05:25Terrence Crawford defeated Saul Canelo Alvarez, who is a four-division champion, two-time undisputed super middleweight,

05:34and the reigning, at the time, super middleweight world champion, undisputed world champion.

05:40And Terrence Crawford beat him handily and convincingly.

05:44And because he beat him so easily, now the 63 win, three loss, two draw, 39 win by way of knockout,

05:53biggest threat has been now imposed on Terrence by Crawford.

05:59And that's the Mexican Ecuadorian monster, David Benavidez, who is a two-division undefeated world champion,

06:09is the two-time WBC super middleweight, and reigning WBC light heavyweight, 175-pound champion,

06:18who has a record of 30 wins, no loss, no draw, 24 wins by way of knockout.

06:22He stands 6'2 with a 75-inch army.

06:25This is a fight that David Benavidez has been calling from for Canelo Alvarez when he was at 168,

06:31and Canelo Alvarez strategically maneuvered around him.

06:35But Canelo Alvarez is 5'7 with a 70-inch army, started his career at 147 pounds,

06:42made his real name at 154 pounds.

06:48He's not a big guy, okay?

06:51And styles make fights.

06:52Benavidez is 6'2 with a 75-inch armage.

06:55His last fight at 168 against Demetrius Andre, he rehydrated to 193.

09:34Trainer Greg Hackett praised Crawford's incredible performance against Cunelo Alvarez.

09:40He described Cunelo as the shock of the sport, a long-time dominant force.

09:44But in Hackett's eyes, Crawford not only faced him but broke him down completely.

09:51Crawford is now seen as the top predator in boxing, the one everyone else should fear.

09:59After beating someone as elite as Cunelo, who's left that can truly test Crawford?

10:03And I think Crawford displayed his skill enough, even to someone with not the most trained eye,

10:10that they know they saw a very high-level athlete perform something at a very high level last night.

10:15I think he gained the sports world's attention last night and respect.

10:18He already did after Spence, but it went to another level in this fight.

10:21And I think even the fight itself, like just from a median level,

10:27but then the moments where they were having these exchanges, like kind of late in the fight,

10:31then people were like, all right, it was good.

10:32They're like, okay.

10:34I saw somebody like, they're squabbin'.

10:35Like, this is a fight here.

10:37So I think it did.

10:38And Crawford closed the show.

10:40So in 10, 11, 12, he stood in there and landed some hard shots and rocked Canelo at the bell.

10:46He didn't, when James was talking about the great Floyd Mayweather,

10:49Floyd would go up on you 8-0 and then coast and you might as well turn the fight off at midway through the ninth.

10:54Like, you know, he's not going to, but Crawford didn't do that.

10:58But he wasn't up 8-0, to be fair to Floyd.

11:00But he, and Floyd was when he fought Canelo, so he could do that.

11:04But Bud instead steps on the gas.

11:07Bud is a finisher.

11:08He closes really strong.

11:10He closes really strong in every exchange.

11:12That's one of his gifts.

11:14He's the best counterpuncher of his era.

11:15One of the greatest counterpunchers that lived.

11:17But the great fighters, James would tell us about this.

11:21James and Mike McCallum put on fights that exemplify what I'm talking about.

11:27Initiating and punctuating.

11:29Being first, being last.

11:32That's one of the things that makes Crawford who he is.

11:34So, no, I think it was a good enough fight that it certainly didn't hurt boxing.

11:40Yeah, I think Sport of Boxing delivered last night.

11:42I mean, Earl Crawford didn't deliver.

11:46Yeah.

11:48Experts largely agree that Crawford's dominant win over Canelo Alvarez was a defining moment of his career.

11:54Before this, his win over Errol Spence had already proven a lot.

11:59But defeating Canelo, a champion across many weight classes, elevated him even further.

12:05Crawford didn't just beat him.

12:06He controlled the entire fight.

12:08It proved that Crawford's skills work across all divisions, against any type of fighter.

12:13Today, many believe he has conquered every meaningful challenge in front of him.

12:18I mean, Prime Mayweather and Prime Crawford, I've tended to lean slightly towards Mayweather.

12:23But after that performance there against Canelo, not just the fact he won, the manner in which he won,

12:27I've changed my mind.

12:29I would now lean towards Prime Crawford over Mayweather.

12:31And the reason I say this is because of the expert way in which Terence Crawford mixed

12:37offensive in-the-pocket boxing with defensive on-the-move boxing.

12:42Not running, save for maybe a round or two.

12:45No, just moving nicely.

12:47Because if there's one area of Floyd Mayweather's game that was underdeveloped,

12:52it's his front foot game.

12:54Whenever Mayweather was forced to walk an opponent down,

12:57what he did was actually very basic.

13:00He would hold his hands up and he would walk forward throwing straight right hands.

13:03Okay, they were accurate straight right hands.

13:05They were well-timed straight right hands.

13:08But there wasn't a whole heap of head movement.

13:09There wasn't a whole heap of creative or dynamic footwork,

13:13coming forward, walking somebody down.

13:15No, it was very, very basic stuff.

13:17And I don't think an approach that basic would have worked against,

13:21let's say, a Tommy Hearns.

13:22It was 6'1", 6'2", 78-inch reach, massive puncher, good hand speed.

13:28So I always thought that a Prime Tommy Hearns would beat Prime Mayweather

13:31because I can't see Mayweather doing what Ray Leonard did,

13:33grabbing the ball by the horns and taking it to Tommy Hearns.

13:36Can't see him doing that.

13:37And if he did try and do it, he's going to get clipped.

13:40Tommy Hearns hit so hard,

13:42that guard from Mayweather wouldn't be enough, in my opinion.

13:44And I never saw Mayweather on the front foot moving his head a lot.

13:47When he's in the middle of the ring or on the back foot,

13:49when he's being defensive, yeah, that's when he moves his head.

13:51The famous Philly shell defense, the shoulder roll and all that.

13:54But coming forward, no, it's a lot more basic.

13:56Go watch.

13:57Mayweather's old fights, you'll see what I'm talking about.

13:58Whenever he's forced to come forward, it's basic stuff.

14:01And so, after watching Crawford's performance against Canelo,

14:04I got to thinking, you know what?

14:05Maybe Crawford employs similar tactics if he fights a Prime Mayweather.

14:10The ongoing debate about who would have won,

14:14Terence Crawford or Floyd Mayweather, continues to divide fans.

14:18Mayweather is praised for his defensive brilliance, precise timing, and elite ring IQ.

14:24His ability to control fights and stay unbeaten is legendary.

14:28On the other hand, Crawford brings power, intelligence, and adaptability.

14:32His switch-hitting style and ability to pressure opponents make some believe he could have forced Mayweather

14:38into uncomfortable territory.

14:40While the fight never happened, comparing the two highlights just how different, yet great, they both are.

15:46UFC legend Daniel Cormier recently shared his thoughts on Crawford while reacting to

15:51Ilya Tapiria's surprising challenge.

15:54Though Cormier acknowledged Tapiria's rise in MMA, he made it clear that Crawford remains

15:58his pick without a doubt.

16:00But Cormier, known for his sharp fight IQ, said Crawford has already shown why he's the

16:05top fighter in all of combat sports today.

16:07His praise carries weight, especially since it comes from outside boxing, showing how far

16:13Crawford's greatness reaches.

16:14Bet that Ilya Tapiria could knock Terrence Crawford out, no chance.

16:18If I had to bet Ilya Tapiria versus Terrence Crawford, I'm betting Terrence Crawford.

16:41all those great fighters in MMA, when he walked into that ring, people thought he had a chance.

16:50Conor never had a chance against Floyd Mayweather.

16:52And it would feel that way with Tapiria.

16:55But you could at least tell that there's a chance because of how good he is in boxing

17:01and how he knocks people out inside the UFC.

17:06Initially, I thought Bud Crawford would just no-sell Ilya Tapiria, right?

17:10When you're the king and everybody's calling your name, you can literally just ignore them

17:16and nobody will say anything about it.
