00:00Prom Breaker betrays Seth Rollins?
00:02The real behind the scenes reasons it happened?
00:05And my review of Monday Netflix Raw.
00:08I'm Oli Davis, and this is the WrestleTalk News.
00:15Saturday's Crown Jewel PLE in Australia was a great night for the Vision.
00:19Bronson Reed beat Roman Reigns in the show's opener, and after three consecutive losses
00:24to Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins finally beat him in a match to decide who was the future
00:29of the company and the most dominant champion.
00:32And who gets to wear a ring?
00:34And who gets to briefly hold the comically over-decorated crown jewel belt before it goes
00:38back to a Saudi Arabian vault?
00:40And of course… something about a watch.
00:44Just six days beforehand, Paul Heyman had warned Rollins that if he lost the match, the rest
00:49of the Vision, Breaker, Reed and even Heyman himself could betray him.
00:55Seth winning thankfully put that insecurity to rest.
00:58But turns out, that is a terribly emotionally healthy thing to do.
01:02Because then Bronson Breaker speared him in the closing of Raw.
01:06See therapists?
01:07If anything, I should be more hypervigilant.
01:10It was a shocking moment made all the more surprising by Triple H's reluctance to book
01:14any major angles outside of the January to April period.
01:18And the real reason behind Breaker's even more heel turn has come out from the unlikeliest
01:23of sources.
01:24A mathematics professor.
01:26So let me break it down for all you dummies that don't understand what just happened.
01:30You take Seth Rollins, the so-called visionary, and you put him in a ring with Brons Breaker,
01:35a genetic freak.
01:36But what Seth didn't calculate was the betrayal quotient.
01:39Now let's do the math.
01:41Seth thought he had a 100% chance of survival with Brons on his side.
01:45And what he didn't know is that Brons got a 66.2% loyalty when you factor in family bloodlines.
01:53And the other 33.3% is pure rage.
01:56So now Seth's sitting there asking why?
01:59I'll tell you why.
02:01Because Brons Breaker's not here to play backup, he's here to take over.
02:05He's the dog-faced destroyer, and now the leash is OnlyFans.
02:08I mean, off!
02:09Off!
02:10So Seth, you took your eye off the math, you had a 141, two-third percent chance of
02:15getting betrayed, and now you're just another statistic in the Steiner equation of pain.
02:21And it all spells disaster for possibly real injuries behind the scenes.
02:26The Wrestling Observer, PWInsider and Fightful have all reported the non-maths reason for
02:31Breaker turning on Seth.
02:33WWE's original plans for the Vision had them staying together as an act, at least through
02:38WrestleMania.
02:39This would have included a Vision vs Bloodline War Games match for next month's Survivor
02:43Series, where, weirdly, a returning from injury Austin Theory was reportedly going to join
02:49Seth's group.
02:50Luke and I have been speculating that one of the big Mania matches would be Rollins vs Reigns,
02:55with Reigns going through the rest of the Vision faction to get to him.
02:59Fightful and Selfmade PW have both reported that Breaker's split was originally planned
03:04for 2026.
03:06But instead of staying together for a year, the Vision broke up in a little over six months.
03:11And it's seemingly because Seth is injured.
03:15PWInsider first reported that the Breaker betrayal angle was necessitated by Seth Rollins suffering
03:21an injury at Crown Jewel Perth.
03:23Fightful adds that it was a heavy creative pivot.
03:26Heavy creative pivot title of your next PLE.
03:29Apparently, Seth injured his left arm or shoulder during the coast to coast headbutt dive spot
03:34in his match against Cody.
03:36He was seen with his arm in a sling the following day.
03:39And Fightful adds that Seth even said that move would have long lasting ramifications.
03:44Rollins was reportedly put over strong backstage for how he then not only finished the match
03:49on Saturday, but how he also did a promo, backstage segment and physical beatdown angle
03:55on Monday's Raw.
03:56He was said to be wearing even more obnoxiously baggier clothes than normal to hide his injury.
04:01One of Fightful's WWE sources has hoped the injury is Seth has broken his arm rather
04:06than injured his shoulder, because a relatively clean arm break could mean a shorter recovery
04:11time than the usually way more complicated shoulder joint.
04:15If it is a simple broken bone, there's a chance Seth could be back by December.
04:19They'll find out more when he undergoes testing over the next few days, so until then,
04:24from all of us here, get better soon Seth.
04:27Unless it's all a work!
04:29Now I'm not saying it is a work.
04:30If I had to put a percentage on it, I'd say I'm 93.3% sure this is an unfortunate legitimate
04:36injury.
04:37But this isn't the first time WWE have called Wolf this year.
04:42In fact, it's not even the first time they've called Wolf with Seth Rollins.
04:46Just three months ago, on the 12th July's Saturday Night's Main Event, the match between
04:50Rollins and LA Knight seemingly had to rush to a finish when Seth appeared to legitimately
04:55injure himself.
04:56It came out very quickly that this was a work, despite WWE pretending it was the biggest ruse
05:01ever when Seth cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase totally fine six weeks later at
05:07Summerslam.
05:08Oh well, nevertheless, f*** Bill Goldberg.
05:11Despite John Pollock and the Wrestling Observer revealing it was a work, WWE continued to tell
05:16their own staff and roster that Seth's injury was real.
05:20And now the Wrestling Observer are reporting on his newest injury, many are not fully believing
05:25anything right now.
05:26In the attempt to work everyone, the belief in what those are being told, and there are
05:31multiple cases of this in recent months, the Rollins' Saturday Night's Main Event
05:34injury being the one that really costs credibility, with several in the room, the lack of trust
05:39right now is pretty high.
05:42Because there is one other reason that could have led to the shockbreaker betrayal.
05:46And it's a pattern we've seen over and over again throughout the decades in pro wrestling.
05:51It could be a knee-jerk reaction to bad ratings.
05:57Two weeks ago Nilsson changed the way they record TV viewership, now incorporating smart
06:02TV viewership data.
06:03You can watch my explainer on how that all works and what it means for wrestling by clicking
06:07the link in the video description below.
06:09Everyone thought this new technique would actually increase pro wrestling's ratings,
06:13as they suspected, like much of live sports, it was being undercounted on the old system.
06:18But to everyone's grim surprise, wrestling viewership came back much lower.
06:22Sometimes as low as 20%.
06:24Raw is on Netflix, which isn't factored into these reports, but the USA Network's SmackDown
06:29and the CW's NXT definitely are.
06:32WWE have already made changes to SmackDown's creative team after the show pulled in its lowest
06:38regular time slot number in its history earlier this month.
06:41And the Wrestling Observer has reported that, behind the scenes, WWE very much sees the ratings
06:47as an issue.
06:48The break of betrayal could have been booked as a hotshot angle to boost TV viewership.
06:53Especially as the episode of Raw was coming from Australia, and its much earlier start time
06:58could mean a lot of people choose not to watch.
07:00Having a big moment that everyone's talking about on the WrestleTalk News could make them
07:04catch up later.
07:05It's so big, I've not even got time to cover Takeshita, who just won the IWGP Heavyweight
07:10title over in New Japan from Zack Sabre Jr.
07:12But back to WWE, here is my review of that angle.
07:16It's Monday Night Raw… in about 5 minutes.
07:20The show opened with The Vision celebrating their winning night at Crown Jewel.
07:24Well with Seth solidifying his position, I guess we're just going to get all of these
07:27guys together for the next 6 months with the same 20 minute opening promos that achieve
07:32nothing, the same introductions, the same interference, the same ending to every episode.
07:37WWE did a great job of making Seth almost too complacent.
07:43He kissed Paul Heyman on the head after the crowd chanted for it, Bronson Reed got a huge
07:47home country reaction, Seth told them all backstage later he's on cloud nine and no one can
07:53knock him off.
07:54But he also said how there's nobody on his level.
07:57And he doesn't need Breaker, Bronson or Heyman.
08:00He actually meant that he'd chosen them rather than he was just using them to get himself
08:05to the top, but Bronson didn't seem to take it that way, subtly flashing a look of frustration
08:11that expertly paid off later on.
08:13Isn't Australia great?
08:14Look at all these fish in the sea that definitely won't kill you.
08:18The opening match was Dominik Mysterio defending his IC title against he's taking the world
08:22by Storm Penta.
08:24This was yet another great showing for Dom, who was really starting to connect with his
08:27lying, cheating, stealing babyface gimmick.
08:30He teased a 619, which the Aussies have been edging themselves for since AJ Styles blocked
08:34Cena's, and ended up winning with one with the ring bell hammer shoved down his boot.
08:39Asuka slapped Kairi Sane's bruised forehead for losing their crown jewel tag match, and
08:43then put her in a singles bout against Rhea Ripley, our second match of the night with
08:46a complex, non-traditional face vs face dynamic.
08:50Kairi is a face, because she doesn't want to fight Ripley and Io, but Asuka is bullying
08:55her into it.
08:56Rhea gave Sane lots of offence, but Io stopping Asuka's distraction let Ripley hit a riptide
09:00to win.
09:01Rhea has now beaten Kairi and Asuka in singles and tag competition, but the heels beat her
09:05and Io down afterwards, so I guess this feud must continue.
09:08Bronson Reed literally squashed, that's what a tsunami does, and already injured Jimmy
09:12Uso when Jimmy collapsed in the ring trying to lift Reed up.
09:15Breaker ran down for some extra spears afterwards, but Jey, despite saying they should concentrate
09:20on themselves earlier, made the save.
09:22There's still Uso tension though, and maybe Jey getting distracted by this cost him the
09:27number one contender's main event.
09:29Isn't Australia great?
09:31Look at all this beautiful scenery where you can die of thirst if your car breaks down there.
09:36I don't know how many more Lyra, Valkyria, Bayley, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez matches
09:40I can take.
09:41Lyra slapped Bayley near the end, which caused her to fire up and get them the win.
09:45What happened to the whole Roxanne seducing Dom story?
09:48Elise Perez looks like she's doing something different next.
09:50She interrupted Stephanie Vicar's celebration promo, hopefully setting up a title match
09:54there.
09:55Dominic accidentally got Adam Pearce to book the judgement day, finally defending their
09:59tag titles against AJ Styles and Dragon Lee next week.
10:02And the main event saw CM Punk beat LA Knight and Jey Uso in a good back and forth triple threat,
10:07which included a heartwarming crying fan for Punk's entrance.
10:10What a loser though, who cries at CM Punk.
10:13That's when The Vision came down, where Breaker speared so many people, he also took out his
10:17own leader.
10:18It was a great reveal, coming after the credits fake out spot, and just how conflicted everyone
10:23looked.
10:24It didn't seem like Breaker had given them a heads up.
10:27This was him deciding by himself.
10:29Heyman was shocked, and Bron told Bronson, make a choice, you go with me or not.
10:35Reid considered his options for a beat, and then tsunamied the reportedly injured Seth.
10:40Paul knows where his bread is buttered, so he raised both guys hands to close the show.
10:44Over the last month, Luke and I have been critical of Pulavec's glacial booking pace, and his
10:49reluctance to capitalise on momentum in favour of way too long safer builds.
10:54The Rock won his first WWF title when he was 26, two years after debuting.
11:00Bron is currently 28.
11:02No WWE World Champions had been born later than 1990.
11:06Roman Reigns, 40.
11:08Cody Rhodes, 40.
11:10CM Punk, 46.
11:12John Cena, 48.
11:14Even those that feel like new stars are actually in their late 30s.
11:18Gunther, 38.
11:19Jey Uso, 40.
11:21LA Knight, 42.
11:23This company is in desperate need of young top stars.
11:27And now with their hand being forced to push Breaker earlier than they had planned, hopefully
11:31he's the answer.
11:33This week's Raw is 88%.
11:35But what about Monday Night Raw?
11:38The series rages on with me vs Luke vs Dan and our first PLE Clash of the Castle.
11:44Where we watched the most frustrating computer played ladder match of all time.
11:49Click the link in the video description to watch it.
11:51Here's a clip.
