John Mousinho speaks after Pompey's 1-1 draw against Leicester City
Transcript
00:00We've only got five weeks left on air. John, how good a point is that?
00:04I don't know. It feels like we could have had all three. Obviously, Leicester had the chance at the
00:08end, but apart from that, I thought we had far the better chances in the second half.
00:12The foes had the one that's been well saved. A couple of goal-mile scrambles. It's a really
00:16good opportunity. I thought we were by far the better side in the second half.
00:19So, you come to the king power and take your point. You've got to be happy with it.
00:25I'm really pleased with the performance. I think the next step is in those moments where we're
00:29really on top of the game. When you've had to use your bench, you have some tired legs
00:34out there. How do you have to think through those changes?
00:37Yeah, I thought it was one of those where Chap has done such a big shift on that right-hand
00:43side in the first half. We wanted to get Mark on there. We thought he'd give us that defensive
00:48protection as well as an outlet as well. I thought he did exactly that. I think that
00:53was the first change. The second change, Flo coming on, Flo's been brilliant all week
00:57in training. We fancied him to get something. He nearly scored his goal. Minchuk's had a
01:02couple of games this week. He's played in two games. He's had the long travel from over in
01:08Dubai. Sorry, Saudi Arabia. It's one of those where he's playing well. We had to bring him
01:15off. Just to freshen it up at the end, it's nice to be able to bring that strength off
01:18the bench. The lads did well to close the game out. Willow was tiring a bit. It's nice
01:24to have a couple of right-backs in the bench to change it. Kind of highlight there's no
01:27one or no venue you should fear in the Championship.
01:29Yeah, I suppose that's my point to the boys. We've gone away to West Brom, Southampton,
01:32Leicester. We've taken draws. I thought it was a good point at West Brom, hanging on.
01:39Southampton could have been different. We could have won the game today. We definitely could
01:42have won the game. Ipswich was one of those ones where we were not being a bit more aggressive
01:47earlier on. So I hope we wake up and realise that there are points there. I think these
01:54are a very, very good side. They're a very good side. We've come here, particularly times
01:58in the second half, made them look quite ordinary.
02:00Just last one. Harvey Blair not on the bench. Mackenzie Kirk on. Is that injury or just
02:04selection, that one?
02:04That is Harvey felt his hamstring in training on Saturday. We tried to get him out to sprint
02:12on Friday. We decided not to do it. He didn't feel quite right. So he should be available
02:15for selection for hopefully one of these two games this week because it's nothing serious.
02:19And a clean blue half today?
02:21I think so, yeah. I think a few bits of cramp. I think Colby's just cramped at the end.
02:24Just asking him to get to be a huge amount in terms of the press and in terms of leading
02:28the line. A really good sign, Colby, coming back to form when the two centre-halves have
02:33to swap over to try and deal with him. Whether he gets the chances, we didn't really create
02:37a huge amount for him, but the fact that he's led the line so well there tells you everything
02:40you need to know. I think everything else, as far as we know, is okay.
02:45Seg's just taking a bit of a right to the face, but he battled on.
02:49Thanks, John. Well done.
02:49Cheers, Andy.
