00:00Hot in Miami. Louisville comes to town against the number two Miami Hurricanes.
00:05This line, however, had a look ahead line around 15 and a half.
00:08We're now below 14s to 13 and a half, depending on where you're shopping at.
00:12A total of 52 and a half.
00:14This is the time that we look at the Miami Hurricanes, Joe, and say,
00:17they're a really good football team.
00:18But we've seen this in the past.
00:20Winning games you're supposed to win hasn't always been the easiest task for the Hurricanes.
00:24What's your spread line on this one, Joe?
00:26So this is an interesting line, right, Donny?
00:29Because we know the look ahead line was a little bit higher.
00:32I do think that this is a game Friday night ACC action that will likely garner a lot of public attention as well here.
00:43But I don't know if the public is going to run to the window here and back Louisville,
00:48who quite honestly hasn't looked all that well.
00:51And if you are, then you're basically it's not so much a bet on Louisville
00:55as it would be a bet against the University of Miami,
00:59who for some reason the betting community is still waiting for the other shoe to drop here.
01:04But I don't get it.
01:05I mean, to take this down, it was over two touchdowns, Donny.
01:09Like you said, 15 and a half, 14 and a half.
01:11It was as low as 12 and a half.
01:13And now it's 13 and a half here.
01:17And I don't know if that's because it certainly isn't the public running to back Louisville.
01:22This could be one of those head fake situations where the early money comes in to push it down under two touchdowns.
01:29Maybe the public follows suit.
01:31And then I guarantee you before Friday, Donny, this line will land over two touchdowns.
01:38Bet it now if you're looking at the U on Friday.
01:41Yeah, or just take Miami in the first half where they run up that 21-point lead
01:46and then just take their foot off the gas pedal in the fourth quarter.
01:48Many different ways, but Miami needs this win.
01:50State number two.
01:51Maybe it could be a special year down on South Beach
01:53because, boy, the Dolphins ain't going to give you a special year down there in Miami.
01:57Let's keep it moving.
01:58Another Friday night game, Joe, Nebraska and Minnesota.
02:018 p.m. on Friday.
02:02This line opened up as a five and a half point favorite towards Nebraska.
02:05We now see it as high as nine and a half at some outlets and a total of 46 and a half.
02:09Is this an audition for Matt Rule saying,
02:12Hey, Penn State, watch me beat up Minnesota.
02:15I can do this for you.
02:17What's the spread line here?
02:18Well, this, I mean, this was as low as four and a half in the market when it opened, Donny.
02:23And then it got to about six and a half yesterday, just when we were on the show.
02:29And now look at it.
02:30Now it's up to eight and a half and nine in a lot of spots.
02:34And the only reason that's happening is I don't think this is so much an indictment on Nebraska and Matt Rule
02:40as this is a absolute, utter fade by the pros of P.J. Fleck and what's happening in Minnesota here.
02:48So this line tells me the market is sticking a fork in Minnesota, which means we probably should as well.
02:56P.J. Fleck might look really good at Penn State.
02:59Here's Penn State rambles around for a head coach where they want integrity.
03:02That's the most important thing.
03:03Think about that one.
03:05Take a look at college football.
03:06You say, Donny, we're talking about Friday games.
03:08What about Saturday games?
03:09What about Tuesday night football, Joe?
03:12We got that tonight.
03:133.05, 3.06 on the rotation at 8 o'clock start.
03:16Two night, people.
03:17Florida International, Western Kentucky.
03:19Opening line, seven and a half range.
03:21We now see as high as tens in the marketplace this morning.
03:2556 and a half total.
03:26Tuesday football.
03:28What's that spread line, Joe?
03:29Well, it's important to remember here, Donny.
03:31Again, Tuesday night football, college, right?
03:34I guarantee you this line has not moved two points because the public ran to the window to back.
03:41Western Kentucky in any way, shape, or form.
03:45So understand when the handle is low on some of these early week games with teams that most of the public didn't even know.
03:53We don't know where Western Kentucky is.
03:55What are the Hilltoppers who?
03:57That's not moving it.
03:59What's moving it is the pros have taken a clear stance and a line in the sand here.
04:04They like Western Kentucky.
04:06Both these defenses, by the way, are just awful.
04:09Would not shock me at all if this game is an absolute wild shootout.
04:13Talked about the basketball, Paul, here in NCAA action.
04:16It's coming up soon this season.
04:18Before you know, it's going to be feast week in college basketball, but we're feasting on college football right now.
04:23The AP, top 25, Paul, no surprise.
04:25It's Ohio State sitting at number one.
04:27Those Miami Hurricanes at number two.
04:30And look at that.
04:31Indiana University number three.
04:36How about, Joe?
04:37I don't know.
04:38Indiana is a football school now.
04:40Woo!
04:41Yep.
04:42Yep.
04:42Kind of crazy, isn't it?
04:44And well, enjoy it now, Indiana, because Cignetti will not be there and your head coach next year.
04:51I can assure you of that.
04:52But enjoy the ride while you can.
04:55I mean, listen, last year they beat all the bad teams, and when they played real competition, they got smoked.
05:02This year, not so much.
05:04So hats off to them.
05:06This team is for real.
05:07And maybe sooner rather than later, Donnie, if you're going to be going in the futures market, maybe you want to take a look there.
05:14Maybe a Big Ten championship, make the playoffs, all of that fun stuff here with this team.
05:19Now, Cignetti's a little bit older, but he still has that fire.
05:23And look, you go to Indiana and turn them into a national power, that's going to turn attention.
05:29So before we take a look at some of the games this weekend in the national championship odds, Joe, where is he going to be next year?
05:35Like, which one of these top 20 teams is firing their head coach, and where does he appear?
05:40Because to me, I'll send him to Penn State.
05:42It just doesn't look like he's a Penn State fit, how stupid that sounds.
05:46Like, I don't think they're going to hire him.
05:48But he is going to be the hottest commodity by saying, I can win anywhere.
05:52I'm brash about it.
05:53Like, when Colorado got Dion, they were down in the dumps.
05:57When Dion came to town, he's like, look, I'm bringing my luggage with me, and we're going to get real abrasive over here.
06:01And it's worked in their favor.
06:02They sell out, and they're a national commodity.
06:04Where does Cignetti end up for you?
06:06Where does he?
06:07Well, you know, because of this era now, Donnie, in college football, the NIL era, I think you really have to answer the question.
06:16It's like, is Penn State really a better job?
06:19I mean, what does Penn State have that Indiana, now that they're a national, can, you know, the kids are going to want to come and play for a coach, right?
06:27They're going to want to.
06:28Obviously, it doesn't matter if Indiana or no.
06:31If you can build up an Indiana team that's always been a basketball school and now consider it to be a football school, my goodness, the money is the money.
06:43I mean, either you can pay these kids or you can't.
06:45Not like Indiana don't have the money with donors and everybody else there to be able to afford the best.
06:51Maybe this is where he stays, but I'm not convinced Penn State is the job of all jobs again.
06:57I'm really not.
06:58Look, maybe we can get one of the producers in the background because here's why, and I don't want to spill the beans yet.
07:03I saw a tweet go around with the 2026 schedule for the Penn State Nittany Lions, and I'm going to hold that comment right here.
07:11So maybe by the end of the segment, we can get a quick clip to see exactly what that schedule looks like because I'm going to get back to that here.
07:16But let's take a look at the national championship odds, which start with Ohio State at a plus 320 price.
07:21Alabama actually coming in at number two, Joe, sitting 60 on the pole at 7-1.
07:26Then there's the Miami Hurricanes at plus 850, and away we go down there.
07:29Is Ohio State set to just trample everybody?
07:32Because when I look at a football team, and I love the way Miami's playing, but Ohio State's defense seems like it's just on a professional level,
07:39and they have enough talent on offense to get by.
07:41They should be the favorites.
07:42But are they getting your price point, Joe, at plus 320?
07:44Why do you find somebody else?
07:47Listen, it's kind of hard.
07:48What happened against Florida State, Donnie?
07:52Because the team that I'm seeing here with Alabama, with Simpson, looks night and day compared to that first game there.
08:00Meanwhile, Florida State looks like they might have just played the best game of their lives, and that was it.
08:06But they are very much alive, Donnie, and I think it begins with the quarterback-coach combination there.
08:13This kid, Simpson, is the real deal, one of the better passers in college football here.
08:19Alabama can beat you running the ball with your boy there, and yeah, Jam Miller, and they can beat you over the top.
08:26That's a very dangerous Alabama team.
08:29I'll tell you, the Heisman Trophy odds, South Florida's finest here.
08:33That is Carson Beck at a 3-1 price here to win the Heisman Trophy, just over Ty Simpson, who's playing great football after that debacle to Florida State opening weekend here.
08:42I just look at, like, Carson Beck at Miami on the top.
08:44It just brings me back to, like, one of the previous Heisman Trophy winners.
08:47Vinny Testaverde crashes his scooter before the Penn State game.
08:50Like, Miami, just rob yourself in bubble tape here.
08:53Get to the college football playoff and have your quarterback play good football.
08:57Are there too much expectations now down in Coral Gables, Joe?
09:03No, they're not.
09:05This is a big game coming up here.
09:07But, listen, that is, on both sides of the ball, Donnie, maybe the most complete team in college football right now.
09:15It remains to be seen with Ohio State, because defensively, we know they're elite.
09:21But if, you know, it comes down to it, do I want the freshman, or do I want Carson Beck at 40 years old leading my team?
09:29I think that's ultimately what it's going to come down to.
09:31As long as they don't shoot themselves in the foot, he should be the frontrunner from here on out.
09:36But, let's go.
09:37By the way, let's get into some of these games this weekend coming up.
09:40Ole Miss heading between the hedges to take on the Georgia Bulldogs, Joe.
09:43This line opened up double digits no longer.
09:46We're actually down to seven at most outlets right now.
09:49Georgia and Ole Miss, 3.30 SEC battle this weekend.
09:53What are we looking at here?
09:54Well, boy, I tell you, Ole Miss, man, by the hair on their chinny-chin-chin last week.
10:00But, listen, Ole Miss does that, right?
10:03They always make the easy games look hard.
10:06They make the hard games look easy.
10:08I don't like this Georgia team.
10:11This is not the same old, same old Georgia Bulldogs.
10:14They're pretty good against the run, Donnie.
10:16But against the pass, not so much.
10:19I'm pretty sure Ole Miss is not going to want to run the ball.
10:22It's going to be all about throwing the ball all over the field.
10:26I don't think Georgia can compete.
10:27I'll take the touchdown plus in this one here.
10:31I think Ole Miss gets it done.
10:32All right.
10:33How about this one here?
10:34Tennessee, Alabama, Little Dixieland.
10:36Delight.
10:36Nine-and-a-half point favorite from Bama at home.
10:40Rocky Top coming to town here.
10:41Should be a fun one.
10:4258-and-a-half.
10:43Love to see that as a total.
10:44I don't know that I want to sweat out an under in this game, Donnie.
10:50I am fairly certain both of these teams should be able to put some points on the board,
10:56and I think rather easily.
10:58Much like that Georgia-Tennessee game was a shootout, I think this could be one as well.
11:05Shoot it out at this point.
11:06A lot of good stuff coming up this weekend.
11:08Also, some other games.
11:09USC and Notre Dame.
11:10I'm telling you right now, Joe, Notre Dame wins again as we march towards the college football
11:15playoff after losing our first two games.
11:17Who said it can't get in the playoffs here?
11:19Who's talking all that nonsense?
11:20Notre Dame double-digit winner over SC.
11:22Joe, I'm calling it right now.
11:25Well, USC, you got to win a game on the road, Lincoln Riley, against a good team.
11:30Let's see you do it here this week.
11:32James Franklin was a year away from putting it together.
11:34Come back after the break.
11:35I want to show you something.
11:36I get angry at Penn State, right?
11:39Sometimes it can be a little bit envious because the reason why, Joe, is I want to talk to
11:43you about Penn State's 2026 schedule because every year we look at Penn State, it's the
11:48same MO.
11:49Like, you are James Franklin.
11:50You're an institution that sells out 110,000 tickets every single game.
11:55Unlimited budget.
11:56Buy whatever players you want, and the fans will always support you.
11:59It's a massive home field advantage.
12:01And for a while the way, you're playing a Big Ten schedule.
12:04It's like, okay, every once in a while, Michigan's going to be good every three years.
12:07Now, they've been good the past couple years, don't get me wrong.
12:09Ohio State's always good.
12:10Somebody might rise up and bite you, but you know you're going to get at least 10 wins every
12:14single year just by being blindfolded, and that should be good enough.
12:18So this year, when you open up, just like every year, you play horrible opponents to start
12:22the season.
12:23And a lot of times, you don't even leave Beaver Stadium.
12:25Look at this 2026 schedule, which James Franklin got fired this year.
12:29Whoever's going to be the coach next year walks into this schedule, Joe.
12:32Home to Marshall, at Temple, home to Buffalo.
12:36Every year, every September, you open up with three free victories as the Penn State head
12:42coach.
12:43Then you head in the Big Ten play, the vaunted Maryland Terrapins, which is basically a home
12:47game for Penn State in Maryland.
12:49You're going to take on Michigan, who is a decent opponent.
12:52At Northwestern, bad opponent.
12:54Minnesota, bad opponent.
12:56Purdue, bad opponent.
12:58Rutgers, bad opponent.
12:59You play USC.
13:00It was a good program, but you got them at home.
13:02Wisconsin, bad opponent.
13:04At Washington, end of the season.
13:05We'll see what that turns out to be.
13:07But it doesn't seem like Penn State sets their schedule up every single year.
13:11No Oregon on the schedule.
13:12No Ohio State.
13:14Like, you mint yourself 10 wins, and James Franklin's like, I can't believe they're going
13:17to get rid of me here.
13:18Oh, did you see my two playoff wins last year, Joe?
13:20Which meant they beat, what, SMU and then Boise State.
13:24The most fraudulent scheduling in the history of college football always takes place at Penn State.
13:31How is it possible?
13:31And I think, Donnie, if you put that list back up on the screen, because if I'm not mistaken,
13:38of all of those games, there is only one team in the top 25 right now.
13:44One team that they're playing, and that's USC, who, by the way, wasn't in the top 25 until this just past week.
13:52So they don't play any teams currently in the top 25 on that schedule.
13:58And that may not change, Donnie, by this time next year as well.
14:02So maybe it is the job of the century, right?
14:05Go in, run the table, and then get blown out by Ohio State in the Big Ten, you know, championship.
14:10Congrats.
14:11Like, it feels like if you are the coach, let's just say it is Matt Ruhle, right?
14:15So Matt Ruhle comes to town for Penn State, wins like 11 games or 10 games next year.
14:19You know what he's going to do with him and his agent.
14:21He's going to be another hot cover.
14:22Oh, Matt Ruhle looks like he wants to go back to the NFL.
14:24And Penn State goes, no, we gave you an eight-year deal.
14:27Let's make it 11 now, all guaranteed money.
14:30Whoever gets that Penn State job, at least for one year, is a flat-out goldmine.
14:34You can roll your helmet out and win 10 games and be like the new savior of Penn State football at this point.
14:40That's why I wanted to bring up that schedule because it's ridiculous the same way it always is.
14:44Every college football team in September typically gets tested.
14:47Penn State never tested here.
14:49Were they top five team, top three team, top two team entering into the season?
14:52Stop the madness with Penn State here.
