Our story starts in Africa, or more to the point, at Wolverhampton Century Library.
00:04
How are you doing?
00:05
Thank you. We're fine, thank you.
00:07
What's your name then?
00:08
It's Elizabeth, Elizabeth Whitehouse.
00:10
So we're here in the children's library section,
00:13
and tell us about this fantastic display you've put together.
00:16
We've got a wonderful display here of all black history.
00:18
There's stories, there's fiction and non-fiction,
00:22
and lots of lovely, lovely black history stories.
00:25
And you've had a few events, haven't you,
00:27
that are kind of connected to black history that you've done.
00:29
Do you have different poetry and craft events?
00:32
Yeah. We've had a story and craft, and we've had a story time on a Saturday,
00:36
and we've got lots of displays all throughout Wolverhampton Libraries,
00:41
all the different libraries.
00:43
You're very busy, aren't you, at the library service,
00:45
and you've always got something going on.
00:47
And if people want to find out a little bit more,
00:49
how do they find out if there's a talk or, you know, an event on?
00:53
They can look online, they can look on our Facebook,
00:56
or they can come in, and we've always got displays of posters
00:59
of what events are going on.
01:01
And if people are interested in black history,
01:03
we've got some great books, haven't we?
01:05
I mean, we've got The Story Starts in Africa.
01:07
It's a wonderful story.
01:09
Pick us another couple out that you might recommend.
01:12
We've got Barack Obama.
01:13
Nicely illustrated.
01:14
Yeah.
01:15
We've got, this is a nice one, Baby Goes to Market.
01:19
Yeah.
01:19
That's a nice one that I use quite a lot.
01:21
Yeah.
01:22
And Anansi and the Golden Pot.
01:27
Let's have a look at Anansi.
01:28
Anansi's stories are wonderful.
01:30
Anansi?
01:31
I know, I've not heard of Anansi.
01:33
Cool.
01:34
So, yeah, if people want to find out more,
01:35
then, guys, go online and check it out.
01:38
As I say, there's loads of different events going on.
01:40
Anything in particular you want to give a shout-out to
01:42
that's coming up in the next few weeks?
01:44
We've got quite a few events,
01:46
usually stories and craft on Saturday.
01:48
Saturday afternoon at quarter past twelve.
01:50
Do you do a bit of reading yourself?
01:52
Yes, I do.
01:52
Yeah, good stuff.
01:54
