00:00First off, nothing against New Bounds, but if you're doing a deal with New Bounds for your NBA kick,
00:07that just means that Nike didn't want you, Under Armour didn't want you, and Adidas was like,
00:12we're sticking to soccer. Again, no disrespect to New Bounds. I've got a pair of New Bounds kicks
00:18to walk with, all right? But Cooper Flagg, who's the great white hope in the NBA and looks like
00:26he's got the game to back it up, just released this piece of garbage as his first ever sneaker
00:33release as an NBA star. Now, obviously at Duke, they wear Nikes, all right? That's a Duke deal,
00:40fine. And I know it's a big check. I'm sure it's a seven or eight figure check. I get that.
00:45But you're telling me that the first ever Cooper Flagg sneaker as a member of the NBA
00:52is a sneaker that my dead grandfather wore when he walked the malls in Sarasota, Florida?
01:00Yeah, that's right. Did we learn nothing from the second Steph Curry sneaker at Under Armour
01:06when you don't go white on white? Yeah, the isotomers that he had on. Yeah, yeah.
01:10What are we doing? As a sneaker guy, this looks like a miss for me, and it costs $120?
01:16It's a terrible miss. First of all, New Bounds sneakers should never cost more than $50.
01:19That's number one, right? Yeah. Number two, put it up again, guys. There's no design.
01:25None at all. There's nothing cool about it. There's nothing hip about it. There's nothing
01:29about that sneaker that says to me, or to my children, who range in age from 14 to 24,
01:36hey, Dad, I got to get a new pair of the Cooper Flagg kicks. No!
01:42The Hezzy Lopes. Number one, they look dirty, number one. Number two, their New Balance,
01:47said no one looks cool wearing New Balance sneakers, sadly to say. And number three,
01:52that's a grandpa's shoe. The thing about it, though, that's not unique to Cooper Flagg,
01:58that's a trend now in the NBA that I honestly do not understand, is why virtually every dude in the
02:06NBA today only wears low sneakers? Yeah.
02:09Like, there was a day, you know, past Pro Keds, where we got into the Nike era of basketball,
02:16where everyone out there, I don't care if you play high school ball, college ball, or pro ball,
02:21you wore high tops. Of course. Because it protects your ankles. And you wonder why there's so many
02:25ankle injuries now in the NBA, because they're all wearing low tops, which doesn't support the ankle,
02:30which is another story for another day. But as a sneakerhead, and Tyrone is one too,
02:35I am very disappointed. It's a disappointing show. But think about it like, I hate to put it this way,
02:42it's another knock towards my people. It's like, that's what it is. That's what it is.
02:51I mean, I'm just saying. It kind of is.
02:54Not kind of is. I own it. Listen, he was, he, he's supposed to be, he's supposed to be the poster
03:01child that talented white kids in the suburbs might make it to the NBA one day.
03:06Absolutely. For the next 10 years, he's the guy.
03:08He is, he's our generation's Larry Bird.
03:11Absolutely.
03:11At least on paper.
03:12He obviously is years away from becoming Larry Bird. But he's the guy, right?
03:17He's the guy.
03:17Like, I'm trying to think, like, Jason Williams' white chocolate never would have put out such a wax sneaker.
03:22No way.
03:23Never would have happened, right?
03:24You wouldn't have had it.
03:25The European dudes never would have put out a wax sneaker.
03:28No way.
03:28When I first saw it, I swear to you. And it knocked me for a loop today, because I'm in a great mood.
03:32And then one of the producers was like, yo, did you see Cooper Flagg's new sneaker?
03:36I'm like, no, I haven't. I didn't know he had a New Balance still. That's fine.
03:39But I'm like, that required no thought.
03:42No.
03:42That was like New Balance said, hey, we still have leftovers from 1988 when old men were wearing those sneakers to the malls,
03:49just walking around, killing time, you know, doing the old, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, man, shuffle.
03:56But, like, when they did the unboxing for Cooper Flagg, yo, Coop, here's the deal.
04:04I know the money's more important than anything, but we want to show you what our design teams have come up with for your first ever sneaker.
04:11And they opened the box on that.
04:14You think he was like, yeah, you captured everything I wanted in a sneaker.
04:19And I'm so depressed over this.
04:21Like, to me, the Jordan 3, for me, is the greatest sneaker of all time.
04:26I'm a Jordan guy.
04:27I'm a Nike guy.
04:28Even though I have a wide foot and they're very narrow, so they're not always the most comfortable sneaker,
04:34I'm a Nike dude, true and true.
04:36And I think the Jordan 3s are the greatest sneaker ever made design-wise, right?
04:40They're a heavy sneaker.
04:41Yeah, I have six pairs of 3s.
04:43There you go.
04:44Yeah.
04:45So you're with me on that.
04:45Yeah, yeah.
04:46I know some people like the 4.
04:48I'm not a 4 guy.
04:49The 4 is very close to the 3.
04:51It's nice, but it ain't to the 3.
04:53I'm a Jordan 3 guy.
04:55Have them in damn near every color of the stripe, whatever they got.
04:57But this, to me, is malfeasance.
05:00Yeah, you can't do that.
05:00This, to me, is like a class-action lawsuit.
05:03This, to me, is I'm not wearing that sneaker in an NBA game.
05:07I'm damn sure not going to Foot Locker to buy it.
05:10Like, how many kids do you think right now are like, oh, if I could only get the Cooper
05:13Flake New Balance 1 for Christmas this year, I'd be the happiest getting it down.
05:19You can't.
05:20They're going to buy another pair of Jordans.
05:21Yeah.
05:21That's what they're going to do.
05:22Like, you know, I like Cooper, but can't I just get another pair of Jordans?
05:25Exactly.
05:26Like, you put me in a buying tier.
05:27I'll buy a shirt.
05:28I'll buy a poster for the wall.
05:30Jersey.
05:30I'll buy his jersey.
05:31If you like, you know, the Babs.
05:32Yeah, I'll go to Predax and maybe get lucky at some of his playing cards, whatever it is.
05:37But I am not rocking the Cooper flag.
05:40New Balance isn't serving out for $1.20.
05:42$1.20?
05:43That's an old man's mall wearing sneakers.
05:46All that is right there.
05:47All right.
05:48The name is Jack.
05:48The way through here.
05:48So good.
05:49Yeah.
05:51So good.
05:52It's like that.
05:52Tony!
