00:00Breslow and something he said with regard to the team's need for a number two starter. I think this
00:07is one of the biggest needs on the team. They've got to put someone behind Garrett Crochet that
00:13allows Crochet some margin for error and at the same time allows Brian Baio and whoever's behind
00:21him, Peyton Toley, Connolly Early, whoever ends up behind Baio, the wiggle room to develop at his
00:29own pace. I think we saw at the end of the year, Baio still lacks some of the qualities of a true
00:34number two starter. So again, the question to Breslow here is, will a number two starter be
00:41at or near the top of your list? Best rotation we possibly can. And at times through the year,
00:47you could say Baio pitched like a number two because he did, or Lucas pitched like a number
00:51two because he did, or Connolly Early pitched like a number two because he did. But I'll go back to,
00:55you know, the question about, do you rely on the pitching that you have in-house or do you seek
01:00to try and improve it? I think the answer is you always look to improve and get as much pitching
01:05depth as you possibly can. Okay. Overall, right answer. It's the right answer. But I will also say
01:12that what I don't like at the end is you try to improve your pitching depth. I don't think the
01:17Red Sox necessarily have to improve their depth. I mean, certainly they, that always is a goal.
01:22And I'm talking about people like Hunter Dobbins, Richard Fitz, Early, because I don't think Early
01:29is a front end kind of guy, but he's a serviceable, it feels like a serviceable big league pitcher.
01:34And I say the same for Tolley. I think his ceiling's a little higher, but the Red Sox have
01:39lots of options or lots of guys who came in this year and pitched. Certainly they need to improve
01:44that. What they need to improve is their high end pitching. Look at the Yankees, look at the Blue
01:50Jays. They both have better rotations and it should be pointed out that both of those teams
01:55had young starters make big, big contributions in the post season.
