00:00All eyes turn toward the Eiffel Tower for WWE's first PLA in France.
00:05Je suis Tom Campbell de Cultaholic Wrestling et voici su casse, passe, or WWE Clash in Paris.
00:13We open with the tribal thief, Bronson Reed, taking on the tribal chief, Roman Reigns.
00:19The fans in France are loud and proud from the very start,
00:22with Roman and Bronson just drinking in the reaction for the first few minutes
00:26before eventually locking up.
00:28Roman tees off on Bronson after several failed shoulder block attempts,
00:32going for a Samoa drop early, but Bronson is just too big
00:37and comes crashing down onto the OTC to take control.
00:41Bronson drops Roman outside and it looks like he's planning something through the French announce table,
00:46but Roman battles back, driving Bronson into the ring post over and over again.
00:51Reigns begins stripping off the English-speaking announce table,
00:54but Bronson Reed, at speed, knocks Roman to the ground.
00:58Back in the ring, Roman attempts a rally, but Reed cuts him down with a slam before laying in the strikes.
01:05Reed bears down on Reigns, cutting off every comeback with an elbow to Roman's throat, first of all,
01:11and another with a snap Samoa drop.
01:14Bronson gets cocky.
01:16He begins parading the Shula Fala around the ring, giving Roman a window to get back into the fight,
01:21but he's once again halted as Reed unleashes his multiple headbutts to the fallen OTC.
01:27From here, Reed goes to steal Roman Reigns' shoes once again,
01:31but Roman battles off this attempted Jordan larceny and takes Reed down with a drive-by drop kick
01:37before shoving him into the steel steps.
01:40A Superman punch gets countered with a chokeslam, followed by a senton for a very near fall.
01:46Bronson gets a Death Valley driver countered with a crucifix pin,
01:49but Reed kicks out and lands the DVD, but only two is got.
01:55Big Bronson goes to dive through the ropes, but he gets his teeth rattled with a Superman punch,
02:00followed by a second in the ring, but it's only a two count.
02:04Ooh, ah, it's spear time.
02:06Roman launches, but he's cut off with a low drop kick
02:09and quickly caught with a crashing meat planet in the form of a suicide dive from Bronson Reed.
02:15A tsunami looks to seal the deal with zeal for Bronson, but Roman rolls out of the way,
02:21goes for a spear, but Bronson neutralizes it with a powerbomb for another near fall.
02:27Once more, Reed looks for a tsunami, but Reigns turns the tide,
02:32meeting him on the top rope and landing another Superman punch
02:35and a whopper of an avalanche Samoan drop.
02:38Reed staggers up, only to eat a spear, and the OTC gets the one, two, three.
02:46Post-match, Roman Reigns squares up to Paul Heyman, who begs for his very life
02:51and tries to reconcile by returning Roman's stolen shoes.
02:55But Roman gives Paul Heyman the King Louis XVI treatment
02:59with a guillotine in the centre of France.
03:02Roman signs and throws his shoes into the Parisian audience
03:05and does not see Bron Breaker on the approach,
03:09who proceeds to spear Roman Reigns through the announce table.
03:13Bron Bron helps the Oracle out of the ring and to the back,
03:16whilst agents and officials check over Roman Reigns.
03:19Jelly Roll, who is in the crowd, looks very upset by the whole thing.
03:22Reigns eventually starts to leave under his own strength,
03:25but he is speared again by top speed Bron Breaker.
03:29Reigns gets thrown back into the ring,
03:31where he receives a tsunami from Bronson Reed.
03:34Adam Pearce and more officials eventually try and get the vision away
03:38and out of the arena,
03:41as Roman Reigns is put on a backboard to be stretched away.
03:44But we're still not done.
03:46Reed charges back to the ring and unleashes another tsunami onto Roman Reigns,
03:51who is strapped to the backboard.
03:54Finally, Roman gets some backup,
03:56as Jey Uso hits the ring to send the vision packing.
03:59But he falls victim to a spear by Bron Breaker,
04:02as Bronson Reed hits another tsunami onto Roman Reigns.
04:07It's like they're going out of fashion.
04:08The ring, filled with French indie wrestlers, sorry, security,
04:13ultimately gets Bron Bron gone.
04:15Jey is hurt ahead of his fatal four-way match for the WWE world title,
04:20and Roman Reigns is being stretched out of the arena.
04:23An opening match that between entrances, fighting,
04:27and that final tsunami ate up almost a full hour of tonight's PLE.
04:34Bronson Reed and Bron Breaker are subsequently sent from the arena
04:38and told should they attempt to return,
04:41they will be suspended without pay by Raw GM Adam Pearce.
04:47Keep an eye on those two.
04:49With that, we go to a late addition to tonight's card,
04:51the Street Profits dressed as the Psychos from Borderlands 4,
04:55challenging the Wyatt Six dressed as creepy bastards
04:58for the WWE Tag Team Championships.
05:01A little bit of tension teased early on
05:03between Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins
05:05with a rather tense tag and a stare down
05:08after some tag team offense.
05:10Ford ends up getting rocked off the apron
05:12and sent crashing to the outside,
05:14giving Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis an opening in this one.
05:17They continue to break Ford down
05:20whilst Uncle Howdy, Eric Rowan, and Abby the Witch look on.
05:24Ford starts striking and comes within inches
05:26of making a hot tag to Dawkins
05:28before he's once again shut down by the champs.
05:31Montez finally gets a break
05:33when he suplexes Gacy on the apron.
05:35He eventually makes a big hot tag to Dawkins
05:38who lands a huge somersault sent on outside the ring
05:41onto Lumis and Gacy.
05:43Dawkins is a house of fire,
05:45taking the champions down before crashing down on Gacy
05:49with a swanton bomb for a two count.
05:53The Wyatts rally with a back suplex neck breaker combo
05:56for a near fall,
05:57but the Street Profits will quickly regain control
05:59when Dawkins hurls Lumis into a Ford back suplex.
06:03A Doomsday Blockbuster nearly wins it for the Profits,
06:06but Lumis is there to break up the cover.
06:09The champs catch their breath
06:10when Ford misses a frog splash,
06:12and Gacy drops Lumis onto Ford,
06:14only for Dawkins to drop Gacy onto Lumis
06:17to break up a pinfall attempt.
06:19It all spills outside,
06:21where Dawkins comes face-to-face with Erick Rowan,
06:24and the distraction allows Lumis to strike Dawkins
06:27and send him into the crowd.
06:28Ford dives over the top onto Rowan and Lumis,
06:31an incredible bit of aerial greatness to even the odds.
06:35Before Ford can make the cover, though,
06:36he has his leg grabbed by Abby the Witch
06:39from under the ring.
06:40It leaves him wide open for a sister Abigail
06:42from Uncle Howdy,
06:43and moments later,
06:45the match-winning suplex powerbomb combo.
06:49It's a Wyatt-assisted three for the Wyatt Six,
06:52who are still the WWE Tag Team Champions.
06:58The women's Intercontinental title is on the line.
07:02WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella
07:04challenging the WIC champ Becky Lynch.
07:08Nikki comes out swinging,
07:10striking Lynch and dropping her out of the ring.
07:13Becky tries to get back in,
07:14but Nikki keeps pushing her out.
07:16She misses a baseball slide, though,
07:18which gives Lynch the leverage.
07:20Becky drops Nikki into the barricade
07:22before dropping off Brett's rope
07:24with a leg drop for a two count.
07:27Nikki takes a pasting from here,
07:29with Bella attempting a comeback with forearms,
07:32only to get halted by a Lynch lariat.
07:35All big-time Becks,
07:37until Bella repels a corner kick,
07:39after which both Becky and Nikki
07:41start striking with reckless abandon.
07:44Nikki unloads with clotheslines and a dropkick
07:47before landing a baseball slide to the outside
07:50and bouncing Becky's head and hands
07:52off both the announce tables
07:54for a prolonged period of time.
07:56The Bella barrage stops
07:58when Nikki goes for a springboard kick off the rope
08:00and comes nowhere near Becky Lynch.
08:04This gives Lynch a brief opening
08:05before the two go back and forth
08:07with more strikes and rack attack attempts.
08:09The two end up scrapping on the top rope
08:11until Lynch lands a superplex
08:13for a near fall
08:15straight into an armbar on Nikki.
08:18Bella breaks it with a pinfall attempt
08:19and then locks in what Michael Cole calls
08:22the fearless lock.
08:23It's the STFU,
08:25which the French crowd boo.
08:27But she doesn't quite get a tap out.
08:30Nikki is able to counter a disarmer
08:32shortly after this
08:33with an electric chair drop.
08:36Manhandle slam countered into a fearless lock,
08:38STFU,
08:39which Becky is able to escape with a rope break.
08:42She then rolls to the outside for some respite.
08:44Nikki follows her
08:45and ends up being driven headfirst
08:47into the steel steps.
08:48She goes for a manhandle slam onto the steps,
08:51but Nikki is able to counter it,
08:54driving Becky's head into the ring post
08:56and dropping her with an X-factor
08:58onto the steel.
09:00In the ring,
09:01Nikki doesn't quite get a rack attack,
09:02but she does get a manhandle slam
09:04onto the man for a two count.
09:07She follows up with a disarmer,
09:08but Becky breaks it,
09:10pushing Nikki into the ropes
09:11and catching her off the rebound
09:13with a backslide for the three count
09:15to retain the championship.
09:18A scrappy affair, shall we say,
09:20that ends with the man still the man.
09:23Backstage,
09:26Jey Uso is asked by Adam Pearce
09:27if he's good to go
09:28for the fatal four-way for the world title
09:30following that spear he took from Bron Breaker.
09:32Of course he is.
09:34He's more determined than ever
09:35to bring home the world title.
09:38Yeet, etc.
09:39And with that,
09:40it is time for a good old-fashioned Donny Brook.
09:43Rusev takes on Sheamus.
09:46It all kicked off before the match started
09:48as Wade Barrett's cough button stopped working,
09:50and it sounded like he burped down the microphone.
09:53I'll leave that for Ross Tweddle
09:55to have some fun with on WTF Moments this week
09:59at patreon.com forward slash cultaholic.
10:02Rusev and Sheamus start teeing off on one another
10:04inside and very soon outside the ring.
10:07Sheamus sets up the first Slender James table of the night
10:10with Rusev setting up one shortly after.
10:14They park them for later on in the match
10:16as Rusev cracks Sheamus with a cacophony of kendo stick shots
10:20before using Sheamus' own beats at the Bodron
10:23on the Celtic Warrior.
10:25Sheamus retaliates with an Irish cursed backbreaker
10:27and some kendo cracks of his own.
10:30He uses this window to bring an assortment of steel chairs
10:33into the ring as well.
10:34Before he can use them,
10:36Rusev floors him with a spinning heel kick.
10:38Hoisted by his own seating,
10:41Rusev uses the steel chairs that Sheamus brought in
10:44across the back of Sheamus before pressing L1
10:47to wedge one of the chairs into the corner.
10:50Sheamus begins absorbing kicks from Rusev,
10:52begging him to keep them coming
10:54before cracking Rusev with a running knee
10:56and busting out his own beats of the Bodron.
10:59Outside the ring,
11:00Rusev sends Sheamus over the bar,
11:02but Sheamus is fighting back
11:04with more beats of the Bodron
11:06over the bloody bar.
11:08Rusev tries to exit through the crowd,
11:10only to get stopped and given more beats of the Bodron
11:14with a shillelagh assistance this time.
11:17Rusev attempts to retaliate back in the ring,
11:19but he gets driven into that steel chair
11:21he wedged earlier,
11:23followed by a Celtic cross for a very near fall.
11:27Rusev ducks out the ring to avoid a brogue kick
11:30and Sheamus follows up
11:31with an uncharacteristic dive outside,
11:34only to be met with a kendo stick to the guts
11:37and a ride into the steel steps.
11:40Rusev cracks the steps off Sheamus' head
11:42and proceeds to put Sheamus through the bar
11:45with a uranage.
11:47The bar is no longer open
11:49and Rusev calls last orders
11:51by locking in the accolade back in the ring.
11:54Sheamus isn't done though,
11:56as he powers to his feet
11:58and drops Rusev onto a pair of steel chairs
12:01to break it up.
12:02Out the ring once more they go.
12:04Sheamus and Rusev ascending the whiskey barrels
12:06at ringside where Rusev reapplies the accolade.
12:10Sheamus once more powers up to break the hold,
12:13blocks a uranage attempt
12:15and drops Rusev off the barrels
12:17and through the tables with white noise.
12:21Both men drag themselves back into the ring
12:24with Rusev taking possession of Sheamus' shillelagh.
12:28Rusev swings,
12:29but Sheamus blocks it with a brogue kick
12:31right to the temple of Rusev
12:33for a 2.9 count.
12:36A set of Rusev match kick kicks follow
12:38and a strike across the back with a shillelagh
12:40that actually breaks the damn thing,
12:43but it still doesn't keep Sheamus down.
12:46But an accolade with the remnants of the shillelagh
12:49gets it done,
12:50with Sheamus tapping out
12:52to give the Bulgarian Brute
12:54the good old-fashioned Donny Brook dub.
12:58The penultimate match of the night
13:00sees Logan Paul
13:02versus the never-seen 17 John Cena.
13:06Earth-shattering pop for John
13:08as he walks out in Paris
13:10for one final time.
13:12After an early feeling-out process
13:14with headlocks and tests of strength,
13:17Paul stomps on Cena's foot
13:19and punches him in the guts
13:20to take the lead.
13:21Paul clatters Cena
13:22with punches to the midsection
13:24and Cena attempts to get back
13:26into the match,
13:27but Logan Paul stops the comeback
13:28with a well-placed boot to the face.
13:31John gets an opening
13:32when he dodges a bit of Paul pugilism
13:34with a clothesline and some strikes,
13:36but once more,
13:37Cena's fight back is halted
13:39when Logan Paul busts John Cena's block
13:41with a blockbuster.
13:43We get a new chant for John Cena
13:44during this match as well.
13:46The French crowd giving us
13:47John Cena!
13:48La la la la la.
13:49It's an homage to Live Is Life
13:52by Austrian band Opus.
13:54It was a song later covered by Stargo
13:55to great success
13:56and a few other people as well.
13:58But that's beside the point.
13:59The story of the match
14:00is Logan Paul keeping John Cena
14:02grounded at every turn.
14:04A running punch to the corner
14:05by Logan gets countered by John
14:07and he activates his moves of doom,
14:10complete with the
14:11thank-knuckle shuffle.
14:13However, the attitude adjustment
14:15is countered by Logan Paul,
14:17maneuvering onto the apron
14:17and coming off with a buckshot lariat
14:19for a two count.
14:21Cena counters the Paul
14:22from Grace with knees to the guts
14:24and lands the AA,
14:25but Paul gets the shoulder up.
14:27Logan Paul flips out of another AA
14:29and locks big match John
14:31into the octopus.
14:32John attempts to counter it
14:33with another AA,
14:34but Paul rolls him up,
14:35but John turns that roll up
14:37into an STFU.
14:39Logan Paul makes the ropes.
14:41John Cena drags him back to the center,
14:43but it gives Logan Paul an opportunity
14:45to avoid the STFU a second time.
14:47However, he does not avoid a Tornado DDT,
14:50yet he is able to kick out at two once again.
14:53Another attempt at an attitude adjustment,
14:55but this time,
14:56Logan Paul reverses it with an alley-oop.
14:59The old Big Show finisher from 0-1
15:01for another near fall.
15:03Cena starts rolling back,
15:04more moves of doom,
15:06but Logan stops the rot
15:07with Dolph Ziggler's zigzag.
15:09Paul goes for another buckshot lariat.
15:11John Cena counters
15:13with Baron Corbin's bloody end of days.
15:16When your finisher doesn't get it done,
15:18just spam everyone else's.
15:20That becomes the story of this match.
15:23AA countered again
15:24with a swanton bomb
15:26and a standing mood salt from Logan Paul,
15:29just getting a two count.
15:30Logan sizes up Cena
15:31for a corner running uppercut.
15:34Cena moves out of the way,
15:35hits a Tiger driver for a two count.
15:38More back and forth strikes
15:40sees Logan Paul land
15:41a Claudio pop-up uppercut
15:44for two.
15:45Paul, with a bloody cut on his cheek,
15:47busts out John Cena's shoulder blocks
15:50and blue thunder bomb,
15:51but waits too long
15:53to hit the five-knuckle shuffle,
15:54eats another AA,
15:56but kicks out again.
15:58Back to the back and forth strikes
16:00until Cena hits a Hurricanrana
16:02and a code red called on commentary
16:04as Roxanne Perez's pop rocks.
16:07Another AA is avoided
16:08and Paul cracks Cena flush
16:10with that titanium-loaded right hand,
16:13but it only gets a two count.
16:15Logan Paul kips up
16:17and hits a four from Grace
16:18in two different corners,
16:21but it is still only two.
16:24Logan Paul hits a five-knuckle shuffle
16:25to the air near John Cena's head.
16:28It leads to an AA attempt
16:29reversed by Cena
16:30into a Styles clash.
16:33A phenomenal chant
16:34from the crowd in France
16:36kicks off after this as well,
16:38but it only gets a two count.
16:40At this point,
16:40this is not so much a match
16:42and more just the finisher selection menu
16:44from the 2K games.
16:45The end comes when Logan Paul
16:46comes off the top
16:47with a crossbody
16:48and Cena catches him in mid-air
16:50and hits an attitude adjustment.
16:52He absorbs a titanium right hand
16:54from Logan Paul,
16:55rebounds off the ropes
16:57almost on instinct,
16:58hits a second AA
17:00and gets the decisive
17:02one, two, three.
17:04John Cena celebrates
17:05with the adulation
17:06of the French crowd
17:07before heading ringside
17:08to see the fan
17:10that he insulted
17:11during his heel run
17:12give his wife, Shea,
17:14a big old kiss
17:15and take a moment
17:16to hug Jelly Roll
17:17and Post Malone.
17:19A match filled with surprises,
17:21but I feel like
17:21we left a lot on the table.
17:23I was waiting for Logan Paul
17:24to hit Grado's wee boot
17:25or John Cena
17:26to hit a peri-satin-moss-covered
17:28three-handled
17:29family credenza.
17:32With that,
17:33we come to the main event
17:34of the evening
17:35for the WWE World
17:36Heavyweight Championship.
17:38The challengers,
17:39Jey Uso,
17:40L.A. Knight
17:42and CM Punk,
17:44the champion,
17:45Seth freaking Rollins.
17:47Punk kicks Jey Uso
17:49square in the chops
17:50to start us off.
17:51Rollins takes a powder
17:52and L.A. Knight
17:53gives Punk
17:53a sneaky roll-up for two.
17:55It's Punk and Knight
17:56going at it in the ring
17:57with Rollins rushing the ring
17:59the moment their backs
18:00are turned
18:01to take down Knight.
18:03Uso re-enters the fray
18:04with a crossbody
18:05and clotheslines Rollins
18:07out of the ring.
18:08He goes for a dive,
18:09but Punk takes him down.
18:10Punk throws Uso into the corner
18:12and at this point
18:13Rollins pulls Punk
18:14from the ring
18:15and throws him
18:16into the crowd.
18:17Rollins then hits Jey Uso
18:18with Punk's signature
18:19corner attack,
18:21the cheeky boy.
18:22Here Knight returns
18:23and we get a yeet
18:24yeah pinball
18:26on Rollins
18:27until Seth gets
18:28knocked out of the ring
18:29and we get Jey
18:30and Knight
18:30going mano a mano.
18:32Jey goes for a corner attack
18:33and Seth Rollins
18:35stops him
18:35jumping in
18:36and hitting Jey's
18:38signature corner attack
18:40instead
18:40the cheeky boy.
18:42Soon enough
18:42all four men
18:43are back in the ring
18:44and the challengers
18:45turn their attention
18:46to the champion.
18:47Seth Rollins
18:47getting a three-on-one
18:49shooing at this point.
18:50Knight and Punk
18:51end up arguing
18:52over who gets to
18:53beat up Rollins next.
18:54Ultimately
18:55they decide to team up
18:56before Knight
18:57encourages the lads
18:58to put him
18:59through a table.
19:00Punk even tells Jey
19:01to get the tables.
19:03Once the table
19:04is arranged
19:05Jey super kicks
19:06CM Punk
19:06and Knight
19:07clotheslines Rollins
