00:06elections, as this is a formula from a past era, says former Sabah Chief Minister Salih Saeed Kuruwak.

00:13Commenting on BN's plan to rebrand ahead of the 16th general election, Salih said this must be

00:18focused on strategies and not the number of seats it contests. He added that modern politics revolves

00:24around coalitions, negotiations and strategic partnerships, where strength is defined by the

00:29ability to form stable governments instead of contesting the most seats. The Sabah UMNO treasurer

00:36said the decision to rebrand BN was timely given how Malaysia's political landscape has changed.

00:42However, he warned against the rebrand being a mere cosmetic affair, saying it must be a

00:48reflection of a distinct shift in mindset, strategy and culture within the coalition.

00:54Yesterday, BN Secretary-General Zambri Abdul Qadir said the coalition plan to

00:59rebrand itself as more progressive and inclusive as part of efforts to streamline preparations

01:04for upcoming elections. Earlier today, Malaysia Keeney quoted sources as saying that BN intends

01:10to contest at least 115 parliamentary seats in GE16 to enable the coalition to lead the federal

01:16government.
