00:00Political alliances are nothing new in Malaysia.
00:04And in Sabah, friend can turn into foe and back again in the blink of an eye,
00:10often driven by short-term gain rather than lasting synergy.
00:13The recent exit of party solidarity Tanah Airku and the Sabah Progressive Party
00:18from the Gabungan Rakia at Sabah Coalition
00:20is just the latest in a long line of fractures the state has seen.
00:25Now, tensions are rising between GRS and its ally, Sabah Pakatan Harapan.
00:32GRS has offered Sabah PH the opportunity to contest for 18 of 73 seats at the upcoming state election.
00:40PH, however, wants 23.
00:43That is despite its components, PGR, DAP and UPCO,
00:47having only held seven seats in the recently dissolved state assembly.
00:51Sabahans think the Peninsula-based coalition may be overstating its influence in the state.
00:58Its push for a larger seat share also risks being perceived as federal overreach
01:04and may trigger a backlash,
01:06with the Sabah for Sabahans sentiment increasingly entrenched in the state.
01:11Meanwhile, Warisan President Shafi'i Abdal continues to insist that his party will contest the polls on its own,
01:18but whispers of a rekindled post-election alliance with UMNO are going louder to the dismay of many Sabahants.
01:26Having broken away from UMNO in 2016,
01:29Warisan railed against Barisan National's legacy of neglect and painted itself as Sabah's autonomous voice.
01:36A reunion with the Malayan-based party risks compromising its newly launched Safe Sabah Pledge.
01:42In contrast, GRS, under Hadidji Noor's leadership,
01:47has cultivated a reputation for stability, prioritizing governance, and winning investor confidence.
01:54As Sabah heads towards its 17th election,
01:57voters must choose between a steady GRS-PH partnership grounded in compromise
02:03and a risky Warisan-UMNO reunion built on expediency.
02:07To whom will Sabahans entrust the next five years?
02:11So I can't speak to you because I'm more likely to love you.
02:11So I wanna play more than anything I will let you see on my own website.
02:16So let's try to go.
02:20Don't get your way.
02:24After all, I want you today.
02:26Awesome.
02:26It's gotta be great.
02:38So I can relax.
