00:00Hey everyone, I'm CJ from Enhance.
00:03And I'm Austin from Enhance.
00:06We're here to show you more of Lumines Erise,
00:08our newest puzzle game coming to PlayStation 5 on November 11th, 2025.
00:13And it's not your typical puzzle game.
00:15If you've played Tetris Effect Connected,
00:17you know what Enhance brings to the experience.
00:19In addition to beautiful, particle-filled visuals,
00:21an amazing soundtrack and rock-solid gameplay,
00:23there's a narrative element woven throughout.
00:25It's truly a unique experience.
00:27Yeah, we wanted to bring that same feeling and energy
00:30players get from playing Enhance's games like Rez Infinite
00:34or Tetris Effect Connected to Lumines,
00:36a beloved puzzle series that began 20 years ago.
00:39And we've packed so much content into this game.
00:42There is something for every kind of puzzle game player.
00:44There's the single-player journey mode,
00:46the head-to-head burst battle,
00:48time attack leaderboards,
00:49weekend events,
00:49and even dozens of challenge modes
00:51and training missions to own your skills.
00:53It sounds like a lot, but don't worry,
00:56this video is going to unpack all of those things one by one.
01:00But first, a quick crash course on the basics.
01:05For those nudaluminous, blocks drop into the playfield,
01:07often containing two different patterns.
01:09The goal is to form squares of 2x2 or larger,
01:12all of the same color or pattern.
01:13In larger matches, the game counts the number
01:16of 2x2 squares that fit in there.
01:17The timeline then sweeps across the screen
01:19to the beat of the music and clears matches you've made.
01:21And here's a brand new twist, burst.
01:26As you play, a number above the timeline increases from 50% to max at 100.
01:32You can hit L2 or R2, stop a match from clearing,
01:35and build it as large as possible.
01:38Adjacent blocks of the opposite pattern fly to the top of the screen
01:42as you grow your burst match, only to fall back down when it's all over,
01:46creating an even bigger screen clearing opportunity.
01:49Burst is a powerful tool that you can use to clear a big section of your playfield.
02:06The main single player mode in Luminous Arise is Journey.
02:09I suspect players will spend a lot of time here,
02:11and as I've mentioned before, there's a narrative throughline,
02:13which is a bit of a departure from previous Luminous games.
02:16The team, led by director Takashi Ishihara, is telling a story about self-discovery,
02:23connection, and the emotional journeys we undertake in our lives.
02:27But it's subtle. There's no voice acting or text. You pick up on it through the music,
02:32the background graphics, transitions between stages, and how the gameplay makes you feel.
02:36Journey has over 35 unique stages, each with its own incredible music and visuals.
02:44The soundtrack is by Hydelic, the same composer behind the music in Tetris Effect Connected.
02:52And Austin, as you know, there are so many great songs in the game that match their stages so well.
02:59We've also included a ton of accessibility options, like the ability to tweak the visuals,
03:09turn off game overs, stop blocks from automatically dropping.
03:14So if you're watching this and thinking this might be too much,
03:17you can tune everything to your comfort level.
03:30Once you complete Journey, you unlock Survival,
03:33a run-based challenge where you play through all of the stages without any breaks.
03:36This will be more familiar to Luminous Purist, and yes, there is a leaderboard for that mode.
03:41So good luck.
03:42If you're looking to improve your Luminous skills, check out the Missions mode.
03:46This is where you can truly master the core mechanics present in Luminous Arise.
03:50If you've played Luminous before and always wanted to get better,
03:53this is the place to do it. Training missions give you repeatable scenarios
03:57so you can learn how to deal with specific block types and maintain your combos.
04:01And then there are the challenges. Some are available from the start,
04:06and more are unlocked later after you progress through the Journey mode.
04:09They're all unique twists on the core gameplay. Things like all chains or blocks dropping with
04:14the beat, or huge clusters of blocks instead of the typical 2x2. It's incredibly fun.
04:20The Expert Challenges are my favorite. They block off parts of the playfield,
04:24or make you remember what's coming next in the queue.
04:27It's a great place to flex your skills. I can't wait to hear what people think of these.
04:35And once you find your favorite stages, you can add them to a playlist to suit your mood.
04:39And that brings up a good question. What's your favorite stage to start a playlist with?
04:43Personally, I love starting with something upbeat to get into the zone,
04:47such as Steam Ahead or Rise and Fall. Maybe something with a strong beat and a simple visual.
04:52How about you, CJ?
04:53I like something more chill to start, like Globe, and then build up to something more intense,
04:58like Codex. It's all about finding that perfect mood.
05:02So you might have noticed the little avatars in the bottom right of the screen.
05:09These are the Lumis. You can create your very own Lumis and customize them with different parts,
05:15a nameplay, and a title. You get new parts from playing the game, or you can equip
05:19premium skins from the Digital Deluxe Edition. Your Lumis follows you everywhere, from your journey
05:25mode avatar to your representation in the multiplayer hub. Speaking of multiplayer, another new addition
05:32is Burst Battle, a head-to-head mode unlike any in previous Luminous games. You can play locally,
05:37online with friends, against the CPU, or in rank to play. You send garbage to your opponent by matching
05:43squares. The bigger the match, and especially the bigger the match in Burst, the more garbage and
05:48pressure you put on your opponent.
05:50We also have Time Attack with 60, 180, and 300 second options. It's a great place to see yourself
05:56getting better. And a cool new mode called Dig Down, where you have to continually clear the playfield
06:01downward as blocks appear at the bottom and raise the stack. And for when you're waiting for friends
06:06off online or you just want to practice, you can try Quick Burst, an arcade-style challenge where you
06:11try to get the largest burst possible. It's a fun way to kill some time while still improving your skills.
06:15Stop into the Multiplayer Hub each weekend to participate in a weekend Lumi Live event.
06:22This worldwide community event encourages players to play Burst Battle, Time Attack, Dig Down, or
06:28Quick Burst on the weekend to advance a goal. If the goal is met, everyone who participated gets a
06:33unique Lumi avatar item. And that's Luminous Arise, packed with a ton of single and multiplayer modes
06:40and features coming November 11th, 2025 to PlayStation 5. And remember, it features optional VR
06:47support if you have a PSVR 2. We cannot wait for you to experience this new vision for Luminous.
06:53Thanks for watching.
