00:00And then last night, with the Yankees season about to come to a crushing end,
00:05down 6-1 in the fourth inning,
00:08and you get some pathetically bad defensive plays
00:11from the Toronto Blue Jays to open up the door.
00:16Number 99 said, I'm your Huckleberry.
00:19And he decides to flex, and he flexes on a two-strike pitch,
00:23high and inside, and takes the ball 350 feet.
00:27There you go right there, hitting the foul pole, tying the game at 6-6,
00:33and saving not just the Yankees season.
00:37They went on to win last night's game, of course, 9-6.
00:40It was Jazz Chisholm that gets to break the go-ahead home run a little bit later on in the game.
00:46But he saves the Yankees season, and at the very same time,
00:50now has the signature Yankee moment.
00:54If they lose tonight, they won't.
00:57If they lose on Friday, Game 5, against Toronto, they might.
01:01At least Aaron Judge will go to bed and wake up the next morning
01:04knowing we can no longer say he's not clutch.
01:09He has now had his legacy-defining postseason moment.
01:16And oh, by the way, now that we have played a handful of games in the postseason,
01:21Aaron Judge is batting .500.
01:25Excuse me?
01:26That's right.
01:27A power hitter who hits 50-plus from runs damn near every year,
01:32who hit one .350 yesterday to save the Yankee season,
01:36is also batting .500.
01:39I believe that's some sort of postseason record.
01:41You can check me on that.
01:42Google it.
01:43Chat G. Petit.
01:44And get back to me.
01:45But now there's nothing left to say.
01:48Aaron Judge could go 0-4 tonight and embarrass himself up at the dish,
01:52and he's now at least had the moment.
01:55He has single-handedly saved the Yankee season.
01:59And while I say single-handedly,
02:01I kind of want to retract that just for a second,
02:03because there's somebody else that also deserves credit
02:06for the New York Yankees surviving last night,
02:09looked completely listless.
02:11Carlos Rodon was terrible, as a lot of Yankee fans expected.
02:14Can't really trust him in a big spot.
02:16Had a great year, big spot.
02:18He reverts back to being the guy you can't trust, right?
02:21Anthony Volpe, only guy in the roster, can't connect back to ball.
02:24I guess 10 different relievers last night.
02:28But there is a guy who might have been fired, frankly,
02:32had the New York Yankees lost to the Blue Jays
02:35and been swept in the ALDS.
02:37It wouldn't have been a deserving firing.
02:39But I know the Yankee mob, the fan base of the Yankees,
02:41would have gone on local radio day in and day out
02:45demanding that this man be fired.
02:48But how about a little love?
02:49How about just a teeny bit, a little respect
02:51from my guy, personal friend, Aaron Boone.
02:55Because last night, we were privy to
02:59an absolute master class
03:04when it comes to managing a baseball game.
03:07And I'm going to give you a great comparison
03:09between the two managers, okay?
03:12Aaron Boone pulls Carlos Rodon
03:14with one out in the third inning, okay?
03:16The New York Yankees are in big, fat trouble here
03:19because they're now down 6-1, right?
03:22Yep.
03:23And he goes to Cruz in the third,
03:25gets an inning and a third out of Cruz,
03:28who only gives up a single hit, no runs.
03:31Then he comes back with Doval,
03:33a guy no one is familiar with
03:35because he never pitches, right?
03:37Doval gives you an inning of one hit ball,
03:40no runs scored.
03:41Then he goes to Timmy Hill.
03:44Hill gives you,
03:45on the inning and a third,
03:46gets the win last night,
03:47no hits, no runs, nothing.
03:50Then after Hill,
03:51he goes to Devin Williams.
03:53Devin Williams gives you,
03:55on the inning and a third,
03:58no runs scored.
03:59And then he brings in Bednar to close it out,
04:02one and two thirds.
04:03And again, no runs scored.
04:05That's one, two, three, four, five,
04:08six different pitchers,
04:09five after Rodon,
04:11and you had to get
04:12six and two thirds of an inning
04:14out of your bullpen
04:16and not give up a single run.
04:18And Aaron Bood managed that perfectly.
04:22That was a PhD level masterclass
04:24and how to manage a bullpen.
04:26Right.
04:27Amen.
04:27Thank you so much.
