External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar reaffirmed that India’s strategic autonomy is stronger than ever, emphasizing there is no need for the country to form alliances. He said India upheld its independence in foreign policy even when it was much weaker, and today’s global political dynamics only strengthen that position. “India did not ally with anyone when we were weaker, so there’s absolutely no reason to do it now,” he said, adding that the conduct of some nations has reinforced India’s commitment to autonomy.

00:00:00And we're now getting some more breaking news.
00:00:02External Affairs Minister S.J. Shankar bats for strategic autonomy,
00:00:06says India's strategic autonomy is stronger than ever.
00:00:09He says, and I quote,
00:00:11India did not ally with anybody even when we were much weaker.
00:00:15Today, there is absolutely no reason to do it.
00:00:18In fact, the behavior of some countries has made the case for strategic autonomy stronger.
00:00:23This is what External Affairs Minister S.J. Shankar has said.
00:00:26He has batted for strategic autonomy and has said that India's strategic autonomy is stronger than ever.
00:00:36A lot of these arguments that, you know,
00:00:40freedom of choice is equated with indecision,
00:00:45which is a clever subtext for saying align with me.
00:00:49I think we should call it out.
00:00:51We should say that, look, that's not the way I consider.
00:00:57I mean, when we were much weaker, we didn't do it.
00:01:00There is today no case to do it.
00:01:01In fact, when I look at the current trends in global international politics,
00:01:05I would argue that the behavior of states,
00:01:09some of which Ambassador Sibbal also referred to,
00:01:12has actually made a stronger case
00:01:13for maintaining strategic autonomy and promoting multi-alignment.
00:01:18So, India has always exerted its strategic autonomy.
00:01:23That's the statement that has been made by External Affairs Minister S.J. Shankar.
00:01:26He has batted for strategic autonomy.
00:01:28In fact, he goes on to say that India's strategic autonomy is stronger than ever.
00:01:33He mentioned that India did not ally with anybody,
00:01:36even when India was much weaker.
00:01:39And in fact, today, there is absolutely no reason to do it.
00:01:42In fact, the behavior of some countries has made the case for strategic autonomy much stronger.
00:01:48And we're now getting some more breaking news.
00:01:59Donald Trump hopeful of Gaza peace soon.
00:02:01U.S. President Donald Trump says,
00:02:03we have just about every nation working on this deal and trying to get it done.
00:02:08This is a deal that incredibly everyone just came together.
00:02:13So, that's the statement that Donald Trump has made on the Gaza war.
00:02:18He is hopeful of Gaza peace soon.
00:02:21In fact, he claims that every nation is working on this deal and trying to get it done.
00:02:26And he also goes on to say that this is a deal that incredibly everyone just came together for.
00:02:32We have just about every nation working on this deal and trying to get it done.
00:02:39Something that you could say 3,000 years if you look at it in certain ways.
00:02:44Or you could say centuries.
00:02:46But this is a deal that incredibly everyone just came together.
00:02:50They all came together.
00:02:52So, as the Israel and Gaza war continues,
00:02:55Donald Trump is hopeful that there will be peace soon.
00:02:58And he claims that all the nations are working on this deal.
00:03:03In fact, there were some points also which were released.
00:03:07The peace deal plan on Gaza was also released.
00:03:10And Donald Trump claims that he's hopeful that the deal will be achieved soon.
00:03:15And in fact, U.S. President Donald Trump also spoke on Greta Thunberg.
00:03:28She has an anger management problem.
00:03:30I think she should see a doctor.
00:03:33If you ever watch her for a young person, she's so angry, she's so crazy.
00:03:37You can have her.
00:03:38This is what Donald Trump said while slamming Greta Thunberg.
00:03:42Thunberg now hits out at international governments for flotilla detentions in Israel.
00:03:48Swedish activist Greta Thunberg hit out at the international politicians
00:03:52in a video statement released on October 6th,
00:03:56saying her detention in Israel is a direct result of their inaction.
00:04:01After which, Donald Trump took a jibe and slammed Greta Thunberg,
00:04:05saying that she has an anger management problem and that she should see a doctor.
00:04:10He, in fact, also went on to say that if you ever watch Greta Thunberg for a young person,
00:04:15she's so angry.
00:04:21She's just a troublemaker.
00:04:23You know, I mean, she's you mean she's no longer into the environment.
00:04:25Now she's into this.
00:04:27She's a troublemaker.
00:04:28She has an anger management problem.
00:04:30I think she should see a doctor.
00:04:31She needs anger.
00:04:32If you ever watch her, she's a young person.
00:04:36She's so angry.
00:04:36She's so crazy.
00:04:38Now you can have her.
00:04:39You can have her.
00:04:40She's just a troublemaker.
00:04:41Our imprisonment by Israel is a direct result of our governments.
00:04:45They keep talking about the importance of upholding human rights and international law
00:04:50and to get aid into Gaza.
00:04:52And then when we do their job, trying to do just that,
00:04:56while being completely peaceful and abiding by international law,
00:05:00they fail to ensure our safety.
00:05:02No human being is worth more than any other.
00:05:06And that also applies to Israelis.
00:05:09It's absurd that this even has to be said.
00:05:12And just to have it said once again,
00:05:14of course we are not running errands for Hamas,
00:05:17nor are we terrorists.
00:05:20Israel think they can get away with only recycling their old arguments
00:05:24and smear campaigns to justify their atrocities
00:05:26without addressing the evidence of them committing a genocide.
00:05:31But the world sees through their desperate lies.
00:05:34And a day before the second anniversary of the deadly Hamas attack on October 7,
00:05:41delegations from Hamas and Israel held talks in Egypt's Sharm el-Sheikh.
00:05:47Steve Witkoff and President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner
00:05:50two joined the peace talks.
00:05:52But as talks for the future of Gaza takes place,
00:05:55aid seekers along with 10 Palestinians have been killed.
00:05:58U.S. President Donald Trump has urged mediators to move fast to end the war in Gaza.
00:06:03In southern Gaza, the condition of displaced Palestinians have worsened.
00:06:07The Hamas delegation is being led by Khalil al-Hayr,
00:06:11the head of the group's negotiating team,
00:06:13who was targeted in an assassination attempt by Israel in Qatar last month.
00:06:18U.S. along with Israel has been demanding Hamas disarmament
00:06:21and the immediate release of 48 hostages.
00:06:25The discussions are expected to last at least a few days.
00:06:28Though the 20-point plan does not mention a separate Palestine state,
00:06:32Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said that real peace in the Middle East
00:06:37will come only with the creation of a Palestinian state
00:06:40based on the principles of international legitimacy
00:06:43that restore rights to their rightful owners.
00:06:45And now shifting focus, BJP's big appeasement politics attack on TMC.
00:06:59BJP claims one community attacking under TMC's shield.
00:07:03BJP MP Murmu brutally attacked in Bengal.
00:07:06BJP also alleges TMC goons attacked BJP MP and MLA.
00:07:10So, that's the update that is coming in.
00:07:12Remember, yesterday BJP, MLA and MP were attacked
00:07:16while they were visiting the rain-affected areas in Bengal
00:07:20and after which the BJP is now claiming that one particular community
00:07:25is attacking under TMC's shield.
00:07:29So, BJP is alleging that TMC goons were the ones who attacked the BJP MP
00:07:34and MLA. Remember, BJP MP Murmu was brutally attacked in West Bengal yesterday.
00:07:40We're showing you the visuals as well.
00:07:43And now the BJP is claiming that the attack was in fact done by the TMC goons.
00:07:48The state is carrying cases as well as required.
00:07:54In which the GOP silo far lag .
00:08:00No reason to defeat this time by the KLJ may因her.
00:08:03It is killing a drafting over déjà.
00:08:09Hogan Murmu ji is one veteran, senior.
00:08:12Public representative there.
00:08:15A visit by two BJP leaders to assess the flood damage in North Bengal has turned violent and bloody,
00:08:42triggering a fresh war of words between the BJP and the ruling TMC in the state. Here's a report.
00:08:59Chased.
00:09:08Vehicle ransacked.
00:09:12And then assaulted.
00:09:17What was meant to be a visit to assess the flood situation in North Bengal's Nagra Kata turned into a scene of violence and chaos.
00:09:27BJP MP Khagen Murmo from North Malda and Siliguri, MLA, Shankar Ghosh were attacked in Jalpaiguri district
00:09:35during their visit to review the damage caused by the floods.
00:09:40Shocking videos of the incident have surfaced.
00:09:47Khagen Murmo's car windshield was shattered and he was seen bleeding from the face.
00:09:53BJP MLA Shankar Ghosh also sustained minor injuries and his clothes were torn in the scuffle.
00:10:03Following the attack, BJP leaders accused the TMC of orchestrating the violence.
00:10:09Prime Minister Modi lashed out at TMC and claimed pathetic order of law and order situation in the state.
00:10:18He also asked the ruling TMC to focus on development instead of violence in state.
00:10:24The BJP also urged the West Bengal governor to impose Article 355, citing constitutional failure in the state.
00:10:36Chidamul boons and hooligans suddenly attacked them with an intent to kill them.
00:10:42The attack was something which was, you can call it a chill-up in the spine incident.
00:10:48This shows what this state of affairs actually is in the state of West Bengal.
00:10:52Earlier, the party criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for what it called insensitivity
00:11:00as she attended Kolkata's Durga Puja Carnival,
00:11:03even while parts of North Bengal were grappling with floods, landslides and displacement.
00:11:09The TMC has been held in the state of West Bengal.
00:11:23The TMC has dismissed the allegations, calling the BJP's visit a mere photo op, with no relief material in hand.
00:11:46The TMC claims the backlash was a result of local anger.
00:11:53The TMC has condemned the violence and has shifted the blame to the BJP for what she termed as provocative politics.
00:12:23As Bengal reels from nature's fury, political blame game has only intensified.
00:12:46What remains forgotten in this war of words are the very people, marooned and suffering, who desperately await relief and reassurance.
00:13:16And now shifting focus, the tragic death of 16 children allegedly following consumption of contaminated cough syrup has shaken India.
00:13:29The horror has now sparked nationwide outrage and a flurry of action.
00:13:34Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister has ordered a SIT probe and the National Human Rights Commission has stepped in, issuing notices seeking a detailed inquiry.
00:13:43Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has cracked the whip after at least 16 children died in Madhya Pradesh, all victims of a single medicine, cold rift cough syrup.
00:13:53The state's drug controller Dinesh Maurya has been transferred while two drug inspectors and a deputy director of the Food and Drug Administration have been suspended.
00:14:03A local doctor has also been arrested for alleged negligence and a special investigation team has been formed to probe the lapses that led to the tragedy.
00:14:11The chief minister who visited Chinwada to meet the families of the victims said that all those responsible will face strict action.
00:14:19In fact, he also urged the opposition not to politicize the tragedy.
00:14:23Congress is mounting a sharp attack, calling it an example of unforgivable negligence and demanding the chief minister should focus on accountability and sack his health minister.
00:14:33It is a real and unfortunate incident which has happened and this has been happening for the last two months.
00:14:42We have seen two deaths in Rajasthan where the government had reported on this and unfortunately the green sheet was given to that pharma company.
00:14:49Now a doctor tries a medicine and how far he is responsible whether the medicine is journaled, adulterated, how can he say that?
00:14:59We have written a medicine, side effects and when this cause sent for investigation to Madhya Singh, they found out that the impurity is there and there.
00:15:10Let them do an independent inquiry, go to the left of it and find out fact finding who is responsible.
00:15:17We have done a direction in the U.P. government, our department, that we will take all the cup of syrup, our manufacturers, hospitals, all of them will be seizure and the particular batches, batch numbers, all of them will be used in this company.
00:15:36Plus extra, we will take all the cup of syrup, sample and test so that we can see that there will be no damage in the U.P.
00:15:45All of them.
00:16:15And now shifting focus, shocking breach inside the Supreme Court.
00:16:34A lawyer tried to hurl a shoe at CGI BR Gawai yesterday during Supreme Court proceedings.
00:16:40The attack inside the country's highest temple of justice has triggered outrage across political lines.
00:16:47Prime Minister Modi condemned the act, calling it utterly reprehensible
00:16:50and saying that the attack on the CGI has angered every Indian.
00:16:55Prime Minister also praised the Chief Justice calm and composure in the face of provocation,
00:17:00saying his dignified response reflected the true spirit of the Constitution.
00:17:04In fact, the opposition has now gone on the offensive,
00:17:06with Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi calling it an attack on the Constitution itself.
00:17:12Rahul Gandhi in a post said that this was not just an assault on an individual,
00:17:16but on the dignity of the judiciary.
00:17:19In fact, RJD's Tejasvi Yadha went a step further,
00:17:22calling the incident a symptom of the hatred and intolerance normalized in India since 2014.
00:17:29He also said that the shoe wasn't thrown at the Chief Justice,
00:17:33but at the Constitution and the idols of Baba Sahib Ambedkar.
00:17:37This kind of a lawyer should not have been a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association
00:17:44and we'll take action against him as far as that is concerned.
00:17:48And number two, we condemn this kind of, you know, attempt by this lawyer.
00:17:53Even today, the attempt appears more to be seeking publicity
00:17:57rather than, you know, actually doing some, you know, respect to his religion.
00:18:04And I also blame the social media for this,
00:18:07for, you know, completely, you know, distorting hearing
00:18:12and projecting something which actually has not happened.
00:18:16This court has put in the trust to the Lord of Allah,
00:18:18I believe that the court has been thrown at the government,
00:18:23although the court is not thrown at the government,
00:18:26because the court has been thrown at the peace and the torch is thrown at the son of the Peace
00:18:28of the Supreme Court.
00:18:30And the court has been thrown at the peace of the Lord
00:18:31and known as the peace of the Lord of Allah,
00:18:33which has thrown at the peace of the Lord.
00:18:35I amétat and acknowledging all of this world and over the peace of the Lord.
00:18:38I am sorry to have said that.
00:18:39and sitting in the center of the state of the country,
00:18:43they want to say that why are you in your head
00:18:48and why are you in your head?
00:18:50You should do it.
00:19:03And now shifting focus,
00:19:05the dates for Bihar Assembly elections have been announced
00:19:07for the first time in 20 years.
00:19:09The Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases,
00:19:12first on November 6 and second phase on November 11.
00:19:16The results will be declared on November 14.
00:19:19121 seats will go to polls in the first phase,
00:19:22while 122 seats will go to polls in the second phase.
00:19:26This will be the first state election held after the Election Commission's
00:19:29special intensive revision of Bihar's voter rolls.
00:19:32As alliances weigh their options and negotiations heat up,
00:19:36seat-sharing talks are also emerging as the first major flashpoint.
00:19:40All eyes are now on the NDA,
00:19:41where Chirag Paswan's Lok Jan Shakti Party, Ram Vilas,
00:19:45has made it clear that they are not here for symbolic participation.
00:19:49It has drawn a clear line that talks will collapse
00:19:51if only 20 to 22 seats are offered.
00:19:55BJP, meanwhile, seems to be expanding its outreach beyond traditional politics.
00:19:59Folk singer Meithili Thakur is likely to enter the electoral fray
00:20:03from Darbhanga's Alinagar.
00:20:04Following her meeting with BJP General Secretary, Vinod Taure.
00:20:08Meanwhile, there's a chance that Bhojpuri superstar,
00:20:11Pawan Singh, may contest elections as well.
00:20:13He continues to make political headlines after meeting
00:20:16Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. Nadda and Vinod Taure.
00:20:19These ministers have gone in May, and are they not surprised about this photo?
00:20:24Of course, the truth of this photo is made to be received.
00:20:26This is a very important force in the audience,
00:20:28though, as I've been to the author,
00:20:30But since I have seen it,
00:20:31I have a question in my heart also of what going to happen in the future.
00:20:34And what is going to happen at this audience?
00:20:35Because I don't have to ask any about this morning.
00:20:36Sinceme, I'll be able to ask no other questions in the event,
00:20:38that it will not be found in the event,
00:20:39so that I don't have to give a sure to the event.
00:20:40I don't want to give a surety, but how was it going to happen in the moment,
00:20:49in which way we should think about the development of youth.
00:20:54Because many different words tell us about our society,
00:20:59people live in different ages.
00:21:01For everyone to see, when I was sitting at these leaders,
00:21:05the thoughts of their thoughts and their stories,
00:21:08it has me very upset.
00:21:10I have a chance to leave this opportunity.
00:21:15I have all my friends,
00:21:18and I feel that they are all my daughter.
00:21:22So, I am ready for everything.
00:21:25How many people ask this question?
00:21:28When one place is sitting there,
00:21:31for us,
00:21:32I have a chance to have the right to see,
00:21:34and I have an advantage for that.
00:21:36It is not a problem.
00:21:38Many people tell us that you are 35 or 35,
00:21:42many people tell us that you are 48,
00:21:4445.
00:21:45How many people tell us that they are 35 or 45,
00:21:48these will be my generation?
00:21:50.
00:21:57.
00:22:07.
00:22:12.
00:22:13.
00:22:14foreign
00:22:35The
00:22:39government has been
00:22:41prepared
00:22:43with its members.
00:22:45We have prepared
00:22:47for the
00:22:49members.
00:22:51We are doing
00:22:5324-7 politics.
00:22:55Naitish Kumar Ji is a
00:22:57member of the
00:22:59member of the
00:23:01member of the
00:23:02member of the
00:23:03member of the
00:23:04Sometimes they will see you eat fish in a helicopter,
00:23:06and they will see you cut cake in a plane.
00:23:08There are 14 results, and there is a children's day.
00:23:13But in children's day, they don't get anything to the kids.
00:23:16They don't get a gift.
00:23:17And they don't get a gift to the West people.
00:23:20They just fail.
00:23:22So this West people will fail again.
00:23:24As usual, the election commission is announcing,
00:23:26declaring the election dates suit for the government.
00:23:32Now everybody is in Diwali celebrations and chat pujas.
00:23:39Okay.
00:23:42Anyway, they announced the elections.
00:23:46We are completely prepared for fighting election in Bihar.
00:23:49Mahagir Bantan is ready for fighting election.
00:23:52We are ready to win the election in Bihar.
00:23:55Despite the fact that the election commission of India
00:23:58and the entire missionary of India government is trying to
00:24:02remove the regular waters of Bihar.
00:24:07West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee hits back at Prime Minister Modi
00:24:12over BJP MP attack.
00:24:13Prime Minister Modi had slammed Mamata government for law and order collapse
00:24:17after the incident, to which Mamata Banerjee has now hit back,
00:24:20saying that Prime Minister is politicizing disaster without probe.
00:24:25She went on to say that BJP is polarizing people before assembly elections.
00:24:30And remember, Prime Minister Modi had said that TMC,
00:24:33West Bengal government, must focus on relief, not violence.
00:24:37Prime Minister Modi also said that law and order are in pathetic state in the state of West Bengal.
00:24:43So, clearly, a full-blown political war has now broken out between the TMC and the BJP,
00:24:49with Prime Minister Modi slamming the West Bengal government for the collapse
00:24:53of law and order in the state of West Bengal,
00:24:56to which West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has now hit back,
00:25:00saying that Prime Minister is politicizing disaster without probe.
00:25:03In fact, Prime Minister has also said that TMC and West Bengal government
00:25:09must focus on relief, not violence.
00:25:12Remember, a visit by two BJP leaders to assess flood damage in North Bengal turned violent and bloody,
00:25:23which has now triggered a fresh war of words between the BJP and the ruling TMC in the state of West Bengal.
00:25:30Prime Minister Modi slammed the TMC government for a complete law and order collapse
00:25:35and said that the government must focus on relief and not violence.
00:25:40And Prime Minister Modi also said that law and order is in a pathetic condition in the state of West Bengal,
00:25:46to which now Mamata Banerjee has hit back at Prime Minister Modi over his attack.
00:25:51Mamata Banerjee has said that the Prime Minister is politicizing disaster without probe,
00:25:57and she also said that BJP is polarizing the people even before votes.
00:26:03My colleague Tapas Sain Gupta is now joining us with more details on this.
00:26:08Tapas, the bigger question is that how can an elected MP and MLA be attacked during a relief visit?
00:26:15This clearly reflects the kind of law and order situation that is there in the state of West Bengal.
00:26:21Absolutely, Anjali, because the first thing first that the public representative
00:26:28is always expected to visit affected areas when these kind of calamities take place,
00:26:33and that's what Corgan Mumu and Shankar Coast did yesterday.
00:26:37But all of a sudden, they were attacked.
00:26:40And we know that North Bengal is a strong passion of the BJP.
00:26:43But despite that, the way they were attacked by the mob,
00:26:47the BJP claimed it was a pre-planned attack and the General Congress came behind it.
00:26:51But it escalated to a different level when Prime Minister himself took it to the social media
00:26:55and condemned the attack on the BJP leaders.
00:26:59And following which, Dr Banerjee also took it to the social media countering the claims of Prime Minister Modi.
00:27:09And she categorically stated that he is the Prime Minister of the country, not of a party,
00:27:14and he should allow a free and fair inquiry into the matter.
00:27:18And she accused Prime Minister Modi of polarizing the situation.
00:27:23But the larger question that remains unanswered at this moment,
00:27:27that whether or not those people have been identified, whether they have been arrested,
00:27:31and whether or not that particular incident could have been well averted.
00:27:35Because the flood affected areas are those places where there are police postings in general,
00:27:43and when public representatives are visiting, that even…
00:27:45All right, do stay with us. We're now being joined by BJP's Rahul Sinha on the broadcast.
00:27:50Mr. Sinha, this political war of words is coming in front of BJP and TMC.
00:27:56Prime Minister Modi has put it to the point of the West Bengal government.
00:28:01He said that the West Bengal government should now focus on relief,
00:28:05not on violence.
00:28:06We have seen how two BJP leaders were attacked yesterday.
00:28:10But now, Mamta Banerjee has attacked the war.
00:28:13He said that Prime Minister Modi is all this.
00:28:15He said that the Prime Minister Modi has got to be politicised.
00:28:17Look, the rule of the CCP is a false government.
00:28:20Be sure, Mamta Banerjee,, you know, the President of Allah has got to be resolved.
00:28:23He has understood the attack.
00:28:24He has understood the attack.
00:28:26He has explained the attack.
00:28:28But they have executed the attack.
00:28:29He did not.
00:28:30He has defeated this attack.
00:28:31The attack was executed.
00:28:34He is the attack.
00:28:35He is the attack.
00:28:38The attack is the attack against the fighting.
00:28:39And the police has now completely gangsta.
00:32:20areas in Darjeeling and adjoining areas, so that should remain to be the priority.
00:32:24The forces, the NDRF, SDRF, everybody is working hand-in-hand, but the leadership at the top
00:32:29from the centre and the state must come together at this hour of need to help out the people
00:32:34who are reeling under this flood situation. Back to you.
00:32:37Absolutely, Tapas. Thank you so much for joining us on the broadcast and we'll keep
00:32:41coming back to you for more updates on the story.
00:32:50Thank you so much for joining us.
00:33:21A visit by two BJP leaders to assess the flood damage in North Bengal turned violent and
00:33:26bloody on Monday, triggering a fresh war of words between the BJP and the ruling TMC in
00:33:31the state. Here's a report.
00:33:33Chased.
00:33:46Vehicle ransacked and then assaulted. What was meant to be a visit to assess the flood situation
00:34:07in North Bengal's Nagra Kata turned into a scene of violence and chaos.
00:34:13BJP MP Khagen Murmu from North Malda and Siliguri, MLA, Shankar Ghosh were attacked in Jalpaiguri
00:34:20district during their visit to review the damage caused by the floods.
00:34:24Shocking videos of the incident have surfaced.
00:34:33Khaagen Murmu's car windshield was shattered and he was seen bleeding from the face.
00:34:39BJP MLA, Shankar Ghosh also sustained minor injuries and his clothes were torn in the scuffle.
00:34:49Following the attack, BJP leaders accused the TMC of orchestrating the violence.
00:34:54Prime Minister Modi lashed out at TMC and claimed pathetic order of law and order situation in
00:35:03the state. He also asked the ruling TMC to focus on development instead of violence in
00:35:10state. The BJP also urged the West Bengal governor to impose Article 355, citing constitutional failure
00:35:19in the state. Earlier, the party criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerji for what it called
00:35:44insensitivity as she attended Kolkata's Durga Puja Carnival, even while parts of North Bengal
00:35:51were grappling with floods, landslides and displacement.
00:35:55The TMC has been taken to the government.
00:36:25dismissed the allegations, calling the BJP's visit a mere photo op with no relief material
00:36:31in hand. The TMC claims the backlash was a result of local anger.
00:36:55Chief Minister Mahmouda Banerjee has condemned the violence and has shifted the blame to
00:37:04the BJP for what she termed as provocative politics.
00:37:25As Bengal reels from nature's fury, political blame game has only intensified.
00:37:34What remains forgotten in this war of words are the very people, marooned and suffering,
00:37:39who desperately await relief and reassurance.
00:37:55And we're now getting some more breaking news.
00:38:15Tamil Nadu government report nails, cough syrup toxicity, 350 irregularities highlighted in
00:38:20the report. Deficiencies categorized as critical and major.
00:38:24Syrup was made in unsanitary conditions at the Tamil Nadu company, company lacked skilled
00:38:30manpower, machinery and facilities. Low toxic industrial solvent, propylene glycol found in
00:38:37syrup. Propylene glycol in large quantities can cause toxicity. Industrial solvent, diethylene
00:38:44glycol also found in the syrup. That's the latest that's coming in. My colleague Ravish
00:38:48Paal is now joining us with more details on this. Ravish, and what knowledge we are getting
00:38:53from the Tamil Nadu government report, which is on cough syrup and has highlighted many lapses.
00:38:59India today has received an exclusive report.
00:39:04India has received an exclusive report, which has been accessed, and you tell us that
00:39:09there are more than 350 irregularities, around 364 irregularities that the Tamil Nadu drug department
00:39:15which had been checked in on US. This is a shocking thing we have now.
00:39:21It is a shocking fact. What was this? That is what the weather is where?
00:39:22It was going to be in the Real Madrid world. What was that?
00:39:25But what did we have seen in these countries as if you were to continue to leave the country
00:39:28in日本? All the countries in the country are still in the report,

00:42:05Tamil Nadu company. This is also what the Tamil Nadu government report states. The company lacked
00:42:10skilled manpower, machinery and also the facilities. And there was low toxic industrial
00:42:16solvent, propylene glycol, which was found in these cough syrup. Now, propylene glycol in large
00:42:22quantities can cause toxicity. As my colleague Ravish was also mentioning, if taken in smaller
00:42:28quantities, it's not harmful. But if taken in large quantities, it can cause toxicity. Industrial
00:42:34solvent, diethylene glycol, was also found in the cough syrup. Now, diethylene glycol is used as
00:42:40cheaper alternative and diethylene glycol is more harmful than propylene glycol.
00:42:51So, the tragic death of 16 children allegedly following consumption of contaminated cough syrup
00:42:57has shaken India. The horror has now sparked nationwide outrage and a flurry of action.
00:43:03Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister has ordered an SIT probe and the National Human Rights Commission has
00:43:08now stepped in, issuing notices, seeking a detailed inquiry in this matter.
00:43:13Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has cracked the whip after at least 14 children died in
00:43:18Madhya Pradesh, all victims of a single medicine, cold rift cough syrup.
00:43:23The state's drug controller, Dinesh Maurya, has been transferred, while two drug inspectors and a
00:43:28deputy director of the Food and Drug Administration have been suspended.
00:43:31A local doctor has also been arrested for alleged negligence and a special investigation team has
00:43:37been formed to probe the lapses that led to the tragedy.
00:43:40Now, the Chief Minister, who visited Chindwara to meet the families of the victims, said that
00:43:45all those responsible will face strict action. In fact, he also urged the opposition not to
00:43:50politicize the tragedy. Congress is mounting a sharp attack, calling it an example of unforgivable
00:43:56negligence and demanding the Chief Minister should focus on accountability and also sack his health
00:44:02minister.
00:44:04It's a real and unfortunate incident which has happened. And this has been happening for the last two months.
00:44:10We have seen two deaths in Rajasthan, where the government had reported on this, and unfortunately,
00:44:16the green sheet was given to that pharma company. Now, a doctor writes a medicine, and how far he is
00:44:21responsible whether the medicine is journaled, adulterated. How can he say that? We have written
00:44:28a medicine, side effects, and when this was sent for investigation to Madras, this thing, they
00:44:33found out that it is impurity is there and there. Let them do an independent inquiry, going to the left
00:44:41carpet, and find out, fact-finding, who is responsible.
00:44:44Who is responsible?
00:44:45We have done a direction in the U.P. government, and our department, that we will take all the
00:44:51cup of syrup. We will take all the manufacturers, hospitals, and we will take all the caesars, and
00:44:59all the batches, all the batch numbers, all the batch numbers of this company, and extra
00:45:05all the cup of syrup. We will take all the bottles, sample and test so that we can see that
00:45:11we can see that we can see that we can see in the U.P.
00:45:14The first thing is that I got to know about three tarikhs. I got to know about this
00:45:18story, in which the satshth Mantri ji, without a charge, and they are saying that there is no
00:45:26sense of anyone. I understand that if they have said that they have said that they should
00:45:33still be good to be good to be good to be good. And they have said that they are not
00:45:40going to be good to be good to be good to be good at all. And so, I do say that if the
00:45:46This is a good thing in our own.
00:45:49I would say that if I have this kind of statement,
00:45:53I would like to have the Mukhya Mantri Ji to be able to do this.
00:45:57Our Mukhya Mantri Ji is here today, eight days later.
00:46:01Yesterday, they were throwing their hands,
00:46:04they were getting rid of the jungle,
00:46:07trying to get rid of the village.
00:46:09This is a complete way of the purpose of the law of the government.
00:46:15And after the tragic deaths of several children linked to contaminated cough syrup in Madhya Pradesh,
00:46:34the state cracked down, arresting Dr. Praveen Soni, the pediatrician who prescribed the medicine.
00:46:39But the medical fraternity is pushing back.
00:46:41The Indian Medical Association calls the arrest legal illiteracy and injustice,
00:46:46saying that Dr. Soni is being made a scapegoat to cover up regulatory failures.
00:46:51India Today's Neha Murdani reports.
00:46:54Legal illiteracy and injustice, the words used by the Indian Medical Association to describe the action taken against Dr. Soni,
00:47:02the veteran pediatrician who has been arrested in connection with the death of children who were administered cold rift in Madhya Pradesh.
00:47:09The IMA in this letter has demanded immediate action on the actual culprits and adequate compensation for the affected families and the doctor who they say is a victim of defamation.
00:47:22It's an attempt the IMA has set to divert the attention of the people from the faults of regulatory authorities.
00:47:28In this letter, the IMA has lashed out both at the government and the regulators.
00:47:34DEG contamination and cough syrups has been seen in the past as well in India and Jammu and Kashmir in 2019-2020.
00:47:41Was it the same company? Was this the same product?
00:47:44See, in fact, this matter, they had sent it to South Africa, they come two, three places in Africa, which it was banned later on.
00:47:59It has come in press of the world list.
00:48:01At that point in time, the union government was in denial, wasn't it, Dr. Banushali, about this product?
00:48:07The fact is that pharmaceutical-grade glycerine and propylene glycol required for manufacturing cough syrups are very expensive.
00:48:21Toxic substances such as industrial-grade DEG and ethylene glycol or EEG are cheaper and then find their way into these medicines is what the IMA here is underscoring.
00:48:32The IMA has said the prescribing doctor has no way of knowing whether a medicine is contaminated until adverse outcomes are reported among patients who have taken it.
00:48:47If the committee, if the law says that doctors are responsible, throw him behind the back, no problem.
00:48:53But you can't do it like this.
00:48:55There is a protocol to be followed.
00:48:57There is a fact-finding team.
00:48:58It has to be given to a committee of experts, which will say he's responsible for this.
00:49:04Then you can address him or whatever you want to do.
00:49:06In fact, the IMA has pointed towards the Mashelkar report of 2003, which said the problems in the regulatory system in the country were primarily due to inadequate or weak drug control interest structure at the state and at the central level.
00:49:23Inadequate testing facilities, shortage of drug inspectors, non-uniformity of enforcement, lack of specially trained cadres for specific regulatory areas, non-existence of data bank and non-availability of accurate information.
00:49:38Essentially, the problem is with certain batches of the medicines.
00:49:42So who is to be held accountable here?
00:49:45Please tell us, who is responsible?
00:50:04The body has said that the onus of the death of these hapless children falls squarely on the manufacturers and the authorities.
00:50:21Intimidation of the medical profession, they say, is uncalled for and will be resisted.
00:50:26In New Delhi, Sneha Mordani for India Today Television.
00:50:33And we're now getting some breaking news.
00:50:39The Mumbai Police Economic Offences Wing recorded the statement of actress Shilpa Shetty accused of fraud worth 60 crore rupees.
00:50:46A Mumbai Police official stated that the police interrogated Shilpa Shetty for approximately four and a half hours and recorded her statement.
00:50:55An Economic Offences Wing official stated that the police questioned Shilpa Shetty at her home.
00:51:00During the interrogation, Shilpa Shetty provided information about alleged transactions in her advertising company's bank account.
00:51:07During the interrogation, Shilpa provided several documents to the police which are now being verified.
00:51:13So, that's the breaking news that's coming in after Shilpa Shetty has been interrogated by the Mumbai Police Economic Offences Wing.
00:51:22My colleague Dipesh Tripathi is now joining us with more details on the interrogation of Shilpa Shetty.
00:51:27Dipesh, over to you.
00:51:30The affair was registered against Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra in a cheating and forgery case of 60 crores.
00:51:38It was filed by a businessman who was Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra in the advertising company.
00:51:46After the plane, the police has lodged an FIR and in this investigation now, the police has questioned Shilpa Shetty at her residence for almost four and a half hours.
00:51:56And according to sources, Shilpa Shetty cooperated with the investigation.
00:52:01She provided certain documents which were asked by the EOW and after verify these documents in future economic offensory.
00:52:09May I get questioned Shilpa Shetty as well?
00:52:11What do you do?
00:52:14Right.
00:52:14Dipesh, so now that she has provided the documents to the police, what is expected next?
00:52:19Now the police will verify the fact and the statement which was given by the Shilpa Shetty and also the documents which were provided by the Shilpa Shetty.
00:52:31And also, in this case, Raj Kundra is also accused and is also mentioned in the affair.
00:52:37So now the police will definitely question Raj Kundra as well.
00:52:40Raj Kundra has been sent previously by the economic offensory and they really could tell the statement and continue the investigation.
00:52:51All right, Dipesh, thank you for getting us all those details.
00:52:55So actress Shilpa Shetty was grilled by the Mumbai Police Economic Offences wing in a case involving 60 crore rupees fraud.
00:53:10And we're now getting some more breaking news.
00:53:12Senior BJP leader shot dead in Odisha's Ganjom.
00:53:16Pitabas Panda shot dead near his home.
00:53:19Two bike-born killers opened fire at the BJP leader.
00:53:23The leader was declared dead in the hospital.
00:53:25The slain Neta had joined BJP from the Congress.
00:53:28That's the breaking news that's coming in from Odisha,
00:53:31where a senior BJP leader has been shot dead in Ganjom district.
00:53:36His name is Pitabas Panda, who has been shot dead near his house.
00:53:39Two bike-born assailants opened fire at the BJP leader.
00:53:44He was then declared dead in the hospital.
00:53:47The leader had joined BJP from the Congress.
00:53:53My colleague Anupam Mishra is now joining us with more details on this.
00:53:57Anupam, absolutely shocking news coming to the fore from Odisha,
00:54:00where a BJP leader has been shot dead.
00:54:02Give us more details.
00:54:04Yes, the incident happened last night at around 10 p.m. outside his residence.
00:54:10Pitabas Panda, a lawyer by profession and a member of Odisha State Bar Council,
00:54:16a leader of BJP.
00:54:18But he was in Congress previous back, and he had joined BJP's US back,
00:54:23leading Congress, and he was very active raising the issues related to previous governments.
00:54:30And last night at around 10 p.m., two or three bike-born miscreants came outside his residence and opened fire.
00:54:40So a few of the bullets hit him, and he was taken immediately to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in critical condition.
00:54:48The doctor declared he got dead.
00:54:49So the police have started an investigation, and so far the motive of the murder is not clear,
00:54:57whether it is a personal thing or whether he was raising issues during the previous government,
00:55:05that was the issue, or any other issue.
00:55:07So it's not still clear.
00:55:09The motive is still not clear.
00:55:10The police have started an investigation, and it will take some time to unearth the mystery over the murder.
00:55:19Right, Anupam, what is the family claiming?
00:55:21Is this a case of personal rivalry?
00:55:24Well, we are yet to know the family's reaction, because we are very shocked about this incident.
00:55:33It happened last night around 10 p.m.
00:55:35He was taken to hospital, and the hospital declared him to orbit.
00:55:38So it took around midnight, and after that, the family is in shock.
00:55:42We will try to take their reactions also.
00:55:46Right, Anupam, do stay with us.
00:55:50We're also getting a reaction from Transport Minister Bebhuti Bhushan.
00:55:54Let's listen in.
00:55:54My colleague Anupam continues to stay with us.
00:56:18Anupam, such an incident being reported from Odisha,
00:56:21in which a senior BJP leader was shot dead,
00:56:24also reflects the kind of law and order situation over there.
00:56:29Well, you know, for the past few months,
00:56:33the law and order situation in Odisha has deteriorated.
00:56:37And, you know, various reports of and various incidents of rape and gangwage happened in Odisha.
00:56:44And it happened, this murder has happened in Ganjam district in Bahrampur.
00:56:50And a few months back, a girl was gangwage in Gopalpur Beach in Ganjam district.
00:56:57Right.
00:56:59The place is not too far from this place also.
00:57:02So it's a very alarming situation for the present government also to curb the incidents like the...
00:57:08All right, Anupam.
00:57:09Thank you for getting us those details.
00:57:11We'll keep coming back to you for more updates on this.
00:57:13As of now, we're shifting focus.
00:57:15We're getting some more breaking news.
00:57:20And India's big attack on Pakistan at the UNSC.
00:57:29India says Pakistan bombs its own people.
00:57:32Pakistan attempts to distract the world.
00:57:34And Pakistan raises anti-India issues.
00:57:38Now, India has hit back at Pakistan,
00:57:40saying that a country that bombs its own people,
00:57:43conducts systematic genocide,
00:57:45can only attempt to distract the world with misdirection and hyperbole.
00:57:50This is what India's envoy said at the UNSC,
00:57:53slamming Pakistan,
00:57:54saying that Pakistan is the country that bombs its own people.
00:57:58And it also attempts to distract the world with false facts.
00:58:03A country that bombs its own people,
00:58:05conducts systematic genocide,
00:58:06can only attempt to distract the world with misdirection and hyperbole.
00:58:11This is what India said while attacking Pakistan at the UNSC.
00:58:19Every year, we are unfortunately fated to listen
00:58:21to the delusional tirade of Pakistan against my country,
00:58:24especially on Jammu and Kashmir,
00:58:26the Indian territory they covet.
00:58:28Our pioneering record on women, peace and security agenda
00:58:31is unblemished and unscathed.
00:58:33A country that bombs its own people,
00:58:34conducts systematic genocide,
00:58:36can only attempt to distract the world
00:58:37with misdirection and hyperbole.
00:58:39This is a country that conducted Operation Searchlight in 1971
00:58:45and sanctioned a systematic campaign
00:58:47of genocidal mass rape of 400,000 women citizens
00:58:50by its own army.
00:58:53The world sees through Pakistan's propaganda.
00:58:56President, as we look ahead,
00:58:58India remains unwavering in its commitment
00:59:00to the women, peace and security agenda.
00:59:02We stand ready to share our expertise with partners,
00:59:05particularly those in the global south,
00:59:07fostering collective solutions to share challenges.
00:59:10So, India's big attack on Pakistan at the UNSC.
00:59:15India said that Pakistan is the country
00:59:17that bombs its own people,
00:59:18referring to the recent bomb blasts in Khyber Patongkwa.
00:59:22And, in fact, India also said that Pakistan
00:59:25attempts to distract the world with distorted facts.
00:59:29Pakistan raises anti-India issues,
00:59:31and now India hit back saying that a country
00:59:33that bombs its own people conducts systematic genocide
00:59:36can only attempt to distract the world
00:59:39with misdirection and hyperbole.
00:59:41And we're now getting some more breaking news.
00:59:52Green crackers for Diwali.
00:59:54Delhi Chief Minister bats for green crackers in top court.
00:59:58The Delhi Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta,
01:00:00says that we respect Hindu religious beliefs.
01:00:02In fact, she says in a quote,
01:00:03respecting the sentiments of the people of Delhi.
01:00:06The Delhi government will request
01:00:07the Honourable Supreme Court
01:00:09to allow the use of certified green crackers this Diwali.
01:00:12The government believes that a balance
01:00:14is essential between public sentiment
01:00:16and environmental protection.
01:00:18This initiative aims to further strengthen
01:00:20our commitment to pollution control
01:00:22while respecting traditions.
01:00:24It will also be ensured that all green firecrackers
01:00:27are manufactured only by authorised organisations
01:00:30and certified and tested by competent
01:00:33and relevant departments.
01:00:35The Delhi government has fully committed
01:00:36to environmental protection
01:00:37and pollution control.
01:00:39The Honourable Supreme Court will be assured
01:00:41that the Delhi government will fully comply
01:00:43with all the court's guidelines and standards.
01:00:46Let's listen in to what Delhi Chief Minister said.
01:00:48This is a place for the people who have been
01:00:57in the Middle East.
01:00:57If we do so,
01:00:58the people of Delhi,
01:00:59and the country,
01:01:00are predestined by the people of Delhi,
01:01:01those who belong to Delhi,
01:01:02and have a great people.
01:01:03For the people of Delhi,
01:01:05there are many of them,
01:01:06there are many of them,
01:01:07including to human beings,
01:01:08and to the people of Delhi,
01:01:09there are many individuals.
01:01:10There are many of them,
01:01:11there are many who are
01:01:12who are our ex-saints,
01:01:13community,
01:01:13and other people.
01:01:14And my colleague Anmool Bali is now joining us with more details on this.
01:01:39Anmool, how soon can we expect the decision on the use of green crackers for Diwali?
01:01:44And also help us understand how safe are the green crackers as compared to the regular firecrackers?
01:01:54As you know, the Delhi government under CM Rekha Gupta is all set to put their stand in the Supreme Court on the green firecrackers
01:02:01to allow people living in the national capital to use green firecrackers amid Diwali season.
01:02:07Because recently we have seen that the Supreme Court has given a decision.
01:02:10They have asked manufacturers that they are allowed to manufacture green crackers in the national capital.
01:02:15But sale and purchase of the green firecrackers were banned.
01:02:19We have also seen that NGT and the Supreme Court have also banned the firecrackers to control the pollution situation in the national capital.
01:02:25But now Delhi government will be presenting their case in the Supreme Court to allow the usage of green crackers in the national capital.
01:02:33Because last year when the Aam Adhi Party government was in power, we have used to have seen the politics between the Aam Adhi Party and the Bharati Janata Party.
01:02:43Where Arvind Kejriwal, the then CM and Gopal Rai, the environment minister, used to impose strict ban on the firecrackers in the national capital.
01:02:52And on the other hand, the Bharati Janata Party used to blame the Aam Adhi Party being anti-Sanatnik or anti-Hindu.
01:02:57But this year, the Delhi government will approach the Supreme Court with their stand on the green firecrackers.
01:03:03And as you have asked about the difference between firecrackers and green firecrackers.
01:03:08So less chemicals like ammonia, lead, nitrate are used in the green firecrackers, which emit less carbon and less pollution in the environment.
01:03:15So that's why the Delhi government wants the green cracker to be used in the national capital, looking at the environment and as the religion of the people to celebrate Diwali.
01:03:24All right, Anmol, thank you so much for getting us all those details.
01:03:29So there's a possibility that Delhiites may use green crackers, may be allowed to use green crackers this Diwali.
01:03:41And now shifting focus, shocking breach inside the Supreme Court.
01:03:44A lawyer tried to hurl a shoe at CGI BR Gawai during Supreme Court proceedings on Monday.
01:03:50The attack inside the country's highest temple of justice has triggered outrage across political lines.
01:03:56Prime Minister Modi condemned the act, calling it utterly reprehensible and saying that the attack on the CGI has angered every Indian.
01:04:04Prime Minister also praised the Chief Justice's calm and composure in the face of provocation,
01:04:09saying that his dignified response reflected the true spirit of the Constitution.
01:04:13Meanwhile, the opposition has gone on the offensive, with Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi calling it an attack on the Constitution itself.
01:04:21Rahul Gandhi, in a post, said that this was not just an assault on an individual, but on the dignity of the judiciary.
01:04:28RJD's Tejasvi Yadav went a step further, calling the incident a symptom of the hatred and intolerance normalized in India since 2014.
01:04:36He also said that the shoe wasn't thrown at the Chief Justice, but at the Constitution and the idols of Baba Sahib Ambedkar.
01:04:43This kind of a lawyer should not have been a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association and we'll take action against him as far as that is concerned.
01:04:53And number two, we condemn this kind of attempt by this lawyer.
01:04:58Even today, the attempt appears more to be seeking publicity rather than actually doing some respect to his religion.
01:05:07And I also blame the social media for this, for, you know, completely, you know, distorting hearing and projecting something which actually has not happened.
01:05:20It's not just such a word.
01:05:23I mean, this is the truth is written by the southern part of the Supreme Court of Hatice.
01:05:28But, however, this truth is the truth, and the truth of the original dominion of the priest.
01:05:30And this truth is the truth of the조idateيت nation.
01:05:35I am the same with the promise of the duction of the Prophet of Batakir.
01:05:38I am the same with the truth of the Sonia Gandhi.
01:05:44and the people in the back of the back of the back of the back,
01:05:49have to say that why the blood is being spilled in your face.
01:05:55You should have done it.
01:05:58And my colleague Amit Bhadwaj is now joining us with more details on this.
01:06:02Amit, a full-blown political war has now erupted over the CGI attack
01:06:06with on one hand Prime Minister condemning the act,
01:06:08but on the other hand, the opposition is claiming
01:06:11that it is, in fact, the atmosphere of hate
01:06:13that has been created by the current government that is responsible for this act.
01:06:21Right, Anjali.
01:06:22You know, as far as the incident is concerned,
01:06:25across the party line, right from the Prime Minister to every opposition leader as well,
01:06:30each of them have condemned this particular incident
01:06:33where the shoe was hurled at Chief Justice of India, Justice Gawai.
01:06:39In this particular case, you had Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
01:06:42in fact, speaking to the Chief Justice of India
01:06:44and also appreciating the fact the way he conducted himself inside the courtroom
01:06:49when this incident unfolded.
01:06:51And so has the different quarters of the government responded to the situation.
01:06:56But where the opposition differs from the government in this condemnation
01:07:00is they are also putting the blame, pinning the blame on the government
01:07:05and the Sangha Parivar ecosystem for, you know,
01:07:08saying that this hate is actually a reflection of the kind of politics
01:07:14that the government party in power represents.
01:07:18So that has been major difference between the two narratives
01:07:21that's being pushed after the incident,
01:07:24unfortunate incident in the Supreme Court.
01:07:26Back to you, Anjali.
01:07:27All right, Amit, thank you so much for those details and for that context.
01:07:30The sacred Sabrimala Shrine is at the centre of a glittering scandal.
01:07:354.5 kilos of temple gold missing.
01:07:38The Kerala High Court has ordered an SIT probe
01:07:40and the row has erupted into a full-blown political storm
01:07:44with the opposition accusing the CPM government
01:07:47of turning even temple gold into corruption gold.
01:07:50The Sabrimala Shrine is hit by a gold scam.
01:08:01The Kerala High Court has ordered a probe
01:08:04by a special investigation team into the Sabrimala gold-plating row.
01:08:08A controversy that has shaken faith and politics alike in the state.
01:08:13A bench of Justices Raja Vijay Raghavan and KV Jayakumar
01:08:24directed the SIT, headed by SPS Sassidharan
01:08:28and supervised by ADGP H Venkatesh,
01:08:32carry out a confidential court-monitored probe.
01:08:37Honorable Kerala High Court has ordered an institution of SIT
01:08:41to probe the misappropriation of gold at Sabrimala.
01:08:47ADGP Mr. Venkatesh will be in charge of the investigation
01:08:50and it will be conducted by former Crime Branch SP Mr. Sassidharan.
01:08:57The probe comes after the Travancourt Deva Somboad's
01:09:00vigilance report which revealed discrepancies
01:09:03in the weight of gold-plated copper sheets.
01:09:07Nearly 4.5 kilograms of gold is missing
01:09:10after the Dwar Palika idols were replated in 2019.
01:09:16There is something really fishy about what's going on.
01:09:20The allegations are literally many kilos of gold
01:09:23seem to have been siphoned off.
01:09:25I think we really have to ensure the investigators
01:09:27thorough, professional, that the trail must be
01:09:31taken to its logical conclusion.
01:09:33Wherever the trail leads, the culpable must be found.
01:09:36The BGP has slammed the CPM government,
01:09:40alleging even temple gold isn't safe from corruption.
01:09:45The party has called for a protest march
01:09:47to the chief minister's residence on Wednesday.
01:09:49It is shocking, it is shameless,
01:09:53it is taking corruption to an unforgivable level
01:09:58where even temples are now not out of reach
01:10:02for those who are corrupt.
01:10:04The workers and leaders of a political party
01:10:06or political parties would actually be stealing
01:10:09and be party to 4.5 kgs of gold
01:10:13that have disappeared from the Shabarimala.
01:10:15The issue also robbed the Kerala Assembly.
01:10:21Opposition stormed the well of the House,
01:10:23demanding the resignation of Devaso Minister
01:10:26V. N. Vasawan and TTVP President P. S. Prasad.
01:10:32Speaker A. N. Shamsir was forced to adjourn proceedings.
01:10:35Our demand is that it has to be investigated
01:10:41by the Central Bureau of Investigation
01:10:43under the supervision of the Honourable High Court of Kerala.
01:10:48Number two, the minister for Devaso should resign.
01:10:53And you have to expel, the government has to expel
01:10:57that Devaso board president and other concerned authorities.
01:11:00As SIT begins its probe,
01:11:04the Sabarimala gold draw has become
01:11:06more than just a temple controversy.
01:11:09It's a test of faith, governance and credibility,
01:11:13right ahead of Kerala's election season.
01:11:16Bureau Report, India Today.
01:11:18And with that, it's a wrap on this bulletin.
01:11:21Thank you for watching India Today.
