00:00Well, there's a big battle in the state of Florida.
00:03USF, fresh off their route of Boise State,
00:07takes on top-ranked Florida and D.J. Lagway.
00:10Both teams are 1-0.
00:12USF travels on the road.
00:14Coach, a lot of these kids go to high school with the Florida Gators.
00:18There's competition.
00:19They're 17-and-a-half-point dogs.
00:21They potentially, just maybe,
00:23can make it a fourth-quarter game against the Gators.
00:26You know, I was in Gainesville last Thursday.
00:28I was speaking at the Gator Quarterback Club,
00:30and they were saying,
00:31we get these two out of the first couple of games out of the way,
00:34and we'll get to the conference.
00:35All of a sudden, South, you see USF,
00:38South Florida beats the stew out of Boise State,
00:42and that becomes a big game.
00:43And you're exactly right.
00:45I've recruited Florida.
00:46I've coached at Florida State.
00:48Those guys, it's a Super Bowl.
00:50When you go to USF or UCF,
00:52you probably wanted to go to Florida or Florida State,
00:55and you didn't get offered.
00:56And so now this is your Super Bowl,
00:58and they will be inspired.
01:00And there are a lot of great football players down there,
01:02and I guarantee it'll be,
01:04it has a chance to be a heck of a football game.
01:08But Florida's ended with DJ Blackway.
01:11They won their last six regular season games last year.
01:14They were on a roll,
01:15and I do think he's got that program heading in the right direction.
01:18Maybe a sleeper in the conference to compete
01:21for maybe a conference championship game.
01:23It's possible.
01:25Now, a couple of factors I want to bring up.
01:27The mobility of Byron Brown, the quarterback at USF.
01:31He abused the Boise State defense on the ground,
01:33well over 70 yards and a touchdown run.
01:36The other factor as well is that USF played on a Thursday night.
01:40So from the underdog perspective,
01:42to have that extra day potentially of game planning and preparation
01:46has to benefit the Bulls,
01:48and their head coach, Alex Golish, no?
01:50Yeah, probably, but you know what?
01:53I mean, Florida opened up with Long Island University.
01:57I don't know what comes out of Long Island other than Ice-T,
02:00and I don't know much about their football team,
02:04but that wasn't much of a football game.
02:06They didn't have to play people the entire game.
02:09They could really focus if they needed to on USF.
02:12The question is, did Florida make sure,
02:15they've got to make sure they understand how good USF could be.
02:18So I think Florida is obviously the better football team,
02:21but they better stay focused because this will be a huge one for South Florida,
02:25and nothing would put Billy Napier back on the hot seat quicker than to lose to South Florida
02:32when everybody feels like now we're getting Florida back where they're supposed to be.
02:36And on week three, they do face off against Brian Kelly,
02:40and the LSU Tigers do not want to have a lost potential look-ahead spot for the Florida Gators.
02:47We'll see how this game plays out a little bit later in the week.
02:50The other matchup takes place in Lexington.
02:53Last year, Kentucky went into Oxford and knocked off Jackson Dart and the Ole Miss Rebels
02:58as a 17-and-a-half-point road underdog.
03:02Zach Calzada and the Wildcats are 1-0.
03:05So Ole Miss's new quarterback, Austin Simmons, can make a statement.
03:09How do you see this matchup playing out right now?
03:12Ole Miss, a 10-and-a-half-point road favorite in Lexington.
03:16Well, I just got this feeling that Ole Miss is going to be after Kentucky.
03:21Kentucky struggled last year.
03:23They projected to have a tough year.
03:25This year, again, quite possibly.
03:27I think Ole Miss gets after him.
03:29First of all, the quarterback, Austin Simmons, is an outstanding quarterback.
03:35He comes out of Pahokee, Florida.
03:38He started as a true ninth grader there.
03:40That's where Anquan Bolden, my dad coached him, Janoris Jenkins.
03:43I coached him at North Alabama.
03:45It's where the great football players come from.
03:48So I really think Ole Miss, not only will they beat Kentucky,
03:52but Lane Kiffin got embarrassed last year.
03:55And Kentucky knocked him out of a lot of stuff he thought he would have
03:58at the end of the year.
03:59Not only do they win, I think he's going to try to put as many points on Kentucky.
04:03So I got them.
04:04I'm going to take the over because I really like this quarterback.
04:08And I know what Lane Kiffin wants to do.
04:10So I'm going to go with it because I think they're going to try to put as many points
04:13as they can on this football team.
04:15So I'm going to go with it because I'm going to try to put as many points on it.
