00:00Well, clouds are going to linger today after yesterday's rainfall.
00:03We've got a little more rain on the way, but also some warmer air tomorrow and Friday and a nice-looking weekend.
00:20So picked up some substantial rainfall for portions of southern Minnesota,
00:23anywhere from a half to as much as an inch of rainfall as even the southern suburbs getting in on a little bit of that.
00:29Rochester picking up an inch of rain.
00:31Areas in moderate drought, though, to the north, largely being missed by measurable rainfall.
00:36We do have a lot of low clouds, though, hanging on today.
00:38Best chance of seeing some sun is going to be northeastern Minnesota.
00:41I think they do break out into some sun here midday and afternoon.
00:44Otherwise, maybe a peak of sunshine here in southern Minnesota, but an awful lot of low-level moisture.
00:49Sun is also not as strong this time of year to burn off some of that.
00:52So highs are mostly going to be in the 50s.
00:54In fact, the warmest temperatures might be in northern Minnesota where they see a little more of that sunshine.
00:57That high pressure moving off to the east, it's not helping a whole lot.
01:00A lot of moisture stuck here in the lower atmosphere.
01:03Most of the showers, though, to the south.
01:05Southern Minnesota could see a few more showers yet today.
01:07But the main upper-level low that has been the focus this week, it gave us that first volley of moisture we saw yesterday.
01:14Sitting off to the west, it's now made it off the coast, moving across California into Nevada,
01:19and will be moving across the mountains here over the next 24 hours or so.
01:22So it's going to be pushing some warmer air up ahead of it.
01:25So tomorrow and Friday, we're talking about highs in the 70s across southern Minnesota.
01:29That's almost 15 degrees above normal at this point in the season.
01:32And cooler air does dry in behind it for the weekend, but nothing substantial, just cooling us back to really normal readings.
01:38But look at these highs tomorrow.
01:39Mid-70s out in southwestern Minnesota.
01:42Close to it, 70 in the Twin Cities, if we can get enough sunshine.
01:46And then Friday, probably similar temperatures.
01:4770s again across southern Minnesota.
01:50It will be breezy tomorrow, too, out of the southeast as that warmer, more moist air moves into the system here.
01:55But we're really going to be tracking the center of the low pretty carefully here.
01:59There's those highs on Friday back in the 70s here, again, across southern Minnesota before cooler air moves in for the weekend.
02:05But that low is going to track just to our north and west.
02:08And that's going to keep the bulk of the rainfall really close to that low, mostly across North Dakota, far northern Minnesota, into portions of Manitoba.
02:18So this is the low track here Thursday into Friday.
02:21And that means rainfall amounts.
02:22We're going to be kind of dry slotted here in between moisture that will develop with the cool front on Friday and then that moisture near the surface low here Thursday into Thursday night.
02:31But we will see some showers and thunderstorms tonight into tomorrow morning.
02:33And then those will lift north and east into the afternoon tomorrow.
02:36And then that cool front is what we'll be watching Friday.
02:39That could refire some showers and thunderstorms later in the day.
02:43Hopefully can fill in a little bit more.
02:45Otherwise, it looks like maybe just a tenth to a quarter of an inch of rainfall here in southern Minnesota.
02:49And once again, the main drought area in north central Minnesota might be missed by the bulk of this rainfall.
02:55So the track of that low will really matter here.
02:5855 today.
02:59That's close to normal, though, actually, with the clouds hanging on.
03:03Tomorrow, close to 70.
03:04Again, mainly some morning showers or a thunderstorm.
03:07And then some peaks of afternoon sun.
03:09Could be close to 70.
03:11Friday, that's the question mark as far as timing of rainfall.
03:14That cool front will come through.
03:15We could see some spotty showers or thunderstorm early and then in late in the day.
03:19Otherwise, peaks of sun midday.
03:21Low 70s for highs.
03:22That's, again, a good 15 degrees above normal.
03:25And then clearing skies as we head into Saturday and Sunday.
03:27Should see a pretty nice looking fall weekend.
03:29Highs mostly in the 50s and 60s.
03:31And a fair amount of sunshine, especially by Sunday.
03:34Okay.
03:34Okay.
03:34Okay.
