00:00But how does that affect potentially other programs, most notably within the ACC?

00:05And we'll start with Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels,

00:09the most winning and probably tenured head coach in all of the NFL, right?

00:14You just think about the fanfare and the hype that Bill Belichick brought

00:18North Carolina in the offseason, six Super Bowls.

00:22The thought that he was taking over for Mack Brown to potentially lead this team

00:26to an ACC championship in a college football playoff appearance,

00:30how does that affect Bill Belichick's tenure potentially in Chapel Hill moving forward?

00:37Too soon. It's too soon to affect his position.

00:39Now, I would say this.

00:41If somewhere the season went completely south and Bill Belichick looked up at night and said,

00:46you know what, this hasn't worked out for North Carolina.

00:49It hasn't worked out for me.

00:51Let's agree on some kind of agreeable buyout.

00:54It would have to come from him.

00:55There's no way they're going to turn around and not say, okay, let's give him more than one year.

01:00They've got too much invested in Bill Belichick.

01:04I mean, but there are other jobs, I think, that will look at their program very closely

01:09and say, are we getting a return on our investment?

01:12You know, we're putting this much money into it.

01:15And, of course, Florida State, Auburn, there are other schools, LSU last year kind of,

01:21where they're paying these big, big dollars with big buyouts.

01:25And they're now seeing, well, if Penn State made that commitment to moving forward,

01:31maybe we should too.

01:32But he was there, what, 10 years?

01:34He did have a long tenure there.

01:36Belichick's got a one year there.

01:39Nothing I think he could do would make them walk away from him.

01:42He would have to say, you know what, I've let everybody down, or we just haven't got going

01:47where we want to go.

01:48A similar situation that could be made to James Franklin, to Dabo Sweeney, right?

01:54You're talking about a team that made the college football playoff last year.

01:57They were 1-3.

01:58They're back to .500 at 3-3 overall.

02:00But they're on the outside looking in.

02:03They would need a miracle just to get back into the mix to challenge for an ACC championship.

02:08But potentially, if they lose four or five wins this year, and you see Dabo right now

02:14seventh in the conference, is Clemson in line to potentially make a move?

02:19No, I don't.

02:20Again, I spent two years with Dabo a couple of years ago as an analyst, and I know him

02:25personally.

02:26You know, he was on my brother's staff there.

02:28In Dabo's mind, there's no doubt in his mind he's going to get that program turned around.

02:34It might not be a great year this year.

02:36And he's proven that he can win a national championship.

02:40He's proven that he can win a big game.

02:43Now, it may get so uncomfortable.

02:45If it went all the way south, who knows what would happen.

02:48But I don't see that happen.

02:50We already see Clemson starting to climb back up.

02:53And I guess I know him personally, and I know what a fighter and what a good head coach

02:59he is.

03:00I would be shocked if he didn't feel like he could get this thing heading in the right

03:04direction this year.

03:06And so I couldn't imagine him losing the next four games and it being like that.

03:11But I see them getting themselves into a bowl this year.

03:14And then him, I think what it's done is made him, guys like him, look at the NIL, the portal

03:21and say, OK, are we doing enough?

03:23Whereas Mike Norvell at Florida State, the discussions down there, is he too much into

03:30the portal?

03:31Is he depending too much on guys that don't care when the program goes south?

03:36And when you make that kind of money, it begs those kind of questions.

03:39Press he in a section.

03:46He cuts into the portal and a lot of spoilers.

03:49Then you will ask a lot of spoilers about him.
