00:02I love doing this show, The Early Line, with my guy, Joe Ranieri.

00:06Because sometimes we say, let's handicap, let's break down games,

00:08let's give the people the information that they want.

00:10But every once in a while, you've got to stop on a story and be like,

00:12I think we told you so in this.

00:14And this is North Carolina.

00:16Bill Belichick goes to Carolina, Chapel Bill, and he's going to turn this around.

00:20We're going to have a pro-style offense, pro-style defense.

00:24Everybody's going to want to play for Bill Belichick.

00:26It's going to be a dream in the making.

00:27Bill Belichick's going to make a lot of money.

00:29He's going to steal money for his kid to be on staff.

00:31He's going to bring ahead Mike Lombardi, who's one of the worst GMs

00:34and professional intel guys you can have, to run a college football program as a GM.

00:39And look what we see now.

00:41The Tar Heels are terrible.

00:42And when everybody was jumping on board,

00:44and we're going to talk about the Hulu deal in a moment, Joe.

00:46But do you remember opening night at home?

00:49Michael Jordan was in the building.

00:50It was a sold-out crowd.

00:52ESPN is like, we're going to move heaven and earth to make sure

00:55you have your own primetime slot here.

00:58Because we can't get enough of Chapel Bill.

01:01We're going to have the college football guys in town.

01:03It's going to be such a big night.

01:04And that place was emptying out, Earl, like, oh, my God.

01:08North Carolina got got at this point.

01:11It's been nothing short of a disaster.

01:14And now they're trying to say, hey, hold on for next year when we recruit more freshmen.

01:18You've got to be kidding me right now.

01:20And Hulu has now dropped the documentary.

01:23Why?

01:24Because nobody would want to watch it.

01:25And by the way, I think people would just hate watching and be like, yeah,

01:28let's watch them win four games and how embarrassing it is.

01:31Hulu cut bait.

01:32The fans cut bait.

01:34Oh, North Carolina, what a mistake you made.

01:38Well, they did too, Donnie.

01:40And here's the thing.

01:41This isn't the pros, right?

01:43I mean, owners hold all the power and leverage, right?

01:47So if the, let's say, Jerry Jones decides that, you know what, you're done, I'm finished.

01:53You know, he goes to the couch cushions, he rips up, you know, he rips out a couple of

01:57million dollars, pays the guy, says, see you later, I'll bring in whoever I want.

02:01You can't do that in college here, Donnie.

02:04That's not how it works.

02:06There are reports of at least $25 million on salaries were signed off on this year for

02:14Belichick and his staff.

02:16And quite honestly, that's probably on the low end.

02:19Who are we kidding?

02:20Increased recruiting budgets, marketing, all the stuff.

02:24I mean, this is, we're talking about tons of money that has been dumped here.

02:28You just can't cut ties now.

02:31I mean, you're talking about a payout that would be north of 20 million plus just for him.

02:37But the problem is now you've got the board of trustees, you've got a GM, you've got all

02:43these layers of red tape that you will have to go through.

02:46None of it is easy.

02:48The bottom line is North Carolina, you made your bed with Bill Belichick.

02:52And congratulations, you're going to have to sleep in it for quite a while.

02:55Let's go.
