00:00Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today said he would announce outgoing investment trade and

00:05industry minister Tunku Zafrul Aziz's new role on Wednesday.

00:09He added that Tunku Zafrul still had responsibilities to fulfill with his last day on December

00:142nd and his new role to be revealed on December 3rd.

00:18On a possible cabinet reshuffle, Anwar said several vacancies needed filling but added

00:23that he does not think a major reshuffle is necessary and is still considering the steps

00:28he needs to take.

00:30Meanwhile, government spokesman Fahmi Fazil said on Friday that Tunku Zafrul would continue

00:35to play a role in government after his two-term senatorship ends.

00:39Last month, Tunku Zafrul offered to assist his successor in forming Anwar of his availability

00:45and awaiting a decision on the ministry's future leadership.

00:49Tunku Zafrul's senatorship began in December 2020 and was renewed last year.

00:54This means that he cannot remain in the cabinet unless he is elected as an MP in a future

00:59election.
