00:00you know either younger than us or you know past and retired so why not you know I want to
00:08challenge myself the best always looking to fight the best and challenge they self you know and why
00:13not you know challenge. Terrence Crawford can't beat him right this is a money grab for Terrence
00:21Crawford it's just a situation where Terrence Crawford is trying to fill up his bank account
00:27opposed to actually his legacy. But if you study Floyd closely like I have you will notice that he
00:36never wastes any steps while he's in the ring. During a live interview with Stephen A. Smith
00:42Terrence Crawford openly accepted Floyd Mayweather's fight offer. For Crawford boxing has never been
00:48about comfort or safety it's always been about testing limits and chasing challenges no matter
00:52how big they seem. He spoke with the calm confidence of a man who knows his worth saying that the best
00:58fighters should always step in against the best. Once again Crawford is ready to rise to the occasion
01:03facing Mayweather in his words is just another way to prove himself to silence doubters and to push past
01:09every expectation laid before him this man because this is Terrence the businessman talking right
01:14they got to pay the cheddar to make it better right? For sure for sure all money ain't good money so you
01:21got to know that. Okay fair enough um I hate to use the word easy but at times it did feel like you were
01:28you know having a really easy time out there were you expecting it to play out that way?
01:33Listen it's never easy you know. Stephen A. Smith has never been shy when speaking about sports
01:40and when it comes to boxing his words carry weight. When he praised Terrence Crawford for
01:45becoming a world champion in four different weight divisions it wasn't just casual applause
01:49it was a genuine acknowledgement of something rare in the modern era. Today many fighters hesitate to
01:55move across divisions because the risks are high yet Crawford not only moved he dominated in four
02:01weights. Stephen A. explained that this versatility combined with his technical mastery and mental
02:07toughness makes Crawford an all-time pound-for-pound great. It proves he's not just a physical talent
02:13but a relentless competitor who always seeks out the hardest challenges.
02:18Terrence Crawford is the best fighter on the planet. Pound-for-pound he's that dude. In this four-belt
02:26era he is now the undisputed world champion three times over 140 pounds 147 now 168 pounds claiming all
02:38the belts. You don't see people doing that very often going up against a guy who was perceived as
02:44being bigger and stronger Crawford was strong. Crawford was strong enough to fend him off strong
02:50enough to make him respect his own power. He used his jab. He used his distance. He had poise in the ring.
02:58He wasn't rattled. He backed up and moved when necessary and kept his different. He exchanged enough
03:04to gain respect when necessary. It was a brilliant brilliant masterful fight on Terrence Crawford.
03:10Roy Jones Jr. himself a legend who knows the grind of conquering multiple divisions has praised
03:17Crawford's brilliance. He pointed to Crawford's performance against Canelo Alvarez where Crawford
03:22drew lessons from the strategies used by Floyd Mayweather and Arislandi Lara, two men who had
03:27given Canelo serious problems. But Roy highlighted something deeper. Crawford didn't copy. He adapted.
03:34He took their approaches and blended them into his own rhythm, making them even more dangerous.
03:39This ability to study, learn, and apply separates Crawford from fighters who rely on one style.
03:45He's not only a great athlete, he's a sharp student of the sport.
03:49As Canelo Alvarez has been a great fighter his whole career, people like Arislandi Lara gave you
03:54the blueprint on how to beat him. People like Floyd Mayweather also gave you the blueprint on how to
03:59beat him. But Bud is more fierce, more fearsome, and more angrier, and more meaner than both of those
04:06guys. So you know if they showed you the blueprint, Bud is going to go out there and take that blueprint and do
04:10even more with it, which is what Bud did. So it was never a question in my mind whether Bud really
04:16was going to outbox me. It's just if he could take the punch. And right away he showed, bam,
04:20he could take the punch. So I know from that point, if he just slow him down, which he did,
04:24he'd be okay. Then late in the fight, what other people still didn't see, late in the fight, Bud
04:28started hitting Canelo's body. One of those body shots, I think about the 7th or 8th round, hurt Canelo.
04:32I was like, whoa, Bud hit him in the right spot then. He got Canelo's respect with that too. So
04:38Bud fought a very, very awesome fight, fought a beautiful fight, very tactical. Very controlled.
04:43Yes, it was a beautiful fight for boxing. It was a beautiful fight. You know, Bud got hit with some
04:47shots. He did. He did. He got hit with some single shots going out. You know, he's going out and you
04:53know Canelo, if he has you trapped in the corner or along the ropes, it's typically one to two big shots.
04:58You know that if you've watched him. So you could tell Crawford, as he was going out,
05:03he knew the one shot was coming. And several times it landed. He even got hit with a two-piece.
05:08I don't remember what round it was, an uppercut right hand that Crawford took well. So when you
05:12started seeing him absorb the shots, if you're team Crawford, you don't want him to take that shot.
05:17But if you started seeing that, now you know that, okay. And I think that's what gave
05:23Crawford the green light to stay there a little bit longer.
05:26The idea of Crawford stepping into the ring with Floyd Mayweather, even in an exhibition,
05:43has sparked heated debate. Critics argue that such a move could hurt Crawford's legacy. Instead of
05:48building further on his historic victories over Errol Spence and Canelo Alvarez, they fear it would
05:54look like he's chasing money, not history. After all, Mayweather's recent career has revolved around
05:59highly paid exhibitions, not true legacy fights. But others counter this by saying Crawford's place
06:05in history is already secure. For them, if Crawford chooses Mayweather, it would simply be another
06:10intriguing chapter in an already legendary story. For Terence Crawford. It's just a situation where
06:18Terence Crawford is trying to fill up his bank account, opposed to actually his legacy. This is
06:25what was being said, right? This is what people perceive Terence Crawford was just attempting to cash out.
06:35When fans compare Floyd Mayweather and Terence Crawford, the discussion quickly becomes complicated.
06:41Floyd's resume is stacked with big names, but critics often question the timing.
06:45When Floyd beat Canelo, Canelo was still young and inexperienced. When he fought Pacquiao in 2015,
06:50Pacquiao was dealing with injury. Add to that, Floyd's refusal to grant rematches and doubts linger for
06:56many fans. Crawford, on the other hand, has faced opponents when they were considered at their peak,
07:01and he dominated. This contrast fuels the never-ending debate. Was Floyd's perfection
07:06purely a matter of skill, or was it also careful timing and matchmaking?
07:11Floyd Mayweather is still greater than Terence Crawford. We need to really talk about this now.
07:16A lot of you guys are putting Crawford a bit too high. If you want to say Crawford could beat
07:20Floyd, I'm more open to that conversation, but when you're lining up the careers, I'm going to say
07:25Floyd every time. While they're both five-division, Bud has become three-time undisputed,
07:29but he's only fought 10 world champions to Floyd's 25 world champions.
07:34You can't take away the five-division three-time undisputed. In terms of accolades, yeah,
07:38he probably gets the nod over Floyd. I say the accolades are about relative considering
07:43Floyd Mayweather one fighter of the decade as well. But when you get to the resumes, Pacquiao,
07:48Oscar, Canelo, Cotto, Mosley, Castillo, Castillo, Marquez, Zab, Gotti, Hatton, and Corley.
07:54There's probably way more people that this guy just didn't name. And then when you get to Bud's
07:58resume, not saying it's just bad, but the only names that's really worth mentioning
08:04is going to be Spence and Canelo. It's not a knock on Bud. Bud was not able to make those
08:09fights early on in his career, but I got to tell you guys what it is. Bud's resume just
08:15doesn't line up with Floyd's. Take their top 20 wins. Bud don't even got 20 wins to really sit here
08:21and name. Floyd got a good 20-something plus. Bud probably got about 15, 10 wins that we could
08:28really sit here and name. Floyd's still greater than Bud, in my opinion.
08:33Tony Jeff has pointed out that Floyd Mayweather's true weapon wasn't just defense or speed,
08:38it was his mindset. According to Jeff, Floyd's unshakable belief that he could beat anyone
08:44made him truly dangerous. Even in fights that looked close on paper,
08:48Mayweather's supreme boxing IQ and calmness under pressure gave him the edge. He could read opponents,
08:53adjust instantly, and never lose composure. Jeff explained that this mental dominance,
08:58combined with technical precision, made Floyd feel almost unbeatable. And it's exactly why he retired
09:04with an undefeated record of 50-0. Part 7. The Boxing World Loves Intriguing Matchups
09:10And one name that keeps coming up is Terrence Crawford vs. David Benavidez. Benavidez brings
09:16size, power, and relentless aggression. Qualities that present a unique test. Fans see it as the
09:22kind of fight that could push Crawford further than ever before. Though nothing has been made official,
09:26the buzz won't stop. This discussion shows what fans really crave. High-risk, legacy-defining battles
09:32instead of easy-money exhibitions. Crawford vs. Benavidez would be skill vs. size. Precision vs.
09:39aggression. A dream fight for boxing fans everywhere.
09:42A strong mindset. They're really confident. They really believe in themselves. But you need more
09:48than that mindset. You need to have the full package of everything that I'm talking about,
09:53what Floyd has got. Fighters! You fighters should only want to get better. The more you win,
09:58the more you should work harder. If you think about losing, you're gonna lose. All I ever thought about
10:02was winning. So that's all I know. Floyd would visualize his success before he even stepped into the ring.
10:08There was no alternative to him but winning. And this mindset isn't just for boxing. It's for
10:14all walks of life. And I've actually done a full video talking about how I used this mindset of
10:19visualization to win my Olympic medal. And it was an absolute game changer.
10:23Now, Floyd used to use this mindset to ease the pressure that he put himself under. And he made
10:29himself think like, I'm not under any pressure right now. Where he was under immense pressure.
10:35Pressure either makes you or break you. Well, you see where I'm at, so it's obvious that I'm the type of
10:41athlete or I'm the type of entertainer that can deal with pressure. There's never no pressure.
10:45Now, if you watch his fight in 2013, when he fought Canelo Alvarez, Canelo came in a young,
10:51strong, undefeated fighter. But by round two, Floyd kind of had him figured out. He was reading
11:00Canelo's jab. He would slip outside and then come back with a clean counter punch, then move his feet
11:06and get out of the way. He basically had the full fight under control. And he was controlling the full
11:12rhythm of the fight. He was forcing Canelo to fight at his pace. And this is what he would do
11:18in all of these fights. He would get his opponent to do what he wanted them to do without their
11:25opponent even realizing it, which is what we call boxing IQ. Now, even though I'm not a fan of Floyd
11:33Mayweather personally, because of the time when I did meet him, what he said to me made me just feel
11:38like this guy is a piece of shit. Comparing Floyd Mayweather and Terrence Crawford is a debate
11:43without a clear answer. Both fought the best of their eras and both proved dominant. Floyd's perfect
11:48record and defensive genius set him apart in his time. Crawford's ability to move up weight classes
11:53and still control fights is equally remarkable. But the truth is, their eras and circumstances are
11:59simply too different for a fair comparison. In the end, declaring one greater than the other
12:04might be impossible. What's certain though, is that together they represent the absolute peak
12:09of boxing excellence.
12:13Not me, but shocked the world. This past Saturday, Mexican Independence Day weekend,
12:19when he took on and defeated another first ballot Hall of Famer, but he essentially jumped up three
12:24weight classes, technically two, from 154 to 168, but only had one fight at 154 last August
12:32against Israel Majumov. Terrence Crawford defeated Saul Canelo Alvarez, who is a four-division champion,
12:41two-time undisputed super middleweight, and the reigning, at the time, super middleweight world
12:46champion, undisputed world champion. And Terrence Crawford beat him handily and convincingly.
12:54And because he beat him so easily, now the 63 win, three loss, two draw, 39 win by way of knockout,
13:02biggest threat has been now imposed on Terrence by Crawford. And that's the Mexican Ecuadorian monster,
13:12David Benavidez, who is a two-division undefeated world champion, is the
13:18two-time WBC super middleweight and reigning WBC light heavyweight. 175 pound champion, who has a record
13:27of 30 wins, no loss, no draw, 24 wins by way of knockout. He stands six foot two with a 75-inch army.
13:34This is a fight that David Benavidez has been calling from for Canelo Alvarez when he was at 168,
13:40and Canelo Alvarez strategically maneuvered around him. But Canelo Alvarez is 5'7", with a 70-inch
13:47army. Started his career at 147 pounds, made his real name at 154 pounds. He's not a big guy,
13:58okay? And styles make fights. Benavidez is 6'2", with a 75-inch army. His last fight at 168 against
14:06Demetrius Andre, he rehydrated to 193. So he's a big guy. Canelo Alvarez probably rehydrate
14:14to 182, maybe 185 max, right? He's not a big guy, right?
14:25Trainer Greg Hackett captured the meaning of Crawford's win over Canelo perfectly. He reminded
14:30everyone that for over a decade, Canelo was considered the most dominant and feared fighter
14:35in the sport. For Crawford to not only face him, but take control and break him down,
14:39was a shocking power shift. Hackett said it plainly, Crawford is now the predator,
14:45the fighter every other man fears. This wasn't just another win, it reshaped the boxing landscape.
14:50Crawford dethroned the shark and became the hunter at the very top of the sport.
14:55Because you gotta remember, Canelo is the guy right now in the sport that's supposed to be the man,
15:00you know, big bad wolf. You beat him, you the wolf. Now it's like, you know what I mean? Like,
15:07all right. Well, so I'm gonna fight. You beat the shark, you beat the wolf.
15:12Right. Like, you know what I mean? Ain't no more ops out there. It's ops out there,
15:16but who gon' make him really want to get up? That's the point.
15:21Shit gotta make sense. Like you said, you beat a shark, you beat a wolf, but there's the monster.
15:26He is, but that's like a real monster. Bro, that's the, to me it don't make sense, but that's what,
15:32That's really a monster. Yo, is that proof? All right, you got the legendary
15:37pape in the building. Legend. Chillin'. But, um,
15:41what makes sense? Like, what makes the most sense?
15:48I know you said get a line of suits, Brooks Brothers.
15:51Yeah, get a line of suits. Get a line of suits, get your money, man. Go in and get the easy money.
15:57You ain't gotta sweat no more. What's up?
15:59I'm not saying you ain't gotta work, you ain't gotta sweat. What's happening?
16:02He, he's paid, he's paid the career where he could sit down at a table and get this money.
16:08He could be, he could come out with a Terrence Crawford series now, just whatever, doing whatever
16:13he like to do. People gonna watch it. Nobody, nobody, the fighting part, people don't understand
16:18what it's like to be a fighter. You really, a lot of times, the fighters really don't be interested
16:23in certain fights. It's, it's cause, cause when a guy see himself up here, and then he's fighting a
16:28guy down here, it don't interest him. So therefore, when he trained, he not gonna really train.
16:33He's gonna train, but he not gonna train. He not gonna listen. He gonna feel like his
16:38coach taking the two series, and he's like, man, we ain't, this ain't even that.
16:41Crawford's victory over Canelo Alvarez wasn't just another win. It was a career-defining masterpiece.
16:47His dismantling of Errol Spence had already silenced most critics,
16:51showing his ability to control a fight from beginning to end. But Canelo was different.
16:56Canelo was thought to be nearly untouchable. When Crawford broke him down, it ended any debate.
17:01Analysts now agree that Crawford belongs among the all-time greats.
17:04His record of outclassing champions across multiple divisions is the ultimate proof of his dominance.
17:09History will remember this moment as the night Terence Crawford stamped his legacy forever.
17:14I think there was enough action, and I think Crawford displayed his skill enough,
17:21even to someone with not the most trained eye, that they know they saw a very high-level athlete
17:26perform something at a very high level last night. I think he gained the sports world's
17:30attention last night and respect. He already did after Spence, but it went to another level
17:34in this fight. And I think even the fight itself, like just from a median level, but then the moments
17:41where they were having these exchanges, like kind of late in the fight, then people were like,
17:45all right, it was good. They're like, okay. I saw somebody like, they're squabbin'. Like,
17:49there's a fight here. So I think it did. And Crawford closed the show. Yeah. In 10, 11, 12,
17:54he, he stood in there and landed some hard shots and rocked Canelo at the bell. He didn't,
18:00James was talking about the great Floyd Mayweather. Floyd would go up on you 8-0 and then coast and
18:05you might as well turn the fight off at midway through the ninth. Like, you know, he's not gonna,
18:09but, but Crawford didn't do that. That's it for today's video. Stay tuned until next time.
18:14And that's where we'll leave it for today's video. But this is only the beginning of the conversation.
18:18Stay tuned because the story of Terrence Crawford, Floyd Mayweather, and the future of boxing
18:23is far from over. Until next time.
