02:43Oh
02:52So nice to see you all and there's a lot to congratulate Taylor Swift about but the one that I feel I ought to graduate is the new bit of finger jewelry
03:01The hardware upgrade? Yes
03:03Check it out
03:05Thank you
03:07Thank you
03:09Thank you
03:11I just like watch it like it's a TV. Yeah, I thought Greta was going to get out one of those things
03:21It was. It was my favourite show other than the paper
03:25Here's just a very quick reminder of the engagement announcement that broke the internet
03:30What was it? 35 million likes or something that photograph got. Oh my god
03:34And is that the actual proposal?
03:36It is actually so he really
03:39crushed it when it came to surprising me because
03:43We had actually filmed a podcast episode. He has a podcast called New Heights. Yeah, and we oh yeah
03:49We got some Americans. We've got yes, fantastic. So we we filmed the podcast for about three or four hours or whatever and
03:59Meanwhile behind his house. He was having the whole back garden turned into this
04:04Wow and one of the things that he put in there very strategically
04:09Was a wall of hedges that weren't there before and inside the hedges was my tour photographer
04:16Hiding in bushes that had not previously been there. It was you went all out 10 out of 10. Oh people are now going
04:22Oh, Jesus. I was going to propose this weekend. What's the point?
04:27That is amazing. Yeah, it's really fun that we actually have the exact moment. Yeah
04:33Congratulations to you and Cillian Murphy graduated to you. Yeah, you went and won an Oscar
04:46This is a great tour
04:48You know exactly what I'm like
04:50Cheers
04:52Cheers
04:54Cheers
04:56That's a serious laugh
04:58Was it after that Oscar win that you then met Taylor Swift?
05:03Yeah, we were at a party
05:06I had the whole gang and my family and my kids
05:10I don't think my kids were legally allowed to be there really. I mean, I don't know but they were they were delightful
05:16Your sons are the future of our of our world
05:20They were such great conversationalists. They were interesting and interested like that's the real accomplishment is thinking they're here, aren't they?
05:27Yeah, they're what one of them is here. Yeah
05:29Yeah, yeah
05:31There was one time
05:33I gotta
05:35Put the camera on him
05:37Somebody turn the camera
05:38Where is he?
05:39Oh, is it?
05:40Where is he?
05:41Maybe he's not here
05:42They're hiding
05:43He's not there, you can tell
05:44Oh my god, he is so brilliant
05:46Oh my god, that's ill
05:47Oh my god, that's ill
05:52If this is a game show, we've all just won a prize
05:56That was easy
05:58And Joni, Joni Smith, you're unusual I think in that you know that you've met Taylor Swift
06:03But you don't
06:04I don't know why everyone's saying that I don't remember where I met her
06:06Because we were drunk
06:07Oh, okay
06:10It was at the gold party and I remember that
06:13No, no, no
06:14It was at Madonna's party
06:15Was it at Madonna's party?
06:16It was at Madonna's party
06:17I think it was at Beyonce's party
06:18I was at Beyonce's party
06:19I was at Beyonce's party
06:20But I didn't meet you there
06:21I mean, we got a link up
06:23We got to get the group chat going
06:24This is how I know it was at Madonna's party
06:25Were you at the Beyonce party?
06:26I've not been invited to any of these parties
06:29But I remember
06:30I remember that the gossip was incredible
06:33But I don't remember what it was
06:35We were having a great night
06:37Yeah
06:38It was fantastic
06:39And Donal
06:40Hi, hi Dan
06:41No, no, no
06:43Thank you for having me
06:44Thank you
06:45I
06:47I'll bet
06:48I'll bet
06:49I'll bet good money
06:50I'll bet good money
06:51You know Cillian Murphy
06:52Um
06:53Not really
06:54Uh
06:55Yes, yeah, yeah
06:56One of my
06:57I mean like maybe my third or fourth filmed job
06:59Was in a film that Cillian was the lead in
07:01And he was
07:02And I met you when I was like 19 doing my first job
07:04And he's always been amazing
07:05Yeah
07:06An amazing actor
07:07An amazing person
07:08Yeah, I met Donal when he was doing a Martin McDonough play
07:10In the West End
07:11The Broadway
07:12And he was like
07:13Magnetic back then
07:14Back then?
07:15That was very cruel
07:16That was very cruel
07:17You should have seen him then
07:18That was very cruel
07:19That was very cruel
07:20That was very cruel
07:21You should have seen him then
07:22Yeah
07:23Well, listen
07:24We've got lots to talk about tonight
07:25But let's start with the big one
07:26Taylor Swift's new album for 12th is
07:28The Life of a Showgirl
07:30And
07:31This is exciting
07:33Here it is
07:34This is
07:35Black Show album
07:36And
07:37And
07:38You've gone all out
07:39Look at the fold out
07:40Yeah
07:41There's all kinds of stuff in there
07:42And
07:43This is cool
07:44The
07:45The album is the same colour as the
07:47The glittery
07:48Thank you for noticing
07:49Are they all like that or is this a collector's
07:50They're all like that
07:51It's
07:52It's
07:53It's
07:54It's
07:55It's
07:56It's
07:57I love creating vinyls that are
08:02Completely unique inside and just doing different things
08:05There's also a poem on the inside
08:07Saw it
08:08Saw it
08:09Vinyl flap
08:10And there's different poems on each variant
08:12Um
08:13And
08:14If
08:15No, I'm not going to tell about that
08:16But they'll figure that out
08:17There's something about the poems that's fun
08:19Oh
08:20Okay
08:21Yeah
08:22Please hold
08:23Yeah
08:24No, because I just got this
08:25So
08:26I haven't read the poem
08:28Now it's out today
08:29And it's kind of
08:30I mean you were writing these songs while the era's tour
08:33Was going on
08:34Yes
08:35I was writing it during the European leg which was
08:37Last summer
08:38And it was actually like the craziest schedule that we had on the European tour
08:42Like
08:43Um
08:44So I was more physically exhausted than usual because it was a three and a half hour show
08:47It's all in heels
08:49It
08:50It
08:51Was
08:52I was starting to sort of get sick and kind of worn down
08:53And so I thought I really need something to sort of spark up my imagination and creativity
08:57Yeah
08:58And hopefully that will fuel my physical exhaustion
09:02And it did
09:03Because I would do like three shows and then I would fly to Sweden and make three songs
09:08And then do three shows and it was having that little like secret passion project behind the scenes
09:13That was
09:14That really helped me not ever hit a wall on that tour
09:17Wow
09:18So
09:19Listen, we've got a little taste of the first single on the album
09:22Eh
09:23The Fate Of Ophelia
09:25Here it is
09:26New
09:27New
09:28New
09:29New
09:32New
09:33New
09:34New
09:35New
09:36New
09:37Shaking
09:39New
09:40New
09:41New
09:42New
09:43New
09:44New
09:45New
09:46New
09:47New
09:48New
09:49New
09:50New
09:51I couldn't have liked it more and you know what strikes me I remember you were on this show before and you were talking about how you write songs that are you know kind of in your wheelhouse they're easy for you to sing that song sounds like more of a stretch am I right or wrong yeah I think that I think it's a little bit harder to sing but I think the wheelhouse is a little bit of a bigger wheelhouse now that the Aero store happened like I'm a little bit like I think I could
10:21you know sort of do anything while running in heel I'm just sort of like it's given me the confidence to write like higher choruses and jump the octave and do falsetto stuff and like don't take a break for 35 seconds it's like I'm like I don't know like I'm pretty sure I could do it now that I've done that tour so let's talk about some of the other tracks on the album Opalite is such an earworm it's prop thank you it really is thank you my dad is excited somewhere that's his
10:51favorite oh great so it obviously appeals to the dad demographic
10:55no it doesn't it's also it's also yeah this is great no it's my fiance's favorite too oh okay yeah but
11:03and but opalite I think there's a beautiful idea behind the idea of opalite yeah it's it's basically I
11:09become obsessed with certain phrases or words and one of the words on my long list was opalite because I
11:16learned that just like they can do man-made diamonds you can do man-made opals um and it's called opalite
11:22and I just thought that that was such an interesting metaphor if you take it and you apply it to the fact
11:28that oftentimes in life we have to make our own happiness it's not just there it's not just naturally
11:33in place we have to make our own happiness and get through life and it says like you had to make your own
11:39sunshine but now the sky is opalite and it's just basically like you you are happy because you did
11:45that on your own it's kind of like fake yourself happy kind of thing exactly fake it till you make
11:49it I do that all the time yeah I believe you've done it really successfully write the book and I
12:01mentioned the ears tour I'm sure lots of people here were at that uh it was phenomenal it was so so
12:10good the thing that was and this is not a complaint wow yeah I think that was Wembley that looks like
12:15Wembley three and a half hours when did you know was it like opening night when you realized oh this
12:23is three and a half hours we tried so hard to get it to be shorter than that but that I just I just I
12:31wanted to over deliver you know I I really wanted people to get more than they expected it just really
12:39felt like something that I had to do because I'm like I know these tickets are gonna be hard to get I
12:44didn't know how hard they would be to get and people are gonna like I don't know people have lives and
12:50priorities and if they're gonna dedicate any part of those lives to coming to this big show to
12:55packing stadiums like this I want to over deliver on production over deliver on the length of it the
13:01exertion the the the kind of surprises they're seeing and I'm really I'm endlessly proud of feeling
13:08like we achieved that oh you so did you really really did people were there I thought it was so lovely being in the
13:19stadium the atmosphere you knew that in that stadium have already been like 90,000 people
13:23nothing bad was happening no one was having a fight there was no argy bargy kicking off
13:29everyone was having the loveliest time it was the loveliest time yeah and people I would hear all these
13:33stories about people making friends and the whole friendship bracelet thing was pretty beautiful too
13:38where people would make friendship bracelets and they would trade them with each other and they'd meet each other
13:43they are the friendship bracelets yeah and it was kind of the sweet thing that the fans did on their own we
13:47didn't like market this this wasn't like a thing that we did or else I would have invested in beats
13:53Taylor we'll talk some more as we go on but for the moment just a reminder that the album the life of a showgirl is out now
14:04right
14:10Cillian Murphy Cillian Murphy brings us an extraordinary new film it is called Steve it is in select cinemas and available globally on Netflix now and to give us a taste
14:19here's a bit of the trailer so they're asking everyone to describe themselves in three words
14:25focus
14:31cheeky
14:33sex doll busted
14:35angry and bored
14:37these are extraordinarily complex young people
14:43please tell me you know it's not all right to be out here at like breakfast time getting fully baked
14:49stevie dick this is the thing you can't just casually call me a dick
14:55how are you doing I'm worried about you
15:01all I want for you is to just speak to us because you're not alone sure
15:07all right
15:09all about you Steve let's talk about you
15:14Steve you can't do it all okay
15:17all right I'm here for you perhaps there's a limit
15:21you don't love me
15:25why do you fucking give a shit
15:28it really is an extraordinary film and brilliant brilliant performances in it
15:37and people might know Max Porter has written many ways and this is based on his book Shy
15:42yes
15:43which apparently you read and thought that isn't filmable
15:46yeah Max and me are pals and he gave me the like the proof of the book I was very lucky to read it before it came out
15:52and it's like a beautiful compassionate piece of work but it's all inside of Shy's head
15:58it's like a stream of consciousness from you know inside of his character's head and I thought like well some books shouldn't be adapted and then
16:05we were like we'd made two pieces of work together and then we thought we were trying to figure out what next to do next and then
16:13he had this brilliant idea to kind of spin the story on its axis and to kind of adapt the world of the book rather than the book itself
16:20so there was this minor character in it who was Steve and he kind of began to show that it all happens over 24 hours
16:27they began to show like the you know what happens over that day through Steve's eyes and then overlay it with Shy's experience
16:34and who is Steve?
16:36so Steve I guess is a very overworked, underpaid, quite broken, trying to do the right thing, headmaster of a kind of reform school in the 90s in Britain
16:47and it's interesting you decided to keep it in the 90s
16:50yeah
16:50why did you decide to not bring it to now?
16:53I mean well there's a few reasons, the music was so good then
16:57and like Max is obsessed with drum and bass and he wrote the book Listen to Drum and Bass and I was 20 in 96
17:08my kids and Aaron, he's like 18 now so and also we could tell a story where we didn't have to deal with smartphones and the internet and all that
17:16yeah yeah yeah and you talk about the music in this film, the 90s drum and bass, was that your, because you took music very seriously, was that your music?
17:25I love drum and bass, I always found it really difficult to dance to, do you know, there's a lot going on, it's very thrashing
17:32yeah, it's all that polyrhythms in it, I could never, I was never that guy, no, but, but I, I did listen to it and
17:39yeah, but when I say you took your music seriously, you were in a band and not just, you know, and often people were in bands, did you, you got a five album deal?
17:48what?
17:49well, yeah, technically we did, yeah, yeah
17:52what does that mean?
17:53I mean, yeah, we, we were kids and we, yeah, we got offered, we got offered this record deal, um, I don't know why I'm telling you
18:00yeah, so enjoy your chart success, it could have been me
18:07five albums is too long a term, yes, I thought it's too long a term, they'll just sign us up young for five albums
18:12that's it, that was part of it, it was, because I, my brother's in the band and he was only 18, my parents went, no
18:18oh, was that, was it, was your parents, because I got, because I, because normally you would pick, like the first bit of success you find, you cling on to it, but you turned it down
18:25well, it was, they wouldn't let him, they wouldn't let him ruin his life, so they allowed me to go and potentially, but then we all just disbanded and it didn't happen
18:33and this was Mr. Green Jeans, sons of Mr. Green Jeans, sons of Mr. Green Jeans, yeah, we've got a picture of you here, now, is that the bus station in Cork?
18:41wow, that's the bus station in Cork City, yeah, oh yeah, I thought it was, I don't know, that's fantastic, that's good
18:47I mean, I don't know, is that building still there anymore?
18:51it is, yeah, poor people might not, it is?
18:53it is, yeah, yeah, is that lovely old, um, that I don't know, I haven't been inside for some time, don't get the bus anymore
18:59who do you think I am?
19:03and actually, talking of you, Greta, you were in a band
19:07oh really? uh huh
19:09what? no, you were, you took music really seriously
19:11I did? yeah
19:13um, so Killian and Taylor
19:15I am also a musician
19:17well no, we've got an adorable, this is a picture
19:19I want to know more
19:21no, this is, this isn't quite a radio tour, but it's kind of there, you're very young, and you're doing a gig
19:27is this a shopping mall you're in? yeah
19:29now here you are, how old are you here?
19:31oh my god
19:33yes!
19:35I think I was 11
19:37and I'm singing, you can see the Vocal Power Institute
19:39yes
19:41I'm, uh, in front of Mervyn's
19:43um, in a, uh, in a mall
19:45that's incredible
19:47is it Christmas time?
19:49uh, I hope so, for that answer
19:51but it just, it doesn't look like there's any Christmas decorations or anything
19:55you look like you're dressed in the French Resistance
19:57yeah, I know
19:59great outfits, great outfits are, they've been happening since for a long time, I see
20:03I think I was doing a cover of New York, New York
20:07um, which is all, it all makes sense
20:09it's amazing
20:10we are in LA
20:11it's Christmas for only one person
20:13and there I am
20:15so, it's a whole theme
20:17what happened to that dream?
20:19uh, what do you mean?
20:21well
20:22no, that's, that's, that's just what I'm doing
20:24uh, aspiring, I'm here to announce my, uh, my album
20:31yeah
20:33yeah
20:35yeah
20:37Taylor didn't know that there's some competition
20:40yeah
20:41yeah
20:42it's the past life of a showgirl
20:43yeah, yeah
20:44exactly
20:45exactly
20:46a Christmas album
20:47yes, that nobody wanted
20:48a spectacular event
20:50well, look at you now
20:51our, our next movie tonight is
20:53Greta Lee and Jodie Turner-Smith together in the new Disney blockbuster Tron Aries
20:57it's in cinemas from the 10th of October
21:00that is next Friday
21:01so a lot of people
21:03yeah
21:04love Tron
21:05yes
21:06the previous two Tron films
21:07thank God
21:08so what's happening in the Tron world now?
21:10take it away somebody
21:11hey
21:12okay, well normally
21:13this is about, like, humans always going into the grid, right?
21:16that iconic first film, 1982
21:19some of us weren't born yet
21:21but
21:22you know, Jeff Bridges
21:25goes into the grid, he goes into the computer
21:27which was so
21:28and it was also
21:29the 1982 film was the first time
21:31that any film had computer generated images
21:34which at the time was absolutely
21:35they were like
21:36this is not filmmaking
21:37yeah
21:38they were disqualified from the Oscars that year
21:40because it was considered cheating
21:41to use computers
21:42really?
21:43yeah
21:44to use special effects
21:45so it really, it really changed the face of our business as well
21:47so it's like incredibly iconic
21:48yeah
21:49and then the second film
21:50was in, was called by Daft Punk
21:52again, just like visually so incredible
21:54and now
21:56we are coming out of the grid
21:58into the real world
21:59sweet Jesus
22:00that's what's happening now
22:01that's amazing
22:02and by we, I mean me
22:03we've got a clip
22:05this is the two of you
22:07as Eve and Athena
22:08and uh
22:09sensing here
22:10that you, you don't get along
22:12time to get back to the grid
22:15leave alone
22:16move alone
22:18mmm
22:20and
22:22mmm
22:23oh
22:36ah
22:37and
22:38you
22:39You're a very persistent user.
22:55Ooh, what happened to this?
22:56Anything could happen.
23:01Anything.
23:02And Greta, you, you know, you kick ass in this film.
23:08Yeah.
23:09So you decided you were going to get in shape for this film.
23:11Actually, I was reminded of something.
23:14Taylor, I had heard that there's something you do to prepare for your tours.
23:19Yes.
23:20Tourable.
23:21Treadmill.
23:22While singing.
23:23Doing the whole set list while doing...
23:24No way.
23:25Yeah, yeah.
23:26It's one of the worst things I did.
23:27Three and a half hours.
23:28It worked, but it's incredibly...
23:29It worked.
23:30It didn't work for me.
23:31Oh, my God.
23:33I tried that and failed.
23:36And it's...
23:37I don't think it's a spoiler, but there's a...
23:38I have to run a lot in this movie.
23:41And there's a difference between, you know, an athlete...
23:44I have to play a human person who is running for their life.
23:47So, when you read a script, you have to pay attention for things like running for your
23:54life, running, and how many times that appears in a script.
23:57Yeah, yeah.
23:58Because, actually, that's tiring.
24:00Turns out.
24:01It is.
24:02And you can do all the things to train and prepare.
24:05And we certainly did to get into top physical form to do this movie.
24:11And we got all the trainers.
24:13I had, you know, the guy who trains Brad Pitt, all the Chrises and me.
24:18All the Chrises and you.
24:19Yes.
24:20That's so good.
24:21Wow.
24:22And, you know, former ex-Navy seal.
24:26And then we realized, because you were also doing your thing, and we looked good.
24:31I'm in my 40s.
24:32I had abs for the first time ever.
24:35Wow.
24:36Nice.
24:38Shout out to Alex.
24:39However, we realized none of it would be shown.
24:44We were covered head to toe.
24:47Deeply upsetting.
24:48Yes.
24:49And I even...
24:50I mean, all that hard work, can you imagine?
24:53I mean, with the Chrises and...
24:55Sometimes it's okay to object to our women, okay?
24:57Yes.
24:58It genuinely was so upsetting after our first fittings, our light suit fittings.
25:05We...
25:06I even pitched to the director a fight scene where our characters could tear each other's clothes
25:13off.
25:14And strategically sort of, like, rip Athena's stomach.
25:18Can you show...
25:19Can you show the work?
25:20Three of the abs.
25:21Please.
25:22At least.
25:23I didn't go for it, unfortunately.
25:24I didn't.
25:25And this was not about sex.
25:26This was strictly vanity.
25:27Yeah.
25:28I am working so hard.
25:30So hard.
25:31So hard.
25:32Someone see this eight pack.
25:33Yeah.
25:34I know.
25:35But now you know.
25:36So at least there's someone.
25:37You got the word out.
25:38and every step...
25:39You guys know, right?
25:41Yeah.
25:42D...
25:43All you do.
25:44But Donald, you have been to the physical rigors of big fantasy movies and things,
25:49because you were in Star Wars, Harry Potter and Black Mirror.
25:54Now Black Mirror, you really suffered for your art.
25:57You really suffered from that was crazy. Thank you Taylor
26:03It was it was crazy. I thought about that for months so good
26:08Yeah, so basically it was this was Channel 4 Black Mirror is before it went to Netflix and got the big books
26:14So this was quite low-budget and I am in it at the beginning and then my character dies
26:19And then he comes back as a sort of a replicant of himself
26:22And the decision was made away from me that he should he appears for the first time from the bathroom
26:28naked and
26:29The decision was made by somebody else that he should be also hairless from the neck
26:33From the neck down
26:35And I was like sci-fi baby. I mean, how are we gonna go about this?
26:38And they I just got back to my trailer at lunchtime. There was a chicken salad and an electric razor
26:49Lunch I've ever had
26:51Yeah, and and I probably had an eight-pack, but I can't remember. Yeah
26:57And now Killian you are such a big fan of Tron. Tell us what you did. Oh
27:02Yes, I asked to be in the Tron. Which one was it the one?
27:07Second legacy
27:09Legacy, yeah, yeah, so I was in that briefly I did like one day in it. Yes
27:15Uncle Dillinger here
27:17You are in the family tree and and then Taylor am I writing the video for bad blood the bit is is a bit of that a Tron reference?
27:34Yeah, we made a little reference to it with I did a music video for the song bad blood with Joseph Kahn and yeah, Jessica Alba
27:41Yeah, she had one of that. We've got a clip. Let's
27:45A little clip of you doing your Tron
27:47Oh, yeah
27:49Yes, it's giving Athena
27:51Right? Look out. She's so amazing
27:56And baby now we got bad blood
27:58Wow
27:59Hey
28:00I think they might have based Athena off of this music video because I'm looking at it and I'm like, wait a minute
28:07I mean it might have based Athena
28:09It would be an honor. Yeah, that was one of my favorite directors to work with Joseph Kahn and Taylor we should celebrate because of course, you now own that video
28:17Yes, you do
28:19Yes, you do
28:21Yes, you do
28:25Yes, cheers
28:27Yes, cheers
28:29Yes, cheers
28:31Yes, cheers
28:33Yes, cheers
28:35Okay, so
28:37No, no
28:38Basically, my big long lifelong dream came true recently which was that I was able to buy all of my music, all of my music videos
28:46The artwork, the album covers, it's everything it's so it's it's your entire catalog and thankfully they weren't they didn't split it up first
28:58They didn't like sell it off sell the music videos these people the album artwork to these people
29:02This album did this it thankfully was all still one
29:07Acquisition but thank you to everyone who came to the heirs tour. That's why I was able to
29:16Imagine it's man. I'm sorry. It's crazy to still talk
29:21Like it's so you and you know like this is you you've changed the business by what you've done. Thank you
29:27I mean, this is this is so cool. It's thank you
29:38Everyone's problem
29:40It's like I very you know, I've I have this policy where I do not respond to like rage baiting
29:46People who want to like try to like provoke me in in a multitude of ways. I don't respond to stuff
29:53But when some this pissed me off so much
29:56Yes, then I that I did say what was going on in my life
30:00Which was that all of the music I had made for my first six albums was sold out from under me
30:05I had been trying to buy them for a very long time. I didn't think I should be given them
30:09I know that they're worth money
30:11I want you to buy them at a premium was willing to it was never given the opportunity to and so I ended up
30:18re-recording and re-releasing
30:20Four of those six albums and I think that that was a huge part of why I was able to get them back the fans really got behind them and
30:28Championed this entire cause I could not be more grateful. I still can't believe it happened
30:32It's it's the craziest thing ever and thank you for bringing that up and for caring
30:43From a big kind of corporate entity and you imagine that there'd be army of lawyers talking to another army of lawyers
30:48But that is not how it went down now. I sent in my mom and my brother
30:51No, no, I so basically it was my music was owned by a company called shamrock capital
31:05We had to try to figure out how to convince them to sell a very lucrative
31:10Entity to us even though it was still making them loads of money
31:14And so I was like the only people for the job are the people who have known me my entire life who know this entire journey
31:20I've been on who have been supporting me and who I work with every day
31:24They both work with me and they are like the smartest people I know and also the most compassionate the kindest
31:31The people who could tell the story of what we've been through as a family. So they went in
31:37And they got my music back for me
31:44By the end of the night Jody and me are gonna be
31:46I know what I heard about him
31:49I heard that same thing but work. I think we started there actually yeah
31:53Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was like girl
31:55Listen, we move on to Donald Gleeson's latest work. It's a very funny new sitcom. It's called the paper all episodes are streaming on
32:02And now and now this show people have heard about it
32:18They know that it is related in some way to the American office. Yeah discuss
32:25Discuss you say tell us at length
32:27Yeah, basically it's the documentary crew from the American office
32:31Yeah, all these years later go looking for a Dunder Mifflin, which was the paper company that they all worked in and
32:37They kind of run out of road, but end up in this place in the Midwest a place called Toledo, Ohio
32:41and they find a an old sort of newspaper that's fallen on hard times a
32:47Local newspaper and it's really not doing well
32:49And they're sharing half the floor with it with the toilet paper company who are doing way better than them and just as they arrive to film this
32:57newspaper and a new editor-in-chief arrives who really wants to make them a great paper again because they're really bad and
33:05He wants to make them
33:07He wants to make them matter
33:09We've got a clip. This is you trying to impress your new bosses
33:13Marv and some of his team are working on this floor while his offices are being painted
33:18Which means he can see everything that we're doing. We're enjoying this meeting. Everyone's sort of nodding nodding a little bit
33:25Okay, yes, right. Yes. I am actively agreeing with you now
33:28You act like you came up with another good idea put up your hand put up your hand. Yes. I don't yes. Yes. Yes. Yes
33:33That is a great idea. I'm gonna write that down. Does that look like I'm writing it down?
33:37Yeah, good good good weird maybe we should just have a real meeting now Adalola you're pointing you're pointing and
33:44Everyone's nodding and I am agreeing and Barry you stand up you stand up. I think everyone's nodding now
33:49We're all nodding at Barry. Yes now Detrick you're gonna jump out of your chair with enthusiasm
33:53You're gonna high-five Oscar go. Yes, and oh
33:57Fantastic fantastic and we're clapping we're clapping and we're thumbs upping. We're thumbs upping and we're nodding
34:03Feel the energy and we're smiling
34:07It is it's properly properly funny and I heard you talking about as an actor how weird it is to then be in a kind of mockumentary that
34:22That's hard as an actor. Oh, yeah
34:24You spend your life being told not to look straight down the lens and and somebody will scold you if you do that
34:29And they have to scrap the take and then all of a sudden you're on a job and they're encouraging you to look down the lens more and kind of have a real
34:35Relationship with the camera which is part of what made the UK office great and made the US office great
34:41And I think it's part of this the people everyone does it in a different way
34:44It's kind of really cool. Is it something you had to learn if you don't mean? Oh, yeah, I was terrible at it
34:48Yeah, yeah, I wasn't doing it enough and Chelsea who was in it who's fantastic plays mayor
34:53They told her after like three episodes you need to stop looking at the camera so much
34:56And they told me you need to look at the camera a lot more. Yeah, can I just say donald's magnetic in that show?
35:01I love that I love that show
35:03I want to say I'm so happy it's coming back and his character is like it's so good loveliest most romanticizing character
35:10He like romanticizes his life and it's really sweet and beautiful and also I don't think that you just sound American you seem American
35:16Yeah, so good like you have to leave you have to leave that in the show
35:23Skyrocket Thank You Taylor
35:33It's just worth watching for donald's dancing alone. Oh, right. Yes, absolutely
35:37Yeah, I'm hoping to get in the Taylor Swift music video
35:46The American accent
35:50Thank you, that's very nice. I'm terrible at accents normally and I've worked really hard on that, so I'm happy at work
35:59This is the first time you've ever lived in LA you moved to LA for this yeah, I was over there for like four or five months
36:06I was over there Tim key is was also over there is a fantastic
36:09Hey, very funny man, so yeah, there's a few of us away from home on that
36:13It was amazing because you're like working in an old like the old studio like Universal Studios and you go in past the
36:18Fake New York Street and all the rest of it and then every morning you're going to work in this place where they've built an office
36:24It was beautiful. Yeah, and good news is you can stay in LA because am I right? It's been recommissioned. Yes, it's season two
36:31Yeah
36:33Thank you very much. Thank you
36:36Very nice. Yeah, yeah, we're really happy about it. Yeah, well, I think we go back January or February we go back and we do another season
36:41Yeah, this is also returning is Peaky Blinders Killian
36:48So there's a movie
36:50Yeah, so is movie done or yeah, so it's done. Yes, and now here's the thing
36:55I love the fact that Peaky Blinders was so successful that that haircut Tommy's haircut in the early series
37:01It kind of took off. It became like, you know, became a thing. I mean, it's so disgusting
37:09Yeah, but you know this the story behind that is it's to prevent lice infestation
37:14Wait, why? How?
37:16Because if you have no hair the lice can't
37:18But there's still all that up on top
37:20They know what that is up there
37:22But maybe they can't even know how to travel
37:24You get like a 60% better chance of not getting them like this
37:26Yeah
37:28Dr. Donal, I mean, I'm in my trailer just doing the thing
37:30Yeah, that's amazing
37:32That's amazing
37:33And when is the movie gonna be in the world?
37:35Next year
37:36Next year
37:37Okay
37:39All right
37:40And because you're here Taylor, I've got to ask you
37:43Is next year the wedding year? Is that when it's happening?
37:46Oh, you'll know
37:50So you're going big
37:51I just mean that I was going to invite you to it
37:54If you're inviting me, it's very big
38:02It's huge
38:06I think I can see Taylor
38:11Well, I'm sure it'll be a fabulous day
38:13Are you in the middle of planning it all now?
38:15No, I just am doing the album thing now
38:18Which is a big thing
38:19Yes
38:20And then I think the wedding is what happens after that
38:23Okay
38:24In the scheme of the planning
38:26Okay
38:27But I'm really, you know, I'm so excited about it
38:30I'm just like
38:32I know it's going to be fun to plan
38:34Because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount
38:39And people are on the bubble
38:41Yeah
38:42Right?
38:43Yes
38:44And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them
38:47Yeah
38:48To see if they should be there
38:49Yeah
38:50I'm not going to do that
38:51Okay
38:52This is why you're invited
38:53Obviously anyone I've ever talked to
38:54Thanks, Greta
38:55Thanks, Greta
38:56Thanks, Greta
38:57There's no bubble, you'll be there
38:58Yes, please
38:59I'll take it
39:00No, it's like
39:01Oh, we had to have hung out eight times
39:03Yeah, yeah
39:04It's like you're on the bubble
39:05Yeah
39:06We've hung out five times
39:07Do you know what I mean?
39:08We don't have to think about it
39:09It's going to be fun
39:10I shouldn't have said any of that
39:11Well, listen
39:12Seriously, we just wish you all the best
39:14Thank you
39:15Thank you so much
39:16And have a lovely, lovely day
39:17Thanks
39:18Thank you, Regina Swift
39:19It's exciting

43:54We met...
43:55I stood behind you
43:56I stood in front of you
43:57And I admired your back
43:59For a Fontaine's DC gig
44:01Yeah, that's right
44:02And New York
44:03I kept on asking if you
44:04You know what I mean?
44:05If you and your friends wanted to stand in front of us
44:06You're the most conscientious tall man I've ever met in my life
44:08Thank you very much
44:09Thank you very much
44:10Yeah, yeah, that was lovely
44:11Good times

44:18Oh, okay
44:19Don't you remember?
44:20Don't you remember?
44:22Heavily pregnant
44:23Yeah, and I swore and I apologise to your baby bump
44:26You did
44:27I've often wondered if your child's first word was
44:29I don't know
44:30Cunt
44:31I wondered if it would be that true
44:33I wondered if it would be that true
44:34Thank you
44:35It was Mama
44:36Thank you
44:37Good, good, good, good
44:38That was probably the three years of breast milk I gave her

44:44Now, er...
44:46The song is beautiful
44:48Oh, thank you very much
44:49It's sunny
44:50It's so gorgeous

44:55Something in the heavens
44:56But it's from an upcoming EP
44:57Er, yeah
44:58I was told I wasn't allowed to talk about it
45:00Oh
45:01What? By who?
45:02What am I?
45:03Fuck it, yeah, it's coming out
45:07The EP

45:24Listen
45:28Songs
45:31I'm excited about it
45:32Yeah
45:33Well, it was
45:34It was so gorgeous
45:35When that triumphant returned to Glastonbury
45:36Yeah
45:37Which was just
45:38It made everyone so happy
45:42You've got the same outfit on
45:43Yeah, yeah
45:44The identical outfit
45:46You've very graciously pointed out that
45:47And we're in the exact same fucking train
45:50Yeah
45:53If it's not broke
45:54If it looks good
45:56Yeah
45:57Right
45:58If it looks okay, let's wear it again
45:59Yeah
46:00And I hope you don't mind me bringing this up
46:02Because I think people should know this
46:04You took
46:05Between Glastonbury's
46:06It was 734 days off
46:08Yeah
46:09And you did an amazing thing
46:11Tell the people what you did
46:12We
46:13Yes, we partnered with BetterHelp
46:15They'll be glad that I'm saying their name on this programme
46:17Erm
46:18And we, er, yeah
46:19We partnered with BetterHelp
46:20And we gave
46:21To give out
46:22730,000 hours of free therapy to people
46:25Wow
46:26Isn't that amazing?
46:27Yeah
46:28Yeah
46:29Very
46:30It's such an amazing thing to have done
46:31Yeah
46:32Yeah
46:33Yeah
46:34Yeah
46:35There's a lot
46:36There's a lot of mentally ill people out there, Graham
46:37And they need my help
46:38But, no, no
46:39But it's serious
46:40That's a serious amount of time to donate
46:42Yes
46:43And, er
46:44Listen
46:45I hope people use it
46:46And therapy's been a big thing for me
46:47And getting, like
46:48You know
46:49Getting back to this position
46:50And getting back to a place
46:51Where I can feel comfortable enough
46:52To come and do this stuff
46:53And, er
46:54Obviously it's not accessible
46:55And some
46:56Some people
46:57You know
46:58Different people's situations
46:59So, er
47:00We want to try and
47:01Give
47:02You know
47:03Just give back to the people
47:04You know
47:05No, seriously

47:15Tour coming up
47:16Yeah

47:18And the ones that aren't
47:19Are all new dates
