00:00Huge WWE plans for Bron Breaker, the latest update on Seth Rollins, and a Chris Jericho
00:15and AEW breaking up?
00:17I'm Oli Davis, and this is the WrestleTalk News.
00:24It's a sign of just how slow Triple H's booking can be when a faction lasted six months
00:29before one turned on the other?
00:30In the Vince days, that'd be considered the new Megapowers Explode War and Peace edition.
00:34The faction break happened in the closing moments of Monday's episode of Raw, where
00:39just six months after forming, Bron Breaker breakered up the Vision by spearing Seth Rollins.
00:45But up until last weekend, this wasn't the plan.
00:48It was reportedly Seth injuring his shoulder at Saturday's Crown Jewel Perth PLE that
00:53has forced The Angle to take place now.
00:56Fightful have reported that the Vision was meant to stay together until at least 2026,
01:02with likely the next six months being laid out.
01:05Which went a little something like this.
01:06The next big WWE event is Saturday night's main event on the 1st of November.
01:11This was originally planned to have Rollins defend his World Heavyweight Championship against
01:15CM Punk, who won the number one contendership on Monday's Raw.
01:19Then, at the end of November's Survivor Series, The Vision would fight The Bloodline and Friends
01:25in War Games.
01:27The reported babyface line-up was Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatou, Jey Uso and famed Samoan Family
01:32member CM Punk, who would all tag with an as yet undecided fifth man, who would likely be
01:39either Jimmy Uso or LA Knight.
01:42And they would take on The Vision's Rollins, Breaker, Bronson Reed, Paul Heyman's other
01:48client, Brock Lesnar and, weirdly, Austin Theory, who would reportedly also be joining
01:55the faction.
01:56Heyman has been a big fan of Theory dating back to his NXT days.
01:59Theory even has previous with Rollins, when he was a follower of Seth's during the Monday
02:03Night Messiah gimmick.
02:04Then The Observer also wrote that, while not confirmed, one of WWE's major matches for
02:10WrestleMania was to be Rollins vs Reigns.
02:14Which implies that The Vision would stay together through Mania 2, with Roman having to overcome
02:19Reed, then Breaker and, probably weirdly, Theory to finally get a shot at Seth's Championship,
02:25which is a singles match set up in the two previous Manias.
02:28Now we're going to go into my fantasy booking.
02:31I reckon Seth would have lost the belt to Roman, and on The Ram, the Raw after Mania,
02:36Breaker would turn on Rollins, making it exactly a year since the faction first formed.
02:41Enter Abu of Selfmade, who has been the first to cover much of the Seth injury news, and they've
02:47revealed what WWE's original plans for the Breaker betrayal were.
02:53That Bron turn was originally going to happen months later.
02:56Brock Lesnar was to be brought into the angle before the turn in order to work with Bron Breaker.
03:01Breaker's first post-Vision feud being Lesnar is a huge elevation for him, and it almost,
03:06almost, but not quite makes Brock squashing Cena make sense.
03:10Cena died so Bron could soar.
03:13But even if you remove all the accusations stuff, Lesnar is still a complicated choice.
03:19Because, and this is me speculating here, does that mean WWE planned for Bron to become a
03:24babyface?
03:25The template for the vision is quite clearly Triple H's Evolution faction from the mid-2000s.
03:31And the big breakout babyface star of Evolution was the explosive animal Batista.
03:36There, Batista found out that Hunter and Ric Flair were using him, so on the road to WrestleMania
03:4221, he did a thumbs down turn on them both, revealing that he would be using his Royal Rumble
03:47contract on Triple H's World Heavyweight title, which he won at Mania, becoming one of the
03:52company's top babyfaces.
03:54Now this is where those Lesnar plans come in.
03:56WWE is intentionally tone deaf these days, but I don't think even they would book Brock
04:00Lesnar as an outright babyface against a new star like Breaker.
04:05That would imply Lesnar would be the heel in that feud, thus making Bron the babyface.
04:12Perhaps the original Breaker plans had him splitting away from the Vision, which would still be
04:16led by Seth, who would recruit people like Lesnar, Fury and, heartbreak, Breaker's really
04:22good mate Bronson Reed to attack him.
04:25Which Bron would then have to overcome to finally get a shot at Seth at Summerslam.
04:29The previous examples of this in Triple H's reign see every Judgment Day and Bloodline
04:33story ever.
04:35What do you think the original plans for the Vision were?
04:37Let me know in the comments down below.
04:39As for Seth, Abu has reported that, aside from the closing angle of Breaker spearing Rollins,
04:45one day's episode of Raw went ahead as originally scripted.
04:48From the Vision's opening promo, backstage segment and then standing tall at the end.
04:53So pretty much every episode of Raw since WrestleMania then.
04:56While none of us want any wrestlers to get injured, there is a silver lining to the Seth
05:00situation.
05:01It could force WWE out of its creative stagnation.
05:05One reason the episode of Raw didn't have any other major rewrites is because WWE were
05:10essentially hedging their bets.
05:12They were in Australia, and didn't have their full medical resources to diagnose what
05:16the injury actually was.
05:18They then had to do the long flight home following Raw.
05:20The Wrestling Observer is now reporting Rollins' injury is legitimate, as there was some concern
05:25it was a work after WWE did a very similar angle in July's Saturday night's main event,
05:30and that he is expected to be undergoing shoulder surgery as soon as possible.
05:35The extent of the damage is still unknown, but it's estimated he'll be out for a minimum
05:40of several months.
05:41BW Insider add that some in WWE believe Seth is heading for a shoulder or rotator cuff surgery,
05:48which could mean a recovery period of at least half a year.
05:51Bryan Alvarez, however, claims that people still don't know what is happening until
05:55he's been properly evaluated by WWE's medical team in Birmingham, Alabama.
06:00What we do know for sure right now is that Rollins has been removed from the 17th and 18th of
06:05October WWE live shows in Japan this week, where he was due to face CM Punk and then team
06:10with The Vision against Punk, Nakamura and Jey Uso.
06:14Seth has been replaced with Dominic Mysterio on the 17th, and the 18th's match will now
06:18be a straight tag of the bronze vs Nakamura and Jey.
06:22So if Seth is out for two months or more, what does that mean for War Games and the World
06:27Heavyweight title?
06:29Maybe the Saturday night's main event match could become Brom vs Punk for the vacant top
06:33belt.
06:34Which I would just capitalise on this momentum and give Breaker the win, and then he can
06:38captain the Vision as the World Heavyweight Champion against the Bloodline if they stick
06:43with those plans for Survivor Series.
06:45WWE really have an opportunity to cement Breaker as a top guy here by having him beat so many
06:51other top stars in the space of a month.
06:53Meanwhile, Seth's real life wife and kinda Vision member has posted,
06:56I'm gone for one week.
06:58Awkward.
06:59I kind of hope Becky chooses Bron over Seth now.
07:01Wait!
07:02What did you just say?
07:03A young wrestler is getting popular?
07:05Quick!
07:06Someone call Chris Jericho so he can put them in his faction!
07:09Because of WWE and AEW signing wrestlers to multi-year contracts several years ago, there's
07:14not much room for big free agent movement between the two companies at the moment.
07:19Top AEW names like FTR, Okada, Hangman Page, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks
07:24are all signed at least through 2027.
07:28As are Rusev, Chad Gable, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio for WWE.
07:32Sheamus and Randy Orton are there until 2029.
07:36And The Undertaker's WWE contract expires when The Last Shadow falls on this mortal plane,
07:40and The Great Silence takes us all in its cold embrace.
07:45All the major names are largely staying where they are right now, for a long time.
07:49Potentially apart from one.
07:51Chris Jericho!
07:52Your favourite of mine, Chris Jericho!
07:54Jericho has been with AEW since it launched in 2019, where he was the promotion's first
07:59ever world champion.
08:00He had celebrated runs with the Inner Circle, the Jericho Appreciation Society and the Ring
08:04of Honor world title.
08:06But in recent years, fans have turned on him for feeling like he's taking too much time
08:09away from younger, fresher talent.
08:12That anti-Jericho sentiment appears to have finally taken him off screens, as he hasn't
08:17been on AEW TV since April, and his AEW contract reportedly expires at the end of this year.
08:23If only WWE had a whole PLE match stipulation perfectly suited to surprise entrants with countdown
08:29timers in January!
08:31This year Jericho has maintained a never say never stance about returning to WWE, and it
08:36was very noticeable how much attention Michael Cole and Wade Barrett brought to John Cena
08:41doing the walls of Jericho in his match against AJ Styles at last Saturday's Crown Jewel PLE.
08:46The spot was one of the loudest tribute reactions of the night, and commentary even said Jericho's
08:51name, something they didn't do for other AEW talent referenced in the match like Christopher
08:56Daniels.
08:57The latest news is that Jericho has announced his seventh Rock'n Wrestling Rager at Sea Cruise.
09:02Every year for the last seven, Jericho has run a cruise with wrestling matches, rock music
09:07and comedians.
09:08A 2020 episode of Dynamite was even broadcast from the boat.
09:12The 2026 line-up includes Jericho, of course, Jeff Hardy, Soraya and The Great Mooter as its
09:17main attractions.
09:18Nick Nemeth and Bully Ray are billed as sovereign sailors.
09:21But unlike previous years, there's not a single AEW name featured.
09:26But it does have tugboat Fred Ottman, so who needs him?
09:29The bottom of the advertisement does say more to be announced.
09:33And it's possible that AEW names could be added once the company knows what their TV
09:37and PPV dates are for next November when the cruise is taking place.
09:41Or we could be getting a bunch of NXT and some main roster WWE names announced instead.
09:49Interestingly, as Jericho has revealed himself on his podcast, he directly pitched using NXT
09:54talent on his first cruise back in 2018.
09:58But Triple H turned him down, because Vince apparently thought everyone on cruises got
10:03food poisoning and it could be a health risk.
10:05Frustrated, Jericho turned to Cody Rhodes, who put him in touch with the people in charge
10:10of Ring of Honor.
10:11There is a legitimate argument that WWE originally turning the Jericho cruise down pushed him into
10:17the arms of the independent scene that birthed AEW.
10:21WWE could have a power card up their sleeveless vests here, offering Jericho main roster talent
10:26for his cruise to tempt him back.
10:29Click the video on screen now to watch my full reaction to the Seth Rollins betrayal angle,
10:33and also to find out even more about the real reasons behind the scenes for it happening.
10:39Because there's a non-mutually exclusive possibility, it was also down to very low TV ratings.
