muslims,
00:02:46they are going against the commandment of Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala,
00:02:49in the glorious Quran,
00:02:50in Surah Nisaa,
00:02:51chapter 4, verse 86,
00:02:52it says,
00:02:53you should wish back more courteously,
00:02:56or at least wish back with equal courtesy.
00:03:01It's greet back the person with equal courtesy.
00:03:04It's minimum.
00:03:05Let's analyze the various types of greetings
00:03:08that we have in the society.
00:03:10And the most common of all the greetings,
00:03:13in English,
00:03:14we say,
00:03:15Good morning.
00:03:17In Afrikanas,
00:03:18people say,
00:03:19Khoi Mora,
00:03:20Asagabana.
00:03:21In Chinese,
00:03:22Chau Sun.
00:03:23In most of the languages,
00:03:25it's a very common greeting,
00:03:28Good morning.
00:03:29And suppose,
00:03:32it's a rainy day,
00:03:34it's raining cats and dogs.
00:03:37And if someone wishes you,
00:03:39Good morning,
00:03:40what is so good about that morning?
00:03:42It's raining cats and dogs,
00:03:44the city is flooded,
00:03:45and yet you say,
00:03:46Good morning,
00:03:46what is so good about that morning?
00:03:48And when we go to school,
00:03:51and if you are studying in English school,
00:03:54every period,
00:03:56in the beginning of the day,
00:03:58in the morning,
00:03:59when the teacher enters,
00:04:01all the students wish the teacher,
00:04:04Good morning, sir.
00:04:06It's compulsory.
00:04:06And maybe the teacher,
00:04:11before he left his house,
00:04:13maybe he had a fight with his wife early in the morning.
00:04:19He may be cursing that morning in his heart.
00:04:23He may be praying that never should such a morning ever come in his life.
00:04:27But in spite of this,
00:04:29when the students wish,
00:04:30Good morning, sir,
00:04:31he has to reply,
00:04:33Good morning.
00:04:35Even though,
00:04:36from the depth of his heart,
00:04:37he may never wish that such a morning should come again,
00:04:40yet he replies by,
00:04:41Good morning.
00:04:41What is so good about that morning?
00:04:43In which a person has a fight with his spouse.
00:04:47The best form of greeting,
00:04:49is a sum greeting.
00:04:51As-salamu alaykum.
00:04:53May peace be on you.
00:04:54Irrespective whether it's a rainy day,
00:04:56whether it's raining cats and dogs,
00:04:57whether you're at a fight with your spouse,
00:04:59or with your friend,
00:05:00yet,
00:05:01the greeting,
00:05:02As-salamu alaykum,
00:05:04may peace be on you,
00:05:05is the most appropriate.
00:05:09We have another form of greeting,
00:05:11especially among the young people,
00:05:14who go to schools and colleges.
00:05:16When they wish their friend,
00:05:17they say hi.
00:05:20And if,
00:05:21a young friend,
00:05:22wishes to his friend across the street,
00:05:24hi,
00:05:25the friend will reply,
00:05:25Hi!
00:05:27And when you ask him,
00:05:29what is the meaning of hi?
00:05:31No one will be able to reply.
00:05:33What is the meaning of hi?
00:05:36No one will be able to reply.
00:05:39In Hindi,
00:05:40that's the local language,
00:05:41out here,
00:05:42hi,
00:05:43is,
00:05:44a form of disgust.
00:05:46You know, hi.
00:05:47In English,
00:05:49with H-I-G-H,
00:05:50hi means,
00:05:51something which is on a height.
00:05:52And another meaning of hi is a slang word
00:05:55for a person who's intoxicated.
00:05:58And people say,
00:05:59I went to the party,
00:06:00and I got high,
00:06:01I got drunk,
00:06:02I got intoxicated.
00:06:04Is it a courteous greeting?
00:06:06In fact,
00:06:07I say,
00:06:08it is not a greeting at all.
00:06:10Leave aside,
00:06:11it being a courteous greeting,
00:06:12hi is not a greeting at all.
00:06:13The other common greeting
00:06:18which most of us use
00:06:19is hello.
00:06:22And if we look up
00:06:24in the Oxford Dictionary
00:06:26the meaning of hello,
00:06:28it says,
00:06:29an informal greeting.
00:06:33And the other meaning given
00:06:34in the Oxford Dictionary is
00:06:36that to begin
00:06:39a telephonic conversation,
00:06:42to begin a talk,
00:06:43to start a talk
00:06:44on the telephone.
00:06:47Do you know,
00:06:47how did
00:06:48this idea come about?
00:06:50That to start
00:06:51a telephonic conversation
00:06:52you should say hello.
00:06:54The person who invented
00:06:56the telephone
00:06:56was
00:06:57Sir Alexander Graham Bell.
00:07:00And once,
00:07:01when he was leaving his house
00:07:02in a hurry,
00:07:03the bell rang.
00:07:04And to initiate
00:07:05an early response,
00:07:07he said hello.
00:07:08So that he can greet the person,
00:07:10and the person responds fast,
00:07:12and he can go out
00:07:12of the house
00:07:13soon.
00:07:15This word hello
00:07:16to start
00:07:17a telephonic conversation
00:07:18has stuck
00:07:19since that time
00:07:20and even today
00:07:21everyone uses it.
00:07:23You use it,
00:07:23and even I use it.
00:07:26Hello to start
00:07:26a telephonic conversation.
00:07:29But nowadays,
00:07:30especially in Bombay,
00:07:32thanks to the MTNL,
00:07:34that the word hello
00:07:35is used more often
00:07:37in between a conversation.
00:07:39Because when the sound
00:07:40goes low,
00:07:40you say hello,
00:07:40can you hear me?
00:07:41Hello?
00:07:42The Oxford Dictionary
00:07:43says hello
00:07:44is used to start
00:07:45a telephonic conversation.
00:07:47But in Bombay,
00:07:48it's used more
00:07:48in between the talk
00:07:50than the beginning
00:07:50of the talk.
00:07:52And since the time
00:07:53the mobile has been invented,
00:07:55and
00:07:55when
00:07:57the area of reception
00:07:59is not very clear,
00:08:00you have to use the word hello
00:08:01even in between
00:08:02the telephonic conversation.
00:08:04So maybe in the
00:08:05Revised Edition
00:08:05of Oxford Dictionary,
00:08:07they may change the meaning
00:08:08hello
00:08:08can also be used
00:08:09in between
00:08:10a telephonic conversation.
00:08:13I fail to realize
00:08:15that why does
00:08:17the Western world
00:08:18use any other
00:08:19form of greeting
00:08:20than the one
00:08:21used by Jesus
00:08:22peace be upon him?
00:08:24Why do the Westerners,
00:08:25especially the Christians,
00:08:27use any other
00:08:28form of greeting
00:08:29than the one
00:08:30used by Jesus
00:08:31peace be upon him?
00:08:32And if you read the Bible,
00:08:35it's mentioned
00:08:35in the New Testament,
00:08:37in the Gospel of Luke,
00:08:39chapter number 24,
00:08:40verse number 36,
00:08:41that after the
00:08:42Elish crucifixion,
00:08:44when Jesus
00:08:45peace be upon him,
00:08:45goes to the upper room
00:08:46to meet the disciples,
00:08:48he wishes them
00:08:49in Hebrew,
00:08:50Shalamualaikum.
00:08:52If you translate
00:08:53the Hebrew
00:08:53into Arabic,
00:08:55it means
00:08:56As-Salamualaikum.
00:08:58And if you translate
00:08:58it into English,
00:08:59it means
00:09:00may peace
00:09:01be on you.
00:09:03The best
00:09:03and the most
00:09:04universal
00:09:05form of
00:09:06any greeting
00:09:07is
00:09:07As-Salamualaikum.
00:09:09May peace
00:09:09be on you.
00:09:13And our beloved
00:09:14Prophet,
00:09:15Muhammad,
00:09:15peace be upon him,
00:09:17was always
00:09:18the first person
00:09:20to greet
00:09:21the people.
00:09:24Many of the
00:09:24Sahabas,
00:09:25many of the
00:09:26companions of the
00:09:26beloved Prophet,
00:09:27on many occasions,
00:09:29they tried to be
00:09:30the first person
00:09:31to greet,
00:09:33but
00:09:33they failed.
00:09:35The Prophet,
00:09:36Alhamdulillah,
00:09:36was always the
00:09:37first person
00:09:38to greet.
00:09:40And a beloved
00:09:40Prophet,
00:09:41Muhammad,
00:09:41sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
00:09:41said,
00:09:42it's mentioned
00:09:43in Sahih Muslim,
00:09:45volume number 3,
00:09:47in the book
00:09:47of As-Salam,
00:09:49chapter number
00:09:50901,
00:09:52hadith number
00:09:525374,
00:09:55Abu Huraira,
00:09:56may Allah be
00:09:57pleased with him,
00:09:59he said,
00:10:00that the Prophet,
00:10:01peace be upon him,
00:10:01said,
00:10:03that
00:10:03the rider
00:10:06should first
00:10:07greet
00:10:07the pedestrian.
00:10:09The pedestrian
00:10:10should first
00:10:11greet
00:10:12the person
00:10:13who's standing.
00:10:14A smaller group
00:10:15should first
00:10:16greet
00:10:17the larger group.
00:10:19That means
00:10:19if a person
00:10:20is riding
00:10:20on an animal
00:10:23like horse,
00:10:24etc.,
00:10:24or a camel,
00:10:25or if he's
00:10:26traveling in a vehicle
00:10:27like a car
00:10:28or a motorcycle,
00:10:29he should be
00:10:29the first person
00:10:30to greet
00:10:31the person
00:10:32who is walking
00:10:33on the streets,
00:10:34that's pedestrian.
00:10:35A pedestrian
00:10:36should be
00:10:37the first person
00:10:37who should greet
00:10:39a person
00:10:39who's standing
00:10:40or sitting.
00:10:42Similarly,
00:10:43a smaller group
00:10:44should first
00:10:45greet
00:10:45the larger group.
00:10:48It further
00:10:48mentioned
00:10:49in Sahih Muslim,
00:10:51volume number
00:10:51three,
00:10:53in the book
00:10:53of As-Salaam,
00:10:55chapter number
00:10:55903,
00:10:57hadith number
00:10:585378,
00:11:01Abu Huraira,
00:11:02may Allah be pleased
00:11:03with him,
00:11:03he says,
00:11:04that the Prophet
00:11:05said that
00:11:06it is the right
00:11:08of every Muslim
00:11:09on his brother,
00:11:13it is the right
00:11:13of every Muslim
00:11:14on his brother,
00:11:16that
00:11:16he replies
00:11:19to a salutation.
00:11:21Whenever anyone
00:11:21says As-Salaam
00:11:22Waalaikum,
00:11:22he should reply
00:11:23Waalaikum As-Salaam,
00:11:25minimum.
00:11:26There are
00:11:27minimum five rights
00:11:28of a Muslim
00:11:29on his brother.
00:11:30The first is
00:11:31replying to a salutation.
00:11:33and continues
00:11:35that
00:11:36saying
00:11:37when someone
00:11:39sneezes
00:11:39and says
00:11:40Alhamdulillah,
00:11:42visiting
00:11:42a person
00:11:43when he is sick
00:11:44and following
00:11:46the funeral procession,
00:11:48these are
00:11:49the five rights
00:11:50of a Muslim
00:11:50over his brother.
00:11:52And the Prophet
00:11:53Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam,
00:11:54he also said
00:11:55that
00:11:56a younger person
00:11:58should first
00:11:59greet
00:12:00a person
00:12:01who is elder.
00:12:02A person
00:12:02coming down
00:12:03the flight of stairs
00:12:04should first
00:12:05greet a person
00:12:06who is going
00:12:06up the flight of stairs.
00:12:09These are the teachings
00:12:10of the beloved Prophet
00:12:11Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
00:12:12Now,
00:12:13how is it possible
00:12:14for any Muslim
00:12:15to follow
00:12:18the commandments
00:12:19of the beloved Prophet
00:12:20as well
00:12:21as
00:12:22how is it possible
00:12:23to follow
00:12:24the commandments
00:12:25of Allah
00:12:25which is mentioned
00:12:27in Surah Anam
00:12:28chapter number 6
00:12:29verse number 54
00:12:30which says
00:12:31that
00:12:31that
00:12:37when those
00:12:38come to thee
00:12:38who believe
00:12:39in our signs
00:12:40wish them
00:12:41As-Salaamu Alaihi Wasallam.
00:12:44How is it possible
00:12:45for us
00:12:45to follow
00:12:46the commandments
00:12:46of Allah
00:12:47and the beloved Prophet
00:12:49unless you recognize
00:12:50that the person
00:12:51in front of you
00:12:52is a Muslim?
00:12:54How is it possible
00:12:55for me to recognize
00:12:56that this particular
00:12:57human being
00:12:58believes in the sign
00:12:59of Allah
00:13:00subhanahu wa ta'ala
00:13:00unless I recognize
00:13:02that he is a Muslim
00:13:03or he is a Mormon?
00:13:08Usually
00:13:09when you attend
00:13:10the conference
00:13:10the delegates
00:13:13they wear a label
00:13:15or they wear a badge
00:13:16on which
00:13:18on which
00:13:18is mentioned
00:13:19the name
00:13:20of the delegate
00:13:20and
00:13:21his designation
00:13:23or
00:13:23the place
00:13:26where he comes from
00:13:26if
00:13:29if
00:13:29it's a conference
00:13:30of intellectuals
00:13:33maybe
00:13:33the profession
00:13:34is mentioned
00:13:35whether he is a doctor
00:13:36or an engineer
00:13:37or an advocate
00:13:38if it's a conference
00:13:40of specialists
00:13:42in the field
00:13:43of medicine
00:13:43the speciality
00:13:44is mentioned
00:13:45whether
00:13:47he is a cardiologist
00:13:48a heart specialist
00:13:49whether he is
00:13:51a neurologist
00:13:52a brain specialist
00:13:53whether he is
00:13:54a urologist
00:13:55a specialist
00:13:56of the kidney
00:13:57whether he is
00:13:58a gynecologist
00:13:59a specialist
00:14:00in the disease
00:14:01of the woman
00:14:02whether he is a pediatrician
00:14:04a specialist
00:14:04of the children
00:14:05the speciality
00:14:07of that person
00:14:08is mentioned
00:14:08this batch
00:14:11or a label
00:14:12which the delegates wear
00:14:15it's a sort
00:14:16of an informal introduction
00:14:18if you want to ask
00:14:23any question
00:14:23about the heart
00:14:25you will ask
00:14:27a cardiologist
00:14:28if you want to know
00:14:30about something
00:14:30about the brain
00:14:31some latest advances
00:14:32you will go
00:14:33and approach
00:14:34a neurologist
00:14:35if you want to know
00:14:36something about
00:14:37the treatment
00:14:37of the disease
00:14:38of the children
00:14:38you will approach
00:14:39a pediatrician
00:14:40this batch
00:14:42is a sort
00:14:43of an informal
00:14:44introduction
00:14:44it's a requirement
00:14:47that every Muslim
00:14:49should also have
00:14:51a label
00:14:51for example
00:14:53I am wearing a badge
00:14:55I have a label
00:14:56on which is mentioned
00:14:58Allah
00:14:59any person
00:15:01whether Muslim
00:15:02or non-Muslim
00:15:03when he sees this batch
00:15:05even if he cannot
00:15:06read Arabic
00:15:06he will realize
00:15:08it is something
00:15:08in Arabic
00:15:09and he will immediately
00:15:10realize
00:15:11that this person
00:15:12is a Muslim
00:15:13it's an informal
00:15:14introduction
00:15:15introducing myself
00:15:16that I am a Muslim
00:15:18there are various
00:15:20other batches available
00:15:20and we have
00:15:22a great variety
00:15:24in the Islamist foundation
00:15:26batches mentioning
00:15:27la ilaha illallah
00:15:28Muhammad Rasulullah
00:15:30that there is no God
00:15:31but Allah
00:15:31and Prophet Muhammad
00:15:32is the messenger
00:15:34of Allah
00:15:34subhanahu wa ta'ala
00:15:35we have batches
00:15:36mentioning
00:15:36Quran
00:15:37is the word of God
00:15:39for universal guidance
00:15:40when a person
00:15:42sees the batch
00:15:43a non-Muslim
00:15:44he may also be inquisitive
00:15:46that
00:15:47what is this batch
00:15:48you are wearing
00:15:49what does it mean
00:15:51Allah
00:15:51and you have an opportunity
00:15:53to do dawah
00:15:54he may ask
00:15:56that Quran
00:15:56the word of God
00:15:57what is this Quran
00:15:59an opportunity
00:16:00to talk
00:16:01it's not possible
00:16:03for all the Muslims
00:16:05in the ummah
00:16:05to wear a batch
00:16:07like the one I am wearing
00:16:07it's difficult
00:16:08it's not freely available
00:16:10and it's also expensive
00:16:11therefore I wouldn't say
00:16:14that everyone
00:16:15should wear a batch
00:16:15and neither do I
00:16:16wear a batch always
00:16:17I don't wear this batch always
00:16:19just a few times
00:16:20not always
00:16:21when I wear the coat
00:16:22I wear a batch
00:16:23not always
00:16:24it's not practical
00:16:24that every Muslim
00:16:26should wear such a batch
00:16:27why don't we Muslims
00:16:30wear a label
00:16:31which is being worn
00:16:33since ages
00:16:35and it's already there
00:16:36in our community
00:16:37since ages
00:16:39I'm referring
00:16:40to the beard
00:16:42and the cap
00:16:43that why don't we Muslims
00:16:46wear the label
00:16:47that is
00:16:49sport a beard
00:16:50and
00:16:51wear a cap
00:16:52there may be many
00:16:55Muslim brothers of mine
00:16:56who may ask me
00:16:57that brother Zakir
00:16:59what does
00:17:01the cap
00:17:02and the beard
00:17:03have to do with Islam
00:17:04do I have to wear a cap
00:17:07and sport a beard
00:17:08for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
00:17:10to recognize
00:17:11that I am a Muslim
00:17:12for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
00:17:14to recognize
00:17:15any human being
00:17:16whether he is a Muslim
00:17:17or not
00:17:17he doesn't require us
00:17:19to wear
00:17:19a cap
00:17:20or sport a beard
00:17:21Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
00:17:23is in my game
00:17:24he has the knowledge
00:17:25if you deserve
00:17:27Jannah
00:17:28heaven
00:17:29Allah will give it to you
00:17:30if you deserve
00:17:32Jahannam
00:17:33hell
00:17:33Allah will give it to you
00:17:34Allah doesn't require
00:17:35a person
00:17:37to wear the cap
00:17:38or sport a beard
00:17:39to recognize
00:17:40whether you are a Muslim
00:17:40or not
00:17:41but the question
00:17:42I ask
00:17:43that how will
00:17:44I as a Muslim
00:17:45who doesn't
00:17:47have a little gab
00:17:47will recognize
00:17:49whether the person
00:17:50in front of me
00:17:51whether he is a Muslim
00:17:52or not
00:17:52how will I recognize
00:17:53how will I follow
00:17:58the commandments
00:17:59of the glorious Quran
00:18:00in Surah Anam
00:18:01chapter 6 verse 54
00:18:02that whenever those
00:18:04come to thee
00:18:04who believe in our signs
00:18:06whenever the moments
00:18:07approach you
00:18:08whenever the Muslims
00:18:09approach you
00:18:09wish them
00:18:10assalamualaikum
00:18:11how can I follow
00:18:12this guidance
00:18:13unless I recognize
00:18:14that the person
00:18:15in front of me
00:18:16is a Muslim
00:18:17or not
00:18:17people may ask me
00:18:20is it a fard
00:18:21is it compulsory
00:18:23to keep a beard
00:18:24and wear a cap
00:18:25I have not come across
00:18:28a single verse
00:18:29in the glorious Quran
00:18:30which says
00:18:31that it is a fard
00:18:32to keep a beard
00:18:33there is not a single
00:18:34verse in the glorious Quran
00:18:35the only place
00:18:38where the Quran
00:18:39mentions about the beard
00:18:40is in Surah Taha
00:18:42chapter number 20
00:18:43verse number 94
00:18:45which says
00:18:46he said
00:18:50Aaron
00:18:51peace be upon him
00:18:51tells his elder brother
00:18:52Moses
00:18:53peace be upon him
00:18:53he said
00:18:54that
00:18:55oh son of my mother
00:18:57don't hold me
00:19:03by my beard
00:19:04or
00:19:05by the hair
00:19:06on my head
00:19:07this is the only verse
00:19:09in the glorious Quran
00:19:09which mentions
00:19:10the word beard
00:19:11Aaron
00:19:13peace be upon him
00:19:14tells his elder brother
00:19:15Moses peace be upon him
00:19:16when he gets angry
00:19:16that don't hold me
00:19:18by my beard
00:19:19or by the hair
00:19:20on my head
00:19:21indicating
00:19:21that
00:19:22Harun
00:19:23had a beard
00:19:25that's all
00:19:26this verse doesn't say
00:19:28that it is compulsory
00:19:29for every Muslim
00:19:31to keep a beard
00:19:32but
00:19:33the glorious Quran
00:19:35says
00:19:36in several places
00:19:37in several places
00:19:41in Surah Al-Imran
00:19:43chapter number 3
00:19:43verse number 32
00:19:44in Surah Al-Imran
00:19:46chapter number 3
00:19:47verse number 132
00:19:48in Surah Nisa
00:19:49chapter number 4
00:19:50verse number 59
00:19:51in Surah Maida
00:19:52chapter number 5
00:19:53verse number 92
00:19:54in Surah Anfal
00:19:55chapter number 8
00:19:56verse number 1
00:19:57in Surah Anfal
00:19:58chapter number 8
00:19:58verse number 20
00:19:59in Surah Anfal
00:20:00chapter number 8
00:20:00verse number 46
00:20:01in Surah Noor
00:20:02chapter number 24
00:20:03verse number 54
00:20:04in Surah Noor
00:20:04chapter number 24
00:20:05verse number 56
00:20:06in Surah Muhammad
00:20:07chapter number 47
00:20:09verse number 33
00:20:10in Surah Mujahidullah
00:20:11chapter number 58
00:20:12verse number 13
00:20:13in several places, including
00:20:15Surah Taqabun, chapter number 64,
00:20:17verse number 12, the glorious Quran says,
00:20:19Atiullah wa Atiur Rasul.
00:20:22Obey Allah and
00:20:23obey the messenger.
00:20:25It's compulsory that every Muslim
00:20:27should obey Allah and
00:20:29obey the messenger.
00:20:31And it's mentioned
00:20:32in Sahih Bukhari,
00:20:35volume number 7,
00:20:37in the book of dress,
00:20:39chapter number 64,
00:20:41hadith number 780,
00:20:42Nafi, may Allah be pleased with him,
00:20:44he narrated that Ibn Umar,
00:20:46the son of Umar, said
00:20:48that the prophet, peace be upon him,
00:20:50said that do the
00:20:52opposite of what the pagans do.
00:20:55Keep the beard
00:20:56and cut the
00:20:58moustaches short.
00:21:01It's a commandment of
00:21:02the beloved prophet that keep the beard
00:21:04and cut the moustaches short.
00:21:07It's further mentioned in
00:21:08Sahih Bukhari, volume number 7,
00:21:10in the book of dress,
00:21:12chapter number 65,
00:21:14hadith number 781,
00:21:16that Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him,
00:21:20he narrates
00:21:20that the messenger of Allah,
00:21:23peace be upon him,
00:21:24said
00:21:24that
00:21:25cut your moustaches short
00:21:28and leave your beard.
00:21:30most of the scholars say that keeping a beard is
00:21:35mustahab.
00:21:37Mustahab means
00:21:38highly recommended.
00:21:40Or some people say
00:21:40sunnah-e-mauqidah.
00:21:42It's a highly recommended sunnah
00:21:44of the beloved prophet.
00:21:46While there are many other scholars who say
00:21:48that because the Quran says,
00:21:49Atiyu Allah, Atiyu Rasul,
00:21:51obey Allah and obey the messenger,
00:21:54any commandment of the messenger
00:21:56becomes a fard on every Muslim.
00:21:58So there are many scholars who say
00:22:00that keeping a beard is fard.
00:22:03Many scholars say
00:22:04it is mustahab,
00:22:06highly recommended,
00:22:07while some scholars say,
00:22:09many others say,
00:22:10that it is a fard
00:22:11because it's an amr.
00:22:13It's a commandment of the beloved prophet.
00:22:16Any commandment of the beloved prophet
00:22:17becomes a fard on every Muslim.
00:22:21But
00:22:26any Muslim,
00:22:29if he's a true Muslim,
00:22:30irrespective whether it's mustahab
00:22:32or a fard,
00:22:33he will keep a beard.
00:22:37There are many Muslims
00:22:38on whose faith
00:22:42the beard will suit very well
00:22:43if they have a good growth.
00:22:45There are many Muslims
00:22:45on whose faith
00:22:47the beard may not suit.
00:22:49I remember the first time
00:22:50when I kept a beard.
00:22:52when I was studying
00:22:53in the medical college.
00:22:54And my growth
00:22:55was very sparse.
00:22:56Even now,
00:22:57it's not thick.
00:22:58It is the same.
00:22:59But previously,
00:23:00it was more sparse.
00:23:00You know,
00:23:01just a few hair
00:23:01here and there.
00:23:03So when I started
00:23:03keeping a beard,
00:23:04one of the Muslim brothers said,
00:23:06MashaAllah,
00:23:07you have a nurani chair.
00:23:08The beard
00:23:09has thrown light on your face
00:23:11and the beard suits you.
00:23:13What the Muslim brother
00:23:14was trying to do
00:23:14was to encourage me
00:23:15that I should continue
00:23:16keeping the beard.
00:23:17Alhamdulillah.
00:23:18But I knew
00:23:18that as far as looks
00:23:20as concerned,
00:23:20the beard did not suit me.
00:23:23You know,
00:23:23just a few hair here
00:23:24and a few hair here
00:23:24and a few hair there.
00:23:25It didn't suit me.
00:23:26Even now,
00:23:26after so many years,
00:23:28it has grown a bit.
00:23:29Alhamdulillah.
00:23:30But not like many of us people
00:23:32who have got a good growth.
00:23:34Alhamdulillah.
00:23:34I had a sparse growth.
00:23:38But I have a logic
00:23:40and I say
00:23:41that those Muslims
00:23:42who have a good growth
00:23:44and if the beard suits them
00:23:45and they keep the beard,
00:23:47inshallah,
00:23:49they will get the sawaab
00:23:50because they are being
00:23:51Allah and his messenger.
00:23:52But those Muslims
00:23:53who don't have a good growth
00:23:55and if the beard
00:23:57doesn't suit them
00:23:58and yet
00:23:59if they keep the beard
00:24:00to follow Allah
00:24:02and his Rasul,
00:24:02inshallah,
00:24:03they will get more sawaab.
00:24:05Because imagine,
00:24:06even though the beard
00:24:07doesn't suit me,
00:24:08if the beard
00:24:09doesn't suit a Muslim,
00:24:10yet he keeps
00:24:11for the love of Allah
00:24:12and his Rasul.
00:24:13I consider
00:24:13that inshallah,
00:24:15he will get more sawaab.
00:24:17All those who keep the beard
00:24:18will get the sawaab
00:24:19but the person
00:24:20on whom the beard
00:24:21doesn't suit
00:24:21and yet he keeps it
00:24:23knowing very well
00:24:24it doesn't suit him
00:24:25for the love of Allah
00:24:25and his Rasul,
00:24:26he will get multiple times
00:24:28more sawaab.
00:24:32Normally,
00:24:33if you analyze
00:24:33that all the human beings
00:24:36who keep a beard,
00:24:38if you
00:24:39take a survey,
00:24:41approximately
00:24:42more than
00:24:43three-fourths
00:24:44of the men
00:24:46who sport a beard,
00:24:48they are Muslims.
00:24:49More than 75%
00:24:50of the men
00:24:51who sport a beard,
00:24:52they are Muslims.
00:24:53Maybe
00:24:53about 25%,
00:24:55maybe non-Muslims.
00:24:57But those non-Muslims
00:24:59who sport a beard,
00:25:01they may have
00:25:02a typical type of beard,
00:25:03you know,
00:25:03with the mustache
00:25:04curled up
00:25:04so you can make out
00:25:05that he's not a Muslim
00:25:08or may have
00:25:09a particular type
00:25:09of beard resembling
00:25:10some other personality
00:25:12indicating that
00:25:13this is not
00:25:13an Islamic type of beard
00:25:14or he may wear
00:25:15an additional sign
00:25:17like a tikka
00:25:19owned by the Hindus
00:25:20or wear a cross
00:25:21the sign of a Christian.
00:25:24So most of the time
00:25:25when the non-Muslims
00:25:26keep a beard,
00:25:28depending upon
00:25:29the type of the beard
00:25:29or the sign
00:25:30that they're wearing
00:25:31a cross or a tikka,
00:25:32you can identify
00:25:33that though this person
00:25:34has a beard,
00:25:35he is a non-Muslim.
00:25:37So when you meet
00:25:37a person
00:25:38sporting a beard,
00:25:40majority of the time,
00:25:42more than 95%
00:25:43of the time,
00:25:44you can identify
00:25:45whether this person
00:25:46is a Muslim or not.
00:25:51And
00:25:51for additional,
00:25:53for additional assurance,
00:25:56we have another label.
00:25:58I'm referring to the cap.
00:25:59People may ask me
00:26:03that is it a fard
00:26:04to wear a cap?
00:26:06There is no verse
00:26:07in the glorious Quran
00:26:07saying that
00:26:08it's a fard to wear a cap.
00:26:10Neither did our prophet
00:26:10say that it's a fard
00:26:11to wear a cap.
00:26:12So I wouldn't say
00:26:13it's a fard.
00:26:14But
00:26:14it is a sunnah.
00:26:18And if you read
00:26:18Sahih Bukhari,
00:26:23form number 7
00:26:23in the book of Dress,
00:26:26chapter number 16,
00:26:29it's mentioned
00:26:30according
00:26:30to Ibn Abbas
00:26:32that the beloved prophet
00:26:33Muhammad
00:26:34when he came,
00:26:38he wore a black turban.
00:26:40The prophet,
00:26:41whenever he went out,
00:26:44he always covered the head.
00:26:45Unless he was
00:26:46in a state of Ahra,
00:26:47he always covered the head.
00:26:49According
00:26:50to Anas bin Malik,
00:26:54he said
00:26:54that when the prophet
00:26:55came out,
00:26:56he covered the head
00:26:57with a part of his garment.
00:27:00Further,
00:27:01if you read
00:27:01in Sahih Bukhari,
00:27:02form number 7,
00:27:03in the book of Dress,
00:27:05chapter number 17,
00:27:06Hadith number 699,
00:27:08Anas bin Malik,
00:27:11he said
00:27:12that in the year
00:27:14of the conquest of Mecca,
00:27:15when the prophet
00:27:16entered Mecca,
00:27:17he was wearing a helmet.
00:27:19The prophet
00:27:19always covered his head.
00:27:21So it is a sunnah
00:27:22to cover your head,
00:27:23whether it be
00:27:24with a piece of cloth
00:27:26or
00:27:26like a head covering
00:27:28with the Arabs wear
00:27:29or a cap.
00:27:32And
00:27:32the muhaddis,
00:27:35those who are experts
00:27:35in the knowledge
00:27:38of Hadith,
00:27:40if they have to verify
00:27:41whether the rabi,
00:27:42whether the person
00:27:42who narrated
00:27:43is a sikka,
00:27:45is true or not,
00:27:46many of the muhaddis
00:27:47who are staunch,
00:27:49they do not regard
00:27:50the Hadith
00:27:51of a narrator
00:27:52who did not cover his head.
00:27:54Because if a narrator
00:27:55did not cover his head,
00:27:56the staunch muhaddis say,
00:27:57we will not accept his Hadith.
00:28:00So imagine
00:28:01it is a sunnah
00:28:02to cover the head.
00:28:05And
00:28:05the cap,
00:28:07it is so cheap.
00:28:10It is so cheap.
00:28:12You know,
00:28:12hardly cost about 10 rupees,
00:28:1415 rupees,
00:28:14or 20 rupees.
00:28:15The one that I am wearing,
00:28:17it's made in China,
00:28:18cost about 25 rupees.
00:28:21It's a harmless thing.
00:28:23It cannot even hurt a fly.
00:28:25It is so harmless.
00:28:26But it can do wonders.
00:28:29It can do wonders.
00:28:31And
00:28:32I normally keep on travelling.
00:28:34Alhamdulillah.
00:28:35I keep on travelling
00:28:36in various parts of the world.
00:28:38And people,
00:28:39when they see me,
00:28:40especially when I go to the Western country,
00:28:41who is this man?
00:28:42You know,
00:28:42fine-looking man
00:28:43wearing a coat
00:28:44and trousers
00:28:45and wearing a cap.
00:28:46It looks a bit funny.
00:28:47And many people
00:28:50who aren't aware,
00:28:51they ask,
00:28:51what is this cap?
00:28:53So I tell him,
00:28:54it's a sign,
00:28:55it's my label.
00:28:56I'm a Muslim.
00:28:57Oh, you're a Muslim.
00:28:59An opportunity to Dawah,
00:29:01where it is a farz in Islam.
00:29:02An opportunity.
00:29:04People wonder,
00:29:05what is this person,
00:29:05you know,
00:29:06wearing a funny type of headgear?
00:29:08They come and approach you.
00:29:09They are giving you an opportunity
00:29:11to open your mouth.
00:29:13It does wonders.
00:29:14People start respecting you,
00:29:16Alhamdulillah.
00:29:17It's a harmless thing.
00:29:19It can't even hurt a fly,
00:29:20but it does wonders.
00:29:23And if suppose you're working
00:29:25in an office,
00:29:27which is being owned by a non-Muslim,
00:29:30and if suppose
00:29:30he does not like you wearing the cap.
00:29:33It's very easy.
00:29:34Take it out
00:29:35and keep it in your pocket.
00:29:37But the moment
00:29:38the office time is over,
00:29:41you can wear the cap back.
00:29:44It's,
00:29:46you're right.
00:29:47He's only paying you
00:29:48for eight or ten hours
00:29:49that you're working for him.
00:29:51But the moment you come out,
00:29:53you can wear the cap.
00:29:54It's preferable to wear it always,
00:29:56but suppose you have
00:29:57a certain problem
00:29:58that you have to work in that office
00:29:59and if it doesn't allow you,
00:30:00no problem.
00:30:01Take out the cap
00:30:02and keep it in your pocket.
00:30:05It does wonders.
00:30:06You know,
00:30:07when we go to the mosque,
00:30:08Alhamdulillah,
00:30:09we see that the majority
00:30:10of the Muslims,
00:30:11they wear the cap.
00:30:12Alhamdulillah.
00:30:13But when they come out,
00:30:14most of them
00:30:15put it in the pocket.
00:30:16Why?
00:30:17What is the problem?
00:30:20Are you afraid
00:30:21to identify yourself
00:30:22to be Muslim outside?
00:30:23Are you afraid?
00:30:25What are you afraid of?
00:30:26In the mosque,
00:30:27Alhamdulillah,
00:30:27you wear the cap.
00:30:28But when you come out,
00:30:29you put the label
00:30:30in your pocket.
00:30:31See,
00:30:31in the mosque,
00:30:33people recognize
00:30:33you're a Muslim.
00:30:35Alhamdulillah,
00:30:36you should even wear it there.
00:30:37But when you come out,
00:30:38why do you keep it
00:30:39in your pocket?
00:30:42And if you ask
00:30:43your grandparents
00:30:43and those
00:30:45elderly people,
00:30:47they will tell you
00:30:48that people respected
00:30:51this label,
00:30:52the cap and the beard.
00:30:54And the non-Muslims,
00:30:55very often,
00:30:57when they wanted
00:30:57to hire a taxi,
00:30:59a cab,
00:31:01they searched
00:31:01for a driver
00:31:02who wore a cap
00:31:03and a beard.
00:31:05You know,
00:31:05so that,
00:31:05oh,
00:31:05these are Muslims,
00:31:06you know,
00:31:07they're honest people.
00:31:08They will not cheat us.
00:31:09They will not take us
00:31:10for a ride.
00:31:11And if you have
00:31:12to purchase something
00:31:13from a shop,
00:31:15they prefer going
00:31:16to a shop
00:31:16which was owned
00:31:17by a person
00:31:17sporting a beard
00:31:18and wearing a cap.
00:31:19Ah,
00:31:19they will not cheat us.
00:31:20They will wear
00:31:21the material correctly.
00:31:23The label had the respect.
00:31:25But nowadays,
00:31:26if you're wearing a cap
00:31:29and sporting a beard,
00:31:30oh,
00:31:31you're coming from
00:31:31Bindi Bazar,
00:31:32from Dongri.
00:31:34Ah,
00:31:34this person may be
00:31:35a gunda,
00:31:36you know.
00:31:37He may be a hooligan.
00:31:39It's a shame
00:31:40that we Muslims,
00:31:41we are to blame.
00:31:42We have spoiled
00:31:43the respect
00:31:44of our label.
00:31:46And it is true
00:31:47that there are
00:31:48some Muslims
00:31:48who misuse
00:31:50this label
00:31:51and they try
00:31:52and show that
00:31:53they're macho,
00:31:53you know.
00:31:54Oh,
00:31:54we are brave.
00:31:55Wearing a cap
00:31:56and sporting a beard.
00:31:57Miyaabai.
00:31:58On to Dada Agiri.
00:31:59Want to go around
00:31:59and show that
00:32:00we are macho.
00:32:01There are a few of us
00:32:02who have spoiled the name.
00:32:05Therefore,
00:32:05many Muslims say,
00:32:06let's see,
00:32:06I don't want to wear
00:32:07a cap and sport a beard.
00:32:08Otherwise,
00:32:09he'll think that
00:32:09I'm a gunda.
00:32:10I'm a hooligan.
00:32:11Therefore,
00:32:11I don't want to wear
00:32:12the cap or the beard.
00:32:13You know,
00:32:13people argue.
00:32:15So I tell them,
00:32:16because of a mistake
00:32:17of a few of the Muslim
00:32:18brothers
00:32:19who have spoiled the labels,
00:32:21why should
00:32:21we ourselves
00:32:23stop respecting the label?
00:32:25Even if I agree with you,
00:32:28for sake of argument,
00:32:29that every person
00:32:30wearing a cap
00:32:31and sporting a beard
00:32:31is not a good person,
00:32:33for sake of argument,
00:32:34what I tell
00:32:35the Muslim brothers.
00:32:35at least you
00:32:37be the first person
00:32:38who starts wearing a cap
00:32:40and sporting a beard
00:32:41and say,
00:32:41I don't know about
00:32:42the other people.
00:32:43At least I am a Muslim
00:32:44who wears the label,
00:32:46has a cap,
00:32:46sports a beard
00:32:47and I'm a good Muslim.
00:32:49I'm a good human being.
00:32:50I don't cheat.
00:32:52I don't tell lies.
00:32:54I don't bribe.
00:32:55I'm a good Muslim.
00:32:57You at least be
00:32:57the first person
00:32:58to initiate.
00:32:59Tomorrow,
00:33:00there'll be 10 people,
00:33:01there'll be 100 people,
00:33:02there'll be 1,000 people
00:33:03and inshallah,
00:33:04once again,
00:33:05the respect for the label,
00:33:07the cap and the beard
00:33:07will be restored.
00:33:09We cannot give this argument,
00:33:11oh, you know,
00:33:11because, you know,
00:33:12if we wear the label,
00:33:13people think that
00:33:14we are bad,
00:33:15we are hooligans.
00:33:16We have to change the society.
00:33:19We have to bring back
00:33:21the respect
00:33:22which our label has lost.
00:33:27And,
00:33:28there are many Muslims
00:33:30who are apologetic.
00:33:33who are afraid
00:33:34to identify themselves
00:33:35as Muslims.
00:33:36You know why?
00:33:37That if they wear the label,
00:33:38wear a cap
00:33:38and sport the beard,
00:33:40the people may ask the question,
00:33:41ah,
00:33:42you are the same Muslim
00:33:43who is allowed to marry
00:33:44more than one wife.
00:33:45Ah.
00:33:46Oh,
00:33:46you are the same Muslim
00:33:48who is circumcised.
00:33:51Ah,
00:33:52the same Muslim
00:33:52who does not have alcohol,
00:33:54who keeps the woman
00:33:55in the veil,
00:33:56who subjugates the woman.
00:33:57so they are afraid
00:33:58to identify themselves
00:33:59as Muslims.
00:34:00I am asking a question.
00:34:04That if the area
00:34:05is notorious,
00:34:06an area which is notorious,
00:34:08that are gangsters
00:34:09living in that area,
00:34:10a normal human being
00:34:11will be a bit afraid
00:34:12to go in that area.
00:34:13But suppose
00:34:14if you have a machine gun
00:34:15and if you know
00:34:17how to operate
00:34:18that machine gun,
00:34:19will you get scared?
00:34:20Will you ever get scared
00:34:21to go in an area
00:34:22which is controlled
00:34:23by gangsters?
00:34:23No.
00:34:24You have the stand gun
00:34:25with you,
00:34:25you have the machine gun,
00:34:26you know how to use it.
00:34:28Similarly,
00:34:28if every Muslim
00:34:29knows the reply
00:34:31to the common question
00:34:33asked by non-Muslims,
00:34:35no Muslim will ever
00:34:36be shy
00:34:37or afraid
00:34:38to identify himself
00:34:39as a Muslim.
00:34:41The reason we are afraid
00:34:42to identify ourselves
00:34:43as a Muslim
00:34:43is because we cannot
00:34:44answer the question
00:34:45which is posed
00:34:46by the non-Muslims.
00:34:48And for this,
00:34:49Alhamdulillah,
00:34:50I have prepared a booklet.
00:34:51The reply is
00:34:54to the most common question
00:34:55asked by non-Muslims.
00:34:58And there are
00:34:58about 20 common questions
00:34:59which a non-Muslim poses
00:35:00about Islam
00:35:01to a Muslim.
00:35:03And the answer
00:35:04to these questions
00:35:05have been given
00:35:06in that booklet
00:35:06which will inshallah
00:35:07be printed.
00:35:08If every Muslim
00:35:10masters
00:35:11the reply
00:35:12to these questions,
00:35:14he will never ever
00:35:15feel apologetic
00:35:16to face
00:35:17the non-Muslim.
00:35:19He'll be proud.
00:35:21Alhamdulillah,
00:35:22if I have to go out
00:35:23not wearing a cap,
00:35:25it is like
00:35:26a fish out of water.
00:35:28Without the label,
00:35:29it's like a fish
00:35:30out of water.
00:35:32Alhamdulillah,
00:35:32this cap,
00:35:33it does wonders.
00:35:34It helps me
00:35:35to do my job.
00:35:36It helps me
00:35:37to remain
00:35:37on the Sarat al-Mustaqim,
00:35:39on the Haq.
00:35:40Because I identify
00:35:41myself as Muslims
00:35:42and I agree
00:35:44that I am a person
00:35:46who follows
00:35:46the religion of Haq,
00:35:47Deen al-Haq.
00:35:48Every religion
00:35:52has a certain label.
00:35:56The Christians,
00:35:58their label
00:35:59is the cross.
00:36:01The Hindus,
00:36:03their label
00:36:03is the Aum
00:36:03or maybe
00:36:04a Vermilion,
00:36:05a Tika
00:36:05which they wear
00:36:06on the head.
00:36:08The Jews,
00:36:09they wear a small cap
00:36:10behind.
00:36:12We can either identify
00:36:12this is our Muslim cap,
00:36:14it's a Jewish cap,
00:36:15small cap.
00:36:15Every religion
00:36:17has a certain label.
00:36:20But the community
00:36:21which should be appreciated,
00:36:25which should be
00:36:25maximally appreciated
00:36:26for wearing the label
00:36:28is the Sikh community.
00:36:31The Sikhs,
00:36:32they are hardly 2%
00:36:33in the population
00:36:36of India
00:36:36which is close
00:36:37to a billion people.
00:36:39less than 2%
00:36:41are Sikhs.
00:36:43But,
00:36:44they are proud
00:36:45to identify themselves
00:36:46as Sikhs.
00:36:47Always,
00:36:48they wear the label.
00:36:49You know,
00:36:49they wear that turban
00:36:50which is a particular
00:36:51type of turban
00:36:52the way they tie it
00:36:53and they also have a beard.
00:36:55They are proud
00:36:55to identify themselves
00:36:56as Sikhs.
00:36:58And if
00:36:59any person
00:37:00wants to indicate
00:37:02that this human being
00:37:04is an Indian
00:37:05coming from India,
00:37:06he will always
00:37:07focus on a Sikh.
00:37:08For example,
00:37:09if you see
00:37:10in a cricket match
00:37:11or any match
00:37:12which is going abroad
00:37:12and if they want
00:37:13to identify
00:37:14that Indians
00:37:14are there
00:37:14in the audience,
00:37:15they will focus
00:37:16on a Sikh.
00:37:17Though he is
00:37:18less than 2%.
00:37:18He is not an Indian
00:37:20which is a sample Indian.
00:37:22Less than 2%.
00:37:23A minority
00:37:24of a minority.
00:37:25Yet,
00:37:27when the people
00:37:27want to identify
00:37:28that he is an Indian,
00:37:29they focus on a Sikh
00:37:30because he is proud
00:37:31to wear his label.
00:37:34Irrespective
00:37:34whether
00:37:35he endures himself
00:37:36in the army
00:37:37or the navy
00:37:38or the air force,
00:37:39he does not
00:37:40give up his label.
00:37:42And I was shocked
00:37:43that when I had
00:37:45been to Canada,
00:37:47I did a report
00:37:47that a Sikh
00:37:50who migrated to Canada
00:37:52and was a citizen
00:37:54of Canada,
00:37:57the Canadian government
00:37:58objected
00:37:59that he cannot
00:38:00wear the turban
00:38:00in the army.
00:38:02He fought a case
00:38:03in the court
00:38:03and he won the case
00:38:05and he won the case
00:38:05that even in Canada
00:38:06he was allowed
00:38:08to maintain
00:38:09his label.
00:38:10Imagine,
00:38:11in Canada,
00:38:12he wants to
00:38:12identify himself
00:38:13that he is a Sikh
00:38:14and he won the case.
00:38:16We know many
00:38:16of the Muslims
00:38:17who when they go
00:38:18for a job
00:38:19and if the boss
00:38:20says,
00:38:20you know the beard
00:38:21is a bit shabby,
00:38:22I'll give you a job
00:38:23if you remove the beard
00:38:24and many of us
00:38:25next day
00:38:26will shave the beard.
00:38:28It's a shame on us.
00:38:28It's a shame on us.
00:38:32The Sikhs,
00:38:32a minority of a minority
00:38:33in the world population
00:38:35it's insignificant
00:38:37yet they want
00:38:38to identify themselves
00:38:39as Sikhs.
00:38:41I'm not talking
00:38:41about all the Muslims,
00:38:42I'm talking about
00:38:43a few Muslims
00:38:43who are afraid
00:38:44to wear the label.
00:38:46It's a shame.
00:38:48And our beloved prophet,
00:38:50Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam,
00:38:51he said,
00:38:52it's mentioned
00:38:53it's a Muslim.
00:38:55Volume number two,
00:38:56in the book of Salah,
00:38:58Hadith number 1932
00:39:02as well as 1933
00:39:04and 1934
00:39:05and three Hadith
00:39:06the beloved prophet said
00:39:07that when you go
00:39:09for the Idain Salah,
00:39:10for Salah of Idul Fitr
00:39:12and Idul Adah,
00:39:14the Ramzanid
00:39:15and the Baqirid
00:39:15which as we know here,
00:39:17when you go
00:39:18for the Salah of this
00:39:19to Idain,
00:39:21take along with you
00:39:22the young woman
00:39:23as well as
00:39:25the menstruating woman
00:39:26as well as
00:39:28the Pardha observing woman,
00:39:30even though
00:39:30the menstruating woman,
00:39:32they do not offer Salah,
00:39:33they only supplicate,
00:39:34take them along.
00:39:36The prophet said,
00:39:37when you go
00:39:37for the Idain Salah,
00:39:38take along with you
00:39:39the children,
00:39:40the young woman,
00:39:40the Pardha observing woman,
00:39:42even the menstruating woman,
00:39:44even if they cannot pray.
00:39:46What was the logic
00:39:47of the beloved prophet
00:39:48to command
00:39:49the Muslim Ummah
00:39:50to go along
00:39:51with the young woman,
00:39:52Pardha observing woman,
00:39:53as well as
00:39:54the menstruating woman,
00:39:55even if they cannot
00:39:56offer Salah.
00:39:57What was the logic?
00:40:00The logic is
00:40:00that
00:40:02as we know
00:40:03for the Id Salah,
00:40:06all the people
00:40:07gather
00:40:07on one place,
00:40:09especially in the villages.
00:40:11If two, three villages
00:40:11are close by,
00:40:12they gather in a Idgah,
00:40:14a place where they offer
00:40:15Id Salah together.
00:40:17In the city in Bombay,
00:40:18it's a bit different,
00:40:19you know,
00:40:19because it's a city,
00:40:20it's a vast city,
00:40:21it's difficult,
00:40:21we can't go outside Bombay,
00:40:22it's too far,
00:40:24so we have the Id Salah
00:40:25in various mosques,
00:40:26but yet we try and see to it
00:40:27that the congregation
00:40:28is big.
00:40:30But normally,
00:40:31in the other places,
00:40:31villages, etc.,
00:40:33you gather together
00:40:33in the open ground
00:40:34in Idgah.
00:40:36For example,
00:40:37if there are three small villages,
00:40:40if they have a common Idgah,
00:40:41so the Muslim,
00:40:42when he comes for the Id Salah,
00:40:45he sees
00:40:4530,000 Muslims
00:40:48in these three small villages,
00:40:5030,000 Muslims,
00:40:51the morale of the Muslims
00:40:53is boosted.
00:40:55He feels proud.
00:40:5630,000 Muslims
00:40:57all gathered together,
00:40:58you know,
00:40:59you can make out
00:41:00that the Muslims,
00:41:01the morale is boosted.
00:41:03And if a non-Muslim,
00:41:05when he sees
00:41:0630,000 Muslims
00:41:08in these three small villages,
00:41:10he will think 10 times
00:41:13before creating mischief
00:41:14for the Muslims.
00:41:15If he has to create
00:41:16any trouble for the Muslims,
00:41:18he will think 100 times.
00:41:19And simultaneously,
00:41:22the morale of the Muslim
00:41:23is boosted.
00:41:24That's why the beloved Prophet said,
00:41:25when you go for Id Salah,
00:41:27gather in congregation
00:41:29along with the children,
00:41:30young women,
00:41:31parada observing women,
00:41:32as well as the menstruating women,
00:41:34even if they cannot offer Salah.
00:41:35For example,
00:41:40if you are travelling in a bus,
00:41:43travelling in a BST bus,
00:41:45and suppose,
00:41:47there is a Muslim sister
00:41:48of ours
00:41:49who is travelling in a bus.
00:41:50and if in that bus,
00:41:55along with the Muslim sister,
00:41:58sitting somewhere else,
00:41:59there are about
00:41:59five to ten Muslims
00:42:00sitting in the bus
00:42:02wearing the label,
00:42:04wearing a cap
00:42:05and sporting a beard.
00:42:06These ten people
00:42:07don't know each other.
00:42:08Neither do they know
00:42:09that Muslim girl.
00:42:11But if
00:42:11a non-Muslim
00:42:13wants to create mischief
00:42:15with the Muslim girl,
00:42:17if he wants to create trouble
00:42:18for the Muslim girl,
00:42:20for the Muslim,
00:42:21the non-Muslim
00:42:23will think ten times.
00:42:24Oh, there are ten people
00:42:25in the bus.
00:42:27You know,
00:42:27a Muslim wearing a cap
00:42:28and sporting a beard.
00:42:29He will think ten times
00:42:30before creating mischief.
00:42:32Even if those ten people
00:42:33are old people,
00:42:35they can't even raise a finger.
00:42:36Even if they can't hurt anyone yet,
00:42:39only seeing them,
00:42:41he will think ten times.
00:42:43Oh, ten people
00:42:44who are Muslims.
00:42:46If I create mischief,
00:42:47these ten people
00:42:48pounce on me.
00:42:50It does wonders.
00:42:52Wearing the label
00:42:52does wonders.
00:42:54It does not only benefit you,
00:42:55it even benefits
00:42:56your other Muslim
00:42:57brothers and sisters.
00:43:00Once,
00:43:02there was an elderly gentleman
00:43:03who was a good Muslim,
00:43:05Alhamdulillah,
00:43:06prayed five times a day,
00:43:07had gone for Hajj,
00:43:07he was a Haji.
00:43:11He always fasted
00:43:12in the month of Ramadan.
00:43:13He gave the zakat.
00:43:14He was a pious Muslim.
00:43:15But he did not have any label.
00:43:18Didn't wear the cap,
00:43:19did not sport a beard.
00:43:21One day when he goes
00:43:22on the streets
00:43:23to buy some fruits
00:43:24from the hawker,
00:43:26and he asks
00:43:28the name of the hawker,
00:43:30that young boy,
00:43:32that,
00:43:32Beta,
00:43:33son,
00:43:33what's your name?
00:43:35He says,
00:43:36Uncle,
00:43:37my name is Ahmad.
00:43:40So the elderly Muslim,
00:43:42he says,
00:43:43Beta,
00:43:43son,
00:43:44why didn't you wish me
00:43:45salaam?
00:43:46So the young Ahmad says,
00:43:49Uncle,
00:43:49I thought you were a Hindu.
00:43:52Imagine,
00:43:53the young boy,
00:43:54he calls the elderly,
00:43:56pious gentleman,
00:43:57a mushrik.
00:43:59The biggest abuse
00:44:00you can give
00:44:01to any Muslim
00:44:02is to call him a mushrik.
00:44:04There is no bigger abuse
00:44:05for a Muslim
00:44:07than to call him a mushrik.
00:44:09And the glory of Quran
00:44:10says in Surah Nisa,
00:44:11chapter 4,
00:44:11verse 48,
00:44:12as well as in Surah Nisa,
00:44:13chapter 4,
00:44:14verse 116,
00:44:14that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
00:44:16never forgiveth
00:44:18the sin
00:44:18of associating partners
00:44:20with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
00:44:22Any other sin,
00:44:23if Allah pleases,
00:44:24He may forgive.
00:44:25But associating partners
00:44:26with Allah,
00:44:27shirk,
00:44:28He will never forgive.
00:44:29For,
00:44:30committing shirk
00:44:31is the most heinous sin.
00:44:34I am asking a question.
00:44:36Who is to blame?
00:44:38Who is to blame
00:44:39because he called
00:44:41that elderly gentleman
00:44:42a mushrik
00:44:42and the glorious Quran
00:44:45stays in Surah Nisa,
00:44:45in the chapter number 5,
00:44:46verse number 72.
00:44:48لَقَدْ قَفْرَ
00:44:49لَذِينَ قَالُوا
00:44:50إِنَّ اللَّهَ
00:44:50وَالْمَسِيُّ بْنُ مَرِمَا
00:44:52that they say,
00:44:54the Christians,
00:44:56that
00:44:56Jesus Christ,
00:44:58peace be upon him,
00:44:59is Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
00:45:02Jesus Christ,
00:45:02peace be upon him,
00:45:03the son of Mary,
00:45:04is Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
00:45:05The verse continues,
00:45:06وَقَالَ الْمَسِيحِ
00:45:07what's that Christ?
00:45:09يَعْبَنِ إِسْرَيْلِ
00:45:10أَوْشِيْنَ
00:45:10اَعْبُدُ اللَّهُ
00:45:12وَوَشِيْبَ اللَّهُ
00:45:13رَبِّ وَرَبَّكُمْ
00:45:14who's my Lord
00:45:15and your Lord.
00:45:16إِنَّهُ مَا شْرِكْ بِاللَّهُ
00:45:17And anyone who associates
00:45:19partners with Allah,
00:45:20فَقَدْ هَرَمَ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةِ
00:45:22Allah will make
00:45:23جَنَّة حَرَام for him.
00:45:24وَمَا وَهُنَّارِ
00:45:25وَمَا لِسَوْلِ بِالْمِنَسَارِ
00:45:26and fire shall be his dwelling place
00:45:28and he shall have
00:45:29no helpers in the hereafter.
00:45:32The glorious Quran says
00:45:33that
00:45:33إِنَّهُ مَا شْرِكْ بِاللَّهُ
00:45:34Anyone who associates
00:45:36partners with Allah,
00:45:37فَقَدْ هَرَمَ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةِ
00:45:39Allah will make
00:45:40جَنَّة حَرَام for him.
00:45:42Anyone who does shirk,
00:45:43he will go to hell.
00:45:45If he dies as a mushrik,
00:45:46he'll go to hell.
00:45:47I'm asking a question,
00:45:48who is to blame
00:45:49if a young Muslim boy
00:45:53calls the elderly gentleman
00:45:55and a mushrik
00:45:56who's to blame?
00:45:59You can't blame that young boy.
00:46:01He's innocent.
00:46:03It is the elderly gentleman
00:46:04who's to blame.
00:46:06But why doesn't
00:46:07he wear the label?
00:46:10If the label shows your intent,
00:46:12you should wear it.
00:46:16What is the label
00:46:17for the Muslimah,
00:46:19for the Muslim woman?
00:46:21Even they have a label.
00:46:22The Glorious Quran says
00:46:25in Surah Nur,
00:46:27chapter number 24,
00:46:28verse number 31,
00:46:30that,
00:46:31Say to the believing woman
00:46:31that they should lower their gaze
00:46:33and guard their modesty.
00:46:35And display not the beauty
00:46:37except what appears ordinarily of.
00:46:40And draw their veil
00:46:41over the bosom.
00:46:42And display not the beauty
00:46:43except to their husbands,
00:46:45their fathers,
00:46:46their sons,
00:46:47and a big list of
00:46:49Mehram,
00:46:49the close relatives
00:46:50who she can't marry
00:46:51is given.
00:46:53And the criteria
00:46:54for hijab
00:46:55is mentioned
00:46:56in the Quran
00:46:57and the Sayyid.
00:46:58There are basically
00:46:58six criteria.
00:47:00The first is the extent
00:47:01which differs
00:47:02between the man
00:47:03and the woman.
00:47:04For the man
00:47:05is from the navel
00:47:05to the knee.
00:47:07For the woman,
00:47:08the complete body
00:47:08should be covered
00:47:09except the face
00:47:11and the hands
00:47:12up to the wrist.
00:47:13Some scholars say
00:47:14even the feet
00:47:15below the ankle
00:47:15can be seen.
00:47:17There are some scholars
00:47:17who say
00:47:18that even the face
00:47:19and the hands
00:47:20should be covered.
00:47:22This is extinct.
00:47:24The remaining five criterias
00:47:25is the same
00:47:26for the man
00:47:27and the woman.
00:47:28The second is
00:47:29that the clothes
00:47:30they wear
00:47:30it should not be
00:47:32so tight
00:47:33that it reveals
00:47:34the figure.
00:47:36We have
00:47:36many of our
00:47:37Muslim brothers
00:47:38who wear jeans.
00:47:40They are also
00:47:41stretched jeans.
00:47:43Skin tight
00:47:43stretched jeans.
00:47:46Wearing skin tight
00:47:47stretched jeans
00:47:48aura of the man
00:47:49is from the navel
00:47:50to the knee.
00:47:51He cannot wear
00:47:52any clothes
00:47:52which reveals
00:47:53the figure of that part.
00:47:54You know skin tight
00:47:55where you can see
00:47:55the curves.
00:47:56It's not allowed.
00:47:58The third
00:47:59the clothes
00:48:00they wear
00:48:00it should not
00:48:02be transparent
00:48:03so that you can
00:48:03see through.
00:48:04The Muslim woman
00:48:05may be covering
00:48:05the body
00:48:06they may be
00:48:06wearing loose clothes
00:48:07but it may be
00:48:08transparent
00:48:09you know made of
00:48:09georgia or something
00:48:10like that.
00:48:11That's not allowed.
00:48:12Fourth is
00:48:13it should not
00:48:14be so glamorous
00:48:14that it
00:48:16attracts the
00:48:16opposite sex.
00:48:17Fifth is
00:48:18it should not
00:48:19resemble that
00:48:19of the
00:48:20unbeliever.
00:48:21Any label
00:48:22which is a
00:48:23specific sign
00:48:23of an unbeliever
00:48:25a Muslim
00:48:26cannot wear.
00:48:27For example
00:48:27a Muslim
00:48:29cannot wear a
00:48:29cross.
00:48:30It's a
00:48:30specific sign
00:48:31of Christianity.
00:48:33He cannot
00:48:34wear Om
00:48:34which is a
00:48:35sign of Hinduism.
00:48:36He cannot
00:48:36wear a
00:48:37Varmulon
00:48:37or a
00:48:37Tikka
00:48:38which is a
00:48:39sign of Hindu.
00:48:39He cannot
00:48:42wear any
00:48:43specific
00:48:43signs
00:48:44which is
00:48:44a sign
00:48:45of an
00:48:45unbeliever.
00:48:47And the
00:48:47sixth criteria
00:48:47is
00:48:48you cannot
00:48:49wear clothes
00:48:50that which
00:48:51resemble
00:48:51the opposite
00:48:52sex.
00:48:55If you
00:48:55go to the
00:48:56western
00:48:56countries
00:48:56you have
00:48:57many boys
00:48:58and gents
00:48:59they wear
00:49:00a yearring
00:49:01only one
00:49:02yearring.
00:49:03It has
00:49:03certain
00:49:04significance.
00:49:04If you
00:49:05wear one
00:49:05yearring
00:49:05it has
00:49:06certain
00:49:06significance.
00:49:07and the
00:49:09Indians
00:49:09whatever
00:49:09America
00:49:10does
00:49:10after a
00:49:11few
00:49:11years
00:49:11when
00:49:11we
00:49:11follow
00:49:12and
00:49:13you
00:49:13find
00:49:13even
00:49:13in
00:49:13Bombay
00:49:14nowadays
00:49:14men
00:49:15wearing
00:49:15one
00:49:16yearring.
00:49:18According to
00:49:18Islamic
00:49:19Sharia
00:49:19you cannot
00:49:20wear clothes
00:49:20that which
00:49:21resembles
00:49:21that of
00:49:22the
00:49:23opposite
00:49:23sex.
00:49:24And the
00:49:25reason for
00:49:25hijab for
00:49:26the woman
00:49:26is given
00:49:26in Surah
00:49:27Ahazab
00:49:27chapter 33
00:49:28verse 59
00:49:29where it
00:49:30says that
00:49:30O
00:49:31prophet
00:49:31tell your
00:49:32wives and
00:49:33the believing
00:49:34women that
00:49:35when they
00:49:35go abroad
00:49:36they should
00:49:36put on
00:49:37the cloak
00:49:37so that
00:49:38they shall
00:49:39be recognized
00:49:39and it
00:49:40will prevent
00:49:41them from
00:49:42being molested.
00:49:43The Quran
00:49:44says that
00:49:44hijab has
00:49:45been prescribed
00:49:46for the
00:49:46woman so
00:49:47that they
00:49:48shall be
00:49:48recognized
00:49:48and it
00:49:49will prevent
00:49:50them from
00:49:51being molested.
00:49:53For
00:49:53example
00:49:54if
00:49:55two sisters
00:49:57who are
00:49:58twins

00:50:02are very
00:50:03beautiful
00:50:03they are

00:50:10the complete
00:50:11body covered
00:50:12except the

00:50:16she is
00:50:17wearing

00:50:17clothes
00:50:18the skirt
00:50:18or the
00:50:20mini
00:50:20and if
00:50:21they are
00:50:21walking
00:50:21down the
00:50:22streets
00:50:22and if
00:50:23round the
00:50:23corner
00:50:23there is
00:50:24a hooligan
00:50:24there is
00:50:25a ruffian
00:50:26who is
00:50:26waiting for
00:50:27a catch
00:50:27who is
00:50:28waiting
00:50:28to tease
00:50:29a girl
00:50:29I am
00:50:30asking a
00:50:30question
00:50:31which
00:50:31girl
00:50:31will he
00:50:32tease
00:50:32will he
00:50:33tease
00:50:33the girl
00:50:34wearing
00:50:34the Islamic
00:50:34hijab
00:50:35or will
00:50:35he tease
00:50:36the girl
00:50:36wearing
00:50:37the skirt
00:50:37or the
00:50:37mini
00:50:37which
00:50:38girl
00:50:38will he
00:50:38tease
00:50:39but
00:50:40naturally
00:50:41he will
00:50:41tease
00:50:41the girl
00:50:42wearing
00:50:42the skirt
00:50:42or the
00:50:42mini
00:50:43the Quran
00:50:43rightly
00:50:44says
00:50:44that
00:50:44hijab
00:50:45has been
00:50:45prescribed
00:50:46for the
00:50:46woman
00:50:46so that
00:50:47it shall
00:50:48prevent
00:50:48them from
00:50:49being
00:50:49molested
00:50:49there are
00:50:52some of
00:50:52our
00:50:52Muslim
00:50:52sisters
00:50:53who may
00:50:54give the
00:50:54excuse
00:50:54that
00:50:56when we
00:50:57wear the
00:50:58hijab
00:50:58when we
00:50:59wear the
00:50:59scarf
00:51:00or when
00:51:00we
00:51:00wear the
00:51:02coat
00:51:02or the
00:51:03hijab
00:51:03the people
00:51:04they stare
00:51:05at us
00:51:05therefore
00:51:08it is
00:51:09unnecessarily
00:51:11attracting
00:51:11attention
00:51:11I tell
00:51:13them
00:51:13I do agree
00:51:14with you
00:51:14there may
00:51:15be cases
00:51:15in which
00:51:16because you
00:51:17are unique
00:51:17no one
00:51:18around you
00:51:19is wearing
00:51:19the hijab
00:51:19and if
00:51:20you wear
00:51:20the hijab
00:51:20people may
00:51:21look at
00:51:21you
00:51:22because
00:51:22you are
00:51:23odd
00:51:23the odd
00:51:24man out
00:51:24or rather
00:51:25the odd
00:51:26woman out
00:51:26it may
00:51:28it may
00:51:28happen
00:51:29but I
00:51:29tell them
00:51:30that when
00:51:31the people
00:51:31look at
00:51:31you when
00:51:32you wear
00:51:32the hijab
00:51:32they don't
00:51:33look at
00:51:34you with
00:51:34lust
00:51:34they look
00:51:35at you
00:51:35with respect
00:51:36there's a
00:51:37difference
00:51:37to the
00:51:38other lady
00:51:39who's wearing
00:51:39the skirt
00:51:39of the
00:51:40mini
00:51:40the men
00:51:41look at
00:51:41with lust
00:51:42to you
00:51:43if they
00:51:44look at
00:51:44you
00:51:44they look
00:51:46at you
00:51:46with respect
00:51:47they may
00:51:48look at
00:51:48you because
00:51:49you may
00:51:50look unique
00:51:51but when
00:51:52they look
00:51:52at you
00:51:52they look
00:51:52at you
00:51:53with respect
00:51:53and you
00:51:54can ask
00:51:54this question
00:51:55to the
00:51:55ladies
00:51:55who do
00:51:56hijab
00:51:56and even
00:51:57my sister
00:51:57alhamdulillah
00:51:58she confirms
00:51:59that because
00:52:00we wear
00:52:00the hijab
00:52:01alhamdulillah
00:52:02the people
00:52:03around us
00:52:03respect us
00:52:04when we
00:52:05go in
00:52:05the bus
00:52:05they offer
00:52:06us a seat
00:52:06alhamdulillah
00:52:07it elevates
00:52:09the position
00:52:09of the woman
00:52:10and many
00:52:13women think
00:52:14that if you
00:52:15have to wear
00:52:15a hijab
00:52:16you have to
00:52:17wear a black
00:52:17burqa
00:52:18it is
00:52:18compulsory
00:52:18nowhere
00:52:21does the
00:52:22islamic
00:52:22sharia
00:52:23say
00:52:23that you
00:52:24should wear
00:52:24only a
00:52:25black
00:52:25burqa
00:52:25as long
00:52:28as it
00:52:28doesn't
00:52:28attract
00:52:28the opposite
00:52:29sex
00:52:30you can
00:52:31wear any
00:52:31color

00:52:35you can
00:52:35wear ivory
00:52:36you can
00:52:36wear any
00:52:37color
00:52:37maybe people
00:52:38prefer black
00:52:39you know
00:52:39because if
00:52:40you wear a
00:52:40black burqa
00:52:41you may have
00:52:42to wash it
00:52:42once in a
00:52:43week or
00:52:43once in a
00:52:44fortnight
00:52:44if you wear
00:52:45a white
00:52:45burqa
00:52:46you may have
00:52:46to wash it
00:52:46every day
00:52:47or maybe
00:52:47every alternate
00:52:48day
00:52:48so the
00:52:49choice is
00:52:50yours
00:52:50you can
00:52:51either wear
00:52:51a black
00:52:51burqa
00:52:51and wash
00:52:52it once
00:52:52a week
00:52:52or wear
00:52:53a white
00:52:53burqa
00:52:54or light
00:52:54color
00:52:54burqa
00:52:55and wash
00:52:55it every
00:52:56couple
00:52:56of days
00:52:56the option
00:52:57is yours
00:52:58nowhere does
00:52:59the islamic
00:52:59sharia say
00:53:00that you
00:53:00should wear
00:53:00black

00:53:03as long
00:53:04as you

00:56:08there's no two
00:56:09doubts
00:56:09that you're a muslim
00:56:10but certain muslims
00:56:11have a advantage
00:56:12if they have

00:56:36no one says
00:56:37that i'm
00:56:38particularly pinpointing

00:56:52so
00:56:55using such things
00:56:56intentionally
00:56:57trying to manipulate

00:57:20by deceiving them
00:57:21islam doesn't

01:03:44the dua
01:03:44when you start
01:03:45the journey
01:03:46which a prophet
01:03:47recommended
01:03:48that praise be to
01:03:49Allah
01:03:49and seek
01:03:50Allah's guidance
01:03:51that he may have
01:03:51control over the vehicle
01:03:52etc
01:03:52and if the passenger
01:03:54sitting next to you
01:03:55if he doesn't know
01:03:56the dua
01:03:56he memorizes it
01:03:57Alhamdulillah
01:03:58it does wonders
01:03:59there are various
01:04:00labels available
01:04:00and when I came
01:04:04the first time
01:04:05to Millat Nagar
01:04:05it was after the riots
01:04:07about
01:04:08in the year
01:04:091993
01:04:10about more than
01:04:11five years back
01:04:12the first time
01:04:13when I came to Millat Nagar
01:04:13and when I entered
01:04:15and when I read
01:04:16the name on the buildings
01:04:18Al-Makkah
01:04:19Al-Madina
01:04:20Muzdalifah
01:04:22Arafat
01:04:23Meena
01:04:23believe me
01:04:24it touched my heart
01:04:25Alhamdulillah
01:04:27I was so impressed
01:04:29that the full colony
01:04:31I had known that
01:04:32it's one of the biggest
01:04:32colonies of Muslims
01:04:33but when I entered
01:04:34Makkah
01:04:36Madina
01:04:36Muzdalifah
01:04:38Meena
01:04:38Alhamdulillah
01:04:39it impressed me a lot
01:04:41every building
01:04:43the moment you read
01:04:44the name
01:04:44anyone can realize
01:04:46that this is a Muslim building
01:04:47and when the people
01:04:50stay in Millat Nagar
01:04:51when they go out
01:04:52and say that
01:04:53if a person asks
01:04:54where do you stay
01:04:54and if you say
01:04:55I stay in Millat Nagar
01:04:57it's taken for granted
01:04:58you are a Muslim
01:04:59even where you are staying
01:05:01identifies
01:05:02what religion you belong to
01:05:04Alhamdulillah
01:05:04but unfortunately
01:05:07when I came next time
01:05:09I realized
01:05:10that the buildings
01:05:11had the labels
01:05:13but everyone
01:05:15living in the building
01:05:16didn't have the labels
01:05:17so when they go out
01:05:19and when they look at them
01:05:22people may not realize
01:05:24whether the Muslim are not
01:05:25I am not saying
01:05:26all the people of Millat Nagar
01:05:27many I have seen
01:05:29Alhamdulillah
01:05:29who are the label
01:05:30so inshallah
01:05:31when I come next time
01:05:32to Millat Nagar
01:05:33inshallah
01:05:34I would be happy
01:05:36that besides
01:05:37the buildings
01:05:39having the Islamic name
01:05:40even the label
01:05:41is there
01:05:41on each and every individual
01:05:44inshallah
01:05:46I hope
01:05:47that will be the case
01:05:48that next time
01:05:49when I come to Millat Nagar
01:05:50all of them
01:05:52inshallah
01:05:52besides having the label
01:05:54on the building
01:05:55in the place
01:05:56where they are staying
01:05:56they should even have
01:05:57the label on themselves
01:05:58that when they travel out
01:06:00people recognize
01:06:01that he is a Muslim
01:06:02she is a Muslim
01:06:03she is a Muslim woman
01:06:05a Muslim
01:06:09should never ever be afraid
01:06:11to identify himself
01:06:12as a Muslim
01:06:12the only reason
01:06:14that a Muslim
01:06:16may not like
01:06:17to identify himself
01:06:18as a Muslim
01:06:18is
01:06:19if
01:06:20he doesn't agree
01:06:21that Islam
01:06:22is the best way of life
01:06:23he may be a namesake Muslim
01:06:26may be born
01:06:27in a Muslim family
01:06:28given a Muslim name
01:06:29otherwise
01:06:30a Muslim
01:06:31will never feel afraid
01:06:33to wear his label
01:06:34he may feel afraid
01:06:35if he doesn't know
01:06:36the answers
01:06:37because if you wear the label
01:06:39you are proclaiming
01:06:40that I am a person
01:06:42following the religion
01:06:43of haq
01:06:44the religion of truth
01:06:45and
01:06:47whenever there is
01:06:48a competition
01:06:49between truth
01:06:50and falsehood
01:06:51truth always prevails
01:06:53truth always wins
01:06:54people sometimes are afraid
01:06:56that if people
01:06:57come to know a Muslim
01:06:57I may lose my customers
01:06:58I have non-Muslim customers
01:07:00I may lose them
01:07:00he is afraid
01:07:02but if he knows
01:07:04Islam
01:07:04if he identify himself
01:07:06as a Muslim
01:07:07that he is a person
01:07:08following truth
01:07:09he will inshallah
01:07:10benefit even in his business
01:07:12because
01:07:12the Quran clearly states
01:07:14and I would like to end my talk
01:07:16with the quotation of the Quran
01:07:17from Surah Isra
01:07:18chapter number 17
01:07:19verse number 81
01:07:20which says
01:07:20when truth is heard
01:07:26against falsehood
01:07:27falsehood perishes
01:07:28for falsehood
01:07:29is by its nature
01:07:30bound to perish
01:07:31welcome back friends
01:07:39I hope you enjoy the video
01:07:41till the last minute
