Miami Heat Will Be Really Bad If Bam Adebayo Doesn't Play To His Potential

As we approach the start of Basketball season, will the Miami Heat be good this year? Is this considered a legacy season for Bam Adebayo?

00:05that's the scary part we have a little scared i'm a little scared because they can't dude i'm a

00:10little scared dude because no matter how deep you go into the roster they all end games the same way

00:15well i'm i am definitely nervous because that last year was a year from hell because they had

00:23more blown fourth quarters than anybody in the nba they were the worst fourth quarter team they

00:28blew double digit leads they were the worst clutch team in the league um and you don't want to see

00:31anything like close to that and guess what in the game and they're also very banged up right now i

00:38haven't seen anybody this preseason which has been annoying uh yesterday a toe nail fell off and i

00:44couldn't even watch a scrimmage which i was like are you are you kidding me don't i'm not joking

00:49about the injury i'm just like i'm just saying like can you like of all the other injuries it's

00:53like what hasn't happened yet what hasn't happened toenail falling off i'm like are you are you

00:59bleeping and guess what painful that hurts more than the other ones i'm sure but i because it's

01:04like a burning hurt so and you rub you rub the top of your toe on everything so yeah like part of

01:13me is nervous about the season but then there's part of stuff i'm really excited about because i do

01:17think that we got some i think i think that yo which is gonna have a really good year i think

01:21where's gonna have a really good year um i'm very curious about bam season i think this is like a

01:26legacy season for bam in a lot of ways i would say not as much this season but i would say when we put

01:37the next three seasons together before these young guys come up for their second contract

01:45if everything has been built and confirmed and they play a certain way like all the people before

01:54bam have kind of taught him right um that bass basketball here's played a certain way um that's when

02:04you'll know what his legacy is is he a carrier of the uh no his his his professionalism is known like

02:13there's never that's never a question i'm talking about a win i'm talking about yeah can he be an

02:17impact player to raise this team up that's and without tyler and i think that's an important

02:23thing because i think with jimmy leaving right and everybody here knows you guys know we love bam

02:27bims that that's that's that's that's a guy we've been in his corner for a long time but i do think that

02:32yeah you're the max guy like tyler's not tyler we're what four days away he's not getting the max

02:37at least now and he's hurt um but he's not out okay if you're an all-star you got norm powell

02:44next to you as a near all-star can you guys keep this afloat even until he gets back and can you

02:49bring this thing i think it's a huge deal for him we cannot afford a bam out of bio offensive slump

02:54to start the season not at all and so you think i do and leroy do so much this guy that it sets him

03:01back i don't know but he's gonna be there's there there could be a season where he ends up he's

03:05number two and scoring by the end of this season like that's where he is in numbers but like

03:10everybody has acted like hey jimmy left and you guys lost everything and everybody's kind of

03:14forgotten all the big things that you had in part of those finals runs and after a year that they

03:18had last year i kind of get it like i understand people are doubting he's not on any of these

03:23defensive lists he's not on any of these you know he's kind of on the fringe which i'm not saying

03:28that's even unfair when you have 37 wins that's what's going to happen and that's why i'm very curious

03:33to see if if you get this guy if this guy can live up to what he's shown then okay then i think

03:40the heat are going to be okay but if he's going to do this whole i'm going to sit back and make

03:44everybody comfortable thing and i'm just here to anchor the defense dude they can't afford that

03:48right now i can't afford a 17 point a game bam out of bio i can tell you exactly how you feel

03:55you have a guy that is going to be number two on the all-time list

04:02and you can't think of any moments or seasons that he was

04:10as impactful as the number two scorer in franchise history yeah you see what i'm saying look so it's

04:18not it's not a matter of it's not good i think here's what i would say it's not that i don't think

04:23that he's an impactful player i think that the reason that bam gets the max contract is bam very

04:28clearly has shown on a team that can get to the finals that he could be one of the top three

04:33players there's no doubt about that he's never going to be played off in the playoffs he can guard

04:37the best player on the other team and he's going to provide but with jimmy gone now this is your

04:43chance to really be the face of the franchise and everybody's kind of looking at tyler and they're

04:46saying well they don't have tyler they're sunk and like respectfully tyler wasn't there for a lot

04:50of those winning drives you know he was there for the bubble um but for the other years you know

04:56he was either played off the floor or they've been knocked in the first round or he was injured

05:00and i think for bam this has to be the time where it's like hey if you're an all-star and you're pissed

05:07off about all this stuff and everyone's overlooking you well like what are you going to do about that

05:12because this is there's no reason for it but jimmy's gone we need somebody's ass to get to the

05:17free throw line a lot we need you to be more efficient you're you're you know i understand

05:22you're an undersized big man but you can't have the efficiencies that you had last year

05:25and i mean the first look he got a lot of that stuff if you go and look at the last two months

05:30of the season a lot of that stuff did get back on track but it took too long and that's that's the

05:35fascinating thing for me so for a guy who everybody has said we're giving the keys to it's like are you

05:41going to be a franchise icon or is it going to be like hey yeah he was a great heat player there's

05:47no doubt about that but is he in the class of zoe is he in the class of d wade is he is he in that

05:52is he going to be in that pinnacle that's the point i was trying to make is that his numbers put him in

05:58a place that we don't consider him yet because right now he's just he was an awesome wingman and

06:05he had big moments like he's had big moments against the celtics he's had big moments against the

06:08bucks there's no doubt about that but i'm saying okay but now it's your franchise now you're the

06:13guy jimmy's gone the jimmy training wheels are over that's it so i that's that's what i'm curious to

06:19see with him and now there's not even the case of hey no tyler here for at least a month like can you

06:25keep everybody afloat can you gather all these guys together and by just gathering i don't mean

06:29babysit the offense and fill in cracks like can you go take over a game uh even if and when third

06:35quarter comes can you be one of the guys that say time to turn this right that's what i'm curious

06:40but that's that's what i mean it's like he has numbers but in those numbers it's hard to find

06:46moments where you know you would say that guy's the second highest scorer in heat history remember

06:53that time when he did this remember when he did this you mentioned two moments and i think with all

06:58those guys around him there's a bunch of moments and so but i i get it i get it i like i want man

07:06we need bam to to like but here's the thing there's a fine line between doing that

07:13and pushing to do that i want it to just happen yeah i get you because if you try too hard to do it

07:20then you have one for 15 but that's why i think this team you know with tyler out like i'm kind of

07:26curious because i feel like all right there's really not something that should force it like

07:29bam can handle the ball bam is a playmaker bam can shoot there's not going to be anything that

07:34takes that away from him uh but i can't afford i can't afford lid on the lid on the rim for all

07:42those little floaters maybe put your head down get these guys to try and guard you get to the free

07:47throw line i think that people were kind of excited the last play preseason game even though it sucked

07:51because he went to the line like he's been getting to the line he's been getting to the line a lot and

07:56i'm not even saying like this is not a case of like he you know he's not like i'm i am just curious to

08:02see where this is with him because if he can be better than he was last year i think he's going to

08:08be okay i think they can have a good season if we're going to get what we got from him last year

08:12then yeah i am scared then they need then you need outrageous stuff like nico to be incredible and

08:19kalal to be incredible because they're going to go through their ups and downs they're 21 and 22

08:22he's 29 but then you hope guys like wiggins and powell davion i think those guys are going to be

08:29fine but you know bam is the guy like there's a responsibility that he bears with this team um

08:36i mean you put together a hell of a defensive team yeah

08:40scoring seems like we're in the same boat we were last year hey i i can't i can't deny that and then

08:49we're gonna go and here's what's gonna happen here's what's gonna happen and i'm gonna lose it

08:55you know we scored 108 points our defense has to be better we got to keep them under that we scored

09:04enough to win i think eric reed told me last uh i was talking to him before the one of the preseason

09:08games and he told me that i think this is a stat i'm crediting you uh eric i think he said that the

09:13average margin for victor the average point production in a win last year in the nba was 120

09:18right in a win so for the across the league and right that's almost like that's almost like another

09:25planet for the heat you know right and and and what was the heat i gotta go let's see what their

09:30average i'm not sure but i was like oh you know can they get there it look it's it's didn't they break

09:35a record last year four didn't was that last year the year before they had the most points scored

09:41given up no scored i think it was the year before i think when they beat uh when they beat portland by

09:4860 yeah when they had 100 and what 150 something or whatever yeah those were fun days that was like

09:57that 70 70 point i did enjoy that stupid joke that was like the 77 that was good point uh outburst by

10:04the dolphins the heat last year oh all the games this year and still not get the heat last year

10:11averaged 110 points yeah the teams below them

10:14the pelicans the sixers the wizards the magic who are known as like a really bad offensive team

10:23the nets and the hornets there you go so is the teams that scored more than the heat last year per game

10:29the raptors the blazers the jazz so if you want to know what like we can talk about defense all you

10:38want but you're the bottom of the league and score yeah they gotta score and they don't have their top

10:46and that doesn't work like that anymore like like the bad boys don't work where you could score 90

10:53points and win by 10 but that's i do that's the impression they're giving us i do they have over

10:58the last couple years i do think though they're like this is the thing with tyler with him being

11:01out that sucks and as much people back on tyler like having a backcourt yeah it may not be the

11:07best defensively but having a backcourt with the shooters of norman powell and tyler hero and the way

11:12that norman can get to that and then you have nico who is a good shooter that's got something there

11:18that's got that's got some intrigue from time to time okay but what did they do to tyler

11:24last year

11:27and called it and said this is what we're gonna do i know but everybody's got realistically really

11:35everybody's got to deal with that that's not the thunder

11:37and that they tried to go over they tried to go at haliburton everybody has to deal with that

11:44tried to go at haliburton but he's 6'9 so he can just he's not 6'9 he's got he's got he's 6'5 but

11:49he's but he doesn't have t-rex arms and they had miles either they got miles turner and pascal

11:54siakam and they got uh mathurin and and kneesmith like those are guys who get after it but davion like

11:59that's why you got guys like davion and you got guys like wiggins and you do have guys like

12:03kalal if he can get all that stuff from rim protection like they do have good defensive

12:07players every team basically nba hat is gonna have a sieve on offense luca

12:12really really i understand okay i understand they were they they got absolutely embarrassed

12:18by the calves i cannot i cannot paint that in any other way

12:22and got called out by a guy who's his own parking cone

12:26right like you know you know but you know how bad defensive you have to be when a guy who is

12:33known for not playing defense calls you out garland garland garland's got and now he ain't defended

12:38nobody and now garland's coming off a turf toe turf toe like dude i had turf toe it it brought me to

12:48tears like i was a grown grown ass man crying because i couldn't walk i had to walk i couldn't put shoes

12:55on like and i could feel my heartbeat in my toe it's the worst
