00:00With Jacksonville joining the ranks of 4-1, there are seven teams that are 4-1 in the NFL.
00:06You want to pull out a pen and rank them? Power rank the 4-1 teams?
00:10Already done, yeah.
00:11Okay, so the 4-1 teams are the Detroit Lions, this is the NFC teams, the Detroit Lions, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Tampa Bay Bucs, and the San Francisco 49ers.
00:22Then three teams in the AFC, Jacksonville, the Colts, and the Buffalo Bills.
00:27My first reaction is, if you had told me after week five that two teams in the AFC South would be 4-1, I'd punch you in the face.
00:36I'm going to punch you in the face, and I'm going to tell you, I don't want you to watch a football game again, because that's banana land.
00:43You would have said, okay, it's Houston and who?
00:46Exactly, exactly, and they're not even one of them.
00:49Right.
00:49In fact, they don't even have a winning record, they're 2-3.
00:52But yeah, here are the Jags and the Colts, both at 4-1.
00:54So I don't know, how would you stack these guys up?
00:58Well, do you want me to go from one all the way down to seven, or seven all the way up to one?
01:02I've got to go seven to one.
01:03Okay.
01:03You can't, like, unveil the big thing and then just kind of go to the small thing.
01:07All right.
01:07You've got to go the other way around.
01:08Well, then I start at the bottom, and I'm here, and my seventh ranked 4-1 team is the San Francisco 49ers.
01:16I've got them at the seventh best of the seven 4-1 teams.
01:19Nothing's fluky in the NFL.
01:22When you win, you win.
01:23When you lose, you lose.
01:24But I don't know if what I've seen, and I've watched every game three times, I still don't know how they're 4-1.
01:30And so, yeah, I got them at number seven.
01:33Number six is only ahead of the Niners because they beat the Niners, and I give them credit for that.
01:37It's Jacksonville.
01:39I don't know how Jacksonville's 4-1, and I watched last night, and that thing was kind of a platter game.
01:44My home's with a 99-yard pick six the other way.
01:48Jacksonville, to me, is they're pretty good, but they're not this good.
01:53On number five, I've got Tampa Bay, largely because of injury, and this game on Sunday is going to be a really interesting 4-1 matchup.
02:01Tampa's hurt.
02:02The Niners are hurt.
02:03It's in Tampa.
02:04Not a real tough place to play as far as road destinations go, but it's a long way away, so that one will be interesting.
02:11I've got Indy at four, and they might be a little bit low on my list, but it's because I'm in love with my number three team, which is Detroit.
02:19They lost both coordinators, but my God, Mark, that offense is something else.
02:23That offense can score with anybody and on anybody.
02:28They're biting kneecaps, and I think that they're really, really legit.
02:31I got Philly at two.
02:32Part of it's a hat tip to them being defending champs, and they've also been a little smoke-and-mirrors-y with the way they've won games,
02:39and then they got actually bit this last weekend in kind of a similar fashion.
02:43For me, it's not even close.
02:45Buffalo's the best 4-1 team in football.
02:47Okay, that's interesting.
02:49It's my 7.
02:49Yeah, we got a lot of differences in the way we played this out, and again, another window into the fact that your brain and Stiney's brain do have some overlap,
02:58because he had the Niners at 7 as well.
03:00Won't shock you when I tell you that I don't.
03:02I have the Jacksonville Jaguars at the 7 position.
03:07I'm not going to make this like college football or tiebreakers just because the Jags won one football game against the Niners.
03:13It doesn't mean they automatically have to sit ahead of them.
03:16This is my eye test, and when I'm looking at a team that has been blessed with really, really good health,
03:21I know their tight end went on IR today, but they've been blessed with really, really good health,
03:26and just watching who they've beat and the way they've beaten them and the performance of their quarterback,
03:33which, as you put it, with Liam Cohn, he looks better, and I'm like, not that much.
03:38Like, he throws a lot of balls to the wrong place, the wrong space.
03:42The wrong team.
03:43Yeah, it just, ah, it's not, anyway, I see them as number 7.
03:49Number 6, I am going to go with the Tampa Bay Bucs, and here's why.
03:54And this is one of the reasons why I'm optimistic about the 49ers' chances this weekend.
03:58You've got Kyle Shanahan, an elite play caller, going against the team that has given up the third most points in the NFC.
04:06Did you all know that?
04:07The Tampa Bay Bucs have given up the third most points in the entire NFC.
04:13They are 4-1, but the only teams who have given up more points than them are the New Orleans Saints and the Dallas Cowboys.
04:21That's the list.
04:22And the Saints have only given up three more points than the Bucs.
04:26You can move the ball on these guys.
04:28The problem is, is no one's been able to stop them, and Baker's amazing with the ball in his hands and less than two minutes to go.
04:35So the Niners would be smart to avoid that scenario.
04:38We'll see if they can, but I think Tampa is kind of a one-trick pony.
04:42Really good trick.
04:43One-trick pony.
04:44I've got them at 6.
04:45Niners come in at number 5 for me because I look at it maybe differently than you do,
04:50which is they're 4-1.
04:53I don't know how they are 4-1, and I don't even know who they are yet.
04:57And for me, as opposed to knocking them down for that, I'm going to build them up for that.
05:02I know they're better than what we've seen already, simply by getting some of their people back.
05:07So to be 4-1 with this group tells me you're being coached at an elite level, and yes, you have a very competent backup,
05:19or two or three or four, in certain spots around the field.
05:22Mack Jones, Kendrick Bourne, Demarcus Robinson, etc.
05:27I'm going to elevate you for that.
05:28You come in at number 5.
05:29For me, I wonder why you said, I love Detroit so much, so I put them at 3.
05:35Just a little preview, I'm going to put them way higher than that.
05:38Philadelphia is at number 4 for me.
05:41They're obviously the champs, and they're very, very good.
05:46But I smell a problem with the Philadelphia Eagles.
05:49Ooh, this again.
05:50You were right last time, a couple years ago.
05:52Their receiving core is playing with fire.
05:55You win this many games in a row, and you complain, and then you get placated, and then you lose a football game because of it.
06:04I smell something that threatens to strip that team.
06:10It hasn't yet, but a 17-3 lead in the fourth quarter at home, and then you never score again and blow that game,
06:18is step one, and don't forget, first place schedule, etc.
06:21They're very, very good, but I'm going to put them at number 4.
06:24I am a complete believer in the Indianapolis Colts.
06:27They are trucking people.
06:29They're playing well on both sides of the football.
06:32They have had good teams on their schedule.
06:35They've played the Rams.
06:36I know they lost, but they were toe-to-toe with them.
06:38They played the Broncos.
06:39They beat that team.
06:40So there are some tests in there that they've passed.
06:43I've got the Colts at 3.
06:44For me, I know you said they're definitely the best.
06:48I don't see it that way.
06:49Oh, wow.
06:49I've got Buffalo at number 2.
06:51Look at you.
06:52I think Buffalo's defense has not shown me anything that suggests they're a great defense at all.
06:59They've got Josh Allen.
07:01They've got Josh Allen, and they've got James Cook, and they are a very, very good football team.
07:06But you can move the ball on them.
07:09Drake May did it in their building on Sunday night football.
07:12Some of their games have been a little bit closer than I thought they should have.
07:15They're phenomenal.
07:16But to me, if you want to see dominance, you watch the Detroit Lions play football.
07:20I know they came out of the gate at Lambeau and laid an egg, but I don't think they've broken a sweat since then.
07:26And they've had some real teams on the schedule, including, at the time, Sunday night in Baltimore with a healthy Ravens team was a real deal.
07:36And so, to me, that's the team that would scare me the most is the Detroit Lions.
07:43So, they're my one seed right now.
07:44Interesting.
07:45Yeah.
07:45You and I have the same bottom three in different orders.
07:49And I have Philly at two.
07:51You have them at four.
07:52But otherwise, we are not too far off.
07:54And interesting about Detroit, because I think we're going to start to get a real test for them.
08:00You've got, as mentioned, the Chiefs in prime time at Kansas City.
08:05You've got Tampa at home.
08:07You have a bye.
08:08You go to Minnesota, home from Minnesota, at Washington, at Philadelphia.
08:13So, that's a little bit of a gauntlet, yeah.
08:15And Detroit, yeah, they beat the Ravens.
08:17And then you beat the Browns at home.
08:21And then you went to the Bengals without Burrow, and you beat them, too.
08:24You rocked the Bears 52-21.
08:26I love the offense.
08:27I'm still not sold on the defense.
08:30And so, yeah, interesting the way we both look at the top seven, especially with the 49ers.
08:37Yep.
08:38Yep.
08:38I mean, I give them full credit for being 4-1, but I also look at...
08:42Oh, everybody gets credit for being 4-1.
08:44Yeah, you're all...
08:44I mean, they're all 4-1.
08:45Yep.
08:45And I just, you know, for me, if Jacksonville beats you, that's, to me, a head-to-head tiebreaker.
08:51And I put credence in that, because they played football and Jacksonville won.
08:55That's fine.
08:55Absolutely.
08:56Jacksonville right now is living and dying by the turnover.
09:00You could look at that as a great thing.
09:03It is a great thing.
09:04Causing turnovers is wonderful.
09:06How sustainable is it?
09:07Are you going to turn the ball over at that rate for the entire year?
09:12My guess would be no.
09:14That's pretty hard to do.
09:16Pick six in Patrick Mahomes at the goal line.
09:18Great play.
09:19Great play.
09:20So, I'm jealous of the turnovers they've been able to create.
09:24The Niners have created none.
09:26A five?
09:28Next to none.
09:29Like, outside of Alfred Collins, can you even remember one this year?
09:32Well, Fred Warner with a couple of peanut punches.
09:34Yep.
09:35Right?
09:35And that's, you know, that's been the only thing they've really done.
09:39They have no interceptions still.
09:40They had strip sacks to win games week one and week two.
09:43That's true.
09:43There you go.
09:43The Sam Donald one.
09:44That was by Nick Bosa.
09:46That was good.
09:46If I told you, five weeks in, the 49ers would have no rushing touchdowns and no interceptions
09:52by their defense, you'd think that they were one and four.
09:55Oh, and five.
09:55Right?
09:56I mean, that's bananas.
09:58Yeah.
09:58They can't sack the quarterback.
10:00They can't run the ball.
10:01They can't pick off a pass.
10:02And then they win their football games.
10:03Right.
10:04Crazy.
10:04Crazy.
